  • Beautiful cabin and best view in Tahoe.

    Jiani2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is gorgeous!!! Views for miles and beautiful Windows in the bedrooms to see the lake all day and night! A top notch kitchen with everything you could possibly need!! Plus the downstairs bonus room with a pool table, wet bar and family seating was awesome! I would love to stay here again in the summer or winter. It sleeps 12 and we were Only 4, but it was quiet and private. Lovely home!! Thank you for sharing with us!

  • It's a great place with an amazing view.

    George2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful views of the lake ! This home comes with all you can think of when it comes to the kitchen ! So don’t over pack with pots. Come ready with food and snakes because the nearest store is 30 min away. All the main attractions are around 10 minutes away so its perfect ! Differently recommend this home and will soon be back 😊

    Carol2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • The view from the balcony and the dining table are stunning! We thoroughly enjoyed our trip. The kitchen is well equipped for large gatherings and the large table did squeeze in 12 on the night we had that many. The grill is a very large Weber model with extra propane tank available. There are beds for 12 as advertised. The master bedroom has an amazing, new spa-like master bath with both a tub and a spacious walk-in shower. In the summer through September, the sun rises far enough north that you can leave the shades up -- no direct sunlight but lots of light to wake you up. Did not test the sauna. Direct TV works well -- lots of screens -- but why watch when you've got nature to explore.? Both our Verizon and AT&T phones functioned well -- actual wifi is pitiful so best to use your phone as a hotspot if you want a connection for your computer. I wouldn't choose this house as a "work on vacation" house unless you can live by phone alone. The house itself is part of a not-fully-developed subdivision from the 1970's -- the road below the house is abandoned, but if you are adventurous, you can walk down to it, head north, and eventually find your way to Meek's Bay beach -- does require a little walking on the highway so not for youngsters or strollers -- about 2.5 miles one way. The house -- especially the bathrooms -- were fully updated recently. Note that they are very serious about the 4-car limit -- perhaps that is more of an issue Nov 1 - May when you can't park on road? -- and 12 person limit. Thank you to the family who shared their house with us. TurnKey provided fast service for an electrical issue with stove.

    Jay2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • The house ha spectacular views of the lake. You will sacrifice water access for views. Kitchen is very well equipped. A grill in the patio is a plus. Turnkey was very quick at responding back to any questions we had. I would definitely rent the place again. Please take care of it if you decide to rent.

Whether you're visiting Tahoe to ski, hike, or hang out, the place my grandparents built should work. Our cabin is located close to Meeks Bay trailhead, beach, and awesome West Shore backcountry ski terrain. Newly updated bathroom, wood flooring throughout, and now Wifi for your convenience. A note about winter use: This home is situated in a fairly remote area, away from many services. It is not a "full service" accommodation. Best rented by those looking for a more rustic experience.
This is a small, clean comfortable home built by my grandparents in the 50's. Two small bedrooms and one bathroom. Updated and managed by us for the past 30 years, we've received many compliments over the years about how quiet, easy and cozy it is. Nothing fancy, but all the essential amenities are there. The fireplace is fully functional, but we discourage fires. Air quality in the Tahoe Basin has suffered in recent years because of wood fires, and a fireplace is not an efficient means of heating the house. We have a gas floor furnace and five space heaters for this small house. If you must have a fire, you will need to supply your own wood. No TV cable. Limited television reception, but lots of DVD's and books. Feel free to keep any book you start and cannot finish before you depart. In winter, plow service comes only once per day, usually before noon. Late arrivals may encounter snow accumulation in storm situations.
We're a 10 minute walk from perhaps the best sandy beach on the lake. Free pedestrian entry. Great views, great light.
  • A very good value. Great location and hosts.

    Kihiro2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place!!! Great location!

    Samantha2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Scott was a great host. Response time was really quick. He was proactive at sending me important check-in and check-out information Which made the process painless. He was great at recommendations for dinner in the area. The place itself was great and perfect location to ski multiple mountains. We all enjoyed the luxurious shower after a hard day of skiing. I would recommend staying at Scott’s place.

    Scott2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, beautiful view of the lake from the house, can’t ask for more :)

    Yanlin2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Scott was an excellent host. He was quick to respond to my questions, and the information he gave (about safety, check-in/checkout procedures, etc) were all very timely and helpful. Overall, we had a great time. Our daughter didn't want to leave when the weekend was over! Also, despite his warnings about the home not being truly child-proof, we found that Scott's place was actually safer for our children than our own home (being tidier and cleaner than our place). This might say more about us than anything else, though ...

    Jonathan2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at Scott's. The cabin is close to Vikingsholm, accessible via a lovely trail down the mountain to the lake. The four of us felt warm, cozy, safe, and had plenty of room and amenities for cooking, cleaning, and entertaining ourselves.

