The Treehouse is an architecturally designed space for 2 with a private covered balcony running down one side with views over stunning gardens & countryside. Originally a famous printmakers studio, it is now a large & comfortably furnished light filled bolthole. There are floor to ceiling windows, (with blinds) a large living area with fully equipped kitchen. Upstairs is a romantic ensuite bedroom. The Treehouse is ideal for a relaxing break in a secluded location, 10 mins walk to Penzance.
Orchard Flower Farm is nestled within a beautiful valley just a few minutes drive from Penzance. The building is converted from an artist’s studio where the late Master printer, Hugh Stoneman produced work with highly acclaimed artists such as Sir Terry Frost, Patrick Heron, Sandra Blow and many others. The property itself is finished to a very high standard, including art work from the artists that originally worked in the space. With an open plan lay out, the Studio is light and airy, and with one wall comprising of floor to ceiling windows it allows uninterrupted views of the valley. With only the sounds of birdsong and water running in the stream, it is a perfect place to find peace and quiet. Guests also have full access to the 6 acres of land joined to the property and a wide range of walks in the surrounding area.
The studio is in a truly secluded position surrounded by 4 acres of wonderful Cornish gardens is located close to Penzance, the historic maritime port of Penzance, just 2 miles inland from the Cornish Coastline. St Ives, Lands End, Marazion, St Michaels Mount, Minack Theatre, Porthcurno Beach and the surfing beach of Sennen are all less than 10 mins drive away so there is plenty to see and do. West Penwith, the area of West Cornwall close to Penzance has lots of thriving and recommended, restaurants, bars and galleries to visit. Thi part of the world is well known for its stunning coastlines which are all accessible from the South West Coast Path. We also have some amazing tropical gardens. There's plenty to see and do - alternatively you can just chill with some magnificent views.
  • The treehouse was absolutely wonderful. The perfect place to relax and unwind. The place had everything we needed so we were able to cook in most nights very easily. We also got a lot of local advice from Emma and Linda which we explored during the days, even managed to do a lovely long walk in the sunshine (in march, a lovely surprise). The place was very clean and had a very comfy bed! Mainly it's waking up surrounded by nature that is the most relaxing and enjoyable part about this place! Definitely recommend!

  • It was our second time in Cornwall, and after a stay in a pretty basic flat in Penzance last time we decided we wanted something a bit out of town and in nature. This place fits the bill perfectly! Easy to get to, close to everything, but hidden away down a small lane to give you a very private and very beautiful space. You wake up in the morning overlooking the trees and fields with nothing around you but nature, it's a good way to wake up! The place is very clean and has all the amenities you need for a short or a long stay. A big kitchen is available so it really feels like a home away from home. Beds are comfortable, and you can watch the stars from the bed or the bathtub through the skylights. We had a stubborn little cat visiting a few teams who was just the sweetest. If you don't like cats he's very easy to shoo away and won't come back.. but we couldn't resist its fluffy cheeks so gave him lots of cuddles. The host provides a plethora of tips and suggestions for things to do nearby so you're never short on ideas. Highly recommended, would visit again, 10/10

***Currently we are not accepting any booking from those intending to travel down here on holiday. If you work in front line services and have found yourself homeless, please do enquire.*** Tucked up behind our brook is a heated garden cabin which is a haven of peace set to the backdrop of the babbling brook. This is an en-suite room set in the grounds of a 19th century Cornish Cottage, in an AONB area. There is a kettle and small fridge.
Covid-19: ***Currently we are not accepting any booking from those intending to travel down here on holiday. If you work in front line services and have found yourself homeless, please do enquire.*** Purpose built compact log cabin with pocket sprung double bed. Ideal for upto two, but can actually fit 4 by utilising the sofa bed, although you will lose the floor space then. The space is en suite with a toilet and wash basin and also has a clean and spacious walk in shower - little details that make a big difference. Your hosts are on hand just the same as if you were staying in a room in our cottage but you have the added privacy of being in the garden, and your own bathroom. The cabin doors open out onto a veranda, then down the steps you come to a grassed area, and access to our garden where you can enjoy a cup of tea by the brook, you can turn right and head up the main garden. Somewhere around is a very friendly little cat... If you are allergic to cats please message before booking to establish if this might be a potential problem for you. Generally the cat is not allowed in the cabin but may on occasions have visited guests in there. Please read our reviews to see what others have thought of the cabin, and the hosts
We are located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and are surrounded by public footpaths enabling you to explore the countryside and access some very old stones, wells etc. We are happy to discuss your itinery with you and make suggestions if you don't have one!

Our modern farmhouse-cottage is nestled in the quaint village of Madron, just a stones throw away from Penzance and St Ives. It boasts a beautiful view of St Michaels Mount and comfortably sleeps up to seven guests with all amenities provided. A perfect picturesque getaway...
Lanyon Cottage is part of a larger farmhouse which has stood in Madron for two centuries, with the cottage being recently modernised it caters wonderfully to families, couples and friends alike and all with an incredible view of St Michaels Mount... There are three double bedrooms and a double sofa bed in the lounge - a travel cot and high chair can also be provided. There is a beautiful conservatory with underfloor heating, perfect in summer and winter. The open plan lounge and kitchen space makes for perfect family and friend get together whilst the conservatory offers an idyllic quiet space to escape. There are an abundance of board games ready to keep the family entertained along with Netflix, Now TV and mainstream television. Fancy a book? Pick from the shelves packed with books for all ages! Note: the bath tubs are very deep and may not always be suited to guests who have mobility issues. We feel it is important that potential guests are aware of this. The shower is handheld over the bath but we will be installing a full walk-in shower (hopefully) in Winter 2018. If you’d like to bring a dog or two then that is absolutely fine but I’m afraid they can’t be left alone in the property - thank you.
Lanyon Cottage is fortunate to be tucked away from the everyday hustle and bustle without being cut off from the major routes in Cornwall. Lands End, St Ives, Penzance, Porthcurno and attractions such as Paradise Park are all within easy reach. However, if you're looking for an easy day then Lanyon Cottage is surrounded by countryside walks, standing stones and peace and quiet - it's the best of both worlds.
  • Great views and good location

    Karma2020-03-01T00:00:00Z

  • We had a lovely stay in Sara’s beautiful house. It was a perfect location, some great walks and perfect space for a little r & r, spending time with family over the Christmas break. A huge thanks to Sara’s dad who greeted us and was on hand throughout our stay. If you want to explore West Cornwall, this lovely cottage provides the ideal base...

  • Lovely accommodation and well appointed with lots of nice touches - some great books and loved the Cornish scones and Smugglers teabags on arrival! Fantastic views from the very cosy (underfloor heated) conservatory. Great location - especially if you are travelling by bus, which we did most days, as the nearest bus stop is virtually spitting distance from the front door! Sara was very helpful in advance of our stay and her Dad, Mark, was nearly always on hand to help whenever we had any queries. Thank you - we very much hope to be back next year!

