Places to stay in Nailsworth

Places to stay in Nailsworth
This self-contained gem has its own balcony which overlooks a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is south facing, light & airy and has pure cotton sheets, a small well equipped kitchen, and a powerful shower.
When you arrive you'll find a small welcome basket of food for breakfast. The bedroom has a vaulted ceiling and the floors are all limed oak, warmed by underfloor heating.
We live at the end of a narrow lane, overlooking a quiet valley on the very edge of Nailsworth, and only a short walk to the centre of this small town, with its range of shops, pubs and great restaurants. Five miles away, Stroud is renowned for its creative culture, frequent art and music events, and its awarding winning Saturday morning farmers market.
  • We had a lovely long weekend in Kaye’s place - the view is even better in real life than in the photos and very tastefully decorated. The kitchen was well equipped and we were even left with delicious local apple juice, yoghurt, croissants and wild blueberry jam! Kaye’s recommendations for places to go were great - including thistledown farm which has a lovely cafe (amazing cakes and thali!) with beautiful views and woodchester park is a pretty walk. We would not hesitate at all to come back again and recommend to others

  • The studio was perfect as a base for my partner and I to spend a couple of nights away. Very comfortable and compact, and it had everything we needed. Kate was an excellent host and a warm and friendly welcome was much appreciated. The view from the bedroom is outstanding and worth the steep climb up the driveway!

The hayloft is very old but we have converted it into a 2 bed suite (one double bed & one big round bed on the mezzanine) with a 'shed bathroom' and a large lounge. It is on top of part of our own house (above the kitchen) but has a separate private entrance and a door onto the garden. There is no kitchen facility - think hotel rooms rather than self catering! It is right in the heart of the village a couple of hundred metres from good restaurants, ancient pubs and independent shops.
The space is large with high vaulted ceilings and exposed beams - it was originally a farm building - more recently a carpenters workshop. It is just under 1000sq foot. It is above the kitchen in our house but has its own entrance and is completely private with direct access to the garden. The rooms are open plan - one is at the end of a corridor and the other is the mezzanine floor of the lounge room. We have created a 'bathroom shed' to follow the contour of the roof which houses a lovely walk in shower as well as a basin and loo.
Nailsworth is a lovely little town. Lots of independent shops and cafes. WildGarlic, Hobbs House, The Olive Tree, The Canteen, Williams Kitchen. Really near beautiful commons and lots of walking, bike riding opportunities nearby. The Stroud area is also a real hub for the arts and attracts a lot of creative people as well as people interested in natural therapies and alternative lifestyles. Only a few miles from Tetbury and Stroud, 30 minutes to Cheltenham and 45 mins to Bath or Bristol.
  • A great stylish loft apartment. Location is brilliant, very easy to walk into the town with good amenities. Hosts were very quick to reply to messages and thoughtful.

  • The loft was simply incredible. Very clean and stylish, and the hosts were excellent. Easy check-in, great communication, with provided local tips. The loft is so cosy, can easily spend hours relaxing in there, always warm with great heating and lots of hot water. The town is perfect for a getaway, lots of pubs, restaurants and shops in a small village feel. Highly recommend !!

Enjoying a peaceful elevated position, Walkley Wood boasts beautiful views of the surrounding valley and neighbouring Cotswold stone properties. The cottage welcomes two, well-behaved dogs*.
*Dogs: Up to 2 well-behaved dogs are welcome at the cottage at an additional cost of £30 per dog. Please let us know if you will be bringing a dog(s) and we will then revise your booking confirmation. Introduction As you approach Walkley Wood Cottage through the winding lanes of Nailsworth, you will notice how the town and surrounding properties are almost hidden by the secluded woodland valley to the east of Stroud. Proudly perched on the side of sleepy Shortwood Road is Walkley Wood Cottage, a distinguished 19th century property with rustic golden stone that immediately casts a warm and welcoming aura. Ideally situated, this cottage is the perfect base for exploring the tranquillity of the surrounding Stroud Valleys and the wider Cotswolds, while guests are also in easy walking distance of the cheerfully eclectic town of Nailsworth. If you’re looking for somewhere to totally relax and unwind, then Walkley Wood is the perfect Cotswold home for you. As you approach the cottage through the cast iron gate and down the stone steps, you will notice a small outdoor table and chairs set down from the lane behind the dry-stone wall. Guests are welcome to sit outside and enjoy the warmth of the summer months in this compact but delightful sun trap. You may find yourself admiring the beautiful architecture and delicate Georgian windows, this cottage was, after all, built in 1852. Although the exact history of the cottage remains largely a mystery, it has been suggested that the building may have been used as a pub many years ago, which could explain the origins of the kitchen skylight. Either way, it’s nice to consider that many happy memories have been created within these historic walls! Inside, Walkley Wood really is the perfect holiday home. Devoid of fussiness and frill, Karen has struck the perfect balance between homely-cosy comfort and refreshing simplicity. Each floor is brought to life by a sprinkling of quirky vintage features, while guests can simultaneously enjoy a bright and Scandinavian-inspired minimalist feel. The living room is the real heart of the property. A log-burning stove immediately creates a wonderful cosy atmosphere, with soft blankets and cushions scattered over furniture to help guests make themselves feel at home. Just a short walk away is the artistic town of Nailsworth, a gem in the heart of the Cotswold valleys. Hut on the hill is located in a small hamlet on the outskirts of Horsley. It is very peaceful and quiet. A beautiful base for walking, sightseeing or just generally relaxing in the Cotswolds! Our Shepherds Hut sits on top of the hill with outstanding views overlooking the Nailsworth Valley and beyond.
The Shepherds hut sits in the corner of the field over looking our chickens, where you're welcome to collect you're own eggs for breakfast (as long as they have laid some!). From the hut your open to lovely walks of the surrounding areas and only a 15 minute walk to the nearest pub and local shop which sell the famous Horsley Sausages - again great to have with your breakfast. The hut comes with a double electric hob, kettle, toaster and microwave. There is no oven in the hut. We also have an eco fridge which is a cool pot outside the hut big enough to keep the essentials cold for your breakfast. Parking is available for one car within a 10 metre walk from the hut. The hut is fully secured and has an electric heater if the Great British weather doesn't come up trumps for your stay.
The Hut on the Hill on situated near the Cotswold town of Nailsworth, a few miles drive from Stroud (with its famous farmers market) and a short commute to the Cotswold way and other attractions such as Badminton/Gatcombe horse trials, Cirencester and Westonbirt Arboretum. Nailsworth has an abundance of independent coffee shops and quirky treasure troves to pass your time. We have several chickens situated near the Shepherds hut. These are cordoned off by an electric fence (don't worry we don't have a cockerel so you won't be woken by them).
  • We booked our stay as we had a friends wedding at The Kingscote Barn and from the moment we sent our first question Ian and Lizzy were quick to respond and so helpful offering advice and even a lift to the wedding venue. The personal touches of the hut itself were fantastic and would make the perfect place to escape the world and take in the beautiful countryside views. The shepherds hut was clean, cosy and had everything we needed to make our stay perfect. I cannot recommend enough and wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Thank you for a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

  • Beautiful, relaxing little hut in a cute location with super easy check in.

    Emma2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a gorgeous little hut, tastefully decorated. It has all the amenities you need and the hosts leave it stocked with tea and coffee and little treats. The views are lovely. It was winter when we visited and an electric heater kept it warm and cosy. If you are there in the summer there is space to sit outside. All in all a lovely relaxing break.

  • We had a lovely night away at Ian and Lizzys place, we wish we could have stayed longer! Lovely little retreat :)

    Hannah2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Such a cute little shepherd hut, the views from the window & door were amazing. We stayed over new year & it was a little misty first thing in the morning, but still wow. The chickens welcomed you as soon as you opened the huts door by running up to the fence opposite & looking at you I would definitely stay here again. The bed was super comfortable as good as a 5* hotels, we had 2 brilliant nights sleep. The little electric fire that looks like a log burner was very effective & kept us nice & toasty, we turned it off before we got into bed & we were very warm, through out the night maybe a little too warm, but we just took the beautiful blanket off us. I loved the little touches like the kilner bottle with the milk in, the tea & coffee which were provided as well as the little boxes of cereals & chocolates. We had a lovely couple of nights away & would recommend it to anyone who wanted a few nights away in something different. I’m sure the countryside walks would be spectacular on a nice crisp day or a lazy summer afternoon. Ian & Lizzy were on hand if we needed them & Ian came to say good bye before we left. Thank you for allowing us to use your beautiful hut on the hill.

  • Me and my friend had a wonderful stay in The Bonnet. Fiona was a wonderful host and helped us out when we got a bit lost. It was also great to be greeted with fresh croissants and jam! The location is perfect with stunning views, a short walk to town and many walking routes surrounding it. Would love to stay again.

  • Lovely little place. Fiona has obviously thought about all the little things, there is everything you need to cook a good meal, beautiful hand made wooden furniture, super cosy with loads of wood for wood burner. Lots of local info (Nailsworth is a lovely friendly town with brilliant little shops). Quiet but fairly central location. Very clean and tidy. Hand written guide book really helpful. Thanks for a lovely stay.

  • A lovely little flat perched above the Ruskin Mill valley in walking distance to Nailsworth. Fiona is a great host. Accessing the property with the car along the tiny streets gave it just the touch of adventure one hopes for on a weekend away.

