This house is just beautiful and in the perfect location right on the lake. Can't say enough about our experience there. From the ease of communication with the host to the quality of the home. The only qualm I have is that the beds are a bit flimsy. Would have liked a firmer mattress. And also a dishwasher would be super helpful. Otherwise we had a fantastic time.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Lakehouse and even extended our reservation one more night after we saw the house. We appreciated the quick communication, the cleanliness of the house, the attention to detail for the things we needed at the house and the beautiful lake location.

The house is quiet and clear and has exclusive view of the calm lake. The big tree and the dock are my favorite. Definitely need to try it out.

Mary's house exceeded our expectations. It was recently renovated so everything was clean and new. The house sits directly on a lake, as pictured, and it was magical to come outside every morning. There are kayaks and a canoe available. The house is close to the city, which makes it convenient for a weekend getaway. Stores fairly close by. New gas grill arrived. Highly recommended for a relaxing, weekend escape.

This is the first time I have used Airbnb and had some reservations about the service. However, Mark was extremely communicative from start to finish and was on site to help us when we arrived. He even gave us his personal cell number, so we received quick responses when we had questions, such as directions to the closest train station, only ten minutes away. He also provided small gift baskets with snacks and small travel essentials, in case we had forgotten anything. The home itself is gorgeous and immaculately kept. It is directly across from the lake; almost every room has a view! The three bedrooms and full bathrooms are beautifully decorated. Two are upstairs, and one is downstairs, easily accessible for anyone who doesn’t climb stairs well. There is an en suite off the master bedroom, and the second bathroom is jack-and-jill style between the bedroom and den. The downstairs bathroom is directly next to the bedroom. All three are like spas! Mark has done a spectacular job designing the home. There is a den on each level that contains pull out sofa beds and TVs, for relaxing and sleeping. There are two separate dining areas inside the house, seating up to 12 people, as well as an outdoor eating space! All three provide excellent views of the lake. The kitchen is laid out intuitively and well stocked, and there was a gas grill that we were able to use for a cookout! He even provided the propane we would need to use it. Finally, a small touch that made my stay wonderful was the inclusion of paper plates and cups. While there were dishes we could have used, I hate doing dishes on vacation and the paper plates made it so simple for me! Thank you, Mark, for a wonderful stay. This is THE HOUSE for anyone looking for a lake vacation or visit to the Hudson Valley area!

This is a lovely home and I would highly recommend staying here. We recently stayed at this house over the holidays and it was beautifully decorated, warm and festive, and of course clean. It sits right on a lake so there are beautiful views of the water, especially from the upper deck. I can see this being a great rental for summer where you can rent boats nearby. Mark was accommodating, flexible and communicative. He left us a welcome basket full of wine, chocolates, and other nibbles. Each bedroom had welcome baskets as well with travel-sized toiletries in case anyone needed anything. My family took up the three bedrooms, but there were other areas to for sleep accommodations on sleep sofas. One of those rooms has two twin sized beds which is good for kids, rather than a couple. There was a cute reading nook upstairs and one downstairs; great for getting a little separation. The kitchen is cozy and stocked, and the dining room table is long to sit a full house. Hope to rent this place again!

This home is even better than it looks online! Although there are only 3 bedrooms, there are actually 5 sleeping areas (6 if you count the living room couch!). The views are incredible! The home is updated and a gorgeous blend of modern decor and lovely antiques. There is plenty of seating on the patio, there is a large dining room inside as well. The entire home was very clean, with plenty of towels and linens, and each bedroom had a basket of travel toiletries. Mark was available to call or text with any questions. He met us at the house and gave us the tour, and also left us a basket with wine, snacks, and a candle! He also left milk, juice, and half-and-half in the fridge for us. My extended family was so impressed with the house - I got all the props for finding and booking Mark's lovely home, but he deservers the thanks for all his careful preparation!

Really great experience! Cody was a great host. The house was super nice and super clean. Everything worked great. The pool and hot tub were cleaned and ready for use. Little helpful notes were left around the house, and the neighborhood was really nice. Our little one really enjoyed as well. Overall, accommodations were perfect!