Our home is in the heart of 'Poldark Country' in West Cornwall close to the cliffs and moors. The area is renowned for the views, the light and the open space. The accommodation is a self contained flat attached to our house with it's own separate entrance. We are in a small village with a pub and Meadery less than 2 minutes walk away. Other attractions nearby are Geevor Tin Mine and St Just. St Ives, with it's artistic buzz and beaches, and busy Penzance are an easy drive or bus ride away.
We are in a village but the moors and coast path are two minutes from the front door. West Cornwall is renowned for it's dramatic scenery, ancient historical sites and more recent industrial archaeology (Poldark's Wheal Grace Mine is a short walk away on the cliffs!) The area has been designated an "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty" and is in the UN World Heritage site. The secluded secret sandy beach at Portherras is close by and the surfing beaches of Sennen, Gwenver and Porthmeor are 20 minutes drive away. Throughout the summer months there are nightly performances at the world famous Minack Theatre and there is a vibrant local arts and music scene. There are as range of adventurous activities available in the area from surfing lessons to horse riding on the beach, sailing and canoeing to golf. If you want more details please ask and I will send to links the the appropriate website.
  • Fab little cottage. And such a treat to have electric blankets on the bed :) Thank you for a lovely stay x

  • Staying at this cottage was an absolute dream! It was located close to the bus stop in Trewellard and Jeremey met me and provided great advice about the area. There were fresh baked treats on arrival and the kitchen was stocked with milk, coffee and tea. The fireplace made the space especially cozy. I can't wait to visit again!

    Hannah2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay in Trewellard, despite storm Dennis trying to spoil it! Loads of interesting places to visit nearby and enjoyed sampling the local mead at the Meadery, which is minutes from the front door! The flat was cosy and has all you need with convenient parking just opposite the front door. Thanks Jeremy and Rachel.

  • The Cottage is in a very quiet spot in a small cornish village, and only a 10 minute walk to the north cornwall costal path, very near Lands End, St Ives and Penzance. Private parking was right outside the cottage so very convenient when arriving and departing. The Cottage was well equipped with more than you'd expect from the average cottage let. Very clean and a very cozy space to chill out. The log burner soon heats up the whole cottage. I would highly recommend this cottage, and Jeremy and Rachel soon responded to any questions that I had. I will be visiting this cottage again.

Our gorgeous barn conversion with wood burner & open beams is designed for 2. It is located near an ancient stone circle & 10 mins drive from the fantastic surf beach at Sennen Cove. There are large gardens and fantastic countryside views.
The Old Wash house is a beautifully converted granite barn annexe next door to a working farm 10 minutes drive from Sennen beach. It has 1 bedroom with a new Kingsize bed and mattress (Dec 2017). The bed is made up with 100% cotton bed linen and a goose down duvet. The barn has wooden floor boards, recently painted, and is a light and airy space to live in. The Old Wash House sleeps 2. There is another single bed in the attic mezzanine if you have one child but this is only suitable for children and on prior arrangement. The property also has a wood burner in the bedroom with two chairs for relaxing, a kitchen/diner/sitting room, hallway & bathroom. It has its own private courtyard garden with a weber BBQ and table and chairs and use of more extensive communal gardens. The property is adjacent to our house and our cookery school called Fat Hen ((URL HIDDEN) Day courses run here once or twice a week between March-July and Sept-December. Private wild food cookery courses are available during your stay or you can book onto one of our scheduled courses. There will be no courses on during July & August as we shut the school during the Summer holidays. We aim to live sustainably here and have photovoltaic panels for our electricity, an electric car, solar hot water, we treat our sewage on site and compost our green waste. We have had superfast broadband installed here in 2017 and the wifi speed is very good. There is no t.v in the property but the broadband speed is good enough to stream films and watch iplayer etc. The barn is self catering but we provide a welcome pack of bread, butter, eggs and milk. The kitchen will be stocked with basics such as salt, pepper, tea, coffee, olive oil & sugar. We also provide washing up liquid and tea towels.
We are on a peaceful farm with no light pollution or traffic noise, yet only 5 miles from Penzance and 4 miles from the great surf beach at Sennen cove. The countryside is stunning and the walks from here are wonderful. The Old Wash house is situated next door to a working farm and access from the main road is down a 1/3 mile farm track. This track is bumpy so please be prepared and drive slowly. You may pass tractors and other cars on this track but there are 4 places along the track where you can pull in to let cars overtake. We have fantastic sunrises here overlooking the fields and the valley and we live 5 mins walk from an ancient stone circle. We are within a stones throw of many ancient sites and numerous beaches and hidden coves. There are great fish restaurants nearby, characterful pubs in Sennen and amazing walks on the coast path within 3 miles of the Old Wash House. St Ives (a stunningly beautiful town with 3 beaches and a harbour and the Tate Art Gallery) is approximately 12 miles away. Truro, the capital of Cornwall, is about 27 miles away. There are so many lovely villages (Mousehole being one of them) within a few miles of The Old Wash House. There's a great hotel/restaurant/bar in Mousehole called The Old Coastguard. This is great for popping in for coffees/drinks and lounging on their gorgeous sofas! Newlyn has a fantastic fish restaurant called The Tolcarne. The chef here is very well respected and has previously held a michelin star in another restaurant he used to run. The Gurnards Head, is a great gastropub (about 8 miles from here), with great food and access to the magnificent north coast path. It's worth building up an appetite and walking the coast path and ending up in the pub next to a roaring fire for some great food! The Tinners Arms in Zennor, about 8 miles away is a classic traditional pub with food. It's a great place to pop in for a pint! Penzance (5 miles away) has the usual supermarkets and amenities and some lovely quirky independent shops. There are great cafes nearby - Tremenheere Sculpture gardens are definitely worth a visit (about 6 miles away). The Honeypot is a great cafe in Penzance and The Apple Tree & Little Bo are great Cafes in Sennen. We are spoilt with so many beaches for surfing and walking and swimming from. Sunset is great at Sennen. A pint in the Old Success pub or dinner on the terrace at The Beach Restaurant in Sennen is well worth doing. St Michaels' Mount in Marazion (about 7 miles away) is a wonderful castle built on a mount in the sea at Marazion - this is worth a visit and while you're there go for a meal at Ben's Cornish Kitchen (a very well respected restaurant). The Minack open air theatre is approx 7 miles from us and is a 'must see' if you come here. Porthcurno beach, next to the Minack is stunning and definitely worth a visit!
  • Lovely stylish hideaway in a great location.

    Mel2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • The space is wonderful....just listen to the silence, the woodburner stunning (hint turn it down as soon as the wood has caught), the bed so comfortable, the eggs, crumpets and fizz all much appreciated, thoroughly recommended!

Lots of info left for things to do in the surrounding areas. Both Caroline & her husband were lovely. Really useful private courtyard area which was great for our little dog.

  • We really loved our stay in the barn. It was easy to find, hosted by two lovely people and gave us a comfortable and relaxing space to be for a couple of days. Firstly the bed was super comfy - hurrah! Appreciated the ease of access and little touches like eggs / milk /tea / coffee /bread that always make a stay more welcoming. Lovely walks right from the barn, and lots of nearby-places to Drive or walk to. Would definitely recommend. Keri and pete

A much loved flat situated in the vibrant village of St Just. A 3 minute walk into the centre of St Just with it's great selection of shops, galleries, pubs, cafes and local walks to the coast. Beautifully decorated living/kitchen October 2018. The kitchen is well equipped with lovely crockery. Comfy firm latex mattress and cosy bedding. • The apartment was as described. We felt very comfortable there for 14 days. Even on rainy days we were able to stay there well. From St. Just and in the surrounding area you can go on beautiful walks along the coast or to one of the beaches. A bus stop is right at the house. Pubs, cafes or restaurants are about 10 minutes away, as are the shops. It was a very nice and varied holiday.

