The area is full of good restaurants, pubs, wine bars, traditional ice cream laboratories, nearby grocery stores, shops in general. At nigh the apartment is quite and the very comfortable mattresses of the bed and the sofa bed, together with screens at the windows or dark thick curtains, will let you enjoy a pleasant sleep. From the windows you can see the typical road downstairs, Santa Croce in the background, and a wide and bright private court over the typical red Florentine roofs. The kitchen is fully equipped, modern and new. Air conditioning will refresh the whole Attic in a few minutes, in case of a warm day. And in case of a cold day, the heating is on to keep warm the area. The bathroom is equipped with a tub that can be used as a shower for pampered thanks to the double water jet: the standard shower and the large shower pan. You will be just great on foot staying at my place, but if you don't like to walk, there are some alternatives. Very nearby there is a bike rental, or you can download the app "Mobike" to use the bikesharing service in Florence. Also nearby Bohémienne Penthouse there are several public bus stops. Using public bus is easy checking the route planner on their site. Just on the other side of Piazza Santa Croce there is a taxi station, where you can get your cab to anywhere in Florence at honest rates. A car is not necessary to enjoy Florence city center, on the opposite it may also turn a small nuisance. The apartment is in a 12th century medieval tower, a unique and protected building in Florence, renovated in the postwar by famous Italian architect Giovanni Michelucci and recently renovated by Florentine top architect, Luigi Fragola. The location is fantastic and just 50mts away from Ponte Vecchio in a quiet neighbourhood with great small Italian restaurants. It can accommodate up 4 people and it is the perfect choice for couples and small families. It is in the 4th floor and has elevator. We offer daily cleaning service upon request. HISTORY OF THE APARTMENT The apartment is in a unique medieval tower in the historical center. The only tower in Florence with a private garden in front. Actually the building is composed of two different towers, Torre dei Ramagliani and Torre Belfredelli, build in the 12th century. Each tower was built by two opposing families, Ramaglianti an important Ghibelline family and Belfredelli another prominent family but Guelph. During the German retreat, Florence was declared an “open city”, thereby avoiding major war damage. In 1944, the retreating Germans decided to blow up the bridges along the Arno linking the district of Oltrarno to the rest of the city, thus making it difficult for the British troops to cross. However, at the last moment Hitler ordered that the Ponte Vecchio must not be blown up, as it was too beautiful. Instead an equally historic area of streets directly to the south of the bridge, including part of the Corridoio Vasariano, was destroyed using mines. Since then the bridges have been restored exactly to their original forms using as many of the remaining materials as possible, but the buildings surrounding the Ponte Vecchio have been rebuilt in a style combining the old with modern design. The only standing buildings where Torre dei Ramagliani and Torre Bellfredelli that survived, not only World War II but nine centuries of history.

Distinctive and unique one space apartment on three levels, located in the lively heart of the historical center of Florence, few steps from the main square of the city (Santa Croce, Dome, Piazza Signoria) in an old quarter where you can still feel the life of the town, visiting handcraft's shops. The kitchen offers all the facilities to cook dishes of all kinds. The owner provides free tea and coffee. The apartment is equipped with a double bed (2 persons) and a bed placed on a non-habitable mezanine (1 person). The finishes of the apartment were made from natural materials and chemically untreated. The district offers many possibilities to eat something of the typical Tuscan cooking, and wineries where you can taste the best Italian and foreign wines. The owner will be happy to give any indication about that. The distance from the railway station of Santa Maria Novella is about 1 km away and it is served by bus, if you do not want to opt for a pleasant walk of about 20 minutes through the historical center.
