  • Stayed here twice now - it’s a good place to relax and unwind.

  • Traceys place was everything we wanted and more. Was perfect for a romantic weekend away. Although the weather wasn’t the best we still enjoyed the hot tub and the local area. Bicester village was lovely for a afternoon out. We also went for dinner at the nut tree inn which Tracey recommended and it was lovely! Would absolutely recommend it to anyone who wants a little break away with a partner and will definitely be coming back myself. Tracey also went out of her way to help with extra touches which were greatly appreciated.

Rhus Cottage, is 3 miles from the market town of Thame, boasting many bars and restaurants and the award winning Le Manor aux Quat'Saisons. The farm has great access being 5 miles from junction 6 of the M40 with easy access to Oxford and London by train, bus or car. Aylesbury and Milton Keynes are a short drive as is Bicester Village. We have great views of the Chiltern Hills and stunning sunsets just out side the front door overlooking farm land. The cottage comes with free wifi.
Guests are welcome to join in on the farm, feeding the animals and collecting eggs, wander the fields and enjoy the garden. They may also make use of Hot tub, by prior arrangement.
Easy access to London and Oxford City and many other destinations in between. This area is littered with culture, we would be only too happy to advice you on where is good to visit. You will find a tourist information folder in the cottage which lists many attractions as well as nearby facilities.
  • Such a lovely property. Thoughtful touches in the bungalow. Small and cosy space perfect for a couple. Thank you for a lovely stay!

    Natasha2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • A calm little cottage away from everything - aside from a few peacocks! Was a lovely and relaxing place to spend two nights! Was a little difficult to travel to without a car, but the buses into Thame made it pretty accessible!

    Laura2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great!

    Alexander2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Emily’s place was such a nice stay and wish we could have stayed longer! Everything was pristine upon arrival and check-in was very simple. Hot tub is a lovely touch, and is easy to work, the chlorine can be quite strong when you first turn it on, but once we left it on for 15 minutes with the door open the smell was gone! Overall lovely stay and will definitely come back again 😊

    Gabrielle2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Nice, cosy space and pleasant surroundings. Great for some scenic peace :-)

    Vivienne2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful & peaceful setting. Had an amazing nights sleep and the animals wondering about were very entertaining.

    Joe2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely gem of a place, will definitely be back soon, had everything we needed and more and waking up to ducks, peacocks and geese was super cool.

    Jody2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • I thoroughly enjoyed the location, the wonderful views of the countryside, and the trail of geese, hens, cockerels, and peacocks that would parade along the path in front of the annexe, and the peacocks would even perch on the garden table and chairs outside my window ledge. The whole managerie of birds would then be seen scattered over the grassed areas of the farm. That is priceless and wonderful. The annexe space is very well appointed, and I made good use of it. The bed was really comfy, and I could just sprawl out over the lounge corner armchair. I would agree with past comments that it needs a lick of renewal, but the structure and furniture is sound and it was not a problem. I stuck to using the oven where the baking trays and pyrex dishes were great. I loved the touch of a loaf of bread and fresh duck and hen eggs, not forgetting the wine in the fridge which was all lovely (but don't forget to bring milk!). Emily rides horses and her father works on the farm, and both are totally down to earth. I didn't see anyone else. I enjoyed my stay as a totally down to earth, escape to the country, space for myself type of experience.

  • Amazing place to chill for 2 days with my wife. Great location to explore local towns and go for walks etc and then come back to an awesome hottub at first floor level overlooking fields. Rebekeh is great host and answered my silly questions when I didn’t realise the answers were in the welcome pack! Will hopefully come again if parents have the kids again!

    Aaron2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The Annexe was beautiful and a great place to relax. It had everything we needed! The hot tub at night time was so nice and peaceful and you can see so many stars. The place is really clean and well looked after. We loved all the little touches including the birthday balloons and fresh flowers. We will definitely be returning.

    Vidya2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Can’t believe it’s been a year since we have been. Absolutely love this place it’s so peaceful and relaxing. You have all you need and are so close to nature. Andy2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is our second time staying at the Annexe and I'd forgotten how lovely it was. So luxurious, so well decorated and nice touches with the flowers, croissants and bathroom toiletries. Had a very relaxing stay and will be sure to visit again! Hot tub, bath and bed amazing and very comfortable. Great location, lots of peace and quiet. Can't fault this place.

    Maya2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the Annexe was everything we could have asked for! It was beautiful and our host Rebekah was perfect. The Annexe is beautifully decorated, and I would definitely recommend a night time visit to the hot tub. The views of the stars are picturesque. Thank you for everything Rebekah, we will definitely be back!

    Sharan2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing! Our 2 night stay was everything we were expecting and more! Rebekah has made the annexe a beautiful retreat and we wished we could of stayed for longer. Everything was perfect from the hot tub to the small details! We cannot wait to return!

