  • Lovely little getaway, very private and beautifully finished. Great communication from Tanya.

  • Great spot and host! Weather was absolutely appalling (storm Ciara) but we didn’t feel it with the log burner and hot tub! Ideally situated to get to lots of places in the Cotswolds and beyond. The cabin itself is a little on the small side but as advertised. It has everything you need though and with better weather you wouldn’t notice as much. Would highly recommend overall.

  • We have just returned from the most beautiful experience at Jed’s Shed. Absolutely beautiful setting, clean and stylish accommodation and very friendly, helpful hosts! The views are AMAZING! Lovely and clean shower block with a nice warm shower! Very refreshing stepping out afterwards! The log burner keeps you nice and toasty even on the coldest of days, we even managed to make a pizza and cook it for our dinner! Very comfortable bed and lovely stylish finishes. The hot tub is an extra bonus! Absolute heaven sitting in there watching the stars in January! I didn’t want to leave!

  • The perfect place for a romantic cosy getaway. I stayed in Jeds Shed over the weekend and would highly recommend it. Tanya was very helpful on my arrival and showed me how to used the fires/hot tub. It’s nice and private with lovely views of the country side. There are some good pubs nearby for food and drinks too, within walking distance. The accommodation was clean, stylish and had everything you need! I would definitely return here. Thank you Tanya

The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.

    Emma2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Tommy & Abbey’s guest suite was just what we needed for our few nights in Stratford. It was a very easy check-in thanks to their instructions. It’s a great location and just a short walk into the town centre. Everything we needed, nuff said!

  • Really lovely guest suite, perfect for a weekend break. Great location, cozy space and very quick communication with Tommy and Abbey. We loved all the extra touches, and would definitely recommend!

    Tamsin2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very last minute booking and Tommy and Abbey were very accommodating and responded very quickly as well as checking in during our stay. The check in was very easy and the property was larger than expected, furnished really nicely and a short walk to town.

    Isy2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place for a couple to get away from it all and explore all that Stratford upon Avon has to offer. The annex is charmingly cozy and Tommy and Abbey have clearly worked very hard maximizing the space available and making it a home from home. Couldn't ask for more!

    Adam2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem tucked in a quite part of Stratford upon Avon. Complimentary toiletries, preserves, packets of breakfast cereals, nibbles/biscuits, usual tea/coffee stuff, plus a fridge and toaster, gives you a little home from home. Bring your own bread and milk and you’ve got breakfast sorted. Communication was always swift and positive, and the place is spotlessly clean. Nice TV and DVD player and big selection of DVDs too. Lovely comfy and stylish bed with matching furniture. Didn’t want for anything as it was all provided by the thoughtful Tommy and Abbey. Won’t hesitate in returning for another stay.

  • A lovely, cosy, peaceful little cottage in a beautiful area. Amanda was a lovely host - I felt completely at home and settled from the moment I arrived. I was just there to write so didn’t get to explore the area properly, but I suspect the walks around the area are amazing. Watching the wild rabbits from the living room was a particular treat! Highly recommended.

A mini-supermarket and further facilities will be found in the nearby village of Honeybourne (Co-op)1 mile away Mickleton (approx 3 miles) as well as Bidford-upon-Avon (approx. 4 miles). The property is well-placed for access to a number of larger conurbations including Stratford-upon-Avon (approx. 9 miles), and a mainline railway station in nearby Honeybourne (3 miles) provides a regular service to London Paddington.6.5 miles to the North East is Stratford Upon Avon the birthplace of the one and only William Shakespeare is a wonderful town having everything you could wish for,The Royal Shakespeare Theatre,Anne Hathaway’s Cottage and Shakespeares birthplace and of course an abundance of shops restaurants and cafes you will not know what to do with yourself and to the the south are numerous Cotswolds villages and Market Towns waiting to be encountered including Chipping Campden,Broadway,Moreton-in-Marsh,Stow -on -the Wold,Bourton-on-the-Water and Burford.A favourite restaurant of mine is “The Potting Shed”within Dormy House at Broadway which is a 10 minute Drive. You can normally book it online through Open Table. The Baraset in Stratford 5 minutes outside centre) does consistently great food with great surroundings and is another restaurant that I love. You also have The Bell Inn in Welford which which was voted best restaurant dining pub 2017.This is 5 minutes drive away in the next village. The Kings Arms in Mickleton does great food with a great ambience and not to forget The Pudding Club in Mickleton does the best puddings with lashings of custard. Set in the heart of the beautiful county of Warwickshire, Stratford upon Avon is a thriving market town steeped in History and renowned for being Shakespeare’s birthplace. It is also the home to the world famous Royal Shakespeare Theatre which ensures a vibrant arts and theatre scene all year round. As you amble around the streets or wonder along the river you will soon notice the friendly ambience and charm of Stratford and appreciate why it is such a desirable place to live. The town centre has a selection of independent retailers nestled between some of the most desirable high street brands. • If you love animals and want a cosy retreat away from the hustle and bustle but still close to amenities and attractions then this is the place for you! Everything, literally everything is pig themed it's amazing! So many cute and quirky touches. Meeting the animals was so much fun, be sure to take some Bee approved fruit for the pigs, ducks and chickens! Tiddles the cat was so sweet and loved cuddles. We hope to come back again for another weekend away, maybe longer if we can!