It was a perfect week at Codys amazing, charming and quiet home. The house is absolutely perfect and the entire family had a wonderful experience. The pool area is perfectly located in the back of the house, and the large tree together with all the green plants and flowers around the pool keep the area refreshingly cool during the extreme hot days. This place is a perfect gateway home for the city people, who don't want to spend to much time in traffic. It's only 1 hour away from the city and it provides the peace and sanctuary needed. They have a hot tub, sauna so a relaxing experience is guaranteed.

The house was amazing! Angus was a wonderful host, always available and pleasant to talk to. When there were things to be fixed a handy man arrived within hours! We had a perfect summer here. The lake is wonderful, not too much boat traffic and the decks are lovely and sun filled. The house is spacious and comfortable in the summer rain or shine. We will definitely be back!

Angus was an excellent host to us. While we never had the pleasure of meeting him (or them), his notes to us were thorough and helpful. Further, the experience we had at the lakehouse far surpassed the expectations we had for our time there. Between the tranquility of the lake community, the intelligently designed and thoughtfully curated house, that awesome little boat house/dock (equipped with a canoe, flotation devices and a fridge) and just having family together, I can honestly recommend this Lakehouse to anyone looking for a restful vacation that feels like a home away from home. If you decide to book, bring food to stock the fridge. Bring a couple of your favorite cooking utensils (they have the basics, but I love my own knife and pan. Oh and they don't have a coffee maker there. Or a blender). But most importantly of all, leave your busy head at home. Soak it up, just relax, and give yourself some space. THAT is what this house is good for.

We enjoyed our stay at Gus' lake house. Our favorite aspects were the view, having access to the canoe, and the quiet environment provided such a short drive from NYC.

This place was super peaceful and relaxing. A great get away from the city that was easy to get to. Bill was exceptionally easy to coordinate with and a great host. There was plenty to do right on site with the lake and paddle boat/paddle boards. The city itself has lots of things to do to keep you busy if the lake isnt your cup o tea. My fiance and I loved this place! It is only 1 hour from the city - the perfect getaway. The house was very clean and comfortable. Bill & BJ had a lovely welcome basket for us with some necessary toiletries which was extremely thoughtful as well as a bottle of champagne waiting for us in the fridge! The house was the perfect size for 2 people. We utilized the kitchen and outdoor grill outside and had our own BBQ by the lake it was so relaxing! They had paddle boards and canoes tied at the dock as well as a private beach with chairs set up. Every morning this is where we drank our coffee :) On Saturday we went hiking at a Fahenstock Mountain 20 minutes away for some fresh NY air. We would definitely visit again! We had an amazing time at this house. We went with three other couples and had plenty of space. The house was clean and extremely spacious. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a getaway from a big city! Check-in and check-out was easy, and the hosts were beyond welcoming and accommodating. We had a great stay! The communication with Michele was great; no confusion. We were very comfortable in the cottage with everything we needed including new air conditioner units, towels, easy access to wifi, and kitchen amenities. We stayed here both on the way up and down from Albany it was located great from NYC really close to the parkway and some nice trails. On the way back we told Michele we will be arriving late and she made sure that the path to the house was lighted and the ac running in the house which we thought was really considered

This gem of an air bnb was a life savor! Phil was the absolute best host and I have experienced a lot of Air bnb hosts. I am a chef and was in the area to cater an event. It was a stressful time of coordinating and executing in an unfamiliar environment. Being at Phil and Kathy's place completely set me at ease. Not only are the surroundings breath taking, it was cool in the heat of summer, very clean and most comfortable. Phil could not do enough for me. I feel lucky that I had this hidden Paradise to treat to during such an involved few days off work. I can't wait to come back!

Phil and Kathy's place is a real find. We stayed here for a week while visiting family nearby, and we are so glad we did. The space is light, comfortable, and secluded. It's well-designed with plenty of light. Everything is how it looks in the photos, and very comfortable. Phil was incredibly responsive to any questions and needs we had and gave great tips for our forays into the city. Like most things in the area, it's a drive to pretty much anything, but we knew that and it was wonderful for us. Great place to rest and recharge. Our only regrets were that we weren't around more to use the pool and hang out on the deck and grill some food! Highly recommend. We'll be back for sure.

