Incredible place in the clouds, surrounded by lush green forest and cool streams. Cooking was a delight with a surprisingly broad array of tools to enjoy cooking the fresh local ingredients. From wool goods to alebrijes and true homemade comfort food, the few local shops met our needs amply at very low cost, but bring cash. The sustainable facilities and practices are appreciated, and the kids had a great time, saying it’s now their favorite destination in Mexico. Our host was warm and welcoming, always available and helpful, but never in the way, and we’ll definitely visit again.

We had the most incredible stay. Alberto’s cabin has unbelievable views, is very secluded, and is only a 10 minute walk to town. The fireflies put on an amazing show every night, it was one of the most memorable experiences of our whole trip. Alberto was also extremely helpful and responsive at all hours. I can’t recommend his place enough!

My stay at Janet’s place was absolutely perfect. The hut was immaculate, roomy, and very cool. There are two levels with the best spot for writing or reading that overlooks her garden and the valley beyond. Also a small library! The kitchen space is simple with everything I needed (electric camp stove, mini fridge, pots/pans, plates/utensils and filtered water). She provided towels and extra blankets. There is even a sweet little fireplace as the (Spring) nights got chilly. Outside was my own patio where I spent plenty of time just sitting and marveling at the surroundings. There’s a clothes line in back. Janet, herself is a warm-hearted delight! She gave me so much information (on & off script) and showed me around the village, introducing me to everyone we crossed paths with. She set me up with some extras and helped with communication. Sometimes we just talked, but she also afforded me plenty of privacy as well. She made me feel welcome and special. Janet is a true gem❤️.

My stay here was truly wonderful! I wish I would have stayed longer but it’s ok everything for a reason. I enjoyed waking up with the chickens and the sounds of the mountains. It was a lovely space to just be. I love the small fire place and kitchen area. One of the nights my friend came to visit me and we cooked a pretty big meal we had everything we needed also Fres mom took me to her garden and helped me pick fresh cilantro plus another herb for the soup we were making. Everyone was really kind! Also I have been traveling for awhile and most of my cold weather clothes were dirty so I asked Fres if she offered a service and she did 🥹 I was so thankful for the clean clothes!! Just be mindful there’s a walk down for the bathroom and shower. I wouldn’t recommend to someone with mobility problems. Bendiciones y con mucho amor Zee