    Philip2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Our family LOVED our time here. The kitchen is fully stocked with any dish, pot, pan, etc you may need. The rooms were comfortable and the bathroom/shower was beautiful and clean. Scott helped us with directions when we got caught in a storm and had to arrive several hours late in the dark. He answered questions before we even had a chance to ask them. We hope to visit again soon.

    Rebekah2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • We couldn’t be more pleased with our recent stay in this mountain cabin. It’s in a gorgeous spot, super clean and comfortable. We hope to return!

    April2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Quinn - we loved your home! I had friends coming from NYC and the Bay there were a few who had never been to Tahoe before . The hot tub was clutch , the wood stoves were cozy, and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to cook . We did several hikes to the beach as well. Would love to rent again .

  • This place has a beautiful lake view in a quiet neighborhood. It’s a prime location in Tahoma and not too far from South Lake Tahoe. It is a sweet cabin with a great hot tub. There is a lot of sleeping spaces which is great for large groups. Comes with a great full kitchen.

    Maddie2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Super awesome location & house!

    Kaila2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • This place was very comfortable for our group of five. It's our second time staying there. The main appeals for us are: - location: really nice view of the lake, 4 or 5 minute walk to a gorgeous beach (Meeks Bay) - beach access - nice deck for sitting and enjoying the view, the breeze, etc - hot tub on the deck - having 3 bathrooms and 4 bedrooms We would book again!

    Joe2019-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place! Just a couple cabins from lake, great views of lake through the pines, and terrific balcony to enjoy our breakfast every day. The kitchen is lightly stocked to help (spices, oil, etc.). If there’s something specific you require, bring it, but we found it was well prepared for us. The dishwasher was great to have for our family of four. Very spacious and multi-leveled so you can have some privacy if with more than one family. Very homey kind of place. If you’re looking for modern amenities this might not be it, but if you’re looking for a place of comfort, where you can relax and put your hair down, enjoy being with one another, this is it!! Thank you for everything!!

STUNNING PANORAMIC LAKE VIEWS, MAGICAL WEST SHORE! Lake and mountain views all around. We are right near beautiful Meeks Bay Resort. Winter wonderland!! Close to Homewood Ski resort, Granlibakken sledding Great rates for summer: (booking summer 2020 NOW!) Nearby is Meeks Bay beach and resort which has a beautiful child friendly white sand beach. A new amazing paved biking/walking path near house goes all the way down to the beach. This wonderful cycling/walking goes all the way toTahoe City!
OUTSTANDING RATES, GORGEOUS LAKE VIEW!! AN AMAZING LOCATION!! White sand beach, cobalt blue waters, calm and safe. *See rental terms below* We have a superbly comfortable, clean family home on the magical, lush west shore of Lake Tahoe above Meeks Bay Beach and Resort area. This is a home with a relaxing casual old-timey cabin atmosphere, not for you if you want new, modern, more formal luxury. Stunning gorgeous full lake and mountain views. The house has WIFI---and four bedrooms and two bathrooms. We have a brand new king bed, and a brand new queen bed!!! Very comfy and cozy. New gas insert fireplace. There are two lake view decks, one upstairs one downstairs. Not a party house. A place to relax and enjoy the beautiful Lake Tahoe area. In warmer season you can walk down to the best white sand beach in Tahoe at Meeks Bay Resort, open to public. In winter enjoy snowshoeing, skiing, boarding. WINTER SEASON: Please have AWD/four Wheel drive vehicle(s) or always carry chains. Never put on chains? Learn (your local tire shop or you tube tutorials) and practice before heading to the mountains. Winter in the Sierras can be unpredictable weather! We keep the lake environment clean with our beautiful new gas insert fireplace in the living room. Open efficiency kitchen, with a small oven/stove, and a dining area seating 8 (with our extra chairs) with beautiful views of the lake and mountains. All linens and basic kitchen supplies etc are provided. Down comforters on all beds, cotton linens provided. You will not want to leave. Upper deck off of living and dining room has outdoor table and chairs for the warmer months (not available in cold/winter time) OTHER THINGS TO CONSIDER: In the Lake Tahoe basin, Emerald Bay Rd/Hwy 89 was built long ago and is the only road around the lake. It hugs the shore of the lake all the way around. Most all homes that are close to the lake shore where you can walk to the lake, such as our home, are near this road, so there will be road noise heard. If you want total quiet, look for a house back away from the lake in the forest. We are located on a hillside up above Lake Tahoe. The house is split level with living room/kitchen on the top floor where you enter the house from the street. Since we are on a sloped hillside, the house does not have a traditional flat yard area for very young children. The nearby Meeks Bay beach is best for children's play. Small children? We recommend that you bring a baby gate to block off the stairs. Our cabin is in the Tahoe basin which is a forested wilderness area with many types of naturally occurring critters such as ants, squirrels, raccoons, the occasional bear, birds, and much more. This is part of the natural environment. HERE IS A COPY OF OUR RENTAL CONTRACT FOR YOU TO REVIEW. Our neighborhood is called Glenridge. It is a relatively small housing area with a quiet, peaceful ambiance. If you are looking for a family place, this is it. Many of the homes and owners have been there since the late 1970's so it is a well-cared, friendly area. The roads are county plowed in the winter. Below our Glenridge housing area is "Emerald Bay Road/89" which runs all the way around the lake right near the shore of the lake. At peak times in summer some traffic noise can be occasionally be heard. A great location...YOU CAN WALK DOWN THE WOODSY PATH, CROSS OVER EMERALD BAY ROAD, AND WALK TO WHITE SAND BEACH at Meeks Bay Beach and Resort (not in winter). Take a look at their website! GORGEOUS! A wonderful paved BIKE PATH begins near our house in Glenridge that goes along Emerald Bay Road/89 all the way to Tahoe City. A great path for a family bike ride, walking or workout. (Bike rentals available in the area) Hike into Desolation wilderness near house. Many dining options, from very casual to upscale, are along the west shore of Lake Tahoe. There are many things to do on the west shore, but it's charm is the woodsy, low key, old-Tahoe atmosphere.
  • We had an amazing time with incredible views of the lake. We loved how the bathrooms were stocked in case you forgot something. The welcoming bottle of wine was a nice touch too! We will rent again soon!