Cozy flat located at Carminowe Farm, just outside the village of Pendeen, slightly off the beaten track with no close neighbours, making it extremely peaceful and a haven for wildlife. It's a short walk to the shop, pubs and local facilities. The coast path is approximately a mile and a half away. The flat has ample parking and its own courtyard seating area. The hosts live in the main part of the house and have a border collie called Bill and a cat.
The flat is part of a larger house where the owners live full-time. The living area and kitchen in the flat are semi open plan and the living area has a wood burning stove and access out to a small courtyard area. There is a sofa bed and a blind can separate this area from the kitchen and the rest of the flat, if required. The kitchen is well equipped and has an oven, hob and microwave. There is also a washing machine and tumble drier. The double bedroom is small, but has reasonable storage space and the bathroom has a bath with shower over. There is a small hall area for coats and boots.
West Penwith is an area of granite moorland and rugged coastline with many beaches, bays and coves. It is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and is a World Heritage Mining Site. It has more ancient monuments and sites than any other place in Britain and is rich with stone circles, standing stones, burial sites and ancient villages. Ancient field systems are very apparent in the landscape. The B3306 road from Pendeen to St Ives is known as one of the great driving roads, although it is quite tight and twisting, but is a wonderfully scenic drive and is recommended. You can walk to Pendeen village by level footpath, or over Carn Eanes for more of a challenge, and the village has a Costcutter store, post office, pubs and Lil's Chippy. The village also features Geevor Mining Museum which is quite interesting (and also has a cafe). From Pendeen Watch Lighthouse where you can park, you can take the coast path in either direction. Go left and you can walk towards old mining areas and the Crowns engine houses at Botallack, and go right and you can access Boat Cove and Portheras Cove, local beaches only accessible on foot.
  • THE Annexe at Carminowe Farm is a perfect spot for a few days away or even longer. Tastefully furnished, warm and cosy with every amenity we could possibly need. Location was perfect as we had our dog with us and the hosts thoughtfully provided dog bed, bowl and towel which although we didn't need was a nice touch. Would we go back?, yes definitely.

    Kate2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Dana and Paul’s place is well equipped, cosy and comfortable, heating is good and the Wi-fi works. There was plenty of firewood for the log stove in the lounge and the kitchen had everything you could need. There was milk in the fridge and all the basics you need, like tea bags, oil, salt and pepper etc. During my stay there were a couple of storms and high winds, so I really got a feel for the winter wildness of the area, but I was nice and warm inside. The views and coastline in the area are stunning. I also had the pleasure of witnessing a murmuration of birds right overhead and got a lovely video of them swirling and swooping. It was really nice to be able to stay somewhere where I could have my two little dogs with me. The hosts were welcoming and helpful but left me to it, which is what I wanted. Their dog, Bill, was really friendly and gentle. The house is hidden from view from the roads but the instructions to find the place were good enough for me to find it on the first attempt. I made sure I arrived in the daylight just in case. As I arrived and drove across a field towards the trees that surround the house, I was delighted to see an owl float across the top of my car and into the woods on the other side. All in all, a charming stay.

    Barbara2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • A gem. Beautifully laid out and equipped, a great location 15 mins walk from the village of Pendeen, comfy and so cosy with its excellent wood stove. Owners friendly and very helpful.

  • We have stayed at The Pines before, it’s a spotlessly clean, cozy little bolthole in a beautiful, scenic location. We loved our stay as we always do and managed to catch the starlings doing their display this time, pretty amazing !!

Pendeen was a large mining village. Although the mine closed in 1990 Pendeen has not lost its character. There is plenty to see and do and is surrounded by beautiful scenery. There are two pubs which both serve real ale and food. Our local shop 'Boscaswell stores' is a great little convenience shop or you could travel to nearby St Just for the local butchers and fruit & veg shop.
  • Great location with views over the sea from the farm. Southwest coast path is 10 minutes away with an amazing sandy cove 20 mins walk. The beach is Very quiet due to not being able to park to close. Pendeen village is 10 minute walk with good pubs local shop and chip shop.

  • We had a lovely stay at Janet's little cottage. Her family was very friendly and helped us with questions around the local area. The place itself is cosy and a good place to stay if you're looking for something quiet, peaceful, away from the business and noise of cities. The view is spectacular, with ten minutes walking distance to the coast and the coastal path. A local shop is nearby and the bus connections to other villages and areas of Cornwall are regular and reliable. A beautiful place in a very picturesque landscape!

  • Janet's place is a hidden gem! The cottage is beautiful, full of character, steeped in history, such a wonderfully peaceful location. If you enjoy coastal walks the footpaths are close by and lead you to beautiful beaches and stunning scenery. It was great to meet Janet's family and to be shown the Farm's ancient Fogou was a bonus! What a great trip, would love to return!

  • Lovely, peaceful retreat with all the essentials for a relaxing stay. Only a short walk from the beach and coast path. Also within walking distance of the village and bus service to Lands End and St Ives. Welcoming and friendly host with tips for things to do - nice touch with the flowers and sparkling wine on arrival. Phone signal and internet is intermittent but this is to be expected in such a rural location.

    Lena2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Up Over Head was a lovely place to stay. It's exactly as described, but it's the location that makes it so special. There are lovely coastal walks from the doorstep, and two picturesque coves within a few minutes walk - Boat Cove and Portherras (a beautiful place to swim). The hosts are relaxed and friendly, we had a great week there.

Nancy's House is on the wild and stunning coastline between St.Ives and Landsend and was rated No.1 in the Sunday Times gold standard '100 cool West Country cottages'. With a cosy wood-burner, and a sumptuous 6ft bed this is a fantastic romantic retreat. Soak in your hot tub after a stormy walk on windswept moors and sea cliffs, or our hidden beach, all from your doorstep. With plenty of traditional and gastro pubs nearby, this is a place to indulge in wild landscapes, wildlife and wild food!
We have a very special farm that is an organic wildlife haven, running on renewable energy. Out of season we welcome short stays with a 3 night minimum, and in peak season it is a 5 night minimum. We have a gorgeous herd of little cows, called Dexters. They are our oldest native breed and produce beef which is amazingly rich and tender and prized by chefs. We run them over our permanent specie rich pastures and 60 acres of moorland. We have a wetland and a North Atlantic woodland (a temperate rainforest), which is rich in flora and fauna, alongside our willow coppice , where all our wood comes from. We have Cornish choughs and peregrines nesting on the cliffs of our hidden beach, Portherras, and buzzards, kestrels, stone chats, and snipes range our moorlands to name but a few!
Nancy's House is set in its own fruit and herb courtyard on our organic farm. All our electricity comes from our wind turbine and PV panels so you can indulge guilt free in our super hydro therapy hot tub, and we provide all the wood for the woodburner from our sustainable wood coppice. Nancy's House has wooden floors and beams throughout and is a beautifully restored cottage. Its an amazing space for walking, surfing, mountain biking and great if you are a wildlife enthusiast. It's also well known for it's creative and artistic culture and there are several superb Cornish theatre groups; Kneehigh, Miracle theatre, Rogue Theatre, that perform in iconic places like the Minack and in woodlands and beautiful gardens near by. There are high quality art galleries like Yew Tree at the end of our farm lane, and numerous ones in nearby St.Ives and Penzance. The pubs are all friendly and local food is good.
  • This was a fantastic place to stay!! A cute little farm cottage with a homely wood stove and a massive jacuzzi to boot. We had a wonderful romantic getaway and we’d strongly recommend Nancy’s to anybody looking to stay in Cornwall

    Kelley2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful farmhouse tucked away in the countryside. Close enough to local amenities but secluded and enough to escape the hustle and bustle. The private hot tub was a perfect addition to the weekend, and the cream tea waiting for us when we arrived a welcome treat.

    Jamie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely stunning place. Host was incredibly helpful. Ate out at some lovely local restaurants, would highly recommend.