A contemporary guesthouse set in the the garden of an Oxfordshire stone cottage within walking distance of Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons. We bought the house in 2013 and completely renovated the cottage and annexe. The previous owner was Richard Curtis who wrote Blackadder, Four Weddings and a Funeral and the Vicar of Dibley whilst living here! The interiors are fresh and contemporary
As the photos show, we have a small space where there are coffee and tea making facilities and a Nespresso machine. We will leave milk, cereal, croissants and jam for a light continental breakfast the following morning.
Great Haseley is a very pretty village with a good community owned pub, The Plough. Please note it does not serve food on Sunday nights. There are some great footpaths and fields for country walks. The Vicar of Dibley was written in our house and was loosely based around some of the characters in our village!
  • A lovely peaceful place to stay.

  • Beautiful Airbnb in a stunning little village, not far from the centre of Oxford. The Airbnb is cosy but contemporary and had lovely finishing touches that we appreciated very much. There are plenty of walks to explore and a local pub down the road. We stayed only for one night as part of a 3 night getaway, but wished we’d stayed longer. We would definitely recommend staying here! Thank you for having us :)

    Sian2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is very nicely decorated and ideal for a short term getaway. We really enjoyed our stay here. It's worth noting that there aren't full kitchen facilities if planning on having a meal at the property.

  • Beautiful decor, very comfy bed, super clean, lovely breakfast... All in all a charming little cottage!

The Coach House was built in the 16th Century It is a separate house but is attached to our house by a thatched archway. The popular series Midsummer Murders is often filmed in Long Crendon and our house and the High Street has appeared in it many times. The Coach House has also been a police station in the series Jeeves and Wooster.
The Coach House is a perfect space for 2 people - the bedroom is on the mezzanine level and the bathroom is downstairs. The bathroom is basic but functional, with a bath and shower. There is a smart television with netflix, catch-up TV and Amazon Prime and a private garden for enjoying a drink on a warm evenings. ABOUT LONG CRENDON Long Crendon has two pubs - the Eight Bells (which is out of the gate, turn right and it’s 2 doors down on the right) and the Churchill arms which is a 5 minute walk away. The Eight Bells serves good pub food and delicious stone baked pizzas which you can eat-in or takeaway. The Churchill Arms is more of a drinking pub although it does serve food. In the village square - turn right out of the gate and it’s a 5mins walk, there is an Indian restaurant, a butcher, a café, a corner shop, an off-licence and a fish and chip shop. There is a cashpoint machine in both the corner shop and the off-licence. There are also 2 hairdressers in the village. Opening in September 2018, a 5mins walk away just by the village square, will be a farm shop, an artisan bakery and a café. Velvet Brown which sells beautiful flower arrangements and gorgeous gifts will also be situated next to the new farm shop and café. Our favorite local restaurant is the Mole and Chicken, which is on the outskirts on the village – lovely views of countryside from the terrace. It is possible to walk there in 15mins although there isn’t a pavement or street lights so if you are walking there in the evening please remember to take a torch. There is a torch in the laundry room for you to use. There are paperback fiction books in the white cupboard in the sitting room for you to read so please help yourself but if you only get halfway through a book and want to take it away with you we’d be grateful if you could leave a book in its place. The High Street is a generally quiet area and therefore the Coach House is not suitable for parties or large gatherings. The Eight Bells Pub does have jazz evenings in the summer months but there is rarely any music after 11pm. We are also 4 miles from Haddenham & Thame Station (London 35 minutes) THAME Thame is our nearest town – a 3mins drive – which has shops, cafes and restaurants. RESTAURANTS There are quite a few restaurants nearby, most require booking on a Saturday night or for Sunday lunch The Angel in Long Crendon The Mole and Chicken in Easington Le Manoir in Great Milton The Pointer in Brill The Hundred in Ashendon The Nut Tree in Murcott The Black Horse in Thame (White Brasserie Pub) CAFES The Flower Pot in Long Crendon Little Italy in Haddenham THINGS TO DO Waddesdon Manor Bicester Village Thame Oxford London (37mins from Haddenham & Thame station) Aylesbury Stowe gardens Haddenham Oxford Weddings at Notley Barn, Notley Abbey & Dorton House
Long Crendon is a delightful village setting. The High Street is a popular tourist attraction because of the many thatched houses and the Court House which is a National Trust property. Long Crendon was voted one of the UK's top 20 villages by The Times.
  • Honestly an excellent host and a fantastic unique place. Clean and everything we needed. The street was so beautiful. Just kept waiting for a horse and carriage to come by . And the pub next door , excellent. And the Churchill, another great pub and excellent Thai food. 100% recommended

    Gareth2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Coach House. Charlotte provided lots of suggestions for dining all within walking distance (and all terrific!) and when we had trouble with the wifi, Hugh came right over to get it working again. There were lots of thoughtful touches and, of course, it was amazing to stay in such an old, beautiful space. We would definitely stay there again and can recommend the Coach House wholeheartedly.

    Colleen2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay in the beautiful Coach House! The house and village look just like a movie set, and are cosy and welcoming. Host Charlotte made many thoughtful finishing touches including recommendations for the local area, and was very prompt and helpful in dealing with queries. Thank you!