  • We enjoyed our stay very much. The view was beautiful and the home is close driving distance to quite a few trails and Tahoe City. The kitchen was super well stocked and they provided access to quite a few "I forgot" items like charger cords, shampoo, razors, etc. The directions were very clear. Overall great place to stay!

  • Hi all We went to Monica and John's home for our 40th wedding Anniversary and had a wonderful weekend with tremendous memories. View from front, upper deck unbelievable- when the full moon came up over the lake, it was surreal. Monica has excellent communication and everything went smoothly- not sure what else to add. • We really enjoyed our 4 days there. That is a nice location for getting around Tahoe, and we really enjoyed the house and especially the deck and lake view, every morning and evening ! Mark and Kim.

  • Wonderful view and great Patio.

    Natalie2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • The place has good view of the lake and the mountains. Clean house.

    Stephy2019-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for four nights. The view from the deck and windows was beautiful. The neighborhood was very quiet. The pellet stove was fun to use and was a nice way to warm the house. We had lots of space. We bought groceries from the Safeway in Tahoe City and used the kitchen every day. Very convenient. The access is through a fairly long stairwell with a landing in the middle at the side of the house. My husband used the snow shovel on hand to shovel the stairwell and that made it easier to use the stairs. We would love to stay here again next time we are in Lake Tahoe.

    Linda2019-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time at this cabin. The wood burning stove made this trip even more cozy. Major hikes were only a 15 minute ride away and the lake view from the deck was incredible.

  • Space was nice, quiet. It was small which made it cozy, very private and to ourselves. The bed was very comfortable. It had a heater which was a plus. The only thing that was confusing was the door lock but I just reread the instructions and I made it work. Would recommend to anyone who is staying for a nice romantic trip.

  • Such a cute little space. Everything was clean. Had Netflix and other tv options. Everything worked great. Heater was cozy. Hot water with great pressure. Everything was so precious inside. The location was great and quiet and safe. Would recommend. Really feel like the price was a steal! Would 100% stay again.

    Bailee2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • It’s an amazing little cabin perfect for two people or a couple. They have the place perfectly stocked to cook small meals and there’s little touches like extra pillows and a hairdryer which I totally forgot. Keep in mind that there isn’t a dishwasher so if you plan on cooking regularly during your stay, then you’ll also have to dishes regularly. We would definitely book this again if we plan on going to Tahoe!

    Leah2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Maus was the perfect base for Lake Tahoe, it was stylish, clean and cosy. We loved how the owners have made the most of the small space and it had everything that we needed. Thanks for a lovely stay!

  • Our group of 12 loved this stay for our weekend getaway! Perfect amount of space and sleep arrangements for our large friend group, and breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe from the kitchen and balcony. It was easy to find, and is close to Homewood and many other Tahoe locations for winter fun! They supplied tons of sleds with the house, and it was an amazing stay from our experience!

  • This place was insanely amazing! I and my family friends loved every bit of it. The views from the balcony were extremely picturesque and made us feel very relaxing. The house itself is extremely well maintained. Every floor has a balcony that opens up to Lake/Forest views. The game room is filled with video and board games. Overall it's an amazing place to stay and if I have to go to Tahoe again I would book this place in a heartbeat.