  • Nancy’s house was everything it promised to be and more. The peace and tranquility we desperately needed was delivered in spades ... yet within easy reach of Lands End, Sennen Cove, St Ives etc Not even storm Ciara could dampen our time at Nancy’s house - the cosy furnishings, log burner and any facility you may need in the kitchen meant we were beyond comfortable. The hot tub area is great and super private - however it was the only experience the storm did hinder. We can’t wait to return and see Nancy’s house and all of the animals again...& to finally use the hot tub!

    Patrick2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy’s cottage is the perfect escape from the everyday busy routine. Was so cosy and relaxing. Would definitely stay again. Highly recommended!

We are in a residential area, just 700 metres from the south west coast path backing onto Boscaswell Village just off Pendeen, just over a mile from the lighthouse. A five minute or so walk to two pubs, convenience store very close to the historic Geevor mine. It is a peaceful area at night. Often you can hear the sea. We have a garage for cycles or motorcycles, dryer and washer for walkers and can often accommodate greyhounds by arrangement.
Light breakfast is included (cereals, toast, etc) and Sue is always happy to lay on a cooked breakfast by arrangement. The shared bathroom works well, as the hosts have a separate loo, so take as long as you like in the bathroom. Coffee machine in the kitchen, fresh milk in the fridge, help yourself. Kitchen and gardens are a shared space, the rear garden is shared with our dogs (when they are awake) Do feel free to use the microwave, coffee machine, air fryer etc. We have well behaved Greyhounds in the house. They are normally very quiet as a breed, and leave guests alone, this is their home as well so if you really don't like dogs it's probably not the place for you! They are re-homed retired racers.
The area is "Poldark" country, world heritage site, area of outstanding natural beauty with a tin mining heritage, on the Tin Coast and with a smugglers cove close by. It's on the rugged north coast of West Cornwall. situation great for a break from the south west coast path or or as a base for a few days exploring wild West Cornwall. Well located for the South West Coast Path and Penwith Heritage Coast. The coastal path section between us and St Ives has many changes in elevation, and Pendeen is regarded as an "oasis" for many after a gruelling slog up and down coves and cliffs heading west. It can be a brutal stretch in the winter months. The village has two pubs and a good local stores, we are close to the coastal path and the village. For guests taking a break and stopping over for more than one night there are many local walks and facilities where you can recharge and relax. Designations include Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Area of Great Historic Value, Heritage Coast, and World Heritage site. Five minutes in any direction and you are in rugged natural Cornwall, still virtually unspoiled. Great at any time of year. Our area is in the process of becoming a "Dark Skies" reserve too, so it is a rather special place. Within a few minutes walk you can find Cornish hedges from Neolithic times and the area is surrounded by Ancient stones, circles, quoits, fougos, wells and forts. You won't find King Arthur's ashtray in a gift shop in these parts. Take time to soak up the history, all around us is a beautiful place whichever direction you head out - the cliffs, the countryside or to the ancient stones. You are near the extreme end of Britain here, glorious and rugged in the winter, beautiful in the summer.
  • From the second I stepped into Sue and Kevin's house, I was made to feel welcome and this didn't stop until the moment I left. What more can you want from an Airbnb? It was lovely to share stories and of course to sleep in a comfortable bed too. Sue was a life-saver with the food too! I will definitely be back if I am walking the coastal path, as it is incredibly handy. Many thanks for making it a memorable stop on my journey.

    James2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic hospitality along a very rugged leg of my walk along the coastal path. Highly recommended indeed, thank you very much Sue and Kevin!!

    Justin2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Very lovely and hospitable! Both Kevin and Sue looked after us very well during our stay - during off our wet camping equipment/clothes for us, helping us research for our hike the exit day and preparing a lovely breakfast. And lovely dogs!

    Sylvie2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very good time, the accommodation is not far from the coastal path and we could even leave our backpacks there while visiting the nearby mine. We got nice conversations and helpful tips about bus connections, pubs and mine opening times as well as a cup of tea and cookies when we picked up the backpacks. We would book there again anytime.

    Mona2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Their house is really very well located. Between Porthcurno, Pendeen, the Geevor mine and Zeenor. Perfect for exploring the peninsula. Sue and her husband are adorable and have been very kind to us. Room with all the necessary equipment. Please take a good look at the card sent by Sue when you arrive. It will be very useful for you to find the house.

    Carole2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect place to stop for the night while walking the coastal path! The room is really nice with comfortable beds and wonderful hosts! Book early do you don’t miss the opportunity!

    Susan2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Sue and Kevin were excellent hosts. Very friendly, communicative, thoughtful and overall very good people. Sitting around and talking in the evening was really fun and enjoyable as well as having the opportunity to befriend and pet their greyhounds which were just as nice as the hosts themselves. Easily the best place I've ever stayed in and probably will ever stay. The accommodations were sparkling clean and set up very nicely. Sue prepared us a filling and delicious breakfast.

A large and comfortable room in a beautiful spot, next to Cape Cornwall Golf Club's restaurant and swimming pool. Three windows- very light with amazing view of the only Cape in England. This cosy cottage is open plan but also has space. Tea/coffee in room. Wifi, DVD/TV,selection of DVDs but no TV channels. Please note that the large bathroom is downstairs with good shower/bath. We have two friendly Labradors who love guests! Log fire every night in the winter. Friendly hosts!
Your room overlooks the only Cape in England! One mile from St Just, which is a very small town with pubs, cafes and eateries and many unique craft shops. Although Cape Cornwall Club (golf and leisure) is next door, it is very quiet here.
Not many people live on the Cape. It is a very small and peaceful community. The cottage was the first dwelling on the Cape. The cottage was formerly the farm cottage of Nanpean Farm, until the golf club was built in 1991. The club house of the farm was created from the farm stables.
  • A lovely home in a great location. I was a first timer to Air B&B Jo & Chris (and their beautiful dogs) were so welcoming and provided exceptional advice for places to visit locally, I had a great stay and would highly recommend 😊

  • The cottage is very close to the coast footpath, really good location for both outdoors adventures and trips to nearby towns. Very friendly and helpful hosts providing easy going atmosphere and tips to make the most of the time in the area. Great place to stay!

  • Ah we here go! If the Airbnb website worked as well as the hosts to make your booking and stay an enjoyable experience! I almost gave up trying to book but I'm glad I didn't. Lovely hosts with 2 friendly dogs and a lovely spacious room overlooking Cape Cornwall. I managed to tick the all the boxes with body boarding, walks and bird-watching. Cape Cornwall is home to the Chough - symbol of Cornwall. Ticked all the boxes with the local cuisine too fish & chips, pasty and cream tea with homemade jam and Rodda clotted cream. Trips to some of the smaller towns and attractions were interesting and Penzance high street is still vibrant despite the 3 out of town supermarkets. Tea, coffee and 2 towels provided plus extra blanket for the bed. Nice big bathroom downstairs. Would highly recommend, Dave

  • Jo and Chris were truly wonderful hosts. They made me feel incredibly welcome and at home, and I was able to completely relax which was lovely. The location of the cottage is perfect. You have the coastal paths on your doorstep as well as a wonderful view of the cape. St Just is only a 5 minute drive away (or a 25 min walk if you’re feeling energetic!), and the golf club next door has an indoor pool and gym if the weather is ropey. The cottage was extremely clean and the room is spacious and comfortable. The dogs are also incredibly sweet and friendly. Breakfast was delicious and the coffee machine was an added bonus! I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

    Alicia2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Jo are fabulous hosts. The old school Airbnb experience. Sharing space, but also life stories, and local tips. There's great hiking in the vicinity, but also further out.

  • David and Victoria are perfect hosts and they have a lovely property in a truly beautiful location. They are really thoughtful and provided a delicious cream tea on arrival and also lots great additional touches.