  • A little off the beaten track , but perfect for us as we where visiting friends. Lovely touches and the pigs where adorable.

    Susan2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • The thought and attention to detail that Bee has added to this delightful cottage is outstanding . We found ourselves smiling even when we opened a cutlery drawer to be surprised by yet another quirky pig themed item . Fine quality home comforts add to the coziness . The meet and greet from the variety of animals was wonderful . Cuddling up by the fire with the pet cat curled up on our laps was so relaxing . This was a great getaway made extra special by the touches Bee has thoughtfully attended to - Prosecco and a cup- cake on arrival , jelly sweets , local books , fun games , bountiful supply of toiletries , wood etc for the fire .

    Su2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely brilliant. Booked this delightful cottage as a break for my sister and brother in law. Bee was amazingly helpful!!

    Tina2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The pig theme surprises you every time you open a drawer or cupboard! But the cottage is beautiful, quiet and we were left alone (as we wished). We had a wonderful stay.

She stayed in close communication from the moment I booked, and when I arrived, greeted me as warmly as though I were part of her own family. Her cat is also very cute and very friendly!

Great location close to rail stations and a short walk to town, it’s also on the Tour Bus route. Very close to many of the attractions that Stratford-upon-Avon has to offer, such as Anne Hathaway’s Cottage which is within walking distance. The self contained annex has everything you need for a short break, including parking, separate entrance, private shower room, Wi -Fi, TV with Netflix and tea/coffee making facilities, there’s also a microwave should you need one.
The bed is a small double and there’s a cot should this be needed. The annex has its own heating so you can set the temperature to your preference, it’s well insulated so you should find a perfect level. We don’t need to be here when you arrive, although we are close at hand should you need us. If arranged in advance we can pick you up/drop you off from the rail station, just let us know on your booking.
Everyone knows what the town is about and the annex is close to all the fantastic attractions. It’s on the tour bus route, although we can’t guarantee the driver will let you get off near the annex (there is a bus stop nearby so maybe!) you may need to use your charm. To be fair it’s a 15 minute walk from the nearest attraction if it doesn’t work! If you like walking we are close to the countryside and the town centre is a 25 brisk minute walk.

  • The cabin is perfect if you want to unplug completely and enjoy the simple life of the countryside. I would have loved to have tea on hand which for me was the only downside but the place and location it’s amazing! Tanya was super helpful and easy to reach, we definitely would love to go back again!!

  • I really enjoyed my stay here - I was visiting friends and off to the races and Suzi’s place couldn’t have been better placed! It was about a 15 min walk into town. It was perfect for my requirements and spotlessly clean. The extra touches like milk in fridge were appreciated, and the space was super comfortable. Would have no hesitation recommending to anyone.

    Simon2019-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Suzi. I loved your place. See you next time!

  • Beautiful apartment with great information based on local knowledge. Suzi offered me a late checkout without me asking for it which made everything so easy. She was also helpful in returning my phone charger when I left it behind. Suzi’s place is a lovely 20 minute walk to town. Cabs are not expensive.