Welcome to our beautiful rustic home above Meeks Bay on the West Shore of Tahoe! It's a cozy two story house located in a quiet neighborhood with great lake views. The house is just a few minutes to the best beach around at Meeks Bay Resort which has beautiful clear blue shimmering water and is great for kids! The house is also great for skiing/boarding-close 4 mi. to Homewood Mountain Resort! House Rules: see rental contract below. Booking Fri to Fri for SUMMER dates!! enter dates-see pricing!
Our home has a unique round structure with 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths which makes for some amazing panoramic views not only from the deck, but from the inside as well. All natural beams are visible in the ceilings and give it a very rustic look up to the top peek. It feels like a rustic and comfortable cabin perched up in the sky with awesome views! (Our location is not recommended if you are planning to go to the casinos as that is a 40 or more min. drive.) It is in a quiet family neighborhood. On the back side the rooms back up to the forest for a restful night's sleep. The master bedroom is upstairs with a private bath, separate sink area and private deck area. The living room, dining room and kitchen all have great views of the lake. Downstairs there is a game room with a pool table with two bedrooms off of it as well as a full bath with a laundry room with a door separating it from the bathroom. There are stairs off the street to get up and into the entry of the house but this allows for our great expansive views! During winter the main source of heat is from two wood burning stoves. We also have electric wall heaters. Wood and kindling are supplied. We ask our renters to use the wood stoves (as electric heat gets very expensive!)
There are many friendly families in our area that have been there for many generations and it's a quiet peaceful area. We love the kid friendly aspect of the neighborhood and its proximity to everything great about Lake Tahoe! It is minutes to Meeks Bay beach (which is walkable) a few miles to Tahoma and 4 miles Homewood Mountain Resort. It's 15 minutes to Emerald Bay and 10 miles to Tahoe City!
  • This is an ideal wooden cabin for up to eight people. Linda was a attentive host and stayed in touch as required throughout our stay. The views are wonderful and we loved using the wood fireplaces. We had a great stay and would go again in a jiffy. We had four seniors in our group and two kids. They had no problems with the stairs inside and out but if you have People in your party with difficulty climbing stairs, this might not be the place for you. Otherwise I highly recommend it.

  • We had a wonderful time in the Cabin. Our group was 4 people, two couples, and we had plenty of extra space. You are located almost half way between South Lake Tahoe and the north side of the lake. Everything was as described, and the kitchen was well stocked! We were able to make breakfast every morning without any trouble. Highly recommend this Airbnb!

It has all the amenities you could want for a relaxing stay. The wood-burning stoves were warm and definitely gave that cozy cabin feel. Linda was very responsive and gave detailed instructions about everything. Would definitely recommend her place.

  • What a wonderful place to stay! The views are spectacular and the layout is great for big parties. It had everything we needed. Can't wait to visit again. Thank you!

  • This house is incredible. The views are breathtaking - the snow covered trees, the lake, the mountains, wow. There was so much space! Two spacious living rooms, a dining room table to fit at least 10, a fully stocked kitchen with all the cookware, dishes, and utensils you could ask for, two refrigerators and a mini fridge, a game room, two masters, a hot tub... I could go on. We weren’t sure what to actually expect before arriving but we were blown away. It’s a short drive (15 minutes) to Emerald Bay, which you have to go see if you’re staying here. What a view! And one of the smaller ski places is also a short drive (10 minutes) which was super convenient for us. We did experience a negative interaction with a neighbor who didn’t want us sledding on a hill near his property on Christmas, but we found other hills to sled on since we were snowed in and couldn’t drive to the official sledding hills. No one came to shovel the driveway as was promised and we couldn’t get in touch with TLP to find out more (again, Christmas time). But there were sleds in the garage which was a bonus. Overall I would definitely recommend staying here!

  • Wonderful place and much better than in the photos!

  • Amazing property! My family had a blast and it was a home away from home. Had everything we needed and more. Would definitely book again.

  • What a wonderful stay! I will gladly stay with Tahoe Luxury again and recommend to all my friends. Communication was great, and whenever we needed anything they went out of their way to help. Clogged toilet? Running out of shampoo? All fixed within an hour! 5 stars!

    Zain2019-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • The house was gorgeous and view breathtaking. But the best part of this rental was the service. We had a large storm blow through, dropping over a foot of snow in one night (adding to the snow from the day). The roads and driveways in the community hadn't been plowed, which prevented us from leaving. Someone at Tahoe Luxury Properties was available on a Sunday to take our call, and within an hour a plow was working through the roads, and someone came specifically to shovel the driveway and decks. Their service is excellent. I would choose one of their properties over another for this alone.

    Katie2019-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible location with a breathtaking view of the bay/lake and mountains right from the living room and also from some bedrooms. The house was well-equipped and there were no issues with communication. Would highly recommend to anyone traveling to Lake Tahoe if you can afford the place.