  • The Hill Farm was a delightful place to stay in this most interesting and scenic part of Cornwall. The cottage has excellent and very well set out facilities. David and Victoria are the most welcoming and hospitable hosts.

    Duncan2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoy the time at Richard's place and town, he and Victoria are very helpful and friendly. The house is surrounded by wonderful view, we will definitely come back and highly recommend everyone to stay here!

    Mengqian2017-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely week at this property. It is in a breathtakingly beautiful location and waking up to views over the old mines and the ocean felt like a gift. There's a public footpath to the village and the pub there (the Trewellard Arms) serves great food and has a vast array of different beers. The owners of the cottage live next door and they were immensely helpful and accommodating. They really care about their home and their guests. The cottage has everything you might need and we all felt at home there. The cream tea on arrival made for a great welcome and we also enjoyed probably the best gluten free lemon drizzle cake ever made by the cottage owner's neighbour. The Penwith Peninsula is wild and a little unkempt but I think it is one of the most beautiful places in England and being there is really good for the soul - birdsong, wild flowers and a sky full of stars.

A delightful barn conversion set in a tranquil area of West Cornwall. This single storey barn conversion is in a quiet location yet close to Penzance and local beaches. The cottage is on one level (single step in places) and has a fully enclosed south facing garden. The cottage is decorated to a high standard and has a fully equipped kitchen and two bedrooms, one with en suite wet room. The cottage makes an excellent base with south coast beaches 10 mins drive away and St Ives 20 mins drive.
A lovely barn conversion with exposed beams and wood burning stove. Enclosed safe garden with apple trees, vines and local wildlife. This is a perfect setting for summer and winter holidays.
The cottage is in the middle of the countryside but only a couple of miles from Penzance. Easy access to both north and south coasts.
  • Cobblestone cottage is a long barn conversion, spacious, well lit, welcoming and furnished well. Set in its own grounds, with country views, and car parking, it is private and quiet. Close to Penzance itself and nearby (about 6 mins by car) to big supermarkets. Night skies are brilliant for stargazers and we saw an astounding buzzard in nearby tree. Master bedroom with king size bed, and ensuite shower, sink and toilet, with light over mirror and power point for toothbrush or shaver. Smaller bedroom with two single beds, very comfortable and with plenty of good bedding and spare blankets. Large bathroom, with bath and plenty of towels. Kitchen well equipped and easy to function in. All on one level (apart from two separate single steps up to kitchen and to hall towards bedrooms. A small log fire burner gives the sitting room a cheering feel. Central heating radiators around the cottage are much welcomed in winter. Our hostess very thoughtfully provided some treats of scones, jam and Cornish cream, not to mention Cornish butter, and very helpfully milk in fridge and orange juice. Obviously bring your own food although there were some teabags, coffee and sugar provided too. Overall an attractive cottage and garden for a couple or a family wanting to enjoy the pleasures of Cornwall.

  • We have just returned from a very happy week staying at Cobblestone Cottage. The cottage is light, spacious, beautifully furnished, clean and comfortable and sits within the most idyllic countryside location. We were able to access some of the most wonderful areas from the doorstep on foot, by bike travelling to both the North and South coast and by short journeys in the car including Porthcurno, St Ives and Zennor. For our active family, this was a perfect setting for a wonderful week of memories. Many thanks x

  • We stayed at Kevin and Carolyn’s home for two nights while walking on the South West Coast Path, and it was just perfect! The location is beautiful and the family is so very warm and welcoming. They made us feel right at home and went out of their way to make our stay wonderful. The room is really lovely and very comfortable. We’d love to come again one day!

    Allaina2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • The room is located in a small house on the edge of a field. You are fast in Pendeen. We were welcomed in a friendly and unobtrusive way and had our peace in the room. The room is practically just a large bed with little freedom of movement but it is neat and nice. In the morning light breakfast and coffee in the kitchen was ready. All in all a good experience and highly recommended for one night.

  • A wonderful location for walking the southwest coastpath and very close to local pubs for eating. Kevin and Carolyn are such lovely hosts and we felt very welcome in their home. The house is lovely, the bed super comfy and the breakfast a very lovely additional bonus. Highly recommended!

  • We stayed for a night whilst walking the SW coastal path and it was the perfect place to stop over. Our hosts were lovely, helpful and communicated well and the bed was very comfortable. Recommend dinner at the friendly local pub - the North Inn and it's a very interesting section of the coastal path to explore. Many thanks

    Laura2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Mel and Rich were very welcoming throughout our stay. They made sure check-in was seamless and even let us put our bikes in their garden. There was tea and coffee in the room and some breakfast provided in the morning, perfect to get the day going. They gave us with lots of information on what to see and do in the area which was really useful. And we also enjoyed cuddles with their cat Susi :) Thanks for everything!

  • Melanie's house is lovely! The room is clean and has a bathroom and drink options. Down in the kitchen you have a lot of options for breakfast. The only issue we had was that the check in address airbnb opens in maps is not correct but Melanie answers help us get there super quick.

  • Wrens Nest is a cosy Cornish home from home. The location is quiet and surrounded by beautiful countryside and sea views. Penzance is a small drive away with all you’d need to find. We were able to travel all of the south coasts in one day and got some beautiful weather during this winter stay. Marisa is a wonderful host with so many little homely touches to make your stay much easier. The Cornish cream teas upon arrival were a lovely touch. Thanks again and hope to be back somewhen in the future

A bright and airy studio, 15 minutes walk to the coast path. Views onto open countryside. Perfect base for walkers, dogs welcome. Lots of places to explore in the heart of poldark country. There's a well stocked village shop, fish and chip shop and 2 pubs nearby. The studio has a fully equipped kitchenette. Perfect for preparing simple meals. Travel cot on request.
The studio is a lovely peaceful place to stay close to footpaths. There is street parking 100 metres away.
Peaceful location on a unique cornish terrace.
  • I had a wonderful stay is this lovely secluded studio flat. I like to be left alone, so it was great I could let myself from in to a pre-warmed flat with welcoming flowers and unwind after a long journey. The space is much nicer than a photograph can convey, light, open and spacious, and the view is just lovely, I never drew the curtains! In 5 minutes, you can be up to the cairn behind with views across the lovely Penwith peninsular or at the nearby Post Office, Shop or pub(s). I know Cornwall well and this is the perfect location from which to explore this my favourite part. St Ives is just 30 minutes away, and then the spectacular coast through Zennor, Cape Cornwall and Sennen Cove 15 minutes away. Julie lives nearby, was just great and responded immediately to all communication. I needed for nothing, warm and cosy even in Storm Denis, Totally recommended.

  • We really enjoyed our short stay here. The location is beautiful and the house is cozy and comfortable.

    Gwenllian2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and spacious studio. Beautiful views from the window. There was enough parking space for our car. The property had a well stocked kitchen with pots and pans and dishes. The mini oven was really useful. It was value for money also, as dogs were welcome for no additional charge. Julie is a very helpful host. She shared the weather warnings with us beforehand and that was helpful as we did our packing accordingly. Thanks for hosting us Julie. We definitely would love to stay again and do recommend this property.

  • This studio is in a perfect location for the far west of Cornwall. It has all the facilities and amenities that you will need, and communication with the owner is exceptionally good. The bed is very comfortable.

  • Lovely peaceful spot, great place to read and set up base for walking adventures around south Cornwall at a reasonable price. Would come again!

    Tom2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was small but adequate Julie ‘s Place was absolutely spotless. Just about everything you needed and very private.