    Jon2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The Bonnet is a lovely place with everything you need for a short break. We loved the wood burner and it’s the ideal spot for wonderful walks straight from the apartment. Fiona left maps and info of the surroundings. She is a brilliant host.

    Ellen2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • The Bonnet as well as Fiona and Nailsworth are all lovely. Warmly recommended. Especially if you like walking, dogs and birdlife. Or the sound of rain on a skyroof over your bed, which is beautifully crafted by the host.

    Silje2019-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • The Bonnet it's a lovely, quiet place, with thoughtful little touches everywhere, a great wood burner, walking distance to the town and the local pubs. We definitely recommend the place for anyone who is looking for a truly relaxing short break.

Located in the heart of the stunning "Five Valleys" region of the Cotswolds, Stroud is well known for its bohemian vibe and eclectic mix of shops, with Jasper Conran describing the weekly Farmers' Market held in the town as "the Covent Garden of the Cotswolds". The Five Valleys converge on Stroud and contain some of the most beautiful countryside Britain has to offer. Butterrow Gate is also well placed for exploring further afield, with the spa towns of Bath and Cheltenham both within easy reach. Important Customer Notice: - Special Events: Christmas, New Year and the Cheltenham Horse Racing Festival are Special Events, with bookings typically limited to weeks only from a specific start day If your dates don’t appear to fit, then please click Contact Host below to find out what options may exist for you!
The green front door opens into an entrance hall which houses the washing machine/tumble dryer, and the following rooms are on the ground floor: Living/dining room: Laid with beautiful flagstone flooring, this uniquely shaped room features original Cotswold stone walls, pretty stone mullion windows and a cosy wood burning stove. Tastefully decorated, this room contains a sofa, a footstool and an armchair, along with a Freesat TV with DVD player and a small dining table with drop down leaves which comfortably seats two; Kitchen: This compact yet well-equipped space contains an electric oven with four ring-induction hob, a dishwasher, Morphy Richards coffee machine, a fridge with a small freezer compartment, a kettle and toaster; Family bathroom: Located off the entrance hall, this room contains a walk-in shower, toilet and wash basin. Stairs lead up from the living area directly into the characterful bedroom: Master bedroom: With original Elm floorboards dating back to 1825, and exposed Cotswold stone walls, this bedroom has a romantic ambience and stunning views from the stone mullion windows over the pretty market town of Stroud and the surrounding valley. There is a pretty wrought iron double bed and two occasional chairs, as well an ornamental stone fireplace and a double wardrobe. The stable door from the bedroom opens onto the outside patio area decorated with pretty pots and featuring the walk-on glass area directly above the kitchen. Three steps lead up to a larger patio area with stunning views of the surrounding countryside and the market town of Stroud. This private, sunny space has an outdoor table, two chairs and a wooden bench, perfect for relaxing on warm summer days. A charcoal barbecue is provided from April to September, and there is a chiminea for cooler evenings. The outside space can also be accessed via a right of way through the neighbour’s garden and on street parking is available close to the property.
Encircled by five sweeping valleys opening out to the River Severn and made famous by Laurie Lee's novel "Cider with Rosie", the scenery is dramatic around Stroud. The town and its surrounding villages provide a great base from which to explore the undiscovered south Cotswolds, as well as for day trips to Bristol and Bath. London is just a 90 minute direct train away. At a time when the prevalence of chain stores has turned many of Britain's High Streets into copies of each other, Stroud is a welcome relief. With a bohemian vibe and an enviable array of independent shops, Stroud offers a unique shopping experience unrivalled by any town or city in the locality. Brimming with character and standing amidst the dramatic backdrop of the Five Valleys, Stroud has an eclectic mix of shops in the most beautiful of settings. The award-winning Farmers' Market is held each Saturday and is one of the best in the country, described by Jasper Conran as "the Covent Garden of the Cotswolds". Throughout the summer months, street performers will entertain you every Saturday morning and there is a full programme of music and theatre throughout the year – a true hub of cultural events. Stroud is a place that repays investigation, especially for the quality and variety of artists at work in the area – you could also choose to take part in one of the many traditional workshops! Food & Drink Stroud has numerous places to eat and drink, with a range of cuisines and prices to suit all tastes and budgets. The list below is a small sample of the range of options available: JRooL Bistro (www.jrool.co.uk): JRooL Bistro is a fine example of the sum of its parts being greater than the whole. The team has a passion for food and wine, such that the end result is an experience of food, wine and service that is, simply, award winning. The flexibility of the dining room encourages leisurely family lunches, business dining, appetisers and drinks at the bar, pre-theatre dinners or a full gastronomic experience; No 23 Bar & Bistro: No 23 is a popular, independent Stroud Bar, Café and Restaurant, specialising in tapas and Mediterranean fare. The fully stocked bar serves choice wines, beers and aperitifs to complement the extensive menu; Sorrento Italian Restaurant (www.sorrentostroud.co.uk): The menu offers superb presentations of traditional favourites, such as pizzas, pasta, succulent steaks, chicken and fish dishes, all served in a relaxing, friendly environment. Stroud also has a wide range of food retailers, including an award winning Farmers' Market, held every Saturday.
  • Full of character, had everything we needed.

    Jessica2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great, special and quirky space. Amenities were great and the place was sparkling clean, would definitely recommend and stay again. I imagine it would be spectacular in the summer. Jut watch out for stepping right onto quite a busy road where traffic comes roaring past. Parking was also tricky.

    Lou2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Property was lovely and perfect for a few days away. Tip: don't park opposite the property as you will get a note from one of the neighbours, also take your own milk as this isn't provided. Great stay and great location.

    Joanne2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully decorated, great homely feel and everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

    Anna2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely stay at the cottage and it’s more beautiful in real life with an amazing view. Would definitely recommend and return. Not much off street parking but we didn’t mind parking down the hill and walking up. Worth a visit for sure!

    Eleanor2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful winter break at Butterrow gate. The property is gorgeous, very quirky and has everything you need. It is also clean and well presented. The location is great for exploring Stroud and other local villages. The tips provided by the host were perfect. We loved the farmer’s market, the antiques mill and local walks. It is worth noting that the property is on a busy road and you may be kept awake by traffic if you are a light sleeper. We slept like logs from all of the walking! Xx

    Lucy2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I stayed at the cottage for a week while exploring the Cotswolds. It was such a lovely place to stay. It is exactly as it looks in the pictures small and super cozy and wonderful. We had a really good time. The place was in a good location if you had a car to explore all the surrounding towns. Without a car the cottage it a little but above the town and therefore is a bit less accessible. Contact with character cottages was easy, check in and out was no issue. The only negative feedback is that the place was a little low on essentials. When we arrived there wasn’t any coffee for the coffee machine and there were no other supplies for cooking other than olive oil. However the kitchen is very sweet and easy to use for home cooked meals. We also weren’t informed beforehand that the washer and dryer machine didn’t work and didn’t find this out till arriving, I thought this would have been great to be told earlier in order to organise our washing. Otherwise the place was the picture perfect cottage and we would definitely stay there again. I would definitely recommend a visit for anyone considering it.

Avening Cottage is charming 18th Century Cotswold stone property situated in the heart of Nailsworth, a bustling market town near Stroud with great cafes, bars and restaurants. This cottage has been renovated to a high standard and offers all mod cons alongside traditional features. The local countryside is beautiful and there are great walks from the door or within a short drive.
The cottage is cosy and perfect for couples. There are two short flights of stairs connecting the kitchen and bathroom, on the lower floor, with the sitting room above, and the bedroom on the top floor. Please be warned that, because this is an old property, the bedroom is up in the eaves and there is not much headspace or a great deal of room on either side of the bed (see the photo of the bedroom).
Nailsworth is a lovely market town which has a well deserved reputation as a foodie haven. Just a few minutes walk from the cottage are numerous restaurants, bistros and cafes, including Giuseppe's, William's Kitchen (also a fabulous deli), Wild Garlic, The Olive Tree, Nailsworth Balti, Amalfi, Waterloo House and Egypt Mill. There are also two pubs, one of which, The Britannia, serves good quality pub food. There are several great cafes, including the Canteen. A visit to Hobbs House Bakery is also essential - run by TV's 'Fabulous Baker Boys' and selling mouthwatering bread, cakes, pastries and biscuits. There are health food shops, clothes shops, art galleries and a rather special confectionary shop called Coco, where the walls are lined with old-fashioned sweets in jars, and you can buy a range of luxury chocolates. If you need supplies, there are three supermarkets (Morrisons, a small Co-op and a Tesco Express, open 6am-11pm seven days a week). Nailsworth is on the A46, so just 45 minutes from Bath, and there are numerous places to visit nearby, from towns like Stroud, Tetbury and Cirencester, to picturesque Cotswold villages like Painswick. The well-known Cotswold centres of Chipping Camden, Stow on the Wold, Moreton in Marsh and Bourton on the Water are within an hour's drive. Nailsworth nestles in one of five valleys leading into Stroud, and there are plenty of good walks, either directly from the door to Ruskin Mill or the Horsley Valley, or a short drive away there is Woodchester Valley (nestled in the heart of which is an unfinished Gothic revival mansion) and the Commons of Minchinhampton, Rodborough and Selsley (all National Trust). There is a local vineyard, Woodchester Valley Vineyard, where tours and tastings can be arranged.
  • Superb stay at Avening Cottage, brilliant location right in the heart of Nailsworth but still very quiet. Cottage is well equipped, we spent quite a lot of time in there due to the lockdown. 2 mins walk to pubs, shops restaurants. William's fish restaurant was tremendous! Nice walk upto Minchinhampton for a coffee and also visited The Old Lodge on Minchinhampton common. Would love to visit Nailsworth again, Sarah was a great host and we'd definitely be looking to come back and stay here. Would recommend to anyone!

