Private Ballard Backyard Cottage with Natural Light

Escape the bustle of the city and relax in a cozy backyard sanctuary. Sample local craft beer in an Adirondack chair in the garden. Watch a widescreen TV from the bed and make coffee in the morning. This adorable cottage comes complete with queen bed, hardwood flooring, kitchenette with Farmhouse sink, kitchen island, fridge freezer, Kuerig coffee maker, toaster, slow cooker, and induction hot plate. With a 50 gallon water heater there will be enough hot water for all your needs. The high end bathroom is completed with a Kohler sink, toilet and hardware. There is also a closet to hang and store clothes and bags. The cottage is heated via high efficiency electric infra red heaters mounted on the ceiling. There is also a whole house ventilation system to keep the air fresh throughout the year (the switch to turn hi/low or on/off is inside the closet). Cable TV, wifi and a DVD player are also available. Amazon and Netflix are included on the smart TV for your use with your own passwords. Free parking is available on the street in front of the Cottage/Main house. The Cottage is a short walk via a gravel pathway to the right of the main house towards the back of the property. Guests are welcome to use the patio seating area outside the Cottage, which includes Adirondack chairs, picnic table, and a Weber grill. We welcome contact via email, text or cell at anytime before or during your stay to answer any questions you may have. During your stay, we like to leave the personal interaction guest dependent. We value your privacy and would love to give you a friendly welcome greeting if we pass. However, we are always available and more than happy to chat, just let us know. The Seattle neighborhood of Ballard has many restaurants, bars, coffee shops, a cinema, bakeries, and quirky stores. The Sunday market is a must. Golden Gardens Beach, the Ballard Locks, and the Nordic Heritage Museum are all close by. The Cottage is around a 20 min drive to Downtown Seattle. One block from the Cottage you can catch the #40 bus to Downtown Seattle, Fremont, and South Lake Union. Uber and Lyft are readily available in this neighborhood. Grant and Bev are garden lovers, whether it's pottering in the garden, BBQ'ing outside the main house or just chilling. Our kids are also outdoor enthusiasts so will be in and out the garden space around the main house. There is also a store room built at the back of the Cottage with access only from the garden that we use time to time. We respect your privacy and space. The patio area outside the Cottage is for your exclusive use.

'the Hut': a Garden in Magnolia

'the Hut' is located in a safe woodsy & quiet area of single family homes. We are close to downtown Seattle & the waterfront (Lumen Field is 6 miles away, Climate Pledge Arena is 4 miles, the waterfront is 2.5). Many restaurants and grocery stores, as well as Discovery park are within a mile or two. It's a stand alone home with a queen bed & a private entrance. Parking is easy & the bus (#24) is a block away. Please note-for those that may have mobility issues-there are a few steps to navigate.

Lovely 1-bedroom retreat with hot tub

Relax and unwind in this cozy first-floor unit with private entrance, patio and hot tub. Our indoor space has three separate rooms: lovely bedroom with comfy queen bed and closet with dresser, full bathroom with rain shower and tub, and living room with large TV, small refrigerator, microwave, and coffee/tea makers. (Note: we do not have a full kitchenette.) The living room sofa unfolds into a double bed. We live upstairs with our elementary schooler, so you’ll hear signs of life occasionally.

No kitchen but there is coffee, tea, toaster and microwave and a full set of dishes and a mini-fridge. ADA accessible. No check out chores.

We are located near the Sound, Discovery Park, the Ballard Locks, the largest blue heron reserve in the U.S., and a quick 10-15 minute drive to downtown. Visitors will have driveway parking, a private entrance, a fully equipped kitchen, and private bath. Carport is your private patio area.

Peaceful Cozy Room Near Park & Ballard Locks

Karen was a fantastic host! Thanks to her care, I had the most comfortable stay I’ve had at any Airbnb to date. Prior to my stay, I asked Karen if she knew of any local hiking groups as my goal was to do a nearby hike. She replied with a full list of personalized recommendations that included both local hiking groups and hikes. She even researched and shared info on a hike hosted by a group for the exact day I hoped to hike. The space itself was thoughtfully equipped, charmingly decorated, and stunningly clean. Everything I needed (and more!) was available in a convenient location. The bedroom had blackout curtains, so I slept very well. Karen even messaged to ask if I was cold, and to remind me that there were extra blankets in the closet. I only got to meet Karen briefly as I was mostly out, but she is a generous, eco-conscious, and seasoned traveller who is fun to talk to. Her cat is adorable and calm. It was a delight to meet them both and stay in their beautiful home!

We really enjoyed our stay here while in town for a wedding. It was spacious and comfortable . The location is perfect for exploring Ballard by foot, with access to many shops, restaurants and bars. It can be a noisy in the evening as the apartment is above a restaurant, but it was worth it for us to be so central. The Renessa was always responsive and went out of her way to make sure a steamer was available.