    Penny2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Even better than the photos, this is a lovely and quirky garage conversion/extension on a quiet side street in a peaceful village (which to my surprise has a well stocked costcutter, chippy, a tapas place and two pubs!). Everything was clean, the kitchen was well equipped (with a HOB and full size fridge!!), it was quiet, we met a few neighbours who were lovely and we enjoyed watching the cows in the field out the back! The bed was lovely and comfy and the host was so lovely to deal with. We were able to park right nearby as we have a tiny car but even the on street parking is really close by. We thought Pendeen was really well situated for exploring the whole of Penrith and that area of Cornwall from St Ives to Penzance to Lands End. We ate at The Gurnards Head just up the road towards St Ives which was fantasic!! The shower was a little weaker than we're used to - but it was nice and hot and we are in the countryside after all lol! We would happily stay here again if in the area - such good value for money too! - and we would highly recommend it.

Our wild landscapes, semi-tropical gardens, the moors and coastal areas are stunning at this time of year. The migrating birds are now arriving along with our seasonal marine visitors. Our swallows have returned to nest in our barns and we have heard the cuckoo – a rare sound in many areas. The Drift reservoir is just 3 miles away and Marazion and Hayle Nature Reserves are within a 20 minute drive; all are renowned for hosting a wide variety of migrating and seasonal birds. Why not consider a longer stay out of the main holiday season? If you are seeking peace and quiet in which to write, compose music, paint, photograph, explore the environment in greater depth, or simply to take time out from your everyday life this is the perfect place. We prefer that visiting dogs do not go into our garden or into any other areas of our home and ask that your dog is not left unattended in your room. And PLEASE, no dogs on our beds. We are right off any made-up roads, there is lots of space and dogs can easily and safely be walked straight from our house. If your dog is prone to bark at the slightest movement or as soon as it goes outside, this is probably not the best place for it to stay. Other guests will be in the room next to you and elderly neighbours live across the farmyard. Our own dog, Cassie will make a loud noise when you arrive but will be very hospitable once you are settled in.
If you are looking for the "real" West Cornwall you will find it here. We are well away from the main road, at the start of the wild, West Cornish Moors distinctive Celtic landscape and.....Poldark country! • We recommend staying in this place in over 100%. Jill is the dream host, after nice, trouble-free communication we spent super great time at the place. The fabulously situated house fulfilled our dreams of staying in Cornwall - that's magical place. There are beautifull hiking tracks & easy bus transportation (if you need it). A place is brilliantly clean, everything you need is there. Great! Thank you one more time!

  • Jill is a wonderful host who will help you in anyway she can, and provides the most lovely breakfasts! The location is fantastic for Penzance and st. Ives. Jill provided us with lots of suggestions for dog friendly beaches and places to visit which I recommend asking for as they were beautiful places.

  • Jill is exactly what you can expect from a great host : she really cares about you, her English breakfast is great, and she takes time to advice you on things to see and where to go. The room is pretty and cosy, and ideally located. We really enjoyed our stay at Jill, such a shame we had to leave ! We would definitely come back again :)

My place is tucked away in the Hamlet of Bollowal, which is very close to the beautiful, rugged and wild coastal path of the West Penwith peninsula. A great location ideal for walkers and cyclists and those who love the great outdoors. I share my home with 2 friendly dogs (large and small), and 1 very fluffy cat. The house has a bohemian, rustic charm, in other words it is homely not pristine.
  • Location of the property is very good not far away from stunning coast and close to the town as well. Nice and peaceful. Ruth is is lovely lady with great tips on what to do and where to go in local area.

    Renata2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Very charismatic accommodation in a secluded little hamlet mere minutes away from St. Just. We were put at ease by the host and felt welcomed as part of the family. Be aware that the sleeping area is in a converted loft, and as such, access is achieved by climbing a steep ladder. That said, it feels very snug in the loft, particularly if there is a Cornish storm a-raging outside....Definitely a place to stay for animal lovers who like a rural feel to their accommodation. The host, Ruth, is very friendly and incredibly helpful. We would happily stay here again.

    John2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Ruth is a very friendly host and has a very charming house! The dogs are very cute, we would recommend it any time.

    Denice2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Ruth is very welcoming and her house is in a hamlet located in what feels like at the end of the Earth but is a 20 minutes walk to the center of the town and more particularly to a great café, the Dog and Rabbit. Her dogs are very friendly. To be noted: the room doesn't have a door as it is in the attic which is accessed via a ladder/stairs. It was still very quiet and I slept like a log.

    Cécile2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Ruth’s place is beautiful, very comfy attic room, ideal for three people. The location is very good too, we enjoyed the walk through the fields by the light of the stars. She was an amazing host, cooked us some breakfast and had a really nice chat with her. We totally recommend staying here while visiting the area.

  • Steph and Shaun are great hosts, genuine, welcoming people with good sense of humour. Their lovely home is cosy and beautifully clean with good amenities. I was grateful for the use of the kitchen to prepare some meals. My room was clean and tidy with a comfortable double bed. I would defiantly stay with Stef and Shaun again.

  • Great location for walking the coastal path and also getting some food from the town. Really interesting to stay in a traditional mining village too. Stef and Shaun were very accomodating and friendly. The room was warm, cosy, comfortable and quiet. Great to be able to use the living room and dining room. Breakfast was great. I was very lucky to be given dinner too becuase they had extra! A great stay, thanks.

  • The host is a wonderful person, very helpful and also curious to know their guests (not everyone). The house is adorable and kept with care, cleanliness is impeccable. It is located in the center of the country and the SWCP is easily accessible. Highly recommended!

  • Nice, helpful and friendly couple. It had all amenities needed. Comfortabel bed. I enjoyed my stay!!

  • We had such a lovely stay with Stef, we were received with a down to earth and warm welcome and encouraged to feel at home and get on with resting at our own pace. Stef’s home is very charming and well located in a beautiful area. We only stayed one night on our walking and bus tour of the Cornish coast and this was perfectly placed for both the bus and the coastal path.

Traditional cottage room close to the Coast Path and lovely Portheras Cove, offers walkers and cyclists a base for stunning inland/coastal walks to Neolithic quoits and Iron Age hill forts as well as Geevor Mine and Pendeen (an ex tin mining village full of interest.) Think Alternative Youth Hostel - but pets possibly allowed and maybe a little bit more TLC!
PLEASE NOTE: From May-September this listing is not open to people travelling with a car - unless you have arranged it with me BEFORE SENDING A RESERVATION REQUEST. Also, despite its postal address, MY HOUSE IS MUCH CLOSER TO MORVAH THAN PENDEEN, so leave the Coast Path from just above Portheras Cove if you want the most direct access to my house - although walkers from St Ives will find it much quicker to come up by Morvah Church and do the last part by road. (Like many of Cornwall`s most beautiful coves, Portheras is not lifeguarded and offers various hazards, so read the warnings and Take Care if you get tempted down there before you turn off uphill towards my house!) The cottage is in a quiet lane off the St Ives-Lands End Coast Road. The bed is a small (4`/1220 cm.) double bed but, on the plus side, the room is South facing and looks over the garden.
This is a wonderful part of West Penwith and should not be rushed! Morvah is a very special corner of the UK, with small farms, open moorland, much ancient and mining history, and always dominated by the nearby sea - the furthest lights you will see at night will be from ships, not houses. and the name Morvah means Place of the Sea. If you are thinking of scheduling a rest day on your coast walk, this area is a good option: As well as the obvious lure of Portheras Beach (one of West Cornwall`s gems) , he area around Morvah offers outstanding moorland walks, which are less walked than the Coast Path and often take in historical sites of many ages, while the nearby village of Pendeen is an engrossing picture of historic development based on the traditional Cornish industries of tin mining, fishing and farming. An informal visit to a local farm can usually be arranged if this would be of interest. Although Morvah and Pendeen contain so much of interest, they are far less visited than Lands End, and a two night stay here will offer a far better insight into the real life of West Cornwall than "The Lands End Experience"
  • Very homely and welcoming. Mary is good company but leaves you space if you need it. Thankyou Mary