Phil and Kathy's place is an adventure into the hills of Northern PA. It is such a peaceful and quiet location, the place they provide is very comfortably furnished and surprisingly large with a patio directly outside the unit that was great to use. I met Kathy briefly, but my wife and I enjoyed a great conversation with Phil, who filled us in on where to go for the necessities and how to get around. If you want to get away from it all, see nature up close, and still be convenient to the nearby cities, this is a great place to do it. Overall recommended.

Wow! Where to start? In no specific order, Beautiful, Welcoming, Comfortable, Private, just an AMAZING experience. Two business associates and I rented for a weekend continuing education seminar in Mt. Kisco, NY (20 min away). This was by far the BEST Airbnb experience I've ever had. From the moment our hosts greeted us at the door we felt so welcomed. It was like we were visiting family and it carried through the weekend. These are two of the most genuinely kind people you will ever meet. The house is gigantic and well appointed. It was kind of like staying in an art gallery :-) So many interesting pictures, sculptures and stories. Beds were so comfy and the windows looking out onto the garden, so peaceful. We had some really interesting conversations with Cindy about her fascinating work and one of my colleagues vowed to enter into a new career path and return to train with her. All three of us have decided we will be going back and renting with Michael & Cindy again just to visit :-) I've stayed at other airbnb rentals but this was truly B&B-style accommodations, complete with an amazing breakfast both mornings. I can't say enough about how wonderful this trip was. Thank you Michael & Cindy!!

Cindy and Mike are one of the best hosts we've ever had! First, they're fantastic at welcoming us. Very attentive to all our needs and we went over a thorough walkthrough of the property. This house is HUGE, so you need to join the tour! Rooms are spacious and there's several areas to sit to chat, watch TV, read, etc. The pool area was perfect during the hot days! Cindy even made us breakfast and made sure we had access to snacks or anything we needed. During our down times, we enjoyed Cindy's company. You can talk with her for hours! Everyone in my party was super happy with the experience. This just became my go-to place when visiting Somers. They also have another property in Tuscany (look through their profile). We were so happy with the stay in Somers, that we already booked the trip to Italy! So, we're double dipping in this awesome hosting experience. You will never go wrong staying here and with them. I would highly recommend them!

Karen was very nice and did a great job of making me feel welcome and at home. The lodging was spacious and comfortable. A beautiful area of lakes and small towns.

Karen's place was fabulous - although it was a private room, it felt like an entire apartment. There was a ton of privacy and a lovely living room to relax in in addition to the nice bathroom, kitchen, and bedroom. Karen went above and beyond her hosting duties and provided us nice recommendations for places nearby to visit as well as food and drinks in the fridge upon arrival, which were delicious and definitely appreciated! We definitely recommend this place to anyone who would like to get away and enjoy the lovely natural scenery that Carmel provides.

It has been a real pleasure to stay at Karen's little one bedroom apartment for my transitional housing situation. It's cozy without feeling cramped, tastefully and comfortably furnished, and well located to have just the right blend of solitude and convenience. Karen and Alan are gracious hosts, with a genuine interest in making their guests feel welcome and comfortable. I couldn't have concocted a better opportunity if I were able to.

My boyfriend and I wanted an escape from city life and Karen's home fit the bill. It was a great location, not too far from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan, but far enough where you feel you're at a retreat in the country. Karen was extremely responsive from the beginning and flexible in terms of check in/out times. The property itself is perfect for one or two people with nice size rooms, and all the amenities you need. It is a new apartment and was very clean. There were a couple of quirks with the TV and shower but Karen was always available to answer any questions. There were many nice welcome treats to make us feel at home as well, and make the stay extra special. The best thing about this property is the land, and Karen's obvious knack for gardening/landscaping. It is a stone's throw away from a beautiful lake and many outdoor activities. I highly recommend the the Chuang Yen Monastery located just a 12 minute drive away for a unique and peaceful experience. The only downside was that both my boyfriend and I are allergic to cats and while we didn't see any during our stay, their presence was known in the apartment, as we had some reactions. If anyone is allergic, I would recommend bringing some medicine. We had a lovely time regardless, thank you Karen!

