Quebec City log home w/ river CITQ #307044

If you're looking for a rustic country get-away, this is the perfect place. Crowing roosters, friendly dogs next door, alpacas and a horse across the street, and proximity to the river - yet also convenient to a good IGA and Dollarama for all your needs. The wood stove is great, but a little hard to get started, so we recommend picking up some fire starters and kindling on your way. Highly recommended!

Le Trappeur rustic cottage

LukianRating, 5 stars5 months ago
We had a great time at the trapper's cottage. Although we were afraid of being cold when we arrived at the accommodation, we contacted Genessee upon arrival who was very responsive and came to help us turn on the wood burning stove. The space heated very quickly and throughout the stay the indoor temperature was warm even without the wood burner being turned on. Great environment with walks in the estate and up to the reserve where you can see deer. The cottage may seem small from the outside when you arrive, but in reality it is very spacious and large in depth. There were 8 of us and we had plenty of space. Change of scenery and tranquility assured. We would definitely recommend Genessee's homes, which is very friendly, warm and caring.

Back to the source! CITQ file # 301628

We’ve stayed at a lot of airbnb’s over the years, and this one was by far one of the best, if not THE best! This place is magical: Tucked away in the mountains with beautiful views and a quiet, peaceful setting, we enjoyed almost four weeks of skiing, relaxing, reading, and writing in this cozy, warm cabin surrounded by woods, streams. Beautiful deer wander through some days. The space is exceptionally comfortable—the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking, the off-grid system was easy to manage, and there was lots of firewood. While geographically, the cabin isn't far from civilization (there's a good grocery store less than ten minutes from the trailhead), you feel like you're in a different, quieter, wilder world. Our hosts, Pierre and Diane, were wonderful—friendly, helpful, and kind, and Pierre was always on hand to answer questions or make a trip to the cabin if something needed his attention. We will be back in heartbeat if we ever have another opportunity to visit Quebec!