  • What a gorgeous place! Super comfortable and cosy for a (very wet!) weekend away. Charlotte was a great host and really responsive. The bottle of prosecco was a really lovely touch too (thank you Charlotte!). A great location with lovely walks. The pub next door does great food too, as does the bakery up the road.

    Long Crendon, England, United Kingdom

Our stylish Scandi-inspired summer house in the bucolic village of Long Crendon, Bucks is unique to the area. We were thrilled when it recently featured in an interiors magazine. It's perfect for a grown-up getaway, business travellers - or if you're attending a wedding in Bucks/Oxon and need a chic bolthole to sleep off the champagne!
The one-bedroom property is located at the end of our garden but is entirely self-contained and private. Please note: we can't accommodate children unfortunately. Basic breakfast provisions are provided but we recommend you swing by our award-winning café and lifestyle store NORSK, in the neighbouring village of Haddenham. It's less than 10 minutes by car and open seven days a week from 8am on weekdays and 9am on weekends.
Long Crendon is a picture-perfect village, within easy striking distance of Waddesdon Manor, Oxford and its dreaming spires, pretty market town Thame, Raymond Blanc's acclaimed restaurant Le Manoir and the shopper's delight that is Bicester Village designer outlet. If you're a fan of TV crime drama Midsomer Murders, you might like to know that many scenes are filmed in the surrounding towns and villages. And don't miss out on NORSK - I know we would say this but it truly is the best café for miles around! Our coffee is legendary, not to mention the breakfasts, lunches and cakes. Plus we stock all manner of Scandi interiors buys and gifts. Long Crendon itself has a small central square, a fish'n'chip shop, a gastropub and a smattering of shops. Plus there are plenty of walks to enjoy around the surrounding fields. Don't miss the neighbouring hilltop village Brill with its historic windmill atop a hilly common and gorgeous views.
  • Had a lovely stay. Outstanding property :)

  • What a beautiful, stylish and refreshing place to stay for a weekend! The light in the morning and evenings was lovely and the place was full of lovely touches that made you feel warm and welcome. Hope to come back again!

    Olivia2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic house - very well designed with lots of thoughtful touches! Cathrine and her husband greeted us personally and gave us a quick tour of the place. You should also check out their café, Norsk, just down the road in another village. We enjoyed a delicious brunch there.

  • A beautiful stylish space from which you can explore Oxford and the local area. Would highly recommend, and plan to visit again.

    Rob2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful little place! It has everything you need; a comfy bed, a great shower, a lovely kitchen and facilities. What more could you want from an Airbnb? Cathrine was really helpful and always responded promptly. The place was sparkling clean and as if it was brand new. Couldn’t recommend this stay more. We’ll be back! Thanks :)

    Olivia2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely weekend away at Catherine’s air bnb, it was a beautiful stylish space and sparking clean, would definitely recommend!!

    Joanna2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Just exquisite. We had a cosy birthday weekend for my partner in Oxford, and Cathrine's cabin was the perfect bolt hole. Impeccably designed and furnished, close enough to spend each day in Oxford itself, and Cathrine's cafe Norsk nearby was an excellent and delicious way to start a relaxed weekend morning. Can't recommend enough. Takk!

    Andrea2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • A stunning space. Cannot recommend highly enough. One of the nicest AirBNB's I've ever stayed in. We only regret not being able to stay longer.

Bed and breakfast in downstairs accommodation with your own entrance to a single bedroom and private, large, brand new shower room. Wifi included. Situated in a beautiful village with local shops and amenities, 1 mile from Thame, Oxfordshire, 15 minutes from M40 to London and 7 minutes from mainline British Rail station at Haddenham.
A comfortable single bedroom for one with daybed and ample storage space, free Wi-Fi, overlooking pretty garden. Private bathroom is a large wet room with shower, basin and wc and you own back door entrance.
I love living in Long Crendon and you will love this area. It is ideal for getting to so many great places. The village is picturesque and not too small, so lots of amenities, with plenty of places to eat; 2 great pubs, 3 restaurants/take-aways and small shops. There's also a library, hairdressers, mechanics, park, tennis courts, 2 churches and community centre. It's quite rural round here and so lovely walking from the village or head towards the Chiltern Hills for extended walks. My house is situated on the corner of a quiet road, lined with large sycamore trees, only a short walk to the shops and local amenities. It's a lovely place to be with friendly and helpful neighbours.

Located between Haddenham and Thame, The Stable is a self contained studio apartment with separate access, generous private parking and its own beautiful south facing courtyard, with stunning views over the Chilterns. A perfect location for visiting Oxford, day trips to London or a cosy bed for the night if attending a wedding at Notley Abbey, or just simply enjoying the air and space that the country has to offer!
The Stable offers a generous open plan living area and a separate bathroom with sauna and power shower. The whole apartment is kept super cosy in the winter with underfloor heating - you won’t need that for the summer months as you will have the french doors wide open onto the sun trap courtyard - if you time your stay well you might be able to pick your own peaches we had 62 in 2019! The property is located within the grounds of our house and is totally private and not overlooked.
Located between Haddenham and Thame, The Stable is a self contained studio apartment with separate access, generous private parking and its own beautiful south facing courtyard, with stunning views over the Chilterns. It is perfect for business travellers or for a cheeky grown up getaway - Thame, with its many pubs, restaurants and independent shops is just down the road and gorgeous, historic Oxford under half an hour away on the train. In addition, the ever popular Notley Abbey, wedding venue is only 1.4 miles away, so our stable is a super convenient place to get your party frocks on beforehand and indeed post party, to rest your dancing legs, with only a 2 minute taxi home!
  • A really lovely place. Great terrace with a lovely view across the countryside. The sauna was a real treat after a long day!