Convenient amenities such as Netflix and pandora, double oven as well as outdoor grill, large patio that was perfect for stargazing :). The Lodge at Putnam Valley is truly amazing! One of my best experiences on AirBNB all around. The house is wonderful. About an hour outside of New York and plenty of room for the five guests in my group. A rustic feel with a modern kitchen. The outdoor hot tub is a must. It was clean and well decorated. The property itself is enormous - much larger than I expected. There's great hiking within the property and several trails up the hill. The Lodge has several places to build a fire, sit back and look at stunning views of Putnam Valley. Him and Heather are responsive, gracious hosts. Book this! You won't regret it.

Absolutely amazing! Almost wish it was winter so we could have a fire in the great room. We had a blast and loved swimming and even caught a few of the late shooting stars from the Persids while sitting on the stargazing deck on the hill.

We found this house after a last minute cancellation on another rental and we couldn't have been any happier. Cute house with lots of interesting detail. Liz and Chris have a great eye. The home is comfortable and well organized. Heated bathroom floor and towel rack were an unexpected bonus. Bedding was super comfortable, my 5 year old couldn't wait to get to bed for the first time ever. Great location. 5 minutes from Taconic, maybe 20 minutes to Metro North and 15 minutes to restaurants, diner, large supermarket, everything you need. The only draw back is the 15 minute drive to Starbucks, but it's also a nice drive so it's also a Plus.

Liz's place was a perfect spot for our family getaway. It was cozy, warm, and well-stocked (particularly the kitchen). The house itself is charming, well-maintained, and exactly as described. It's tucked up on a hill in a quiet valley. Our dogs were comfortable in the basement when we had to go out, and the rooms were comfortable and spacious. Liz herself was fantastic to communicate with before the trip, answering my questions and providing ample information about the cottage. The only real drawbacks for us were that the road is fairly narrow and busy which made taking our dogs on walks a little tricky, and the lack of microwave meant reheating leftovers was not very easy. Overall, fantastic stay, and we would love to come back!

This place was a dream for our family. Upon arriving it was exactly as described in pictures, only more beautiful. We fell in love right away. We were central to many different stores, coffee, restaurants, etc. We discovered a place in Kent (2 miles away) that was a deli, small convenience store and they even made special coffees! They open at 6 am so if you get in late the night before you can pick up your essentials as soon as you wake up! Only a few minutes drive in either direction took us to a new adventure. We were in NY to visit family and they were about a 30 minute drive, easy to get to. We drove into the city twice during our week stay, only took a little over an hour to get there and the drive was beautiful. The house itself was easy to get around and felt very much like we were at home. The beds were VERY comfortable, the kitchen was easy to get around (we cooked every day) and the shower was great. We explored the property around us and my 7 yr old daughter played in the yard quite a bit. If we are fortunate enough to come back soon, we will definitely be staying here again.

Liz was exceptionally well to communicate with from my first message to her. She had a thoughtful and clear house manual that was sent to me prior to the trip that outlined in great detail all the ins and outs of her home which I appreciated so much. Her house went above and beyond my expectations, and pictures truly do not do it justice. I have stayed at many airBnbs, but Liz went to next level to make the stay very comfortable, providing extra amenities that were pleasant surprises. Her house was gorgeous, and immaculately cleaned . Decoration looks like it stepped out from a page of an interior decorating magazine, with personal touches that made it feel like a true home and escape from the city. I was able to get a lot of work done and then relax in her home. I can say with honestly my best airBNB experience thus far. Truly an incredible and beautiful place and I cannot wait to return. If you are looking for a quiet comfortable cottage convienent to NYC and in the beauty of the HUDSON River Valley this is the place. Master Bedroom is spacious and comfortable. The twin guest room is adorable, and both bathrooms are very nice. The downstairs bathroom even has a heated tile floor!!! We grilled steaks out one evening and had breakfast with coffee and pastry's every morning in the fully equipped kitchen. Would stay here again and would recommend it to anyone. My parents who went with me are 79 and 85 yrs old respectively and the house was perfect for them. Bedroom and bath being on the first floor was key.

Our stay was so amazing. The house and host were absolutely above and beyond. I would 100% recommend them both!!! Thank you again liz for the great experience.