    Danny2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the cottage was wonderful and the location is perfect as it's only a short working distance from the town. Sarah's communication throughout our stay was excellent. We will definately be staying again and have already recommended it to a few friends.

  • Beautiful cottage in the heart of the Cotswolds. Comfortable, sty;ish and split over three levels, it was the perfect place to relax for a long weekend. Plenty of amenities in the town - shops, restaurants, a couple f great pubs (The Village Inn is great). Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing break.

    David2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely charming little cottage in a great location. The house was clean with perfect amenities for one or two people. Tea and biscuits on arrival.

    Ben2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Would highly recommend this lovely cottage. Great location for restaurants & walks. Sarah is a lovely host & nothing too much trouble.

    Brian2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time in Avening Cottage. Sarah was a great host. We know the Stroud Valleys and Nailsworth very well having visited many times (and one of us grew up in the area), but the location of this cottage was perfect, so close to the town centre but quiet. Everything we needed was provided, very comfortable and well-equipped. A perfect property for 2 people in a fantastic part of the country. Every chance we will be back!

    Rob2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time in this beautiful cottage! Close to everything you would need and Sarah was a fantastic host from start to finish. Would recommend to anyone - very sad to leave!

    Jamie2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is in the most brilliant location in the heart of the Cotswold, the little touches Sarah added to the apartment really made our stay feel special. Amazing weekend and would recommend to anyone trying to escape the City.

Minchinhampton is a very attractive, thriving hilltop town, situated on a tongue of high land between the Golden Valley and the Nailsworth Valley, 1.5 miles north east of Nailsworth. The town also sits on the eastern fringes of Minchinhampton Common, high above the valleys that were once prosperous with the production of cloth. The centre of Minchinhampton is a picture-postcard image of what people expect of a small Cotswold town, with a selection of nice shops and places to eat. The town is centred on its High Street and old Market Square, the main feature of which is the late 17th century Market House, supported on stone columns. The interesting Holy Trinity Church dates from the 12th century and has a truncated spire looking over the Market Square. The church was given to Caen's Abbaye aux Dames by William the Conqueror and then in 1415 passed to Syon Abbey, in whose hands it remained until the Dissolution. Minchinhampton Common is a large area of open grassland with spectacular views over the Stroud and Nailsworth valleys. The area is owned by National Trust and is an important archaeological landscape, with prehistoric field systems, burial mounds and the remains of a defensive earthwork, known as The Bulwarks. In the summer the Commons are grazed by local commoners' cattle. The area covers 635 acres and is renowned for its colourful array of wild flowers and butterflies. Food & Drink For a small market town, Minchinhampton is fortunate to be blessed with a number of good places to eat and drink: The Crown Inn (https://www.thecrown-minchinhampton.com/): Roaring fires, a restaurant serving up locally inspired flavours, and a cellar stocked full of craft ales, fine wines, and fizz - when it comes to Cotswold country pubs, The Crown Inn is the perfect place to meet, eat, and make great memories. The Ragged Cot (www.theraggedcot.co.uk): Perched high on the Cotswolds outside the ancient market town of Minchinhampton sits the Ragged Cot, a country inn getaway created for serious pleasure seekers. Born of a 17th century coaching house inn set beside six hundred acres of National Trust common land the Ragged Cot is a pretty special place with an intriguing history of highwaymen and pilferage. The proprietors of the Ragged Cot take pride in their professional approach to food and service, with the seasonal menu offering great British food sourced from local farmers and even their own vegetable garden. With dishes such as seared ox tongue with pickled red cabbage, pheasant with braised leeks and artichoke puree or just simply ham, eggs with triple cooked chips you will always find a dish to fit; The Kitchen (www.thekitchenminchinhampton.co.uk): Choose a seat by the beautiful bay window and watch for riders trotting by on horseback or perhaps the occasional herd of cows strolling down from the Common. Serving delicious breakfasts, morning and afternoon teas, and lunches, all the locally sourced food is prepared fresh daily; The Old Lodge, Minchinhampton Common (www.food-club.com/old-lodge.htm): The Old Lodge is beautifully located in the centre of Minchinhampton Common. With unrivalled views of the Cotswolds, this 400 year old hunting lodge is the perfect place to escape the rush. Enjoy quality, locally sourced food served in the restaurant, the bar area, one of the smaller dining rooms or al fresco in the spacious garden. The stunning restaurant accommodates parties of up to 85 people seated and has floor to ceiling windows that look directly onto Minchinhampton Common. Minchinhampton also has an excellent butcher's shop and an organic cheese shop: L Taylor & Sons (www.taylorsminchinhampton.com): For nearly a century L Taylor and Sons has been supplying the highest quality meat to discerning customers. The quality of the shop has been recognised with a Cotswold Life Butcher of the year award; Woefuldane Organic Dairy (www.woefuldanedairy.co.uk): All the products are made by hand in the farm dairy in time honoured ways. The unpasteurised cheeses change throughout the seasons as the milk varies depending on what the cows are eating.
  • Great period property in a superb location. Well equipped and attractively decorated. Parking easy and close by.

  • Had a lovely stay in Little Culver. All was as advertised - plenty of space for 5 people, very comfortable and stylish. Loved the original features of the house. Thoughtful touches like chocolates and biscuits on arrival were appreciated and the key safe made our arrival stress-free as travelling from London. Would definitely stay again if travelling to the Cotswolds.

  • The perfect pad to explore the Cotswolds, set in a cute little village. Loved the treats and the garden was so beautiful to sit in and enjoy the rest of the British summer.

    Leo2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful house In the quiet quintessential English village of Minchinhampton. We rocked up with 5 people and found there to be plenty of room for everyone. The Garden was well kept and a really chilled out place to hangout in the sunshine. No negative comments here! The one thing I would say is to bring cash with you because many of the local establishments don’t take cards.

Tucked away on the side of a beautiful wooded valley and above the market town of Nailsworth, sits a well presented 2 bedroom self-contained property, which is attached to a 200 year old cottage. The property also benefits from its own garden space with outdoor seating. Private access and parking available for 2 cars. Unfortunately, we do not allow pets. The surrounding area has magnificent countryside ready to explore. Nailsworth is the closest town and only a ten minute walk away.
Property is available from either Friday to Friday or Friday to Monday. Guests are welcome to arrive from 4pm although this can be slightly flexible with prior notice and we ask that guests vacate the property by 10:30am on the day of departure. Alongside the amenities listed, we also provide Sky Q and a travel cot if required.
Nailsworth is home to a range of fantastic cafes, restaurants and bars. It also has an eclectic range of shops and a supermarket. For the children, there is an amazing play area/park just a short walk from the town centre.
  • Very clean and tidy and in a great location, with stunning views over Neilsworth. Can be difficult to find at first if you follow sat nav instructions. We loved our stay and would use again if visiting the area in the future.

  • Debbie’s place is a lovely space - it is bigger than the photos suggest and space is maximised very well. The place was very clean, Debbie was there to welcome us and the wine and biscuits left for us were a lovely touch.

  • I'm rubbish at succinct professional sounding reviews of things. My wife, our 22 month old daughter and I stayed here for a few days whilst catching up with relatives in the area. The house is in immaculate condition, we loved it. The area is beautiful and is pretty well located for seeing the Cotswolds in general. Host was friendly, and next door in case there are any issues ( we had none ).

Bright south-facing ground floor bedroom with en-suite and kingsize bed, in a characterful modern house in quiet country valley. 10 minutes walk into bustling small town, 5 minutes walk into woods, 3 minutes walk to cosy pub, serving delicious food and local beers. I can usually be flexible on check in/out times, so please let me know timings on booking if this is essential. I have another Airbnb room, click on me as a host and see the other en-suite room with kingsize bed on the same floor.
Bright south-facing ground floor bedroom with en-suite and kingsize bed (John Lewis mattress), in a characterful modern house in quiet country valley. Pure cotton sheets, luxury eco toiletries in bathroom and tea & coffee making facilities in the room. "DIY buffet" breakfast in kitchenette is provided, this includes fresh bread, eggs, cereals, marmalade, marmite etc. The kitchenette is close to room. Fridge, kettle, toaster, convection/microwave oven, crockery, glasses and cutlery available. Complementary tea, coffee and milk. 10 minutes walk into bustling small town, 2 minutes walk into woodland, 3 minute walk to cosy local pub serving fantastic food (Wed thru to Sun) and local beers.
Quiet valley close to bustling town in the 'undiscovered Cotswolds'. Nailsworth is a good base for exploring the area on foot or by car; or a handy retreat for business visitors. Around 50 mins by car from Bath, Bristol, Cheltenham or Gloucester; 15 mins from Stroud. Nailsworth is very much a "foodie" town, with many superb restaurants and bars: Wild Garlic, Wilder, The Vault, Amalfi, Oldstone, Passage to India and Giuseppe's to name a few. If you are visiting over a weekend booking is highly recommended.
  • The Garden Room is so quiet, restful and well-furnished that even a one night stay felt like a holiday. Sal is an extremely thoughtful and considerate host and her b and b is highly recommended.