    Francesca2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful find, great location close enough to rail links and town, but far enough away that you feel you are very much away from everything. The sauna was a fabulous and surprising extra, the room was big, airy and extremely comfortable. Definitely excellent value for money and highly recommended.

    Kevin2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Thoroughly recommend. I knew from previous reviews that I would not be disappointed. Julia's accommodation delivered everything it promised as well as a comfortable bed, quiet surroundings and a great space. Nothing needs to be improved or changed. I was on business for 2 days and I looked forwards to leaving my work surroundings and retreating to this little gem.

    Steve2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommended! Lovely house, very clean and stylish! We felt like home there! Thank you very much!

  • Spent two nights staying at the stable and we enjoyed our time. Location is really beautiful and it was lovely to see sheep in the morning grazing on the other side of the main garden. Stayed with my wife and two young children and we had no issues; room is comfortable with a big king size bed and comfortable sofa. Would recommend this location! Thanks for having us again Julia, maybe next time we could meet the animals. :)

    James2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for a weekend getaway to the countryside and had a fantastic time. The Stable was a lovely place to stay and Julia was an amazing host, offering plenty of advice about walks in the Chilterns and local pubs and coffee shops. The highlight of our trip was the sauna but the rest of the property and the location is fabulous!

    Sneha2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A super cozy space and so incredibly unique. The personal touches were clear and the sauna was a delight. Julia gave us a lot of suggestions about places to go but because the weather was so bad we couldn’t really explore however her home was so comfortable we didn’t mind staying in. Thank you so much for having us !

    Melanie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z

  • Had such a lovely weekend at this clean and modern place. We loved the minimalist style of everything. Perfect for a winter break, it was cosy and comfortable. Really enjoyed the evenings in watching Netflix already set up on the TV. The view from the large window was beautiful, it was really relaxing to look outside and watch the birds of prey. Great location. Charlie’s info pack was helpful and communication was direct. Stuart answered our call promptly when we had a question. Would recommend!

    Wing2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place with an even better view. We unfortunately had bad weather while we were there, but it didn't matter as the home is very comfortable and cozy. Will definitely stay again the next time we're back.

  • FABULOUS STAY!!! Super stylish pod, right up our street. Stunning views and great amenities. Close enough to Oxford park and rides and other desirable locations. Highly recommend; 5*

  • Crinan Pod is a thoughtful and well designed space, ideal for a weekend escaping the city. In the middle of some beautiful villages, with close proximity to walks and lots of lovely pubs. Charlie was an amazing host, all of her recommendations were great. We will be back soon!

    Hayley2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Loved everything about the place. Well done Charlie!

    Andrew2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely gorgeous little pod, perfect for day trips to Oxford & Bicester with all the amenities (Netflix, Nespresso) you could ever want coupled with Skandi chic at its finest! Thank you!

    Mia2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • The single most outstanding thing about the Crinan Pod is the “full-screen” view over the Bucks countryside when you raise the living-room blinds in the morning. Both beds are very comfortable and the kitchen well-equipped. And Long Crendon is a lovely village in its own right, as well as being close to Oxford, Waterperry Garden and the Chilterns. When our group grew to exceed the capacity of this Airbnb, Charlie and Stuart went out of their way to find us supplementary accommodation nearby, allowing us to spend a wonderful family Christmas. Thanks very much!

  • Davina is an excellent and very welcoming host who does everything she can to make you feel at home. Her beautiful home is luxurious and just out the main town centre which was perfect for me travelling to a course nearby. I would be very happy to stay here again and an added benefit is having a chat over breakfast with Davina - you don't have to do that but I thoroughly enjoyed her company. I'd much rather stay here than a hotel :)

    Lynne2020-02-23T00:00:00Z

    Vicki2019-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Davina was incredibly welcoming, generous and accommodating. She was so lovely and flexible about my comings and goings, especially as I had to dash out when I first arrived and I got back late in the evening. She provided lots of breakfast and snacks, and was lovely to chat to. The room was completely spotless, had everything you needed, and lots of thoughtful touches (so many toiletries!). I would have liked to have stayed longer and would definitely recommend it to others.

  • We had a lovely weekend break in this beautiful property - great location, fantastic facilities and wonderful hospitality. The cottage was really comfortable, we especially loved the Aga and the open fire! Had 2 great nights sleep as well, and we loved the rural location. Lots of great extra touches too, much appreciated. We would thoroughly recommend Prospect Cottage and thank Nic and Venetia for their hospitality.