Welcome to July Cottage, brought to you exclusively by Character Cottages, local specialists in stylish, Cotswold holiday rentals. July Cottage is a stunning, traditional Cotswold stone detached cottage, located in the heart of the picture postcard village of Ilmington, in the north-east corner of the Cotswolds. Despite being a small, peaceful village, Ilmington is fortunate to have two pubs, a village shop and a lovely Norman church. The village is surrounded by beautiful rolling countryside and is only five miles away from the famous Cotswold market town of Chipping Campden and seven miles away from Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare. Other places, such as Oxford, Blenheim Palace and Warwick Castle are easily accessible from Ilmington, as are the many beautiful market towns and villages of the Cotswolds. Important Customer Notice: - Special Events: Christmas, New Year and the Cheltenham Horse Racing Festival are Special Events, with bookings typically limited to weeks only from a specific start day If your dates don’t appear to fit, then please click Contact Host below to find out what options may exist for you!
July Cottage is accessed via its front garden. The front door opens into a small porch, which then opens into a large entrance hall, with oak beams and an oak floor. The following rooms are on the ground floor: Living room: A beautiful, character filled room, with oak beams, exposed Cotswold stone walls and a beautiful fireplace, with a wood burning stove. There is comfy seating for five and a BT TV with access to Netflix and Amazon Prime and a DVD player; Kitchen: The galley style kitchen is beautifully presented and contains an electric cooker, four ring electric hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle and toaster; Dining room: This lovely dual aspect room has two sets of French doors and opens directly into the kitchen. There is a dining table with comfy seating for five. Stairs lead up from the entrance hall to the first floor landing, off which are the following rooms: Bedroom 1: At the front of the cottage, looking out towards the village church, this room contains a double bed; Bedroom 2: Looking out to the side of the cottage, this room also contains a double bed; Bedroom 3: Another room looking out towards the village church, which contains a single bed; Family bathroom: Contains a bath, separate walk-in shower, toilet, wash basin and a heated towel rail. To the front and side of the cottage is a lovely, enclosed garden, with an outdoor table and seating, and a charcoal barbecue during the warmer months of the year. There is also an outbuilding, which contains a washing machine. There is a small space for parking directly outside the cottage and plenty of free on-street parking nearby.
The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone "wool churches". The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.
  • Our stay at July cottage was absolutely delightful. The cottage was beautiful, a really warm, cosy space. It was sparkling clean, had lovely little touches around the house and was very well stocked with everything you could possibly need in the kitchen. The hosts gave very clear instructions on how to find the cottage, with a really great pre-arrival instruction document. Communication was really quick and easy, and the key collection was in a key box on the property which made the whole experience really simple. The town was really picturesque, very small with two pubs that we absolutely adored. It was a great base to go exploring other towns from. We had a wonderful stay and didn’t want to leave. Will definitely be back!

  • This is a beautiful cottage in a lovely location. The cottage was spotless and had everything we needed for our weekend away. The welcome box with local produce was a lovely touch. Would definitely recommend. Thank you

  • This cottage is beautiful. In a lovely little village so easy to travel to the rest of the Cotswold from like chipping Campden, Bourton on water, stow on the wold, upper slaughter and Broadway tower. If you need to go to the bigger town Stratford upon Avon is only 20 mins away. There is also a lovely walk you can do in the village of ilmington which is about 40 mins with spectacular views of the village. The cottage had everything we needed. Every little detail was well thought out. It was impeccably clean and warm and cosy just as we were hoping for. They even gave us a few basic items like local bread, milk butter and jam. This was such a lovely little touch. You will not be disappointed if you are looking too book this cottage.

  • ANAZING, I loved it and hope to stay again in 2020. Awesome hospitality and truly a home away from home, I was gutted to leave. Michaela and family made me feel very welcome over Xmas and the little touches (a Christmas Tree and decorations) real touched me.

  • A lovely cottage just 10 mins outside Stratford. We stayed in winter so the pool was closed, but the garden and pool area looked lovely. We had a whole kitchen to use and the cupboards were well stocked with cutlery/crockery, cooking utensils etc. which was great for a night in for dinner. The host was really friendly, as were other people in the village. We would definitely like to come back - it is incredible value for money.

  • Lovely host who was just next door and open to help us with anything we needed. The Bakehouse had a really cosy vibe with an electric fireplace and cooking amenities, perfect for a short weekend in the Cotswolds. Open kitchen-dining-living area made for a lovely relaxing lazy stay. A short drive to country pubs, supermarkets and farm shops. Signal wasn’t amazing in the area but WiFi in the flat didn’t pose too many issues for us. Would stay again!

    Beata2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Old bakehouse turned into a beautiful little cottage. Very cozy and homey place with everything you need. Even a pool for the warmer time of the year. It is located right next to an amazing pub (don’t worry you won’t hear any noises). Only a 10 minute drive to Stratford-upon-Avon and only a few minutes longer to Chipping Campden. Michaela was a great host and replied to messages very quickly.