FILTERED LAKE VIEW + HOT TUB + POOL TABLE
Welcome to Irongate Lodge—with space for everyone in the main house and separate guest house. Quality and comfort describe this Meeks Bay retreat with an open floor plan. An abundance of well-placed picture windows let in the natural light and allow opportunities to appreciate the lake views. Through the large craftsman front door, you’ll enter the family room, with filtered lake views, beautiful stone floors, a gas river rock fireplace, and leather sofa sleeper. A rustic family-style dining table with six chairs and a long bench is the perfect spot to gather for meals and good conversation. Featuring filtered views of picturesque Lake Tahoe and doors and log trim hand painted by a local artist, the stunning kitchen includes seating for four at the breakfast bar, a Thermador gas cooktop, double ovens, a full complement of cooking utensils—everything you need to create homecooked meals. The dishwasher makes cleanup easy. The living room has plenty of seating for the group. Put your feet up and enjoy the ambiance as the fire crackles in the wood burning river rock fireplace. There is a large flat panel TV and more filtered views of the Lake. Off the living room is the huge deck with ample seating. Lounge and admire more filtered lake views as you make memories and take photos of the scenery. There is a gas barbeque when you’re ready to grill something tasty. Feel free to wander the property. Irongate Lodge’s grounds are amazing, with lovely stone walkways, artisan metal gates, a hot tub with a craftsman gazebo, and plenty of space to explore. When you’re ready to turn in, the main house includes two bedrooms. The master has a queen bed, attached full bath, and a flat panel TV with satellite service. The second bedroom has two queen beds and a TV with a DVD player. There is no satellite service in this bedroom. The second bathroom is just across the hall along with the laundry room. You’ll find the hot tub outside, between the main house and the guest quarters/game room. This space is detached from the main house and includes a pool table, flat panel TV, a queen bed, two twin beds (day bed), and a full bath. When you’re ready to venture out, many Lake Tahoe activities and sights are right at your doorstep! Your home away from home is close to Meeks Bay, with a terrific sandy beach and paddleboard and boat rentals. Located on National Forest Land, the Meeks Bay shoreline is popular for its beautiful scenery, sprawling clean beaches, and easy access. The area offers a high concentration of recreation opportunities including camping, swimming, biking, boating and hiking into the nearby Desolation Wilderness. Ed Z’Berg – Sugar Pine Point State Park contains one of the finest remaining natural areas on Lake Tahoe. With nearly two miles of lake frontage, the park has dense forests of pine, fir, aspen, and juniper. Another attraction is the Hellman-Ehrman Mansion (also known as Pine Lodge), a summer home built in 1903. Winter visitors to the park will find over 20 kilometers of marked cross country ski trails and a heated restroom in the General Creek campground. D.L. Bliss State Park is open to vehicular traffic in the summer, where you can enjoy swimming or scuba diving in the crystal clear water of Lake Tahoe, picnicking, relaxing on the warm sand of Lester Beach or Calawee Cove, and access to hiking the Rubicon Trail, Lighthouse Trail, and Balancing Rock Trail. Lester Beach is a popular location to launch your kayak, paddleboard, or canoe. You won’t want to miss the icon of Lake Tahoe, Emerald Bay, a short drive away. Emerald Bay State Park boasts 360-degree picturesque views that encompass Emerald Bay, Fannette Island, Eagle Falls, and Vikingsholm Castle. Just a few miles down the road you’ll find Homewood, Alpine Meadows, and Squaw Valley Ski Resorts. The Magical West Shore has great options for whatever you fancy: snowshoeing, snowboarding, downhill or cross-country skiing, sledding, and more! Vacation Home Rental Permit Number 2100
  • Great property that is conveniently located between Homewood and the casinos. Plenty of space in the main house and loved having the separate lodging area adjacent to the hot tub incase anyone wanted to go to sleep early. Added plus that the sofas in the house all pulled out into sleepers and there were plenty of blankets/heaters/fireplaces to stay warm. As described in the confirmation packet/check in instructions (which are super clear and awesome) BRING HOT TUB TOWELS - we thankfully brought a few extra which was necessary once it started snowing (there's a little path between the house and the tub so we bundled up and ran into the house). Lastly, this is a FULLY STOCKED KITCHEN - plenty of pots and pans, spices, oil, etc. Honestly the best kitchen I've seen in an airbnb! Highly recommend staying here and am looking forward to renting again!

  • Had a great stay at this place! The BBQ was already set up and easy to use and easy instructions for using the hottub. We also found a hidden path to walk from the cabin to the beach! Will def return here some day☺️

  • We wanted a quiet getaway with beautiful snow and mountains in a comfortable cabin, and this place was perfect! We ended up getting snowed in for the entire stay, which was fine with us, as the house has lovely views, a comfortable layout, a nice hot tub, and comfy beds. Hope to repeat this trip again someday at this house!

    Eric2019-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect getaway in a beautiful location. Just a short walk to the lake, and plenty of trees and nature in the surrounding area. The hot tub was excellent!

    Benjamin2018-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • What a treat the Irongate Lodge is. I spent the weekend here with 4 of my girlfriends to get away from life and destress a bit. The house was so cozy that we never left except for a quick walk down to the lake. We spend hours on the hot tub and on the patio overlooking the lake. The house was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed for a weekend in. We hope to be back for another visit soon!

