  • Alison and Katy were lovely welcoming warm hosts, we felt very comfortable staying in their modern contemporary clean home, lovely modern private bathroom with shampoo, shower gel, deep bath and walk in shower adjacent to the bedroom. Lounge downstairs with TV was an added bonus which we would of used if staying longer at the property. As we arrived late, a well lit pathway to the side door was practical and safe with off road parking on driveway. The bedroom has a comfortable mattress, nice linen, alarm clock, hanging rail for clothes, desk, long wall mirror (good for doing hair), plenty of sockets and a well stocked tea tray with ground coffee cafetiere and chocolate biscuits, nice thoughtful touches which made it a little extra special. Breakfast laid out in the kitchen for us to help ourselves completed the stay with cereals, fresh fruit, toast and jams, spreads, tea and coffee. We will try and come back when it is not raining ! so we can walk around the village of North Lopham and explore more of the lovely Norfolk surroundings and countryside .....

  • This is a beautiful home that you are made to feel very much a part of. You will have everything you could possibly need and be very well looked after throughout your stay. With a private bedroom, bathroom and living room you'll have all the space you want, but the greatest part is definitely chatting with and getting to know your warm and interesting hosts.

Green Farm Cottage is located at the end of a quiet wooded lane in Redgrave, Suffolk. Beyond the cottage are wide open fields and a clear view to Hinderclay. The cottage has plenty of room for a large family sleeping a maximum of 8 people. There is a newly refurbished fireplace in the oldest 16th century part of the cottage to keep you warm, and the entire house was renovated and decorated in early 2018. Situated 15 minutes from Diss and 30 minutes from Bury St Edmunds. We love it.
This 16th Century cottage has been lovingly renovated and redecorated by the family who own it, with a brand new roof and insulation, central heating and plumbing to bring this ancient retreat back to life. Three bedrooms are on the first floor along with a family sized bathroom with stunning views across the Suffolk landscape. A south facing garden captures the sun and offers epic sunsets. The cottage is a quiet retreat but with great access to the local villages and towns of Diss and Bury St Edmunds. It is also only 45 minutes to the coast. Local attractions include Wyken Vineyard, The English Whisky Distillery, Bressingham Steam Museum and Gardens, Banham Zoo and Southwold, Thorpeness & Aldeburgh. The area is popular for country walking, horse riding, bird watching on the Fens, cycling, and some great local pubs and restaurants.
  • This is our second time staying and it was just as good as we remembered. The house was spotless with fresh flowers on the table. The house is great for a family stay with helpful extras if you forget yours or don't have room in the car such as travel cot and highchair etc. The local pub is lovely and although you need your car for most places, the nearby fields are perfect for dog walking too. Adam and Sophie are great hosts with A* communication. Hope to return again!

    Nicola2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at the cottage. We came for 5 days over half term - me, my husband, my sister and her husband and their 2 kids and my mum. It was very comfortable and peaceful with just the right amount of space to not be on top of one another. Sophie recommended the local walk from the cottage to Hinderclay across open fields, which we did and loved. Other attractions we enjoyed were all about 40 mins to an hour away: Ickworth House, RSPB Minsmere/the coast and Framlingham. We are keen tennis players and were looking forward to playing. Sophie had said there were 2 public tennis courts 5 mins away. However, disappointingly, we couldn't use either of these as one was a tennis club that was locked up with no one around and the other had no nets and is out of use over winter. However, the cricket set at the cottage and many games, toys and DVDs in the fun cupboard made up for this. We mainly cooked at home and then sat by the cosy wood burner chatting, watching films and playing games. We ate at the nearby Bell's Inn one night. Another night was Halloween so we went trick or treating locally. Overall the trip was a huge success and the cottage the perfect base for our family stay. Thanks Adam and Sophie!

  • Lovely stay at a beautiful cottage

    Emma Jane2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed every minute of our stay here under the big Suffolk skies and it lived up to all our expectations. The house was beautiful and had everything we needed. There was plenty of room for 3 generations of our family. One of the bedrooms is downstairs which was perfect for my mum.. If you want some peace and tranquility then this is the just the place. Not only are the views amazing but a very short walk from the house is a public footpath which leads through farm land and wheat fields where we walked and star gazed and watched shooting stars at night. The beaches of Southwold and Lowestoft and Cromer were all within easy drives. Plus a local pub within walking distance and a CoOp which was a 5 min drive away. Sophie was also brilliant and responded and sorted out a couple of niggles within a day. Thank you for a great stay!