    Laura2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely stay in the Cotswolds all within close driving distance to the main towns. We had a great meal at the plough inn, recommendation from michaela :) everything about the cottage was comfortable and perfect for us. Check in was extremely easy and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. - we also took our 10 month old pumpkin picking at a local farm this was great fun! With amazing views of the Cotswolds country side :)

  • My boyfriend and I had a great time. The cabin is so cute and the fire is so cosy. Loved cooking in the wood fire oven! Just 2 tips for future guests: if it’s windy at night you might want to take the shower bucket down, it’s incredibly loud when it gets blown around. And be careful not to overheat the hot tub. It maintains its temperature very well, which is great but we accidentally left it heating for too long and then couldn’t get it to cool down for hours!

    Chloe2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great people, offering a great stay, good place to reset, off the grid away from everything. Couldn’t ask for more, loved it. Would happily go again and again :)

The room I was in is on the upper floor of an old cottage so the floors are not level and the boards do creak. Keep this in mind if that will be a problem after you have tried a few of the beers. It is a shared bathroom but I am not concerned by this, if you have an urgent need after imbibing of the beer you can go outside to the campsite loos. I stayed because I have a "project" boat nearby, this room was comfortable and convenient, I will stay again.

  • Julia’s cottage is clean and cozy. 15 minutes drive from Shakespeare’s hometown and the cottage is just beside a local small pub. Very convenient to get a drink.

  • Our stay at Julia exceeded our expectation with a lot. The room was amazing and clean, while her cozy pub being located right next to our home was a big bonus. We had a nice drink in the pub which ended up in a 5 hour conversation with her and her lovely guests. Totally recommend staying a night at Julia and experiencing the unique weekend vibe at her pub!

  • It's much nicer than our expectation, especially the local people were so nice and helpful. The experience of living in here was so impressive for people who want to enjoy the real peaceful and refreshing village life, and we enjoyed staying here.

  • Our stay was short but really nice! The location right next to the pub is perfect, also the pub is rather quiet so we had no problems with noise in our bedroom

A stunning, hand crafted cabin with your own private wood fired hot tub and wood burning oven located in the beautiful North Cotswold Countryside. A haven to escape to for couples and families from all walks of life. To truly relax you do not need to drive anywhere as we are just a 5 minute walk from the pretty village of Mickleton where there are 2 pubs, a village shop, post office, butchers and hotel. IF BOOKED CHECK OUR OTHER CABINS - POPPY'S PAD, DAISY'S DEN, MIRT'S MANSION ANDJEDS SHED
The houses have been built to our own specifications and alongside the hot tub and cooker they contain a micro kitchen with cold water tap, 2 ring hob, fridge and ice box. There is also an eco toilet in the houses for your convenience. In addition, there is a double flush toilet and shower block on site for guests.
  • DJ Digs was a delightful getaway to the Cotswolds countryside. Myself and three friends thoroughly enjoyed our weekend. The hot tub is amazing!!! So relaxing and very easy to use. We also enjoyed cooking pizzas in the outside cooker, which certainly made the terrace area cosy in the evenings. Tanya was a great host! When we had a problem with the electricity, she sorted it out in no time. It is a short walk (but along a main road) to Mickleton where we enjoyed a drink in the local pub. Would definitely recommend having a car to explore all the wonderful places near by. The beds were super comfortable and all the facilities were clean and easy to use. Would highly recommend and would definitely visit again! Thank you for our wonderful stay.

  • During our stay, I posted some pictures on my Instagram story and I've never had so many messages back, with 'where is this and how can I book!'. No wonder, when it truly is a magical and dreamy place to stay, and Tanya made everything so easy with great recommendations and local knowledge too. We would definitely go back, an amazing experience ❤️

  • My boyfriend and I spent a perfect 2 days at DJs Digs. Despite being in the middle of Storm Dennis, we were warm, comfortable and happy with our log burner and hot tub! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone, and can't wait to come back.

  • We had such a lovely weekend stay here at DJ's Digs! The cabin was cosy & well equipped with everything you could need & enough space for 4 of us. We loved the hot tub & wood fired oven which were great to come back to in the evening after a long chilly walk! The cabin is located in a tranquil, peaceful area with amazing views of the stars & cute nearby towns to explore with plenty of cosy pubs & nice walks - we visited Chipping Campden & Stow-on-the-wold which were both lovely. Although the host was away, there was great communication throughout & nothing was too much trouble for their assistant who checked us in & provided some more logs when needed. Thanks for a fab stay, we will definitely be back!