    Frances2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Sal´s place is in such a beautiful spot in the valley, very peaceful and conducive to rest. We found the bed super comfortable and loved having the ensuite attached to our bedroom. Also Sal was so kind to leave us some necessities in the kitchen (which we didn't even know was available before we booked, so nice surprise). Thank you so much Sal for your hospitality and happy room :)

    Talya2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Sal's Garden Room is absolutely lovely, and even better than the photos. The room is spacious, relaxing and - in winter - very cosy indeed. The en suite bathroom is sparklingly spotless, and everything is exactly as you'd hope: splendid shower over the excellent bath, comfortable bed, everything you might need, simple restful design and no clutter. I felt very safe, and pampered too. There is a brilliant little kitchen, shared with the other guest room. This has fridge, microwave, and even a washing machine. The location is brilliant too, looking out across the wooded valley, yet so near to Nailsworth. Sal is genuinely lovely. The house is perfectly designed for Airbnb guests, with the main family part of the home elsewhere, so you have complete privacy, and don't feel you are intruding. I was only here for one night, but it would be lovely also for a longer stay.

    Karen2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Tucked out of the way in a lovely house with peaceful rural views across the valley. A large and comfortable room and good sized bathroom, super towels with a bath large enough for a good luxury soak. Sal was very welcoming and booked us for an early meal at the local pub which was friendly and an easy stroll. Highly recommended!

  • Sals place is a little dream. Perfect for our one night stay for a wedding nearby and with no hesitation we felt "at home" The space is perfectly clean, with just the right amount of little extras you may need. I slept better there, than I do in my own home and had to be woken up in the morning as I was solid asleep! No noise, or light to wake me up: perfect! I would recommend this place- we didn't use it, but the kitchenette is a fab space to make a little meal.

    Ava2019-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • Another great stay at Sal's place! Just as lovely as I remember it and we were lucky enough to visit on the night of Nailsworth Noel, the local village Christmas festival. Sal kept us informed about road closures, etc which was really helpful. Lots of nice touches like last time - you won't be disappointed here.

    Jenna2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a relaxing time staying Sal's. Sal was a generous host a who made sure we were happy and comfortable during our stay - we appreciated the thoughtful touches, such as chocolates on the beds! The property was in a peaceful area, a short walk from Nailsworth. We had a comfortable stay in a bright room with a lovely view.

  • Sal is the best hostess you will ever meet, her rooms are very nicely appointed and very comfy. Sal’s kitchenette for the two guest rooms offers everything you could want for your DIY breakfast. Tea kettle, French press coffee maker, flatware, dishes, fridge, microwave/convection oven, the works.

Cherington is perfectly placed for exploring the many pretty towns and villages of the South Cotswolds including Tetbury, Nailsworth, Malmesbury and Cirencester, as well as the spa towns of Bath and Cheltenham. Pear Tree Cottage is located in the quiet hamlet of Cherington. Accessed via a lovely patio garden, the front door opens directly into the spacious yet cosy living room. The following rooms are located on the ground floor: Living room: This bright and airy space is full of character and charm, including a bay window, wooden flooring, an inglenook fireplace with a cosy wood burning stove and vintage and antique tables, all complemented by wonderful artwork. There are two sofas, a Freeview TV with a DVD player, and a DAB radio; Dining room: This elegantly presented room is an ideal space for entertaining. There is a large wooden dining table with seating for six, an inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove, a restored antique chair, a converted copper paraffin lamp and an iPod docking station; Kitchen: This well-equipped space is perfect for home cooking and features an electric oven with four-ring electric hob, fridge with ice box, dishwasher, kettle, toaster and a CD player with radio; Utility room: A handy space for keeping muddy boots and storing jackets. This room contains a washing machine/tumble dryer, microwave and an additional fridge. A staircase in between the kitchen and utility room leads up to the first floor landing, off which are the following rooms: Master bedroom: A beautifully presented room with gorgeous views overlooking the quiet country lane from the bay window. There is a king size bed, two chests of drawers (one with a vanity mirror), a wooden rocking chair, plus hooks behind the door for additional hanging space; Bedroom 2: Overlooking the pear tree in the front garden, this lovely bedroom contains two single beds, a chest of drawers for storage, plus hooks for additional hanging space; Family bathroom: A bright and stylish bathroom with a bath, walk-in shower, toilet, wash basin and a heated towel rail. The beautiful rear garden is accessed via the utility room and comprises three different areas. The first section is a lawn bordered by pretty flowers and a box hedge, a lovely setting to relax and unwind. From here, the garden continues through a gap in the stone wall to another well-maintained area which is bordered by flowers, grasses and a variety of fruit trees. This part of the garden descends to one last lawn area, a lovely tranquil space which provides stunning views over the rolling hills and Cotswold countryside beyond. Free on-street parking is readily available close to the cottage and throughout the hamlet.
The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone "wool churches". The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.
  • Check-in was a breeze – Kevin met us promptly and was very helpful and friendly in showing us round. The cottage is close enough to supermarkets to buy supplies (10-15min from many major brands) yet equally set in the countryside to escape from everything. It was perfectly clean and had everything you could possibly need. Internet was great too for film nights and booking your tickets...but you’d hardly need it beyond that because of the beautiful scenery. Would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone!

    Zack2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is incredibly beautiful and cosy. We had a wonderful time and would definitely visit again!

    Emily2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely comfortable & stylish cottage. We enjoyed the proximity toTetbury with an array of antique shops galore! We visited Bath which was an easily managed one hour drive. Beds exceptionally comfy with quality linen. We enjoyed the log burner & home from home feel !Thankyou!

    Helen2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our weekend in Pear Tree Cottage; a delightful retreat. It was warm and very comfortable, and suited the four of us beautifully. We enjoyed cooking in the very well equipped kitchen, and eating in the pretty dining room. Two miles or so from Minchinhampton with pubs (we ate a very good meal at The Crown) and shops, Cherington itself is a lovely Cotswolds village with walks from the door - the countryside around magical with hoar frosts on the 2 days we were there.

    Paul2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Pear Tree Cottage gives you everything you need for a perfect Cotswolds stay. For our winter stay it was cosy & utterly charming. A really delightful place.

    Lindsay2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic cottage in a lovely little village. We were welcomed at the cottage by Kevin who showed us around and let us know he was available should we need any help at all. There is a lovely log burning fire with enough wood supplied to use for one night, we bought more wood from a supermarket ten minutes drive away.

    Georgina2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful little cottage in the cotswolds. Perfect location for exploring the rest of the area. Lovely clean and cosy cottage with a wonderful fire for the evenings. Would highly recommend

    Emily2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic home away from home in a quiet village just outside Tetbury. Comfortable, spacious and well equipped - we couldn’t have asked for any more. We will definitely return for more cosy nights in front of the fire!

A modern house in a quiet cul-de-sac with stunning views of the beautiful Cotswold countryside. Very good size room with tea/coffee making facilities. Private bathroom (occasional night time use of loo by lodger, until end of March 2020). A continental style self service breakfast is provided in the kitchen/diner. Nailsworth centre is a 15 minutes walk. Bus stop is a 4 minutes walk with route into Nailsworth, Stroud which has a mainline train station. Train to London Paddington is just 90 mins
I am a life long yoga/meditation teacher and can offer private sessions. I am a vegan and I maintain a vegetarian household (with the exception of Chessie, the cat). Chessie is not allowed into bedrooms, bathroom or kitchen, therefore I ask that you keep doors closed please. In the hallway of the main entrance, there is an under stairs space for outdoor shoes.
There are many walks from the house, including into the woodland and down to a lovely country pub, The George. Nearby is Forest Green Rovers , the world's only vegan football club. The famous Woodchester valley with the incomplete mansion and lakes, is a walkable distance. Nailsworth is a lovely little town or a large village with many independent shops, a variety of restaurants and a super market.
  • A lovely place, friendly cat and enjoyable philosophical chat over breakfast, thank you Girish for making the space comfortable and welcoming.

    Rokiah2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Girish is a really welcoming host, his house is very clean and tidy and the bed is very comfortable. The bathroom is large & has a very powerful shower. The views from the bedroom and kitchen are great over looking the valley. Chessie the cat is very friendly and was quite happy to stay in the spaces she’s allowed in. Girish has a variety of leaflets with information on Nailsworth and places to eat. I was attending a yoga course in Nailsworth and Girish was happy to give me directions to walk to the location on the paths that crossed the valley. I’m looking forward to staying in his home in the future when I’m attending another course.

    Beth2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a perfect place to stay in Nailsworth and especially for going to Ruskin mill as the walk is really nice. Clean, quiet, nice views, and Girish is great and happy to help out. The cat is adorable!

    Anja2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Girish's house is really great, with amazing views from the room, a beautiful bathroom, it's warm and clean and Girish is really friendly. Also, the cat is super cute. What more could you want?