  • We had a lovely stay at Green Farm Cottage with our dogs in June. The cottage is in a really lovely location in Redgrave and is a must for all dog walkers. Literally right on the doorstep of the cottage is a lovely walk through the valley towards Hinderclay. The cottage itself was really nice and had everything you expect and need. The renovations that have been done on the cottage are quite remarkable so well done Sophie and Adam. The local pubs and restaurants are nice and friendly and a must is the White Hart in Roydon and also Mick the Baker / Star Wing Brewery (same location) and Wyken Vineyards. Sophie was a great host and answered all our queries in a timely manner. I cannot recommend this cottage enough and thoroughly look forward to booking our next trip there again soon.

    Alan2019-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • The house is lovely and in a fabulous location surrounded by lots of walks, wonderful pubs that serve amazing food and a fabulous baker at Starwing brewery that also has great beer! We had a lovely week here despite the never ending rain! We used Green Cottage as a base to explore the area. Trips to Cromer for the fabulous seafood, Lowestoft for the lovely beach and Aldeburgh for the quaintness! If you like really great pub food then the Four Horseshoes Inn at Eye is well worth the trip, not only is the food fabulous but the place is amazing. The house has everything you need for a week of relaxing, walking and eating!! Thank you Sophie and Adam for letting us stay in your lovely holiday home. Would come back in a heartbeat!!

    Donna2019-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Sophie was an excellent host. She was very communicative and helpful, with some great tips for things to do around the area. Instructions for our stay (getting to cottage, check in, facilities inside cottage) were very clear. The cottage was lovely, clean, cosy and welcoming. We had a fabulous stay! Thank you Sophie and Adam.

Lovely cottage in the small village of Hinderclay in the countryside with beautiful walks on the doorstep. 15 minutes from the market town of Diss with direct rail connection to London and 30 minutes from the beautiful Georgian town of Bury St Edmunds with its Regency theatre.

There is one double bedroom with a king size bed and a shower room. Guests have their own outside area with a table and chairs for morning coffee. For more images follow us on Instagram @briarways.suffolk.
Hinderclay is on the Norfolk/Suffolk border so we have the best of both counties. There are lovely walks in the surrounding areas. There are two pubs a five minute drive or 45 minutes walk along country footpaths if you're feeling adventurous . Hinderclay has its own fishing lakes. The Peddars Way begins just down the road and you can also join the Angles Way. The towns of Diss, Bury St Edmunds, Cambridge and Norwich are all worth a visit, as are the beautiful Brecks, Thetford forest, Knettishall Heath, Bressingham steam museum and gardens, and the wonderful Suffolk coast with the annual Latitude festival. • A lovely space with a homely feel and plentiful walks nearby!

    Eliot2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Already cannot wait to stay at Helen’s place again! Such a cosy space with lovely touches, from the fresh brownies and milk so we could have a cuppa when we arrived, to all the tips that were left for places to eat in the local area and lovely walks you could explore. The wood burner was already on when we arrived which made us feel super cosy and felt like walking in to a home. It is a space that has really been thought out well with no expense spared on the lovely decor and homely touches. The bed was very comfortable with nice linen but the highlight of our trip had to be waking up and opening the blinds to find wild rabbits playing right outside the windows. A car is a must as the location is quite remote, which is great for that country feel but still close enough to lovely towns and villages you can explore a few different places everyday which was great. We will definitely be back!

    Poppy2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • A gorgeous place from the outside in... has everything you need. Very comfortable and stylish with a great atmosphere. Would definitely stay again. The WiFi didn’t work 100% but Helen and Graham were there for our every need! Amazing Hinderclay guide - we packed lots of interesting things in locally - all within a 20 minute drive. Perfect for a short stay in the peace and quiet.

    Skye2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We were so impressed with this beautiful house where we stayed on our weekend trip away from London. 10/10 for comfort, Helen’s done an amazing job to make this a place of relaxation, tranquility and happiness. Leaving the house on our daily trips away, it naturally felt like coming back to home to put on a log fire and enjoy the warmth of this accommodation.