  • This home provides the most beautiful view and access to the lake. nothing but the sound of the lake and the birds. Everyone was taken aback by the constant views from sunrise to sunset, even a full moon's glow on the lake. The stairs would be tough for some persons, or in the snow, but we all managed fine. Will plan on renting again.

  • Insane views. Super homey. Easy communication. What more can you ask? Will come back with full family.

  • TLP is super professional. They have an app and are available to answer all questions upon booking. The house is well-designed and -appointed, though not totally updated. More importantly, the view is stunning and the location extremely peaceful. You have to descend 40 steps to reach the house, which we were not aware of, while there is an elevator it’s not for guest use. We requested help to take our luggage back up at checkout and they sent someone over to do the heavy lifting. We will definitely go to TLP for future rentals in Tahoe!

  • This place was perfect for our family of 3. Nice area away from all the craziness in south Tahoe with a great drive back and forth. And the bathtub was my girls favorite part of the house. It was really relaxing for them. And the backyard was my favorite. Plenty of room to play and have a lil snowball fight.

  • Great place for our getaway trip to Tahoe from the Bay Area. They had all the necessary amenities we needed, and the place was very clean. It was a cozy space, perfect for couples or small/young families. It's close to many hiking trails along the SW part of Lake Tahoe. Not too many groceries/restaurant options very close by, so we utilized the kitchen a lot (got groceries during the day).

    * * * IT IS NOW WINTER: A few things to note: the entrance to this home has 19 stairs. The detached garage is at the street level. Winter (Nov 1 to May 1) there is parking for two cars only in the garage, and 1-2 more in front of the garage if they are compact vehicles. The road leading to the house is somewhat steep, with many switch-backs, so we recommend four-wheel drive vehicle and snow tires/real chains during the winter months. * * * If you are not accustomed to, and prepared for mountain driving in Sierra snow, please consider this information carefully. * * * Enjoy the best of the West Shore with panoramic lake views from every room in this Meeks Bay home. Relax and take in the peaceful surroundings and breathtaking views from the large, sunny deck of this secluded home. Soak up the amazing views in the brand new hot tub. This lovely home is located at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac on a bluff overlooking Lake Tahoe. There are spectacular views of Meeks Bay to the north, Rubicon Bay to the south and the entire lake from the 700 square foot deck. There are two patio sets that both seat six. The house is surrounded by National Forest Service land, providing complete privacy and tranquility. A wall of windows in the great room provides one-of-a-kind views of the lake and surrounding forest, with a beautiful exposed-beam cathedral ceiling above and a round wood-burning fireplace in the center of the room. The open floor plan and large dining table (seating 10) are perfect for guests to enjoy lazy mornings and cozy evenings together. There are also two bar stools at the breakfast bar. The living room has beautiful vintage French leather sofas, too! The loft upstairs, with a stunning view of Rubicon Bay, can be used for reading, playing board games, doing jigsaw puzzles, or catching up on work. With five bedrooms on two floors, this house is a perfect retreat for groups of friends and families. Upstairs are two bedrooms, each with queen beds, and one shared bathroom. Downstairs you'll find three bedrooms, one with a king bed and its own bathroom, one with a queen bed and its own bathroom, and one with two twin beds. All bedrooms have lake views. The house sleeps 10 comfortably. There is a sofa sleeper in the loft which can accommodate 1 additional adult, or 2 children. This house has many extra amenities for your comfort and convenience. In addition to the two-car garage with a locking door, you'll have additional street parking when there's no snow on the ground. The TV in the living room has an Apple TV for streaming movies and shows from Netflix (and any other apps you have a subscription to). Both TVs (in the living room and an upstairs bedroom) are connected to DVD players. The house has DVDs, magazines, board games, decks of cards, and jigsaw puzzles for everyone to enjoy. The house gets good cell service and there's satellite internet via wi-fi for email and light web browsing. The fully stocked kitchen offers essential ingredients (cooking oil, salt, pepper, spices, sugar, tea, coffee, and condiments) and a huge selection of pots, pans, small appliances, and bake ware. There's also a massive, high-quality gas grill on the deck. Two well-behaved dogs are allowed with a $100 fee per dog and signed pet agreement. A few things to note: the entrance to this home has 19 stairs. The detached garage is at the street level. Winter (Nov 1 to May 1) there is parking for two cars only in the garage, and 1-2 more in front of the garage if they are compact vehicles. The road leading to the house is somewhat steep, so we recommend four-wheel drive during the winter months. No parties permitted. Quiet and respectful groups only.

  • Beautiful stay and a beautiful house with amazing views. Would highly recommend

    Misty2019-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • We celebrated a group of us turning 30! The house was spacious and the views were amazing! Loved having the hot tub and drinking coffee on the patio in the mornings! We went grocery shopping and should have bought more paper towels but there was plenty of soap, toilet paper, shampoo and conditioner. We did buy starter logs for the fire. Be careful having windows open with the fire going as it could get Smokey. Just shut the windows/doors. Uber took a long time to finally get one so don’t bank on getting a ride to south lake from the house. Overall great trip!