    Anja2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Recommendation for a stay on Nailsworth. Very nice room with beautiful view as the house is located in Forest Green up the hill (perfectly located if you plan to watch the local football team). Girish is a very nice host and he makes you feel comfortable during the stay.

    Patrick2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Girish and Chessie (the cat) were very welcoming and friendly. All the information about food and services in the area are laid it in front of the tidy bedroom and bathroom. An amazing view greets you in the morning.

    George2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Friendly host with a clean and welcoming place to stay.

    Ben2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Girish's house because I had some business to attend to in Nailsworth. The house was warm and clean, the bed comfortable, the shower fantastic, the location convenient, the view great, and to top it all Girish is a lovely man, very friendly and helpful. And he gave me a vegan breakfast. Highly recommend.

The larger towns of Nailsworth and Stroud are close by, offering a vibrant selection of restaurants, shops and award-winning farmers markets. Grange Cottage is an ideal base for outdoor activities such as walking and cycling, as well as for exploring the wider Cotswolds region and further afield places, such as Bath, Oxford and even day trips into London. • The cottage was very comfortable and cosy with everything we needed for a lovely weekend break.

    Fiona2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • A gorgeous cottage with lots of character and stunning views. We had a lovely cosy weekend with fires (make sure you pick up enough kindling from the local supermarket) and walks through the woods (wellies necessary!) to the pub, finished off with brunch in the well set up kitchen. Be prepared to climb a very steep hill if your car can’t make it up!

    Laura2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Grange Cottage is very comfortable, warm and cosy. It is a classic Cotswolds cottage with great views over the valley opposite. The location, while up a very steep hill, was excellent - - a short walk through the wood to the fantastic Amberley Inn - - and no issue with access with our car. The log burner was a welcome addition on the cold evenings we spent there.

    David2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much for a wonderful stay in your fabulous cottage. It was a beautiful warm, cosy and very clean property with views to die for! I cannot thank you enough for sending back our Google Chromecast so quickly after we left it behind in the property, it arrived in the post today. That is what I call a first class service! Funny thing was that we didn’t even need it as Netflix was already provided. I would like to highly recommend Character Cottages for anyone looking for a quiet and peaceful getaway.

    Sachin2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage had everything you could ask for - 4 beautiful bedrooms with lovely clean bed linen and comfortable beds. Fantastic views and a cosy log fire with idyllic walks around the area. It was very quiet and peaceful and just what we needed as four mums trying to get some relaxation time away from hectic lives and young children. We couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Thank you!

    Caroline2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful house located on a serene hill. Quaint details were added throughout the house which made the experience all the more wonderful. The place was super clean! The only downside is that it is located on a very steep hill & a bit too narrow & difficult to drive up. It was a very good stay regardless :)

    Maznan2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to stay. Fantastic views. Cottage up a steep hill. Pleasant walks from the cottage. Low ceilings but that's to be expected when you consider when it was built.

    Mark2019-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Brilliant cottage, all as described! Even though it rained quite literally the ENTIRE stay, we didn’t really notice because the house was so nice and had everything we needed! Thank you!

This is a 1750's cottage on a country lane in an extraordinary location, 20 minute walk to the small town of Nailsworth, and a pastoral walk through the abundant waters & garden valley leading to Ruskin Mill Centre & Cafe (best homemade food around!)
This is a 3-storey cottage, with an overview from kitchen and sitting room of tall trees and luscious green hillside The close proximity of Ruskin Mill Trust (see below) puts us in the heart of all that inspired the vision for young lives, land and waterways.
For instance(!) I pop into the village health shop on my birthday and they donate me fresh cream to celebrate, I return to the cottage and someone else has left the corresponding perfect apple pie. In short, heartfelt neighbours living their joy, painting, making music, planting veggies & flowers, circle singing and dancing and rambling walks. Ruskin Mill Trust has transformed this Valley over the course of nearly 50 years. It is a truly delightful and beneficial presence in this Community. My now-grown children were inspired by Ruskin Mill classes as part of their core curriculum in college (and Alisdair, one of the founder's sons -see below- was their college principal!). A little history - "The seeds of Ruskin Mill (Educational) Trust were sown in 1967, when Robin and Barbara Gordon transplanted their young sons Aonghus and Alasdair from the hothouse of the Ruskin Centre for Art Appreciation in Venice to the cold-frame of a dilapidated former textile mill in Gloucestershire. They had fallen into fertile soil. Within the steep, wooded valleys of the Severn escarpment, a thousand years of the wool trade had bequeathed Horsley and Nailsworth a built environment of exceptional quality, a pioneering spirit and a keen pride in design and craftsmanship. Over the next fifteen years, they were energised by the inspirations of three men whose visions had helped shape the lives of the Gordon family: Rudolf Steiner, John Ruskin and William Morris. By 1984, they had germinated into the Ruskin Mill Centre for Arts and Cultural Regeneration. In that year, pupils from nearby Cotswold Chine Special School helped restore the mill's water-wheel. The next year, two more joined what was soon to become the Living Earth Training Course. The Living Earth Course combined biodynamic agriculture in a market garden with the craft curriculum sourced from the Arts and Crafts movement, the insights into human development provided by Rudolf Steiner and a commitment to responsible stewardship of the land for future generations. This curriculum, the so-called Descent into Matter, accessed the four elements of Earth, Water, Air and Fire through the three Kingdoms of Nature: - Animal - leatherwork, felt-making and weaving - Plant - basketry, carving and green woodwork - Mineral - pottery, stone carving, stained glass and metalwork Students boarded with local families, and received additional support through anthroposophic medicine and associated therapies. Crucially, students were constantly immersed in the commercial activities of the Mill: the small craft workshops, cafe and other retail outlets. This braiding of practical education, home-making, commerce and environmental awareness gave them the unique therapeutic experience of transforming their environment into useful commodities, for exchange within the market economy. This vision has remained at the heart of the Trust's work ever since." Ruskin Mill Trust says: "This is how we want our world to be: Each individual experiences meaningful relationships with universe, earth and people and has the potential to shape their own future."
  • Heather is a very attentive and interested host and her cottage is so cosy. I had a lovely stay in a very comfortable room and a nice chat over breakfast. Just sorry I was only staying one night but hope to be back again

    Andrew2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing experience my 4 week stay has been. This is NOT your usual Air BnB experience (pristine room, facilities etc etc.) If you want that, then look elsewhere. This is actually something so much more. It's a very comfortable en-suite double room in an 18th century family cottage set in the most beautiful, secluded Cotswold valley. Heather is the most wonderful welcoming host and I was warmly welcomed by her and her family and friends (and Ollie the Cat). From the first moment, I was made to feel welcome and at home and was allowed to treat the house as one of the family. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a down-to-earth, back-to-nature totally chilled out experience!

    Paul2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Stunning location, genuine hospitality.

    Lucy2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed staying at Heather's cottage. It is a lovely country cottage which is spacious. The room I stayed in had an ensuite bathroom with a shower which was a great feature. Heather is extremely welcoming and made me a cup of tea upon arrival! I would definitely recommend this property to anybody wanting to visit this area. Heather also told me about a nice walk from the cottage (which I did when I had checked out).

    Eleanor2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely welcoming house, enables you to have an easy and relaxing time, lovely for a well trained dog (that gets on with a cat) as there are plenty places to take them, as well as the house being pet friendly.

Large, powerful shower, comfy bed with cotton sheets, fast Wi-Fi & beautiful vintage decor. Easy access via private entrance & parking. We provide everything for continental/ cereal breakfast with fresh coffee & OJ in the cool 1940’s cabinet with kettle, microwave & toaster. Great for exploring the area by foot, cycle or car. Lots of local info from friendly hosts if needed!
Our hillside house is set in a 3/4 acre walled garden and is a busy, vibrant family home. We are surrounded by nature and still have easy access to local towns. The lovely, generous guest room forms the lower ground floor of our house and has its own private entrance. Perfect base for walkers, runners, cyclists, golfers, event goers, foodies, naturalists, culture or just exploring! We are very mindful of our guests privacy and peace - and we are kept busy with pets, kids and various comings and goings, so will stay out of your hair unless you need us!
We live in a lovely timber clad house set in a 3/4 acre walled garden in a beautiful rolling valley running between Nailsworth and Stroud- both great towns to explore with an award winning Farmers market, local brewery (with pizza oven), great arts, pubs, music scene and lots of independant shops and cafe’s. We have direct access to footpaths through a nature reserve behind the house (endangered bush crickets!) up to Amberley village and beautiful Minchinhampton Common with its free ranging cows and ponies, ice cream factory, visiting circus, pubs, golf course, great views and kite flying. Or use the footpath down to the Nailsworth/Stroud cycle path, which in turn leads into the lovely canal tow paths. Great for mountain biking pretty much anywhere; golfing at Minchinhampton; walking & trees at Westonbirt; birds & nature at Slimbridge, horses at Gatcombe & Badminton; culture & shopping at Bath, Cheltenham and Cirencester. Or go large in Bristol! Last, but not least we are within walking distance of the mysterious Woodchester Park; or even up to spooky Hetty Pegler’s Tump....
  • Great little space for a weekend away, in walking distance of Stroud and other villages, and the shower was amazing!

  • Great place to stay. Lovely little touches in the studio. Excellent location for exploring the local area with good pubs/restaurants in walking distance.