We have a bright king size room with it’s own private modern bathroom with shower. The house has beautiful views and is a peaceful place to relax , study or write and a great base for exploring Norfolk and Suffolk.
The room to rent is in our home, which is a unique architect- designed house built in the 1960s and updated for modern comfort. The design is light and open and the layout makes each bedroom quite separate and private. We have one room available, a king size with its own bathroom ( not ensuite).
Diss is a small market town set around a beautiful inland lake or Mere . It’s in Norfolk but on the border with Suffolk and has all the shops cafes and banks you might need plus a library, a vibrant arts centre, a weekly antique auction and a small museum.

Wonderful 18th century townhouse in the centre of Diss' conservation area, and next to all amenities of this heritage town. Located on the ground floor, the lovely light studio room overlooks Diss mere and the old town. A spacious bedroom studio, with walk in wardrobe, ensuite shower room and a separate kitchen. There is a nice seating area with sofa and coffee table. French doors lead into a private courtyard - a lovely sun trap during the day - where meals can be enjoyed in the summer.
A separate fully equipped kitchen is adjacent to the bedroom, with washer/dryer, solely for the use of the our guests. There is no parking at the house, however there is free parking close by.
Diss is a historic market town, with quaint tea shops situated alongside old pubs and antique shops. The large green park with play areas, picnic benches, and a bandstand is located next to the town's mere - considered one of the deepest in the country - and home to ducks, geese and a couple of swans. Everything you need is within walking distance, and if you do take a drive out, you can visit local attractions such as Bressingham Steam Museum, a mile west outside of Diss and a must for anyone who loves steam engines and train rides through the countryside. There is also large gardens to stroll around, a children's play area, a 19th century fully operational carousel and a fantastic Dads Army museum. South east of Diss is Thornham Walks, where you can enjoy wonderful wooded walks and a little coffee shop that does amazing breakfasts. Banham Zoo is north of Diss and less than 15 mins drive away - a great family day out.
  • Everything i needed & a great host. Great value for money, would certainly stay again when i'm up that way. Good central location to town.

    Marc2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great studio with a view of the mere. Hannah replies to messages quickly and allowed us to check in early. The studio is in a perfect location in the hub of Diss. I would stay here again and the price is also very reasonable compared to the hotels and BnBs around the surrounding areas. Thanks for making everything so easy!

The cottage is grade II listed and was built in 1768. It has it's own drive for parking. It has the original oak beams and many other original features. The cosy living room has a log burner, sofa and an armchair. WiFi. Highchair and Cot available. It has a large garden with a summerhouse and seating area. It is nestled between Roydon Fen and the town of Diss, both are a short walk away. Roydon Fen is a 49 acre nature reserve. Check yourself in with the lockbox.
This cottage is full of character so bear in mind there are some uneven floors and low ceilings which are part of the charm.
The Diss Mere is a short walk away with many eating places situated in Diss. There is also a children's play area at Diss Park. Roydon Fen is a short walk and is 49 acres.
  • Beautiful little cottage tucked away on the outskirts of Diss. Spotlessly clean, cosy, with absolutely everything you would need. Large garden that our dog would dream of and gorgeous cows in the fields next door. Wish we could have stayed longer.

  • The cottage is beautiful, the pictures really don’t do it justice. Everything we needed was there including thoughtful extras such as milk and wine in the fridge on arrival. Sandy is quick to respond to any queries and is welcoming and helpful in her communication. We really couldn’t fault anything.

  • Wonderful place to stay, highly recommend.

    Mary2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful weekend at Sandy's house. Sandy was a fantastic host, quick to respond to any question, and kindly put up a cot and stair gate for my son at the very last minute. The house was even better than the pictures show, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and there were thoughtful touches including toiletries, milk and biscuits! Thank you Sandy, we hope to come and stay again in the future

    Amanda2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Prior to my arrival Sandy provided me with detailed instructions on how to get to the property. I had therefore no issues with getting there despite my late arrival. The cottage was spotless clean and had absolutely everything you’d need during your stay. The bed was very comfy and I had a good night sleep before my business meeting in the morning. I’d definitely recommend Sandy as a host.