  • Prospect Cottage was the ideal place to spend a weekend in the countryside. The cottage was cosy and tastefully decorated and we loved being able to have the wood burner on in the lounge. Venetia was very responsive and welcoming and offered us a lovely meal which was piping hot and ready for us to tuck into straight from the aga when we arrived. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a weekend retreat!

    Megan2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect little getaway. Cosy and welcoming, especially with the Aga!

    Eileen2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay, the cottage was lovely and everything we needed for a weekend break away. It was in a great location to go into oxford (using park and ride) and close to country walks. Venetia gave us lots of information on good places to eat and checked that we were ok. We would both love to come back.

    Becky2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful and comfortable cottage and we felt privileged to stay here; it is lovingly furnished and spotlessly clean and well equipped. We enjoyed the private back garden with hammock, which was ideal for stargazing. The local country pub is just a few steps away and there are several other good places to eat just a short drive away. Venetia and Nic were friendly and provided very helpful local advice, welcome fresh produce on arrival and good communications for the visit.

  • Lovely house with a very comfortable guest room and en-suite in the attic. Spotlessly clean. Great location for some fab pubs and restaurants - easy walk to town centre. A very relaxing stay.

  • Charlotte’s home is beautiful and spotlessly clean. Beds were extremely comfortable with nice linen, towels and breakfast provided. She also had some thoughtful touches such as tea and coffee provisions in the room. Would highly recommend!

  • A fantastic stay in a lovely home. It had everything we needed and the breakfast was an unexpected surprise and very welcome. Perfect!

    Jamie2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in Lottie's home for 3 nights. It was a first for us as, even though we have used Air BnB many times, we have only previously made bookings for hiring a whole place. The arrangements Lottie has put in place in terms of private areas and shared areas have been carefully thought through - our stay was lovely and very good value for money. The renovations have been done to a high standard and the house is a lovely space to be in. Breakfast being included is an added bonus. Communication was excellent throughout the whole process. Our only disappointment was only meeting Ted on one evening - everything else was great!

  • Great stay in a lovely house

    Rebecca2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • We were greeted very warmly by Marion the house manager who had prepared the house earlier than check in time for us to drop our bags off and do a quick change to go to lunch at Le Manoir aux quatre Saisons in nearby Great Milton. The house is very styish with everything you could need, even breakfast is provided. A lovely touch. The wet room bathroom and en-suite were lovely, sadly the shower had leaked the night before so the en suite shower was off limits, but the main bathroom shower was lovely. The house has been beautifully renovated and is delightfully comfortable.

Our annexe is near the village high street within the conservation area and close to two pubs, The Angel restaurant, fish and chip shop, Indian restaurant, village shops, the park with playground, and country walks. Oxford is 25 minutes away by car, Thame is 10 minutes away and the station with trains to London or Birmingham is 10 minutes away too. You’ll love our place because of the location and its bright and airy feel. It's good for couples, wedding guests at Notley and business travellers.
  • Been a few times now. And always as expected. A++

    Mike2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Nicky’s annexe is a brilliant place to stay if you’re a guest at Notley Tythe Barn, as it’s only 3 minutes down the road. The place was as expected - very cosy with everything we needed for a nights stay. We had quick communication with Nicky leading up to and on the day, and she was very helpful in explaining everything we needed to know. Highly recommend this lovely little place!

My place is a quiet village retreat. The perfect place to minimise contact in the current crisis. Private building and access within easy reach of the beauty of the Chilterns. Easy access to London, Oxford and Thames Valley in the centre of Midsomer Murders country. You’ll love my place because of the peace, safety, light, and the large private outdoor space. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families with kids. Escape from the current crisis but with access to all amenities
This is a country retreat with your own private, detached first floor apartment in the grounds of a historic thatched home. Your accommodation was originally built as a studio for the 20th Century Artist, Stanley Anderson. His work is still highly desirable today and recently had his own exhibition at the Royal Academy. He was inspired by the country setting and peace. The apartment consists of an open plan lounge diner/ kitchen, a very spacious double bedroom and a compact but modern and well equipped shower room. We provide all bedding, towells and a fully equipped kitchen. There is one king size bed in the bedroom and a brand new double sofa bed in the lounge. The king size bed has a lovely pocket spring mattress. The sofa bed is best for children or teenagers. While it is a good quality sofa bed it does have the limitations of being a sofa bed! We have a superb washing machine and free wifi
Towersey is a small, traditional village about 1 mile from the very pretty market town of Thame. Towersey has many thatched and other historic buildings, a park, a church, a village pub with a good beer garden. The village is on a minor road so is generally quiet with light traffic only. The apartment is in the garden of the main house. The main house is thatched, built in around 1620 and was believed to be the village blacksmiths (we regularly find old horseshoes in the gardens). The apartment itself is believed to have been built in the 1930's (with a tiled roof) and was used as a studio for famous artist Stanley Anderson who escaped the bombing of London to complete many of the works that earn him a highly covered fellowship of the Royal Academy