  • Had a lovely stay here in this cosy, comfortable space. The location is stunning also. The bed was really comfy and we loved the gorgeous chesterfield sofa! I will say that it is worth taking a shower cap if you have long hair and won’t be washing it every time you shower. The shower is an exceptionally powerful monsoon type and it was tough to keep my hair dry! We were out for most of our stay so never met the hosts, but Tom was always on hand via text - I asked to borrow the iron and it was in the room by the time we’d returned from our walk. The breakfast touches were delicious and having a mini fridge was very useful. We had a very pleasant stay and hope to return! Thank you.

  • Lovely and luxurious studio flat.Very cosy, clean and tidy ...I will recommend to anyone as they are indeed super hosts.

  • Not a single negative point to make from our 3 night stay. The accommodation is larger than it looks in the pictures, but remains a cosy hideaway for chilly evenings. It's full of interesting bits n bobs whilst the bathroom is more than adequate inclusive of a powerful shower. Comfy bed, comfy sofa, comfy table and chairs at which to eat your provided breakfast whilst watching the birds at the feeder opposite. The hosts provided tips about the area which we utilised, however there is so much within walking, hiking, or short driving distance we were spoilt for choice. Loved it.

  • This is a very stylish and spacious studio - the interesting furnishings make it feel particularly comfortable and relaxing. It is in a great location for walks and places of interest. The breakfasts and excellent shower are real treats. Daisy and Tom are very friendly and helpful .

  • Excellent stay with Daisy & Tom! I loved the space, the location for walks, the privacy, and a fantastic pub close by! (The Black Horse, Amberley). I certainly hope to return.

In the centre of beautiful Minchinhampton, this detached cosy cottage is open plan in design and tastefully renovated throughout with plenty of modern conveniences. Set in a quiet pretty garden, and with on site parking + Type 2 EV charger, this is a great getaway. Currently and until further notice COVID19 means only key workers can book this for self isolating purposes. up to the end of June 2020. This may change to reflect government action.
The Coach House is a beautifully converted 16th century stables with modern open plan living embedded in a classic Cotswold cottage garden setting. We are in the centre of the charming village of Minchinhampton with its beautiful church with quirky crown capped spire and Cotswold stone as far as the eye can see. Arriving by car or train we can assist with on site parking or "Tesla taxi" service from Stroud station. After entering via a well gravelled path, with a courtyard style seating area, fine weather affords a beautiful al fresco table adjacent to your front door and looks onto the raised bed paved garden with a hammock available for watching the sun setting through the beech trees. Too breezy? you are welcome to enjoy a glass inside our conservatory, which catches the evening sun, (like the garden, this space is shared with us in the main house) .
The Old Swan Coach House is in the middle of the picturesque village of Minchinhampton. Visitors are generally delighted by the established Cotswold village feel, (this is an organically grown village, not a 2nd home centre) and its location for walks and the wider area attractions is considered a massive selling point. It is perhaps why Princess Anne chose the adjacent Gatcombe estate for her wonderful residence. Minchinhampton Common is a few minutes walk and provides a wonderful "big sky" airy clean open space for an early morning or evening walk. During the summer months it also supplies a procession of cows, some of which may occasionally wander past the house and up the high street. The common offers a wonderful, 130 years established, golf course that gives you the chance to observe skylarks, Adonis Blue butterflies, and a range of orchids on this ancient National Trust meadow land. I am a lapsed member and enjoyed the views and the natural hazards in equal measure. It is open to visitors and affords a kind of inland links course with no sand but plenty of natural hazards. https://minchinhamptonoldcourse.intelligentgolf.co.uk A visit to the common often includes sampling the delicious Winstones Ice cream that is made right there on the edge, just near the Bear of Rodborough "chicane". Nearby Stroud offers the award winning Farmer's Market every Saturday and a range of quirky "Stroudy" shops and people watching opportunities. Until November 2019 the Crown, Minchinhampton's only central pub was closed for 6 years and eating places required a drive for evening meals. Since November 8th the new owners, the Lucky Onion group, offer excellent dining and a welcoming pub. This is now a busy godsend to locals and visitors alike. Currently for the Crown, every night and lunch, and for most other restaurants within nearby range, for the busier weekends of the year, booking is mostly required. (Advice on request). Henry's Cafe and Peter and Assumpta's The Kitchen are in friendly competition for great local cafe coffee and light bites - both a very short walk from us in the high street. The Church is active and well liked, it has been recently reordered with underfloor heating and much more, and has an active bell ringing team. Practice is on Friday evenings starting at 8:00 and the Bells are quite likely to wake those sleeping in on a Sunday morning. Cheltenham racecourse being reasonably nearby, booking for Festival week (2nd week of March) needs good advance planning. Our local version of smart pricing applies. Minchinhampton is possibly most well known for the residence of Princess Anne whose annual Festival of Eventing in August https://www.festivalofbritisheventing.com/ attracts visitors from far and wide to Gatcombe. Around that time Minchinhampton hosts, longer than anywhere else, the marvellous Giffords Circus. It has been featured on the list of 50 things you must see before you die and brings crowds from miles around to the big top on the common. https://www.giffordscircus.com/ The National Trust owned Common is famous for its rare breed cows grazing from April to November and the beautiful "big sky" walks are a home to many a high flying skylark and the rare Adonis butterfly. The 130 year old Golf Club and the Old Lodge are popular spots situated in the middle of the common - all our local pubs are welcoming and worth a visit. Also visible throughout the year are gliders from the two astonishingly close local clubs, http://www.cotswoldgliding.co.uk/holiday_courses (where I learned to fly) and https://bggc.co.uk/ The views over the Cotswold edge can be stunning and the costs much lower than most imagine. (trial flights start from £95) From the Cirencester road to Minch, as you turn in to Aston Down airfield is "Jolly Nice" a fast growing organic shop and eatery that now occupies three yurts. The ice cream is superb and the speciality delicatessen has the best quality produce and fantastic gifts (at a price!) https://jollynicefarmshop.com/ Westonbirt Arboretum is a popular all year round visitor attraction just 9 miles to the south of us. Every Saturday the lively alternative scene that is Stroud Town hosts the oldest established Farmer's market, just 4 miles down in the valley. It is also a centre for every type of artist and alternative health practitioner.
  • Pat and Katrina were very welcoming hosts. The Coach House is a really lovely little place to get away to for the weekend and we only wish we could hide from the Corona Virus there forever. The local town is lovely and there’s a great butchers around the corner that sell the best duck eggs we’ve tasted. Thanks for a great weekend!

  • I had a lovely time staying at Patrick and Katrina's cottage. The cottage is very homely with all the amenities guests require provided i.e. shampoo, conditioner, tea, coffee etc. The cottage was very clean and warm and a good base for driving to do walks around the Cotswolds in the daytime. I would highly recommend staying here!

A ground floor apartment situated in an historic mill building located in the centre of Nailsworth. The accommodation is in a quiet residential area a few minutes’ walk from all of the local amenities. There is free parking for one car directly outside the property. The centrally heated accommodation comprises a double bedroom, bathroom with bath and shower over, a fitted kitchen and an open plan lounge / diner complete with a little bit of the mills history.
  • We spent nine weeks in a comfortable, well equipped and nicely presented apartment located only a couple of minutes walk from the centre of town with all its facilities. The host, Kate, was great; always helpful and attentive if we had any questions yet never interfering.

    David2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay. Kate was lovely and made us feel very welcome. The flat itself is a great size, and equipped with all you could need (including lots of leaflets on local walks). It was spotlessly clean and cosy, and an excellent location - a great local pub, restaurants and shops just a few minutes walk away. Thanks Kate!

    Amy2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Our second stay at Kate's warm and spacious apartment, and it felt like we were coming home! Very comfortable and well-equipped, and with some lovely touches. So quiet and peaceful, with great walks and places to explore on the doorstep. Thank you!

  • We had a lovely weekend break in Kate's cosy apartment only a stone's throw from the centre of Nailsworth with its fab restaurants. Five star friendly service and highly recommended. Thanks again Kate. Hopefully see you again sometime.

  • This flat is everything that every other reviewer has already said. Absolutely brilliant place to stay. Quiet, and with great character. I only came for two days, last minute booking to join with my choir who were singing in the area. I'm so glad I found this place. Do visit if you can, you will not be disappointed.