  • We had an amazing few days at Caroline’s place. Great walks near by, very safe garden for dogs and the barn had everything we needed and more. Like the other reviews say, the pictures do not do justice.

    Jenny2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • It was a treat to stay in Caroline’s beautiful barn. You can believe the pictures this place is amazing and Caroline is an excellent host.

  • The standard of this accommodation is exceptional and it’s by far the best Airbnb we’ve stayed at. Immaculately clean, modern and a lovely place to stay. Comfy beds, good quality bed linen and towels. Thoughtful touches such as cake and fresh flowers on arrival. Fully equipped kitchen and basics such as bread, milk, eggs, cereals, coffee and tea left for us which were much appreciated. We enjoyed having the wood burning stove on in the evenings and loved the light airy space. Lovely view and rural location - nice for walks. Will be recommending to friends and would love to stay again if in the area. Thank you Caroline for your hospitality x

    Rebecca2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • wow, wow, wow, wow this home is the best we have ever stayed in , Its super clean and super modern but feels so cosy . I must admit we dont normally book places that allow dog but based on the reviews I was prepared to take the risk, There was no evidence of this being a dog free zone Thankfully . We have nothing against dogs I may add . The space is out of this world ,The furnishings are of high quality and make the house a home .We stayed for only two nights but we have already booked a week in the summer .The outside space goes on and on the private back decking area is also a space we are looking forward to on our next visit, The beds and the bedding are of high quality as are the en suite bathrooms . Very kind welcome cake and basic supplies in the fridge ,eggs ,bread ,butter and milk .The log burner was a cosy extra to go home to after exploring Suffolk .We had two great meals out you do need a car to get to locations . You will be mad not to book this home . Caroline is a lovely warm welcoming lady , BOOK IT ,BOOK IT .

  • Great accommodation, Caroline was a great host. The place was spotless with everything we needed. We come back in the winter or summer. Fully recommended. 5 stars

    Paul2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was the most amazing place to stay - if we could give Caroline more than 5 stars then we would! Everything that we needed was there for us with lots of little touches that make a stay just that little bit more special; a beautiful Christmas tree, fresh chocolate cake and even a bottle of bubbly to see in the New Year! The barn was beyond better than the photographs and was immaculate and clean; beautiful bed linen and comfortable beds. The kitchen had all that we needed and was again sparkly clean. We were very sad to leave this place and would highly recommend it to anyone. Thank you Caroline!!

The wood cabin is situated in a beautiful meadowland. There is an outside patio area with table & chairs, a sofa & firepit/bbq. The interior of the cabin is lovingly handmade. It has a comfy double bed, a sofa and a wood burning stove to keep you cosy during the evening. There's a basic kitchen, small oven, hob, kettle, toaster. Cold running water & electricty. The bathroom has a toilet and sink. Instagram: life_at_walnut_tree_farm
In 1970 Roger Deakin acquired Walnut Tree Farm, a semi-ruined Elizabethan farmhouse deep in the countryside of northern Suffolk, on the edge of Mellis Green, the largest area of common grazing land in England. Deakin bought the farm and lovingly restored it, dredging the moat (in which he swam daily), planting woods and buying more of the surrounding fields, where he grew hay and wild flowers. Walnut Tree Farm became a place of pilgrimage and inspiration for nature-lovers, writers, intellectuals and artists, while Deakin's Waterlog has become a much-loved classic of nature writing and gave impetus to the wild swimming movement.
Mellis Common is a place of natural beauty. There are great walks on the farms doorstep. Thornham woods takes about 30 minutes to walk to. There is a tea room and pub in thornham as well as a pub in Mellis. Eye is a ten minute drive away and is host to a range of shops and a few takeaways.
  • The perfect place to escape city life and reconnect with nature. The cabin was cosy and eclectic, and so peaceful set in a field surrounded by trees and animals. We even braved a dip in the moat - freezing but invigorating! Would highly recommend

    Rose2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful, cosy and thoughtfully designed cabin with views across the fields. We saw pheasant, deer and rabbits from the comfort of the sofa. Close to some great country walks. Jasmin was really helpful and accommodating. Highly recommend.

