Vor über 100 Jahren diente das Haus dem weltberühmten kaiserlichen Gesandten und Forscher Eugen Freiherr von Ransonnet-Villez als Wohnhaus, welcher die Parkanlage mit exotischen Gewächsen und mittlerweile beeindruckenden Bäumen bepflanzte. Im Jahre 2002 wurde die Ransonnet-Villa einer gründlichen Restaurierung unterzogen.