Number 6 is a cute cottage tucked away in a secure courtyard, with lots of character. Like its neighbour Number 7, the cottage was converted from farm buildings in the 1980s and has original beams in every room. The downstairs is open plan, while being warm and cosy, and the cottage is furnished with both modern and antique pieces. The location is peaceful yet with access to many local amenities.
The cottage has its own front door and you will have the entire place to yourself. There is also a small patio space in front, overlooking the courtyard. The main room has a sofa, arm chair and there is a tv with Freeview. The dining table provides somewhere to eat or work. Crockery, cutlery and saucepans are provided. The kitchen is fully equipped with electric oven and hob; the cottage has its own combi boiler with limitless hot water. The modern clean bathroom is upstairs off the bedroom with a mains pressure shower over a bath. Haddenham is ideally located for exploring Oxford and the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and also has the benefit of a fast train to London (the station is a 10 minute flat walk from the cottage). Other cottages in the courtyard are let to local companies and individuals on flexible contracts with servicing from our two friendly housekeepers who tidy the cottages daily (Monday to Friday). Let me know if this might be of interest to you, although it will be limited over the holiday period.
Haddenham itself is very charming and has many attractive amenities including an lifestyle cafe, independent interiors shop, artisan butchers and bakers, farm shop and cafe, garden centre and four pubs. There are several options for eating out in the village or at pubs and restaurants in nearby villages. Thame is a thriving market town just 3 miles away which still has a weekly market on Tuesdays.

  • The pictures of Bryony's cottage don't do it justice, it's beautifully decorated and a cosy, comfortable home away from home. Easy access to Oxford, plenty of parking and the log burning fire made our stay at the Headley Cottage wonderful!

    Timothy2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely stay in this gorgeous cottage! Perfect, quiet and peaceful getaway. The whole cottage has been renovated to perfection. The log burner made it really cosy. Bed super comfy! Games provided too and some milk in the fridge 😊 There was lots of information about local places to go which we found helpful. Would reccomend Thame to visit with cute shops and nice country pubs. Thankyou and we will be back I'm sure! x

    Chantelle2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you to Bryony and Harri for a fantastic weekend away in their cute country cottage. The area around Shabbington was lovely and an easy drive from Thame. The cottage was easy to find thanks to the instructions Bryony sent over before hand and offered lots of lovely touches throughout to make our stay truly comfortable. We enjoyed using the proper log fire and will have to return in summer with better weather to check out some of the dedicated walks Bryony had put maps together for. Headley Cottage was just as rustic and relaxing as the photos show. I will be certainly be recommending Bryony’s place to family and friends. All the best Felix and Bex

Lovely country house down a quiet lane in a rural setting near Long Crendon, Buckinghamshire. Sleeps 8, underfloor heating throughout, Aga kitchen, large private garden. Enjoy green views, peace and quiet and all creature comforts. 30' to Oxford.
Pinn Cottage is a lovely 4bdr country house down a quiet lane in a rural setting near the Buckinghamshire/Oxfordshire border. Enjoy green views, peace and quiet and creature comforts whilst only 30 minutes away from the centres of Oxford, Bicester or Aylesbury, and from the M40. Set in large private gardens the house has the benefit of underfloor heating throughout, a 4-oven Aga cooker and a wood-burning stove. Downstairs the large kitchen is the focus of the house, with a light and bright dining area built in conservatory style and leading through french doors to outdoor terraces on both sides. Cooking is done on the Aga range, which also has a double ring electric hob on one side. The kitchen is fitted with a large Amari US ice- and water-dispensing fridge, and Miele dishwasher. The utility room houses a washing machine and butler's sink, with a shelved pantry and wine store off it. There is also a spacious separate dining room perfect for more formal gatherings. The dining room and living room sit cosily side by side, in the older 'cottage' part of the house, with a dual aspect wood-burning stove in the fireplace between. Logs are stored at the side of the house. Off the entrance hall is a small study which can provide a quiet bolt-hole to compose e-mails if work calls. Upstairs are four double bedrooms, 2 of which have ensuite shower rooms, while the other 2 share a family bathroom with bath and shower. The master bedroom has a superking size bed, and a walk-through wardrobe area leading to the ensuite with double-basin and walk-in shower; bedroom two has a king size bed and smaller ensuite shower room; bedroom 3 has two single beds, one of which stows under the other when not required; bedroom 4 has a double bed and shares the main bathroom with bedroom 3. There is also a downstairs cloakroom lavatory. On the main terrace there is garden dining furniture, and a barbecue on the smaller terrace. At the top of the garden is a summerhouse and deck with all-weather rattan seating area where you can enjoy far-reaching views over the countryside and many a red sunset. The summerhouse has a power supply, so there is a fridge for drinks, and lights for those late summer evenings. The garden is largely south-facing and well-established sloping up from the house with several sets of steps leading to the top, (hence unsuitable for toddlers or anyone with limited mobility). There is ample parking in front of the house for 4 cars. The old thatched villages of Long Crendon and Haddenham are only a mile and three miles away respectively; two miles takes you to the market town of Thame with its variety of shops (incl Waitrose) and weekly market. The area is blessed with a huge choice of excellent pubs and restaurants, from our local favourite just around the corner to Michelin-starred establishments a short drive away. Our nearest station, ten minutes away, is Haddenham & Thame Parkway on the Chiltern Line out of London Marylebone.
Ours is a rural region offering all the pleasures of country living yet within easy striking distances of towns and cities and their amenities. It is walking country, with many footpaths and bridleways, with places of historical interest waiting to be discovered, thriving market towns to visit and pretty thatched villages to wander through. The Chilterns (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) can be found just to the east of the region, and the ancient national trail of The Ridgeway further to the south. In the Buckinghamshire/Oxfordshire borders we have small local communities which enjoy the best of both worlds - a rural life in beautiful countryside as well as access to historical Oxford, 30 minutes away, and of course our capital city London (50 minutes away by train on the Chiltern Line into London Marylebone). We are also easily accessible from the M40 (ten minutes away) all of which makes this area a perfect mid-way point for any multi-stop tour of the country. There are many historic properties to visit in the area (including Waddesdon Manor and Blenheim Palace to name only two) and a myriad different events to chose from throughout the year. Cinemas and theatres are 30 minutes away in Aylesbury or Oxford, and Oxford also has its many museums and colleges. Local communities are busy organising film clubs, sports clubs, summer fetes and concerts, so the tranquillity of the area belies a very active society. This is Midsomer Murders country so you may well come across guided tours in the vicinity.
  • WOW! This is a beautiful open home with windows everywhere looking at the gorgeous English countryside. The home also has both upper and lower patio and garden areas. The home also includes all the amenities you could possible need while visiting!