    Caroline2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cabin in a beautiful area. The wood burner kept us nice and toasty even in winter. The grounds are lovely and full of wildlife - we even saw a couple of deer! Great spot for walking and to escape for a few days.

    Elise2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • I booked very last minute but Jasmin was happy to accommodate. Easy to find with instructions and the extra touches to the place were fantastic. I stayed early January and although the temp dropped to low single figures overnight, the log burner and heater kept us warm and comfortable overnight. The water was 4.6 degrees so I opted against a dip but will back for that.

    Michelle2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was beautiful and cosy perfect for a little escape in nature. Both Jasmine and Titus were really helpful and welcoming. It was just what we were looking for.

  • Thank you for such a lovely stay, what a beautiful setting to see the in new year, just what we needed to recharge ready for 2020! The wood cabin was so cosy and quirky and we hope to be back in the warmer weather for a dip in the moat!

    Ella2020-01-02T00:00:00Z

Welcome to my home, a peaceful idyllic bungalow in the heart of the beautiful South Norfolk countryside. I am two miles outside the market town of Diss with its excellent amenities and facilities, supermarkets, restaurants and the charming Diss Mere. Diss has a railway station with regular and reliable links to both Norwich and London. This location is ideal for a short relaxing break or a perfect base for something a little more adventurous.
You are welcome to use my sitting room and kitchen and to spend time in my charming English country garden which you will share with Mr Bob, my friendly rescue cat and Lina, Lilly, Audrey and Vie, my free range rescue chickens. Bressingham is surrounded by stunning countryside and has numerous footpaths and walks.
A quiet village of various domestic residencies. A pub in the neighbouring village of Roydon is a 1.1 mile walkable (no footpaths and torch required after dark) or cycling distance, as is the Chequers on the A1066 in Bressingham.
  • I stayed 4 nights and couldn’t fault a single thing even if i wanted to. Alison is warm and welcoming and has a beautiful and spotlessly clean property. My room was lovely and comfortable and the bathroom is really large and impressive. I would have no problem in returning in the future if i needed to. Mr Bob the cat is really cool, I’m missing him already.

Fantastic newly built annexe set in the gardens of a smallholding with 18 acres of paddocks and woodland to explore and relax in. Fresh and clean decor with private CCTV monitored car parking. A private herd of Fallow deer, ducks, chickens, geese, peafowl and guinea fowl roam freely.
The property was built in 2019 and has been finished to a very high specification. It has a private entrance and is set apart from the main residence UPDATE Elm Vale Cottages are open for business and we would love to see you here, but are aware that many people have concerns about travelling. Please be reassured that we take the health and wellbeing of our guests very seriously. The wonderful Suffolk countryside is the perfect antidote to a cancelled holiday abroad, with space to explore without crowds. We are situated in a rural location without too many people around, but we have the beautiful towns of Diss & Fair Green on our doorstep with local shops. More specifically from now on, we will not be personally welcoming guests on arrival (unless you specifically request it), but will provide details of key access before you arrive. If we do see you, then we’ll give you a smile and a wave, rather than a hand-shake, and we will ring you to make sure your stay is a comfortable one. Cleanliness has always been the backbone of our business, and you can rest assured that extra rigorous cleaning is on the agenda between all our bookings. This is the most important thing that we can do at the moment, and so are taking this very seriously indeed. And most importantly, we have toilet roll
Palgrave is a quiet village with countryside all around and a stones throw from the broads. You can also get to some of Norfolk/Suffolk best beaches within an hour. In front of the property is a walk to Fair Green which has a great local pub "The Cock Inn" and an amazing fish & chip shop. Walking along "The Lows" gets you into Diss. Diss is part of the Cittaslow (literally slow city) status town. The aim is to improve the quality of life for its residents and visitors, by resisting the day-to-day hustle and bustle of modern times encouraging people to take time over enjoyable aspects of life, including food.

