Cottage holiday rentals in Sahara Desert

Great accommodation, fabulous location and stunning views. This rural area is very quiet and with no light pollution clear night skies are just magical. Mostly the temperature this high up is lower than the coast but not always. The coast, which you can see from the terrace, is 20 minutes away by car. The house is modern and attention has been paid to the things that matter. A perfect base for us. The journey up from Arafo is steep for many kms and roads are narrow but often one-way. You do need google maps though – our rental car did not have a sat nav. We found the house in the dark and pouring rain. Juan was very helpful and responded very quickly. Without him we would have had real difficulties with replacing our car which had a puncture and no repair kit or locking nuts on board. Car rental company Record Go (via Opodo) was worse than useless. For organic fruit & veg: La Albahaca in Arafo and La Tajea in Mercado de Santa Cruz. For eggs: Juan’s hens! We will revisit. Loved it.

we really loved the house with the private swimming pool. the pool was a little bit cold, but my children were enjoying it and they warmed themselves up in the bath. my parents in law also enjoyed their stay. thnx!!!

Outstanding location with absolutely mesmerising views !! Away from the cluttered cities surrounded by vineyards I would highly recommend for those seeking a getaway in Tenerife. The places has not only views to offer , fully equipped with all sorts of amenities that one would ever wish for. Ellen is a great host very responsive and helpful. I would definitely be coming back for more !!!

We had a wonderful stay at in La Florida and would definitely recommend for a relaxing holiday away. The house and gardens were exactly as shown in the photos and a wonderful place to relax. We really enjoyed the wood burning hot tub, we purchased additional wood from the Repsol garage. The drive to the house was steep but very manageable for a confident driver. Initially we were given keys to only one of the apartments however as this had two single beds we requested the keys to the second place as this had a double bed and Susana was very accommodating in providing these.

The property is lovely and everything you need for relaxing getaway. We loved the outside area, Al fresco at its finest. Supermarket is situated at the bottom of the road, 5-10 minute walk. Puerto del La Cruz is only a 15 minute drive and playa El Bollullo is on 15 minute drive, bit of a walk down to the beach, but well worth it. also the restaurant at the top is lovely, with a great back drop. If you want a relaxing getaway away from the hussle and bussle, then this is the place for you. Wake up to beautiful views of Tiede and the sea. what more could you want. See you next time.

Elena’s place was well provisioned and a home away from home. The outside patio was spectacular with lounges, chairs, tables, hot tub, and even a ping pong table! The one challenge was the windy roads getting there. Extraordinary scenery, but keep your eye on the road! Great home base for rock climbing at Fataga and Sorrueda.

This is a fantastic place to stay. The house is immaculate.! In a beautiful setting. Very quiet and peaceful. The jacuzzi is a great added bonus!! Very highly recommended. Absolutely would go back again.!!!!! Gabriella is right there replying to any needs straight away.

A nice house in a beautiful location, the garden, and the views of Tiede from it, are absolutely stunning. The house was clean and well equipped and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Maykel is responsive and answered any queries we had promptly. Highly recommended.

100% a week is not long enough! fell in love the casa rural gaida beautiful house, interesting history we just cannot get over how stunning the home is. feel emotional in having to leave to go home. everything as accurate as can be, everything you need !!! love it all round, family very friendly and attentive. Just don't want to leave we will be back thank you for your hospitality we love you !!!

The host Maria is great, always helpful, super friendly and sweet with our kids. We had a great stay in the house and enjoyed the view over the bay and the banana plantation. Maria also provided us with a whole load of freshly harvested bananas which tasted amazing. Totally recommended place.

Very friendly welcome by Aline in the beautiful house. Actually, you don't need to write much, because everything has already been written in the positive reviews. The tranquility is simply outstanding. Apart from the wind and a few birds, you can't hear anything. From the master bedroom, you can see the sea from the bed. Of the 3 in total, 2 have a sea view and one has a beautiful mountain backdrop. Approximately 8 minutes' walk to the beaches. A car is still a must to explore El Cotillio with its many restaurants and shopping and other beaches in 7 minutes. Overall, it was an unforgettably beautiful vacation with very nice hosts. I'm sure we'll be back soon.

Arrival in a very nice Finca, quiet, with garden, solarium, small flowered terrace with view of the barranco and large terrace with all the appropriate equipment for lunch or dinner Elegant house furnished with great taste. Estrella welcomed us with beautiful bouquets of fresh flowers and a basket filled with fruit and avocados. There is a large space inside the property to park your vehicle. The street is a little steep and perilous but the discovery of this property is worth it.

Alejandro’s place is even more beautiful than the pictures, the views from all terraces are simply stunning, so peaceful and quiet. The inside is tidy, has everything anyone could need and Alejandro is very easy to communicate with and is very helpful. We would highly recommend staying here. Amazing value for money.

Excellent place, charming ancient comfortable big house, a great place where to visit the best of GC, quite close to the airport. The host is a real kind and helpful person.

We had a great stay at Patricia’s Villa - this was our second visit after staying in 2023. We loved the views and the extra facilities like the pool and games room. The Villa is outside of Funchal but you can be in the town in 10 mins which was great. Patricia is an excellent host who was flexible with check in / check out times to accommodate our flights schedule and was also very helpful with local information. I’m sure we will be back!

This place is just a little paradise with amazing nature all around and a beautiful view over Puerto de la Cruz and the surrounding valley. We enjoyed observing all those unique birds in the morning, while drinking our coffee on the sunny terrace. In the evenings the area usually becomes foggy and a bit colder, but there are plenty of extra blankets and the fireplace makes a very cozy and warm vibe after all. There is a private grill area for each apartment, we didn’t have the chance to try it, but in warmer weather it must be amazing. The way up is indeed steep and not too wide, but it was less difficult then we expected. Also the location is very good/ quite central within the island, isolated from the very touristic parts, but still all the different areas are in easy reach. The place was well equipped, we did laundry as well and had no problem at all. Overall we would definitely recommend this place to all those who would like to experience the peaceful nature of Tenerife!!!🌿

Great little hidden gem in Ponta Delgada. Loved the Minimarket and Bar next door for a Poncha after coming back from hikes. The apartment is very chaming with cute little details. We loved our stay here and would definitely come back when we are in Madeira!

We enjoyed our wonderful holiday in Guzman's home. What a nice place to relax and enjoy the special nature in Fuerteventura. Guzman welcomed us with delicious cheese and wine and we were allowed to use the products from his beautiful vegetable garden. We had a wonderful time and we'd love to come back again.

We absolutely loved staying at this cozy guest house! It’s so private and beautiful. It has absolutely everything you might need and more! The hosts are the kindest people and we had the warmest welcome! The location is great for exploring the island because you need approximately the same amount of time to get anywhere (it requires a car for sure). Would love to be back there anytime and of course I highly recommend it!

Rita rents out her family's former summer house in Santana. It is built in the traditional style and covered with straw. It is in an incredibly beautiful garden, the only disadvantage of which is a very narrow driveway. Cars over 1.80 m could have problems. Overall, it is really exceptionally beautiful and atmospheric. There are plenty of seating areas in the garden. Rita is a nice and easily accessible host. She welcomed us with a complete package consisting of fruit basket, bread, milk, butter, cheese. Even coffee capsules were abundantly available The Internet is extremely fast at 250 MBit. An important point regarding the location: In the north of Madeira, it is cooler anyway, but we have observed that the temperatures around the house were regularly 3-5° below the forecasts from Santana. That is, it is really fresh and also decidedly more humid (important in winter) Overall, it was a very nice stay.