The house was quiet and Barry gives you as much (or as little interaction) as you’d like. Perfect for anyone who’s away for business like myself. Would definitely stay again.

  • Baz is a fantastic and very friendly host. You will feel comfortable, at ease and welcome at his house in no time. His place is a charming house in the little village of Tiddington outside oxford but the A40 is easily accessible to get to Oxford city or the Thornhill park and ride site. There is a local pub for dinner but you can have access to the kitchen and the lounge if you want to eat in the house. I would highly recommend a stay at this place to any one going to Oxford and I will certainly go back in the future!

  • There is the 280 bus to or from Oxford every 30 minutes ,more regular during Peak hours . Service runs till late ,there is so much to do in Thame depending on your interest .

  • Another excellent stay with Barry. He's a great host, his home is clean, tidy and comfortable and I always feel welcome and at home. I'm hoping to stay with Barry again soon. His home is in a good location for me. I've also eaten at the Fox and Goat in the village (a quite short walk) and can recommend that too

Charming, self-contained annexe, located in the heart of the picturesque village of Haddenham near Thame and Aylesbury. Notley Abbey and Hartwell House are just minutes away by car, while Oxford, Bicester Village, Blenheim Palace, Waddesdon Manor and the Chiltern Hills are all within easy driving distance. Haddenham & Thame Parkway train station, which has direct lines to London Marylebone (40 mins), Bicester Village (12 mins) and Oxford (26 mins) is a 10 minute walk away.
On the ground floor the annexe consists of an entrance lobby, comfortable living room with TV, fully equipped kitchen (with oven/hob, microwave, fridge and washing machine) and a modern bathroom with overhead shower. Upstairs is the large gallery bedroom with double bed and flat screen TV. The cosy sitting room has French doors leading out onto a secluded patio, overlooking the large, beautiful tree-bordered garden. Guests are welcome to sit in this area of the garden behind the annexe. Please note, although the annexe is a separate building it is in close proximity to the main house and you might see us as we go about our daily business. Private off street parking for one car is available.
Haddenham is a picturesque and charming village, with all necessary amenities including a bakers, local shops, cafes, pubs and a farm shop. The annexe is situated in the old High Street and we are lucky to have a fabulous artisan cafe on the end of the road, ideal for delicious breakfasts!
  • I have returned after a few months of domestic responsibilities which deterred me from making a trip until now. It coincided nicely with a lot of needs, and the return back was like putting your feet into your favourite snug slippers. Everything about this venue is gorgeously natural, spacious and cosy, right down to the lovely hosts Louise & Nick who are wonderfully friendly and down to earth. I can't sing it's praises enough, simply delightful in every way, and the bed is hugely comfortable. And at the end of the leafy snug country lane is a wonderful Indian restaurant where I obtained a fantastically delicious takeaway. It's as quiet as being in the middle of the countryside except instead you have the sheer pleasure of a superbly appointed annexe surrounded by snug but wonderfully appointed other snug cottages. Simply delightful, have I said that already, I'll say it again ... delightful in every way!! Thank you for the welcome dear hosts Louise & Nick.

  • You will not be disappointed if you book this gorgeous guesthouse. From the prompt responses from Louise, to the warm welcome and helpfulness from her to the accommodation itself .... was first class. Beautiful location with a lovely local pub a few steps away serving lovely food - the locals all super friendly too! In the other direction is a gorgeous little coffee shop offering the most scrumptious of breakfasts. The guesthouse ticked all the boxes for a comfortable, relaxing stay and we will most definitely be returning.