  • YES! YES! YES!! - is the correct answer if you’re wondering whether you should book this cottage or not :) The cottage is at the foot of the lighthouse which is incredible in itself. The views are stunning & so peaceful. The cottage itself is in amazing condition - it’s clean, cosy with modern kitchen facilities, an amazing shower & really comfy beds And Diane is so thoughtful. She’d left us fresh bread, milk, strawberries, biscuits, wine and so much more that we didn’t expect - and that was without knowing we’d just got married :) Would definitely recommend it - I haven’t had such a nice rest in a very long time - thank you so much Ovi & Hannah x

The Barn provides self-contained accommodation in Tregeseal, a picturesque valley in the far west of Cornwall. It is a ten minute walk to the small coastal town of St Just which has excellent shops, pubs, art galleries, cafes. It is perfect for couples or individuals providing an open plan living and kitchen area, a separate wet room and a mezzanine sleeping area. It has an enclosed court yard and garden space. Access is by a side lane and there is street parking outside the property.
Electricity is included and heating is by a wood-burning stove and an oil filled electric heater. Please note that for winter bookings there is no central heating but wood will be provided, which is reflected in the autumn/winter price. Duvets, pillows and bed linen are provided. Please note that I generally ask you to bring your own towels. There is no TV but wi-fi is available. There is a fridge, a microwave and a cooker with a hob. The sleeping area (double bed) is accessed by a narrow, steep staircase which may not be suitable for people with mobility issues or young children. I am happy for you to bring a well behaved dog but do ask that they are not left alone or go onto the furniture. I also ask guests to let me know if they are bringing their dog with them and to bring a crate or their pet’s bedding. The Barn is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is a World Heritage Site due to its mining history. It is perfect for walkers, birdwatchers, painters and for all who appreciate the coastline and beaches of West Penwith. The surfing beaches of Sennen and Gwenvor are about fifteen minutes’ drive. St Ives and the Tate Gallery, Geevor Mine, Penzance, Newlyn and Mousehole are also within an easy drive. There is no service charge or extra charge for cleaning, but I do ask that you leave The Barn neat and tidy. I’m always happy to answer any questions by email or phone.
  • Wonderful place to stay, the place is cosy and warm and Pip is so helpful with recommendations! Despite the horrible weather we had a wonderful relaxing time and still enjoyed some stunning coastal walks and enjoyed locals cafes and pups :) perfect place to be based for exploring

    Alaska2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Pip is absolutely lovely and very accommodating. The fire was waiting for us when we arrived, and we were met upon arrival and shown around the barn. The barn itself has everything you need as well as being located right on the Cape of Cornwall if you fancy a walk. Pip gave us local tips for what was worth seeing on our weekend in Cornwall and the barn itself could not have been cosier. Thank you Pip!

    Tom2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed a short stay at this accommodation in Tregeseal. The host is friendly and helpful and had provided everything that we required. Would recommend and would happily stay there again.

    Jay2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • The weekend we stayed at Pip's happened to be torrential rainshowers and harsh winds, however we couldn't have asked for a better haven to spend the day in. What better place to come back from a day's walking, than somewhere with a cosy Woodburner, beautiful views and a generally lovely place. Pip was so friendly and helpful, and it was such a welcome long weekend break.

    Kasia2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed at Pip’s Barn for a few nights in September. Although the weather was not the best the location and Cornwall itself makes up for it. The barn was as the photos depict but I would say due to the layout it seem a little larger. It was cosy and big enough for us 2 and our 2 cocker spaniels. Pip greeted us and showed us around the barn and gave lots of helpful tips. She was always at the end of the phone if need be. Within the Barn there is a well equipped kitchen with sink, oven, grill and hobs. There is also a kettle, fridge/freezer, microwave and toaster. Off the kitchen is a wet room with shower and toilet. The layout is open planned so you go into the living room from the kitchen where there is a lovely log burning stove and french doors into the little garden. Off of the living room are the stairs to the bedroom which has lovely views over the fields. The location is perfect, turn right from the side lane and it is about a 20 minute walk to the nearest beach called Porthnanven, it’s great for the dogs with lots of lush green countryside, streams, old mining landmarks and then a rocky beach to explore at the end. If turn left you will be able to walk into the little town of St Just which has a few shops, pubs and a chip shop. Other areas we explored were Lands End where we went for a walk on Gwynver beach and Tehidy Country Park in St Ives which is the best walk for dogs, it has different routes including one leading to the cliffs and has a cafe at the start. Most pubs allow dogs too. We ate at the Kings Head (St Just) and The Dolphin (Penzance). We will definitely be coming back. Thanks Pip.

    Terri2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to stay enjoyed staying in the barn for a couple of days and plenty to do in the surrounding area

    Martin2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for a few days after getting married. It was the perfect place for a quiet short break to wind down. Fantastic area for dog walks and most pubs/cafes allow dogs in. Lots of beaches nearby, our favourite was Sennen for surfing and the next door beach Gwynver which allows dogs all year round was really nice too. The barn itself is small but spacious enough for the two of us and a large dog! We had a really great few days away and would definitely come back. The Lindsay’s and Ozdog

    Jess2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • The Barn is as charming as it looks. We were blessed with good weather and were delighted by the beautiful morning view from the mezzanine (flowers, greenery and horses), as well as enjoying breakfast in the lovely little garden. Pip offered a great range of local tips and advice, all accurate and useful. I made a hash of check in & check out times (about which Pip was extremely understading), but its worth noting that check in is late and check out early, just in case you're planning a short visit. Overall, this is a comfy, charming and delightful place to stay, with beautiful and interesting walks on the doorstep if you don't always want to go out in the car.

  • I really enjoyed my trip. The house is in a very quiet district not far away from Penzance. Yvonne is a great host. To stay there was for my like stay at home. She gave me a lot of great tips about the area. And she always had a time for small talk. She has 2 lovely cats ❤️.

    Agata2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Yvonne’s house is situated in a quite and peaceful neighbourhood, close to Penzance centre. She lets her guests use her private parking space right in front of the door, so it is perfect as starting point to visit south west Cornwall by car. Yvonne also let us use her kitchen and left a lot of things for us to prepare plentiful breakfasts. Also, if you love cats this is the place for you, since one of her two little ginger cats is incredibly friendly and always asking for cuddles.

    Federico2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Yvonne is very welcoming and happy to chat/recommend things to do in the area. The bedroom is a little smaller than expected but comfortable nonetheless, and the garden would be a great place to enjoy on a sunny day. The property is a 10-15 minute walk from Penzance town centre which has all the amenities you could need. Recommended!

    Robert2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Yvonne really pampers her guests with courtesy and kindness, well beyond the usual. The room, albeit small, is cozy and functional. The rest of the house is spacious and well equipped, and the garden is fantastic. Location is very good as well, a very short drive from Penzance, Newlin and many other nice places, villages and attractions (including St. Michael's Mount. Highly recommended.

  • A very quiet environment and peaceful garden. Comfortable room, clean and tidy. 15-20 minutes walk to city centre - straight down the road, can't possibly get lost. Yvonne is very nice, happy to chat or to leave you to your own devices. Great on local knowledge too! I felt really relaxed.