Shabby Chic meets Cotswold Rural Retreat. This beautiful, secluded barn conversion, is situated at the top of a hill, on a working farm, boasting arguably, some of the best views in the area. The Barn is just within walking distance of the vibrant Cotswold wool town of Nailsworth. Just 20mins from Badminton, 10mins from Gatcombe and around 45mins to Cheltenham, guests can take advantage of stables and grazing on Ringfield Farm, where the Barn is based, catering for all equestrian needs.
With 3 double bedrooms, one with a bunk bed (double bottom, single top), a reception area with two sofas, it is possible to sleep upto 9 adults. A Blow up bed can be provided in the communal area or landing, on request. The bathroom has an over bath shower. The kitchen has a gas cooker with hob, oven and grill, as well as a fridge freezer.
With 84 footpaths available, including particularly notable walks to Woodchester and Coaley Peak, it’s worth packing your walking boots. Tree lovers can make a short drive south to Westonbirt Arboretum, which features 15,000 varieties from as far afield as China, Chile and Japan. Egypt Mill is a restored 16th-century mill-cum-hotel and restaurant. Sitting proudly on the banks of the River Frome as you enter the town, the open-plan restaurant offers a selection of Great British dishes made from seasonal local produce. If the presence of all the surrounding streams gets you hankering after something fishy, make your way to Williams’ Food Hall where head chef Stephen Rawicki serves up everything from freshly shucked oysters to delicious dover sole. These are just two amongst a seemingly endless choice of great quality eateries and restaurants including Wild Garlic, Wilder, Olive Tree and Amalfi. The Passage To India and Chop Suey House offer Asian cuisines and Bens a late night kabab. A 10-minute walk or a short drive towards Stroud is Dunkirk Mill, one of the town’s historic fulling mills that dates back to the 1720s. Visitors can marvel at the power of Victorian industry in action as the fulling stocks clack and a 13ft Overton water wheel plunges and churns into action. The quirky Hobbs House Bakery was set up by Tom and Henry Herbert (TV’s Fabulous Baker Brothers) and features a selection of treats: we recommend the Bakewell tart and the lardy cake. Coffee is served upstairs which doubles as an exhibition space for local artists, and don’t miss the “chandelier” decorated with bread buns. Cafes include the Canteen, and just a short drive towards Cirencester, Jolly Nice, an Organic choice that will amaze. The local football team Forest Green Rovers have recently been promoted into the Football League and are from the smallest town to do so in history. Away fans take note: The Village Inn will organise trips downstairs to see where they brew a range of cask ales in traditional styles, but it’s best to call ahead. Sampling their delicious ale upstairs does not require an appointment, but for those searching for an alternative place to recline, The Britannia is less than a minute round the corner, with the Vault the same distance the opposite way. If you are willing to walk that bit further then George at a Newmarket is a classic country pub and the Tipputs at the top of the A46 towards Bath is worthy of the walk with its selection of beers and great food menu. Every second Saturday of each month the town hosts its on Farmers Market, but if this doesn't fit around your stay, then the local town of Stroud also offers a nationally acclaimed Farmers Market of its own every Saturday. You will also find plenty of places to eat and drink there, its own cinema and the Marshal Rooms offering later night entertainment.
  • A wonderful stay in a lovely barn. Our host made sure that everything was perfect for our arrival. Questions were very quickly responded to. Will definitely visit again.

*FREE BREAKFAST ESSENTIALS DURING MARCH* During the month of march we are offering free breakfast essentials for every booking. Come and visit The Cotswolds on a budget. The Flat is arranged over two floors and above the business we run with its own entrance. It is centrally located in Nailsworth, yet surprisingly peaceful. Beautiful cycle tracks to explore, picturesque countryside walks and good local restaurants. What more could you ask for?
The flat is compact yet spacious. The two bedrooms are on the top floor along with a bathroom. The light and airy living room is on the first floor with the kitchen and a shower room. Please note there is a strict no smoking policy in and around the property.
Nailsworth is a pretty market town with a monthly farmers market and a wealth of independent shops. The restaurants serve great tasting local produce and are warm and friendly. Not too pricey either!
  • Excellent two bedroomed flat right in the centre of Nailsworth. Rachael and Martin were both very communicative and helpful providing tips on the local area. Eveything we needed was in the accommodation. Plenty of places to eat and drink. We were visiting to take in a football match involving the local Forest Green Rovers team which was unfortunately postponed but that didnt detract from our visit to a great part of the country. A rearranged fixture might give us the excuse to visit and would definitely rebook.

  • This is a brilliant place to stay in Nailsworth. Would recommend to anyone !

    David2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • A great space with a nice layout for a family with kids. We enjoyed walking around Nailsworth and being in the town. Being right in the middle of town did mean some loud chatter outside on the street on Friday night until nearly midnight. Despite that, it was one of the nicer places we've stayed in the area while visiting family. Would definitely recommend and would certainly stay again.

The barn was recently refurbished and sits in 3 acres of fields and gardens. Surrounded by beautiful Cotswolds countryside, this is the perfect location to retreat and unwind. Everything you need for a comfy stay is here including a fabulous wood burner and stack of logs. There's plenty of great walks on your doorstep . Nearest pub is the award-winning, cosy Hog at Horsley with great food and many local beers. From 20th March we will be solar powered.
Sitting in 4 acres of fields and gardens we are very happy for guests to wander around the grounds. Depending on the time of year there will be fresh organic produce from the gardens that can be eaten or cooked etc. If you are bringing a dog, we have a large fully fenced field where they can roam safely. Please always close all gates.
The local village is very small and has just a primary school, pub and our great community shop selling all the essentials: local vegetables, eggs and the famous Horsley sausage. A 5 minute drive from the barn takes you to the thriving town of Nailsworth and you have everything you could need including Hobbs House Bakery and The Canteen serving brunches and great coffee. There are also larger supermarkets and chemist etc. The Cotswolds towns of Tetbury and Cirencester are just a bit further away. There are plenty of sporting opportunities in the area with racing at Cheltenham, Bath and Chepstow, polo at Cirencester Park and Westonbirt, golf at Minchinhampton, gliding at Aston Down, not to mention the vast array of local walks through the surrounding countryside. If football is your thing we have the world’s most sustainable football club at Forest Green Rovers (National League II).
  • We had a wonderful time at the Barn. The facilities were amazing and we loved the indoor fire and the lovely field for our old dog to plod around it. He thoroughly enjoyed it, as did we. We would definitely recommend this place to stay and we would love to return next year.

  • Fantastic barn in the cotswolds which was perfect for a weekend escape. Location is great to explore the south cotswolds. Matt was very quick to respond to messages and the little hamper on arrival was a very nice touch. We stayed the weekend before christmas and it was nice to have the lights and a great tree in the barn!

Lovely stylish living space which was clean, tidy and a pleasure to stay in. He also left us a lovely hamper with lots of goodies like bread, egg, cookies and other bits. Could not have asked for more if you are considering booking this place, do it!! You will not regret it.

The Retreat is situated on Woodchester Valley Vineyard in the Cotswolds, close to Stroud and 1 mile from Nailsworth town with many restaurants, walks, shops and supermarkets. It offers spacious accommodation with stunning views over the valley, a fully equipped kitchen, log burners in both the kitchen and sitting rooms as well as the full sky TV package in 2 separate rooms. As this is adjacent to a working vineyard, regrettably no children under the age of 12 can be accommodated.
The master bedroom offers a super king size bed which can be made into twin beds upon request.
We are located 1.5 miles from the bustling town of Nailsworth, which has an abundance of restaurants, cafés and pubs for breakfast, brunch and dinner options. We are 3.5 miles from the market town of Stroud which boasts one of the best farmers markets in the country every Saturday. The spa towns of Cheltenham and Bath are within 45 minutes, and the area is very popular with walkers, cyclists and those looking for a base from which to explore the South Cotswolds.
  • We had such a wonderful stay here. Although there are only two bedrooms the communal space feels like the house is much larger. There are gorgeous log burners and the house is lovely and warm. We stayed for Christmas and the host had set up a beautiful Christmas tree with lights for us, and couldn't have been more helpful with various changes and questions we had in the run up. Thanks to you all and we hope to come again this year!

  • Had a fantastic stay at the retreat. A beautiful house with lovely views. It was incredibly spacious for just 4 people. The bathrooms and bedrooms are beautifully appointed with large showers and baths. Great enclosed garden for our little dog and also big garden out the front to enjoy. You are literally staying within the vineyards. We did the wine tasting tour at the vineyard, which we thoroughly enjoyed! Woodchester valley wines were superb! The tasting room is next door to the property. There are some great pubs nearby but not within walking distance. A lovely place to stay if you like wine and want a relaxing time! Highly recommend!

  • This place has the wow factor. The pictures don’t do it justice. The living room and kitchen are both huge and are great entertaining spaces. The kitchen and the living room both open out onto the front garden and drive which was perfect as the weather was so good when we visited! The bedrooms were a great size and exactly what we needed. It is a tad steep if you’re walking up, but it was generally fine and if you can’t be bothered with that then the local taxis were more than happy to take us home. The view over the hills is also fantastic - such a nice view to wake up to. Highly recommended. Gail was really helpful in the lead up to our visit and throughout!

  • Pictures don’t do this home justice. It is beautiful, luxurious and relaxing. Just what we needed for our home base while walking the Cotswolds way.

  • When visiting my daughter in Horsley during the day, I found a great place to sleep and freshen up at Jo's. She's very hospitable and friendly.

  • Jo is very friendly and open with the use of her cottage (even trusting us with her vinyl records!) and genuinely dog-friendly. We found The Hog pub (5 mins away) excellent. Jo had great local knowledge which made our walking trip a great success.

  • We were one night in Jo's house. Everything was as described. She was very helpful and gave us lots of information. She has a characterful home in which we felt very comfortable. we can warmly recommend Jo´s house.

  • We really liked our stay at Deborahs place! It was superclean, with a big kitchen. The house itself was more spacious than we expected. The surroundings are really beautiful and there are lots of opportunities to take a walk. The only thing that was missing for us was a closet to put our clothes in. And one tiny tiny thing was that a separate "showerhead" in the shower would be nice, even though the rain shower is really good too :). Would definitely recommend this place!