    Stormie2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Booked this house for a group of 8 to celebrate my birthday and was not disappointed. The views alone make this house worth every penny. The house was fully stocked with toiletries and kitchen and all the pots/pans we needed. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone and hope to come back soon!

    Erin2019-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • This home had everything we needed. It’s location was perfect! The view is amazing. We are definitely thinking about returning next year! I would recommend this for your next trip !

    Ana Laura2019-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • Our group loved this place! The best part was the panoramic view with the hot tub. Although the kitchen space was tight (as expected from photos), we were still able to serve food for the group. We were well informed of the storm coming with warnings about closures which helped the group prep the cars. If you're hitting up the place during a snow storm, you'll definitely need all wheel drive for the snow as the house is perched on a decently steep hill. Also having a garage was great due to the snow falling so we didn't have to scrape off any snow before we hit the slopes. Thanks for the amazing place!

    Kelley2019-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house in a great location with easy check in and check out. Bedrooms were spacious and the bathrooms had shampoo and conditioner, the kitchen was well stocked and the living room has great views. Only cons were that the kitchen is quite small and the internet was slow so Netflix would buffer every couple minutes.

Our home is close to Meeks Bay beach, Emerald Bay, boating, SUP and kayaking, hiking, and biking. You’ll love the location and home because it still today reflects on history during a time when the pace of life was much slower. The tranquility of staying on the lake in one of the original cabins built by the founding Editors of Readers Digest in 1959 will offer you peace and quiet with a rustic atmosphere. Our home is great for couples, families (with kids), and well behaved furry friends (pets)
This home is built on the lakefront and has a beautiful new pier for easy access to the lake.
  • Absolutely loved my time at the cabin. The view from inside and the outdoor deck were spectacular. Being surrounded be trees on one side and lake Tahoe on the other was a dream come true. So peaceful and recharging.

We have a cozy one bedroom cabin ( not an apartment) above our detached garage that we have just finished remodeling. The 12 X 24 deck offers a small view of the lake and is a great place to relax and BBQ. Nearby within walking distance is the private beach and pier, a pizza restaurant and market. The cabin can only accommodate TWO people. Unfortunately it is just too small to accommodate any more than that.
  • Thankyou for hosting such an awesome weekend. We will definitely be back soon!

So many beautiful places to see and really close. Emerald Bay, Sugar pine State Park, Burton Creek to name a few. Very affordable.

  • THE BEST! Missy and Sandy are such gracious and welcoming hosts who go above and beyond to make you feel at home. Not only is their home absolutely stunning in build and location but also a bang for your buck. Missy is a fantastic cook, and they bring a nice fresh homemade breakfast every morning. The place is super clean and private, my husband and I eloped and came up for a little mini-honeymoon and were in and out at different times but had key access and private entry. Definitely planning to visit again soon!

  • Great homey experience! Literally one minute away from Homewood ski resort. The hosts are very helpful and kind. They introduce themselves and make sure to answer any questions you have. After skiing all day you can relax your muscles in the jacuzzi on the porch. It has the hospitality of a cute bed and breakfast but on airbnb! Who would've thought. I haven't stayed at an airbnb that accommodates breakfast and and has so many cute amenities. Would definitely rebook! Thank you!

  • The guest house is far more spacious than the pictures showed, and there is a wonderful sense of privacy and security. The kitchen is fully equipped with all you could need to make dinner. The closet also had extra sheets, blankets, and towels, which was a nice touch for us since we stayed several nights. Next time we come up to Lake Tahoe, we now know where to stay!

    Tori2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location. Great for a private getaway.

  • Great place to stay, very comfortable, clean and all local information available on the folder.

  • Wonderful place to stay in a friendly neighborhood. We got to experience our first snowstorm (we’re from Hawaii) and this was the perfect place for it. There’s a system of trails off the cul de sac that we ventured down several times that seems well used by the neighborhood. Lots of other activities close by as well.

THE quintessential cozy cabin, great for a family or a romantic couples retreat! Centrally located, 10 min to Tahoe City & 10 min to Emerald Bay. Our block dead ends into Sugar Pine State Park - great for hiking, biking & cross country ski! There are many great trails to explore out the back door. The famous Rubicon Trail is even in the neighborhood. Homewood Ski less than 5 min drive. *Please inquire if you have pets before booking! Weekends are 2 night min **$100/nt is for last min weekdays
Our cabin is cute, cozy and meticulously maintained. It is stocked with all the necessities, from a BBQ, outdoor fire pit, a dartboard area and lots of family games. There is a queen bed with a tempurpedic mattress in the Master bedroom. The second bedroom is located upstairs and has two sleeping areas with a full bed and a full, comfy futon. The second story space is perfect for a couple, or for up to 4 kids (or 4 adults that are super comfortable with each other :) ). All beds have super soft linens, with cozy down comforters and soft down pillows. We just built a fence in the back, so the backyard is completely inclosed for any furry friends :) THINGS TO NOTE: There is a small, steep staircase leading up to the loft bedroom. May pose to be difficult for younger/older/disabled guests. The shower is small and older. It is kept clean but does have a bit of rust on the outside of the stall. If this bothers you, please choose a different place to stay. We have plans to renovate the bathroom in November :) A recent review stated there are “nails” sticking out of the doors. This is absolutely false. There are two beautiful old doors with old bolt decor. That’s the extent of the “nails.”
Tucked away on a quiet street that dead ends into Sugar Pine State Park! A 3 minute walk and you are on the park's beautiful trails, great for hiking, biking and cross country skiing!
  • Love this cabin! Great location, had everything we needed. My husband and I truly enjoyed our trip to Tahoe and this cabin was truly perfect.

