Paul was a charming host and the flat is part of an old amazing house. You feel like landed gentry. It was a very comfortable room and we were only sorry we could stop for breakfast. Will definitely stay again.

Paul was a lovely and welcoming host. The building and grounds are gorgeous and the apartment is light, clean and comfortable. Bed and linens were incredible, and Paul's place had all the amenities we could have asked for. Thoroughly recommend this apartment for a stay in the area. We'll be back!

The whole experience ,my first with Airbnb was very good .Paul makes one feel right at home and the description was excellent as was a frosty beautiful sunrise which showed it really was an impressive place with a room with a view.

Paul was a most welcoming host for this, our first stay through AirBNB. Paul greeted us with a lovely cup of tea and made us feel right at home from start to finish. His recommendation to visit the Royal Oak for a drink and some nibbles was spot on. After a solid night's sleep, we enjoyed a great cup of coffee and a light breakfast before heading on our way. A truly handsome Elizabethan property in the middle of the English countryside. The views are as magnificent. Paul is the prefect host showing us around and offering us tea when we arrived. He's very friendly and knows lots about the local pubs and eating places which were exceptional and rustic. The bed was so comfortable it would be easy to sleep all day in it! If it wasn't for a delicious breakfast Paul prepared with muesli, croissants, filter coffee, and teas on offer. This is an experience as well as a stay over. We were there one day, we wished we could stay another. Great place for walkers and there's good stables in nearby Pangbourne (10 min drive) for those who like horse riding.

This was my third stay with Paul, due to local project. House was clean, tidy and as always Paul made me feel very welcome.

I had a lovely stay in Upper Basildon which really feels like being out in the country but at the same time was very convenient for my business meetings in Reading and Newbury. At the end of the day I could quickly escape the hustle and bustle and have a relaxing walk in the country. Richard and Lenka were chilled, friendly and welcoming. I found it interesting to talk to them and hear about their 3 month travels around the globe. The room was comfortable (comfy bed!) and overall the house very clean. There was plenty safe parking either in the drive or on just on the street. I’ll definitely stay with them again on my next business visit to the UK.

The crab apple cottage was delightful. Maggie gave us clear arrival instructions and was super helpful. We had a lovely stay and throughly enjoying ourselves.

Lovely cosy getaway. Very quiet and a must for horse lovers. Beautiful views over looking fields where horses graze. To the front of the property are the stables. Cottage very clean. Maggie was very friendly and easy to contact.

What a fantastic host! Was met by the owner as soon as we stepped onto the property and she showed us around; She communicated well throughout. The guesthouse had a clean and modern kitchen stocked full of essentials and even my favourite nespresso coffee machine. The lounge was very cosy with a lovely log fire to keep us warm on a very cold night. Upstairs bedroom was a very comfortable and cosy with lovely bathroom. Overall a clean and cosy place with lots of character and a wonderful getaway for the weekend. Thank you for a wonderful stay:)

We stayed for 3 nights and found it to be perfect and so cosy. The grounds are beautiful and Elodie is a perfect hostess. We were made to feel very welcome. The kitchen is equipped well and all rooms are of a good size. Highly recommend

We had a fabulous stay over the new year weekend. Elodie was informative prior to our visit and was very welcoming upon arrival making sure we had everything we needed. Nothing was too much trouble. The guesthouse is such a gem, very warm and has plenty of room to relax in with a lovely fire which we made good use of. The guesthouse is really well layed out and has everything you might need for a short break. We couldn't fault it and would definitely recommend to friends/family wanting to visit the area. This converted building forms a wonderful, comfortable and very well equipped apartment, with everything from a log burner to a Nespresso machine waiting for you beyond the electric gates and gravel drive. Elodie is a great hostess, including the thoughtful provision of some breakfast staples and very good communication as she is just in the main house next door. I certainly plan to stay again.

We stayed at Elodies fantastic converted stable block for two night in October. I was a little late and Elodie had made fantastic provisions to make sure we felt welcome event though she couldn't meet us personally. The fridge was stocked with Milk, Eggs, Bacon and other wee breakfast essentials which was most appreciated. The whole building is brilliantly presented and decorated to a high level. There is even a log burner in the front room to keep you extra toasty! I would highly recommend staying with Elodie and I hope to return next year!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Elodie's beautiful converted stable. The stable is located within the grounds of their property and is accessed by a private electrical gate. Upon arrival we were joyfully greeted by Elodie and given a tour of the property. We were unfortunately only staying for one night, which we were dreadfully upset about once we had arrived and seen where we were staying, we could have stayed for much longer. Elodie had thought of all our needs including full breakfast workings, bacon, eggs, bread, butter, orange juice, champagne strawberry jam, marmalade etc, the kitchen is fully equipped with anything you could need. The bed was very large and comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and again was supplied with spa bubble bath, shampoo etc. We cannot recommend this property highly enough, you will thoroughly enjoy your stay.

Excellent in every way

This place is amazing. From the start communication was excellent. The cottage was beautifully decorated and was stocked with food for breakfast which was an added surprise. The bed is huge and we had a great nights sleep. It was still chilly enough in the evening to use the fire. The jewel for me though was Elodie's beautiful walled garden which I wandered around quiet happily admiring the spring flowers. Also worth a visit is the Red Lion pub a few minutes walk away for a great meal and a friendly welcome.