Charming, beautifully renovated cottage in Diss town centre, a pretty south Norfolk market town. 1 minute walk from the High Street and Diss Mere. 15 minutes walk (5GBP taxi) to the mainline train station going to London Liverpool Street in 1h30m. All amenities, including supermarkets, are within a 5 minute walk. Nestled within the town centre, but still private, you have the entire place to yourself. The home is fully equipped and a very nice place to spend some time.
This house has been fully renovated by myself as I dreamt it to be. I love this house and hope you will too. I am a laid back guy and want my guests to feel at ease and welcome. I live in a nearby small town and will try to help you the best I can with anything you may need. My house is unique and quirky, with a cosy 'rabbit hole' feel to it as you explore inside the deceptively spacious living space. The decor is set to calm and relax you. There is a lovely courtyard garden that is a sun trap on a nice day: great for whiling the day away in complete tranquility and exclusion. Everything you need including direct access to central London is on your doorstep making it the perfect getaway for up to 5 guests.
19 Chapel Street is a 1 minute stroll down to the beautiful Diss Mere. I love walking there in the mornings with a coffee, an inspiring way to start the day as you gaze out onto the Mere and its surrounding period buildings. This is a place to escape to and just take in life as it comes. Enjoy
  • Had a great stay. Close to everything you could possibly require.

  • Beautiful property full of character. Very clean no complaints at all

    Gav2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • I loved staying here, even if it was more room than I needed by myself. The location can’t be beat, within minutes I was at the Mere or on the high street browsing shops and getting some food. The home is lovely, a nice mix of modern appliances and amenities and charming old beams and architecture. The heat worked perfectly and I remained cozily warm over a blustery January weekend. Diss is charming and I expect I will be back, this time with my family in tow. James was very good at communicating and responding quickly and very thorough at making sure I knew where everything was and that the house was ready for me. I felt very welcome and comfortable here. Thanks!

  • Adorable cottage, just what the pictures suggest. Amazing location, we absolutely loved the town and lake. It was particularly beautiful at Christmas time with all the lights. Very comfortable beds.

  • Excellent space. James was communicative.

    Thomas2019-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • James was a responsive and kind host. Our messages were responded to in lightening speed. His home was wonderful! Very clean, very stylish and in a wonderful location close to all amenities. We stayed in Diss to attend a wedding at Bressingham Hall. The home was close to the venue but also in a perfect location close to the centre of Diss. Highly recommended! The stairs were a bit unwieldy for people with mobility issues and proved to be a bit of a pain as we had a 1 year old that loved to go up and down them so we had to be very watchful but otherwise the house was wonderful in every way.

We have two bright rooms: a king size and a small double, each with it’s own private modern bathroom with shower. The house has beautiful views and is a peaceful place to relax , study or write and a great base for exploring Norfolk and Suffolk.
The rooms to rent are in our home, which is a unique architect- designed house built in the 1960s and updated for modern comfort. The design is light and open and the layout makes each bedroom quite separate and private. We have two separate rooms available, a king size and a small double, each with its own bathroom ( not ensuite).
Diss is a small market town set around a beautiful inland lake or Mere . It’s in Norfolk but on the border with Suffolk and has all the shops cafes and banks you might need plus a library, a vibrant arts centre, a weekly antique auction and a small museum.
  • How can Emma and Sid improve every time on their already great hospitality? Yes they can! Every time there is some thoughtful detail: either something for breakfast or a hot tea on my return from office. See you again soon! R.

  • Staying with Emma was a delight. She is extremely welcoming and her home is beautiful, overlooking the Mere. She and Sid went over and above anything we expected in terms of little extras. Our visit to Diss was to spend time with an ailing relative and Emma and Sid could not have been more kind and considerate in assisting us. Super breakfasts, comfortable and very private accommodation, and perfectly positioned for our needs. We will definitely use Emma again when we return to Diss. Thank you Emma

  • Emma is a fantastic host. As a solo traveller I felt assured the whole time as communication was great from the start. The ‘upside down’ house is incredible with a beautiful garden (wish I’d been able to stay longer than one night!) The room and bathroom were v. clean, it really feels like your own space as well and has its own door to the garden. I will definitely return when I’m back in Norfolk!