My place is tucked away in the Hamlet of Bollowal, which is very close to the beautiful rugged and wild costal path of the West Penwith peninsula. A great location ideal for walkers and cyclists and those who love the great outdoors. I share my home with 2 dogs (large and small), and 1 very fluffy cat. The house has a bohemian, rustic charm, in other words homely not pristine.
  • Ruth's a charming host, who lives in a lovely house just outside St Just. Her dogs - Bear & Sailor - were just as good to meet. I had a very good night's sleep there, and I enjoyed my poached egg in the morning.

Cape Cornwall, England's only Cape, rears 229 feet out of the Atlantic and offers spectacular views over the Western Approaches and Land's End. The Cape was aquired by the National Trust in 1987 to protect the area and its rare flora and fauna. Ornithologists can spot Cornish choughs, peregrine falcons, sparrow hawks and many other sea birds. Sheltered Priest's Cove with its rocky beach and sea pool, is within 5 minutes walking distance and is still used by local fishermen. The Cape was originally believed to be the Western most point of the mainland but usurped when accurate cartography proved this was in fact Lands End, a mere 4 miles South (and very slightly West!)There are many beautiful valleys leading to other coves and beaches in the area, all of which are accessible from the nearby Coastal path.Cape Cornwall tin mine was operated intermittently between 1838 and 1883 after which time it was closed, the 1864 chimney from the mine has been left as a navigational marker for shipping traffic and stands tall on the top of the Cape. The surrounding National Trust farm land has been converted into an 18 hole golf course with leisure facilities including an indoor swimming pool (although this is currently being renovated). There is also a bar and dining room open to non-members. Weekly membership of the Golf and Leisure Club is available for visitors. Both Sennen Cove, with its long sandy surfing beach, and Land's End are within easy reach. St. Ives and the Tate Gallery are a short drive along the coast road through some of Cornwall's best moorland and Heritage tin mining areas. An Mowhay is a delightful, 200 year old granite hay barn, sensitively converted to create a cosy and well appointed self-catering holiday space. It lies in a very quiet hamlet in the heart of West Penwith's prehistoric landscape, just a short drive from the stunning beaches at Sennen Cove and Porthcurno. Penzance and Mousehole, arguably England's prettiest fishing harbour, are also just 15 minutes away. An Mowhay is an ideal base from which to explore this varied and breathtaking landscape.
Coronavirus update: Please note that we are closed at present. We are happy to accept bookings for Autumn or next Spring. This is to reduce pressure on vital services in West Cornwall and is in line with Government advice on non essential travel. We hope potential guests will understand and may consider visiting this lovely area later in the year or in 2021. Normally, visitors meet with a warm welcome in Cornwall but at present we are all saying, "Please don't come!" Good luck to one and all. Inside its thick granite walls, An Mowhay has a warm & comfortable living area with lots of original artwork and a wood burning stove. Outside, guests can enjoy wining & dining on a private patio area and are welcome to wander in the owners' adjacent field. There is a private parking space immediately behind the cottage. Please note that An Mowhay is a self-catering cottage - we do provide tea, coffee, milk & biscuits but not breakfast! There is a well equipped kitchen including hob, fan oven with integral grill, plus a fridge and dishwasher. It does not have a washing machine for laundry but we may be able to help if asked. There is a shower room with spacious shower, wash basin and WC, but no bath. Electric heaters are provided in all rooms. Secure storage for bicycles or a motorcycle can be provided in the owner's garage. Please note that An Mowhay has a no smoking rule (inside) and that we do not accept pets. Parents of infants and very young children should note that there is an exposed wood burner and unguarded stairs both inside and out. Enough firewood for a couple of evenings is included and we can provide additional good quality kiln dried logs at about £5 per bag. Please do not bring unseasoned timber as it will produce little heat and lots of frustration! Jane and John are experienced hosts, having run a nearby holiday cottage successfully for several years, with many holidaymakers returning year after year. We pride ourselves in providing honest, first rate service and good value for money. We will do our utmost to ensure that your stay is thoroughly enjoyable.
An Mowhay lies in a very quiet hamlet near Sancreed, with no through traffic and dark skies at night. It is a fantastic base for walking and is surrounded by several iconic prehistoric sites, yet is only a short drive from the coast and the facilities of nearby Penzance. Carn Euny Iron Age village and St Euny's holy well are just few minutes walk away - perfect for an evening stroll. Walk a little further for panoramic views over the sea to the Scilly Isles from Bartinney Downs or Caer Bran hill fort. The stunning stone circle at Boscawen-Un is another short walk across the moorland landscape. Keen walkers can take a longer stroll - about 1.5 hours - across moorland to the spectacular coast near Sennen Cove. The coast path, Minack Theatre, St Michael's Mount, Mousehole, St Ives and the finest beaches in England are all within a short drive. We're also close to the NT garden at Trengwainton and the privately owned gardens at Trewidden. Many guests tell us that they wished they'd booked for longer!
  • The cottage is very nicely furnished and is warm and cosy. Everything you could need for a great stay has been thoughtfully provided. Jane and John are extremely welcoming and helpful. There is a wealth of local information and suggestions to help explore the lovely countryside in the cottage itself. The log burner was a delight, and well stocked with logs!

  • Just returned from a wonderful six nights spent at An Mowhay. Jane and John were brilliant hosts and were waiting for us on arrival. We were provided with a welcome booklet which provided lots of travel tips. The cottage was perfect was us: lots of cupboard space, warm, comfortable beds, plenty of towels provided, good shower. We did bring our own supplies but certain things we didn’t need to bring as they were already there (tea, coffee, sugar, milk, hand wash etc). Overall, a memorable, family get away. Thanks again.

  • Fantastic hosts! Very warm and welcoming on arrival. A lovely cottage that comes fully equipped with everything you need. Nicely laid out within a beautiful setting. Our hosts gave great insight into the surround area, and we found the place to be situated right amidst everything we wanted to see. Would defiantly stay here again, thank you once again for letting us stay in your wonderful cottage!

  • We were very happy to stay in this guesthouse. The location of the house is wonderful. It was a great base for exploring Cornwall. The house itself is cozy, comfortable and well equipped. The hosts are very kind and helpful.

  • This was my first AirBnB experience and I’m a fan. Booking etc was a doddle, and this specific property was ideal! Really comfy and cosy! We had a great little half term break here! Matt

Explore the beauty of Penwith. Carthew Mill House is situated between Penzance and St Just, perfect for exploring the wonders of Penwith. Walkers will enjoy the easy access to the South West Coastal Path. This is also the perfect central location for exploring The Minack Theatre, Mousehole and the beautiful beaches of Porthcurno and Sennan. St Just is just 10 mins drive away and has cafes, shops and restaurants and in less than an hours you could be in the bustling market town of Truro.
At the end of a quiet country lane in the hamlet of Newbridge sits Carthew Mill House. This 17th century converted corn mill still has the original wheel attached to the side of the house. You can take a stroll down to the stream and enjoy our 3 acres of grassland.
Newbridge is a quiet hamlet and a few minutes drive away is St Just, a pretty little village with some great pubs.
  • Louise and David are wonderful hosts, generous and thoughtful and Carthew Millhouse offers a lovely, private space. It’s also good value and a great location, being in the centre of everything. Will definitely revisit!

  • Thank you for having Elliot and me at your lovely home. We really enjoy the days with L&D and their animals! We had fresh eggs from the chicken every morning, which was so impressive. They were very hospitable and friendly to give suggestions on our trip. The room is tidy and clean and it makes us feel home. We would recommend to book without hesitation!

  • A wonderful place with friendly and welcoming hosts -- if you stay over there, you might not want to leave the house in the morning and rather walk around in their garden than on the coast path!