  • It's a great place with great location, very calm and quiet area, if you like to get away from people this is a great place to do so.

  • Nice and cozy in a quiet neighborhood with a great yard. Good location!

    Nikolai2020-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • We completely fell in love with this cute and cozy little cabin. It was just me, my fiancé and our 7 year old daughter, the neighborhood is so cute and felt super safe. The dart board outside was loads of fun, and Hilary and Aiki’s secret little recommendation to Sugar Pine State Park was breathtaking in the snow, we found natural hills to sled down and had a fun putting in the snow. It’s walking distance to Lake Tahoe with amazing scenery. The neighbors were super friendly and our kids enjoyed each other’s company, which was so so sweet. I love how tiny this place is, the pictures really don’t do it justice, it’s way better in person. Newly renovated shower and very clean. We left a thing of olive oil for any future guests. The stove and oven worked perfectly for our planned meals and the living room is great for family games and watching cartoons. There is an electric fireplace and wall heaters to keep you toasty in the winter, and it’s gorgeous waking up with a cup of coffee looking outside either the front or backyard. Beds were extremely comfy and there were plenty of blankets throughout the home. I would recommend bringing extra toilet paper if you’re staying more than a few days, but other than that, this was an amazing birthday getaway. Hilary & Aiki responded swiftly and had amazing recommendations. Would highly recommend this spot to others and definitely wanna book again in the summer. Thank you so much for everything!

  • Super awesome host in Lake Tahoe. Good location for hiking and skiing. Very very cozy. Our family had an amazing time there in the forest. And good price, too.

  • Great place and definitely worth every penny.

    Adam2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Unfortunately, we didn't make it to the cabin due to weather. But we definitely have it on our list to visit another time (with less snow). Hillary and Aiki were super easy to communicate with and we're really accommodating when we wanted to come up a night early. (Though, like I mentioned, we never made it!) We will for sure try again!

  • This home was perfect for our week-day getaway. It has just enough space (the bathroom is tight but comfortable) and is very conveniently located. The neighborhood was really quiet and the home stayed nice and warm in the low temperatures.

  • My family (7 of us + 1 dog) stayed in this cozy cabin for our 2019 Thanksgiving holiday. There was plenty of space for all of us, and the cabin vibe met our winter wonderland expectations. The kitchen is fully stocked which was a great relief as we had a Thanksgiving feast to cook! The big round table fit all of us, which was fantastic. The location also turned out great since it was a short drive to Emerald Bay and Heavenly, which we did as a half day trip. The cabin is super close to the lake which was important for my family. Overall, this was a fantastic place to stay for our family vacation. Thanks, Sue!

    Maria2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Sue & Jay’s cabin was perfect. We received our code to check in through the mail along with a whole packet of pamphlets and maps of places to go and things to do around us. We also received a message with detail about every room and what was provided in the cabin. Check in was easy and they provide detailed instructions on how to do it. The cabin was very clean and we had everything we could possibly need. Extra towels, toilet paper, shampoo, paper towels, dish soap, pots and pans, all of it. There was six of us in total and we all felt very welcomed. There was enough space for all of us to be comfortable and enjoy our time together. We have already talked about coming back here! 10/10 recommend!

  • Great location if you want to be on the quiet side of the lake.

    Jeffrey2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • My friends and I had a good stay at Sue and Jay’s cabin. They response very warm and quick and accomodated our needs. Check-in was a breeze. They are very honest with their description of the house, so you know what you are expecting. Toiletries are complete, even has baby shampoo and soap which is a great touch because we have babies and kids with us. Thanks Sue and Jay!

    Kristine2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Plenty of space for my friends and I. The location was great, only a mile from a state park, short drive to Emerald Bay, and close to Chambers Landing. The house had plenty of bedrooms and toiletries. Some reviews mention the kitchen being small but it had plenty of space for us to make a large spread both nights.

    Megan2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy cabin in the woods with modern amenities! Fantastic location near great hikes and lovely beaches. Great dining options nearby as well. Kids loved the media room and horseshoes while we enjoyed the sunny deck!