Large contemporary house at the center of a really friendly and typically Suffolk village. It looks out over the village Knoll and is just 50m from the village pub.
This is our family home when not booked, it is beautifully decorated and has all the amenities you would expect. The kitchen is well equipped, the lounge has a large screen TV with both Sky, Sky sports and BT sport. Upstairs there are four bedrooms, the family bathroom and a separate shower room. The fifth bedroom is down stairs and has an en-suite shower room. The family room has the dining area, the 'second' lounge and the music area, the keyboard and a couple of guitars are there to enjoy! In the garden there is ample seating and both proper and gas barbecues. There is also an outdoor table tennis table, a large trampoline and kids swings
The house is two doors away from the village pub which has just been bought by the village as a community asset. Redgrave is a beautiful village surrounded by scenic rural countryside, great for strolling around, hiking and cycling. There are many good places to eat and drink close by.

  • We had a wonderful stay with six adults and three children at Jan and Bernie’s place. We were lucky to have a week of good weather so the children could really make the most of the garden...the trampoline was a real hit! There is plenty of space indoors and all the amenities you need for a week away. Jan was really helpful and communication was excellent. We had a wonderful time and hope to return one day. Thank you!

    Bronwen2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic stay in this very spacious property. We had a big family group of 3 generations and there were amenities for all. The grandchildren loved the spacious garden, especially the trampoline. Great hosts, Jan showed us everything we needed to know on arrival, many thanks.

Situated in the quietest of settings, in the beautiful rural county of Suffolk, enjoying views of the peaceful countryside from its idyllic isolated setting. From this restful hideaway one can explore the many local footpaths and lanes on foot or visit nearby attractions by car or bicycle. This is a landscape of windmills, churches and nature reserves, with steam attractions, sports' venues and a wealth of local shops, pubs and eateries easily accessible.
Hostlers Cottage is set within the curtilage of the listed farmhouse and has been designed in a sympathetic manner, retaining original oak beams and the introduction of new hand-crafted solid oak joinery features, some from wood sourced on site. As a purpose built conversion of original farm buildings, Hostlers has everything one would wish to find in a holiday home-from-home. As well as a well-appointed kitchen area, there is a separate utility area with washing machine and dish washer. The bathroom has the pampering features of a drench shower and a whirlpool bath with oodles of piping hot water. There are TVs with DVD players in both lounge and bedroom, and a small enclosed garden with dog-proof fencing and patio, table and chairs. Additionally, there is a covered BBQ area adjoining the cottage, ample parking and, uniquely, a decking area set in the middle of one of the ponds. Here one can soak up the rays or watch the sunset with a gin and tonic to hand. The high-ceiling and open-plan design gives the living area a spacious airy feel whilst, at the same time, there is a cosy comforting feel to this little gem of a country hideaway; ideal for romantic evenings for two away from the hubbub of modern life.
We are situated between Bury St Edmunds, Thetford and Diss. The beautiful Knettishall Heath with its wild ponies is just four miles away. The historic towns of Cambridge and Norwich are within an hour's drive, and the iconic coastlines of Norfolk or Suffolk make for a memorable day out.
  • If you are thinking of staying here, do. It is a a quiet, comfortable base from which to explore the area.

The railway wagon is peaceful and cosy. It allows you to be in nature, to enjoy all the benefits of camping but with a comfy bed and stove.
Thornham woods takes about 30 minutes to walk to along an ancient byway called Cow Pasture Lane. There is a tea room and pub in thornham as well as a pub in Mellis. Eye is a ten minute drive away and is host to a range of essential shops and a couple of takeaways.
  • Jasmine and Titus were such warm and welcoming hosts, ensuring our time spent with them was a delight from start to finish. They generously allow their guests to share in the rich history of their home, and have gone to great lengths to make the carriage incredibly cosy, while retaining the rustic charm and DIY attitude associated with Walnut Tree Farm.  A swim in the moat is an absolute must and the magical sense of place here is undeniable. Lovely walks on the doorstop exploring Mellis Common and down the old Medieval road Cow pasture Lane. Our stay was in February and we made great use of the log burning stove and array of blankets provided. A perfect place to hide out in winter but can easily see how spring and summer brings a whole other beauty that we can't wait to return and experience.  We recommend the Kings Head (Low House) in nearby Laxfield for a proper pub grub and pints straight from the cask to be enjoyed sat by the old inglenook fire. Another short drive away is Wyken Vineyards who put on a fantastic farmer’s market on a Saturday and have a great little bookshop.  Also in nearby Diss is Gaze Auction Rooms, the perfect place to hunt down those elusive antique finds!  Many many thanks again to Jasmin and Titus for making our trip so memorable. It will have a lasting effect on us and we cannot wait to return again.

