Explore thousands of acres of the Bayfield County Forest and enjoy endless miles of exceptionally maintained non-motorized recreational trails. The yurt has direct access to CAMBA mountain bike trails and Mt. Ashwabay ski trails. The landscape is also spectacular. Take in the panoramic views of Lake Superior and the Onion River valley. This is a rustic, minimally maintained yurt set in the middle of the county forest, so come prepared to relax, unwind and explore the wonders of the north woods.
“This was beyond incredible. We loved it. Large, comfortable beds - something I was not expecting for a yurt. Provided everything you could need. Such an awesome space, incredible views. I posted a photo on social media and had probably a dozen people want a link to the space as well - great stay!!”
We are located on Highway 61 in Castle Danger proper. Our home is set back from the road with views of Lake Superior overlooking Grand Superior Lodge. Your private, fully furnished, apartment is adjoined to the home. Restaurants and shops are within walking distance.
“Such a great place and value! Fantastic location just four miles south of Gooseberry. Great views and a lovely property. Grand Lodge Restaurant is just across the street and Rustic Inn Cafe is hardly a half mile down the road (both with delicious eats). Thanks for the painless stay Mona, everything was effortless and as it should be! The frozen breakfast items were a nice touch, made for some easy mornings when traveling with our one year old. We’ll be back!!”
My place is between Split Rock Lighthouse and Tettegouche State Park. The Superior Hiking Trail and Gitchi Gami bike trail are within 1/2 mile of our back door. We are right on the ATV/Snowmobile Trail spur. Gardens and grounds are shared with us and include a picnic table and fire pit. Trails on the hillside lead to a Lake viewing bench with 180' views. The private apartment has beautiful views of the Lake--especially grand are the early mornings for viewing the sunrise over the Lake.
“We twice previously had stayed at Janet’s lovely AirBnB. Our third time was the best yet! Lovely flowers all in bloom, hummingbirds flitting around, and the accommodations were fantastic! Love the new bed, the new sofa, and the bistro set outside! Close to amazing state parks and many attractions. So much to do!”