This is a beautiful space with stunning views over the fields towards stroud. It is very simply decorated inside with lovely oak beams and staircase. There is also a wood burning stove for extra warmth in the winter months. From the outside it almost looks like a swiss chalet, and upstairs on the mezzanine floor you will find traditional Japanese Tatami mats and futon beds. There are currently no kitchen facilities apart from a kettle, fridge and microwave.
The Annexe is clad in beautiful Larch wood which gives it a lovely warm glowing look, the floor, doors and stairs are all warm wood too. The Tatami mats and Futon beds are genuine traditional Japanese pieces.
The surrounding area is great for walking and cycling, not far from the town of stroud too which has an award winning farmers market every Saturday which has amazing local produce. Stroud is nestled in the 5 valleys in the heart of the Cotswolds with beautiful countryside all round.
  • Such a lovely space! Beautifully decorated and very cozy. If you don't like a thinner, more firm mattress you may want to steer clear; personally I liked the traditional tatami mats.

    Hilary2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful, peaceful space. It was a shame to only spend one night here but we had a great time. Love the Japanese theme!

Sunny, double room in a tall Victorian end of terrace. Perfect for those who want a cosy base right in the centre of Stroud. Breakfast is 'help yourself'. In a big busy, friendly, family, cosy home, with kids, 2 lodgers, cats and fish. Warm welcome assured
Small sunny double bedroom This room on the 3rd floor contains a 4ft 6" double bed, bedside shelves, a hanging rail, a corner desk with lamp and a stool. There is an eco radiator or fan depending on time of year. The shared bathroom is a half landing away with a bath, electric shower, loo and sink. There's another loo next door to the bathroom too. A breakfast of tea/coffee, cereal, toast and fruit juice is included in the price if you stay less than a week (you help yourself). If you're here longer then please provide your own food (our generous discount reflects this). You are welcome to use the kitchen for cooking. We have WIFI which you are welcome to use. The house is a large family and shared 'end of terrace Victorian' home. Its a mixture of classic, contemporary and growing children style. We have 3 cats, lots of fish, several children/young adults and lodgers. The house is by no means 'perfect' - guests can expect a clean and tidy room, with the rest of the house cleaned professionally weekly and kitchen/bathrooms attended to more often. We pride ourselves on a warm relaxed atmosphere for both family and guests which doesn't equate to minimalist immaculate surroundings. Please note there are lots of stairs, so the kitchen is in the basement and the bedroom is 3 floors above.. We're right in central Stroud, minutes from the station and all the shops and restaurants. Parking is available behind the house or on street in front of the house (visitors permit needed except in the evenings and on Sundays). We look forward to welcoming you to our home.
Stroud is an 'alternative' town with interesting shops and cafes, alongside some of the usual high street shops. The countryside round about is particularly lovely and there are many walks that can be done from the house. We're ideally placed for the award winning Saturday farmers market, Stroud Subscription Rooms, Centre of Arts and Science and Lansdown Hall (all within 3-7 minutes walk).
  • Really lovely room and Natasha was really welcoming.

  • Nice and clean room, and Natasha is a super host. Highly recommended...

    Florian2019-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Natasha's house has a lovely lived-in feeling and is full of character and I loved looking at all her artwork on the walls. While there were several people in the house (as well as cats, fish and the newest addition to the family, a cute labradoodle puppy!), it is big enough for you to find a quiet space when you want it. The bedroom while small was adequate for my needs and the comfortable bed gave me a good night's sleep. The location of her house is great, only a minute's walk to the town centre on a fairly quiet road. Stroud is lovely with lots of quirky and creative shops to browse and lots of friendly people to help you on your way - a great community spirit!

  • The house was a two minute walk from Stroud's main street. Natasha's family very hospitable and all very well during the stay. A recommended place to stay. Thanks Natasha! I will be back :)

Great living space, we cooked a lot in the kitchen and slept well in a comfortable bed. Plenty of toiletries provided! Easy driving distance of some amazing country walks - Cranham woods and Cleeve Hill were our highlights. We would recommend visiting Stroud brewery for local ales and Toni’s Kitchen for amazing vegetarian/vegan food. Would highly recommend staying at Alayne and Mac’s beautiful place who were excellent hosts and helped us with anything we needed. Thanks!

Nestled on the hillside above the delightful Cotswold town of Nailsworth, Orion Cottage offers panoramic views of Amberley, Pinfarthings and the Gatcombe Estate in the distance, Star Hill Green and an old country churchyard nearby.
With three bedrooms and two bathrooms, Orion cottage sleeps up to four adults in comfort. As well as the large kitchen diner, the living room also hosts a dining area. Added to which, there is further seating on the patio where you can sit and admire the expansive views.
We first discovered Nailsworth & the South Cotswolds when visiting our daughter who lived near Stroud. We fell in love instantly with its quirky charms, its arts & craft culture and its relaxed friendly atmosphere. Driving through Nailsworth we discovered Ruskin Mill set in a most beautiful, magical valley (one of many) and have been exploring the area ever since!
  • This is a wonderful cottage with a beautiful garden overlooking the valley. It was very much out of the way of the busy streets. It provided everything we needed for our stay; it's a quick walk over the FGR grounds (sadly, no game while we were there), and it's a not-to-bad walk into the city center, where there is a market and many other little shops. And it is not far from the A46 and from there to the M5, and Bath is just about 45 minutes to the south. Two things to consider if you are looking here: first, the cottage is back on some very narrow streets; fortunately there is a parking space in front of the house off of the street, but getting in and out of it can be a bit tricky if you are driving a longer car. Second, the three bedrooms are all upstairs, and the steps are a rather slick wood and require a little bit of care descending. Yet don't let this detract you from coming...this is a great place to stay. I truly loved this cottage, and we already miss it.

    David2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Pat's cottage is warm, comfortable, welcoming and relaxing. It is set in a lovely area of the country and has stunning views. We chose to stay in during the evening's to play board games and complete a jigsaw as weather was inclement, it was an ideal place to do those things, we left feeling very chilled.

    Amanda2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Me and my other half stayed for 3 night and really enjoyed our stay. Great cottage, great area with plenty to do nearby (either walks or by driving). Pat was great at communicating and sent all the info we needed about the property and ideas of what to do locally. Thank you! Would defiantly come back

    Danielle2020-02-09T00:00:00Z

  • Lovely, comfortable cottage in a breathtakingly beautiful setting. We loved our stay at Orion Cottage and would love to come back again. It’s a great base for exploring the Cotswolds, Bath and other areas.

  • Orion Cottage above the nice city of Nailsworth is the perfect place to explore the cotswolds. The cozy cottage is very well equipped with everything you need. The three upstairs bedrooms and the living room downstairs are tastefully decorated and perfect for relaxing after a day out. The beautifull garden and the terrace invites you to have a coffe in the morning sun, looking over the valley. Due to a keybox acess is easily possible at all times. If there are any questions or problems, the owner Pat is easy to reach and replied very fast. I can really recommend Orion Cottage - we have had a wonderfull stay

The carvings in Woodchester Mansion are among the finest of their kind in the world. 3 mins drive / 30 mins walk: NAILSWORTH: The artistic, market town of Nailsworth is nestled in a wooded valley in the south Cotswolds. There are breathtaking panoramic views of the Stroud Valleys from Minchinhampton Common, which sits on the Cotswold escarpment. It is an important archaeological landscape and managed by the National Trust. Rare orchids and butterflies can be spotted along with freely roaming horses and cattle. Arlington Row, owned by the National Trust, is one of England’s most iconic and photographed sites – it even appears on the inside cover of UK passports! Originally built in the 14th century as a monastic wool store, it was converted in the 17th century into a row of weavers’ cottages. The cottages are now lived in by National Trust tenants, with no public access to the cottages or gardens, although one of them can be rented out as a holiday cottage. The River Coln flows through Bibury sandwiched between the main village street and an expanse of boggy water meadow known as Rack Isle, so called because wool was once hung out to dry there on racks after it had been washed in Arlington Row. With Arlington Row as a backdrop, it makes one of the most picturesque scenes you will find in the Cotswolds. 30 min drive:CHELTENHAM SPA 45 min drive: BATH SPA
  • Victoria and her place are so great. She went above and beyond to accommodate me and ensure I got the most out of my stay. The nearby nature reserve was so tranquil and alive. Truly a beautiful place!

  • Great space for getting away from the busy day to day life. Nice walking distance into Nailsworth which has some lovely shops and cafes. Good base for a drive around the cotswolds, we visited cheltenham and cirencester as well as bourton on water

  • Lovely little apartment done up to a very good standard. Very homely and cosy. Fully equipped kitchen which was great as we didn't want to head out for dinner. Was in a good location to a few shops and pubs. Bit of miscommunication with check in, however was sorted quite easily.

  • My husband and I were looking for a quiet night away. We came across this place and thought it looked interesting. We were blown by the beautiful location. We also booked a couple's yoga session which was incredible. It gave us 1.5 hours to really connect with each other. Victoria & Dave were amazing hosts. We will be back again without a doubt.

  • A little gem of an apartment. We also had a few of the amazing ‘treatments/sessions’ on offer by Victoria which we found great. Her hospitality adds to the totally relaxing atmosphere. Lots of walks straight from the apartment. Shops, restaurants and bars a few miles away and yet you feel in the middle of nowhere.