  • Jasmin was an amazing host, very quick to respond and super friendly and kind. She looked after us and all our needs. The carriage is so special and unique. So cosy and so romantic. There's a great cooking area with all the utensils you could wish for. Would recommend very highly

  • This is a unique setting with history, beauty and plenty of nature thrown in. Jasmin and Titus are friendly and warm and enthusiastic. The hut is an experience for those who like adventure and spending their weekends differently. Go with an open mind and you will have a great time.

  • Beautiful, cosy cabin. Wild bit of countryside. Energising early morning swims! Candle-lit evening reading by the fire. Super friendly hosts! All good!!!

    Vito2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • A huge thank you to Jasmin, Titus and Hercules for sharing their wonderful home. Incredible tribute to Roger and Jasmin and Titus in looking after Walnut Tree Farm and the Wagon with such love and consideration. Felt very special to be reading Roger's beautiful reflections on sleeping outside and the Wagon in Wildwood by candlelight the evening before and jumping into the moat to come back to re-read first pages of Waterlog over warm coffee. So much beauty, nature and joy within and surounding the wagon, was the perfect place to slow down. Could not imagine kinder hosts or a better balance of comfort and adventure. Can't wait to return one day!

    Claire2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely friendly welcome from Jasmin and Titus. A beautiful peaceful setting, the railway carriage was cosy, homely and the wood burner kept us lovely and warm. Cooking and washing facilities were ideal and had everything we needed, shower was piping hot at all times. Lovely walk along a track just next door. The beautiful moat was the icing on the cake for us, which we used every day. Our dog Fletcher loved meeting the friendly Herc too. We will definitely be back!

    Mel2019-10-12T00:00:00Z

Poet’s Corner is a cosy two bedroom period cottage full of charm and character, set in the quiet part of Kenninghall in Norfolk. The former home of poet and author Oliver Bernard, the cottage has been sensitively and lovingly renovated with many original features exposed. Whether you are looking for a romantic weekend getaway or a place from which to explore beautiful East Anglia, this cottage is right for you. We are dog-friendly and welcome one well-behaved pooch.
We fell in love with the cottage the first time we saw it and the renovations have been a true labour of love. We estimate the cottage to be originally built in the 16th Century with the upper floor and back added in the mid 17th Century. Guests have the whole house and garden to themselves, so the place is suitable for couples, friends, small families or those who are looking for a quiet place for their creative ventures. The ground floor comprises of open-plan living space with woodburner, a bathroom with shower and a compact kitchen through which you can access the enclosed private garden. A steep and narrow set of stairs leads up to the main bedroom with double bed, and behind it is the second bedroom, which can either have one or two beds depending on the size of your family. Please note that there are no doors on the upper floor and we would like dogs to stay downstairs during your stay.
Kenninghall is a beautiful historic village with a Heritage pub and village shop close by. Stroll into the community orchard and Millennium Woods or relax in the enclosed garden. You may even catch the annual soap box race! Kenninghall is near the Norfolk / Suffolk border and a little further afield you can explore the stunning North Norfolk Coast, Norwich, Bury St Edmunds and historic Lavenham.
  • Beautiful cottage and ideal location in a lovely village. Two dog friendly pubs within easy reach , we preferred the food in the White Horse, but the old wooden snug in the nearby pub is incredible- a must see . Comfy furnishings and bedding , love the two separate duvets , used to have this in Germany, excellent if you have a larger restless sleeping partner ! Marie left thoughtful touches , apple juice, bread and some yummy treats for our dog!! The stairs are quite steep , prob not for arthritic knees or little ones ! Everything is beautifully and thoughtfully furnished and a house book full of useful and informative information. Highly recommended!

  • An immaculate, secluded little barn conversion tastefully decorated with more teas coffees and croissants than you could consume in a weekend! Very close to Diss and surrounding villages, wonderful host, neither too overbearing nor too absent - the perfect balance. Gorgeous bathroom with walk in shower - perfect for those not so steady on their feet; super soft beds; a tv; a place to sit outside; parking directly outside the door...An all-round wonderful stay!