  • We have just come back from a fantastic stay at Emma’s place in Thame. We stayed for New Year and the location was great, we went out to the pubs and restaurants and it had a great atmosphere. We also travelled into Oxford and went on some lovey nearby country walks too. Emma’s place was SO clean and smelt amazing because of the candles and room diffusers. It was spotless. It had everything you could need in the kitchen and throughout the whole place. There were lots of thoughtful touches and it was decorated so nicely. The communication was great and check in and out was so easy, you really couldn’t fault it. We had such an enjoyable stay in Thame and we hope to be back soon!

    Fran2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Good location, close to restaurants and shops. Nice quiet area. House is spotless and cosy. Enjoyed our winter stay.

  • This became a home away from home while I was working in the area. Nice place.

    John2019-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Emma, although never met in person by us, came across as a warm, hospitable, understanding and very kind person. Communication with Emma prior our visit was wonderfully fast, easy and polite. With all her efforts, Emma made us feel like home and we had to admit, that we would not mind to have such space of out own just to live in. We have been given space and privacy just to enjoy our stay in a very respectful manner. Emma's Cottage became our home for only few days, but it's charming interior, well organised space and EXCEPTIONAL cleanliness of the whole household made us feel sad when we had to leave. The whole Cottage is cosy, beautifully organised, bright and furnished with taste. As both of us care for the environment, we were very happy to see that Emma cares for it, too by having organised space for waste segregation. Thame itself, although not explored as much as we would like to, happened to be a beautiful peaceful little town worth exploring. Neighborhood in which the cottage is situated is also really beautiful and quiet. We loved every second spend in Thame hosted by Emma. Both, with all our hearts, we would recommend Emma's Cottage to anyone who is looking for a nice, well managed, clean and cosy place to stay in while in Oxfordshire. Emma, as a host will definitely make that stay exceptional to anyone who is willing to accept invitation to her beautiful Cottage.

Bakery Barn is situated in the small village of Oakley, Buckinghamshire between the historic towns of Thame and Bicester. It is a great location for visiting Bicester Village, Bicester Heritage Centre, Blenheim Palace, Waddesdon Manor and of course Oxford and the beautiful villages of the Cotswolds. We are about 20mins from the M40 so very convenient for London and Birmingham. There are mainline train stations at Bicester and Haddenham each only about 15mins car journey.
We carried out the barn conversion 11 years ago and live in the main building. We have now converted the Annex building, situated just across the driveway, into a very comfortable self contained Guest Suite comprising of a lounge/dining/kitchen area plus a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom. The kitchen has a microwave oven plus full sized fridge with small freezer compartment. There will be a selection of breakfast cereals, fresh fruit, juice and yoghurt provided plus tea, coffee, sugar and milk.
Oakley is a small village with just one pub. However, the village of Long Crendon just 4 miles away has several restaurants including Indian and Thai plus a farm shop, florist, butchers and cafe. Brill is just a mile up the hill and, again, has a couple of lovely restaurants, pubs and village stores. It is quite a nice walk up through the fields if you fancy this! We are also only 8 miles from the renowned Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons if you are treating yourselves to that very special meal but don't want to stay at the hotel!
  • Really great hosts and fantastic location. Very cosy little space

  • Communication- The way Caroline communicated with me from the start was brilliant - she always responded quickly and was very helpful throughout. Welcome - Caroline gave me a very warm welcome, showed me what I needed to know and was friendly throughout. The Space - The Annexe is a wonderful space. It’s self contained so coming and going is simple. The living space has plenty of room to relax and eat with a well equipped kitchenette for small meals. The bedroom and en-suite is really nice, great decor choices and a very comfortable bed all makes for a very good a nights sleep. Location - Great for Oxford, less than 30mins drive to the centre. Caroline provided guidance on the best route in and details about the park and ride. Overall - Fantastic! 100 times better than a hotel room in every way!

There were great quality towels and bedding, plentiful tea and coffee, and Lesley also left a bowl of fruit and snack bars for us. The room and en-suite bathroom are at the top of the house so self contained and quiet. There’s a wonderful ‘proper’ old fashioned pub just along the road, with great beer - lots of conversation, and great banter! We’d also recommend Woodwork Trading coffee shop which is also close by and serves fantastic coffee and a lovely breakfast. The little museum is also well worth a visit. Thank you Lesley! • Georgina offered a clean and beautifully decorated room and private bathroom on the top floor of her lovely family home. It had everything I needed for a comfortable stay including tea, coffee, biscuits, cereal, milk and juice in the room with a fridge, a kettle and mugs bowls and cutlery as well. Check-in was easy and flexible (I picked up the key from a neighbour) and she was also happy to let me check-out a little late to fit in with my lift to Towersey. A little tip if you are using google maps to find Georgina's place: use the street address rather than the postcode as it's a new build and google gets very confused! All in all a brilliant stay and I would love to stay again.
