Holiday rentals with beach access in Santana Beach

Big Drop Surf House is ideally located a short walk to Playa Maderas. Well equipped and comfortable, staying here you will feel part of the Maderas community. Gaby is a very responsive and resourceful host. The local restaurants/beach bars are great, close, and have delicious food.

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful beachfront apartment in San Juan del Sur! The views were breathtaking—waking up to the sound of the waves and watching the sunset from the balcony was pure magic. The apartment itself was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was **exceptionally well-equipped** (a huge plus for us since we love cooking), and the modern amenities made our stay even more enjoyable. The AC worked perfectly, the Wi-Fi was fast, and the bed was super comfortable. The location couldn’t have been better—just steps from the beach, with easy access to restaurants, cafes, and the vibrant town of San Juan del Sur. Whether you want to relax by the ocean or explore the area, this is the perfect home base. The host was also fantastic—responsive, helpful, and provided great local recommendations. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. **Highly recommend**

Corrin and Jacq were exceptional hosts. Always present and super diligent. The house, in turn, is perfect: excellent location, equipped with everything you need (and more) and extremely comfortable and pleasant. It was an incredible experience, which I recommend to everyone (especially to those who surf, given the two “world class” waves located within the condominium).

Brian was fantastic! makes you feel very welcomed from the beginning, met us at check in, showed us around and recommended some great spots that we went to! the house is beautiful, well stocked, amazing pool and views! definitely take a 4 wheel drive 😅 but our little car made it

Good space, very relaxing, coffee maker so easy to use even I could figure it out.

The location was super beautiful! We loved hanging out on the balcony. At night we heard a bunch of howler monkeys which was cool. Would stay again.

Amedeo was very responsive to our questions and requests. The place is very clean and the kitchen had the necessary pots, pans, and utensils, for cooking. Bed was comfortable as well. Walk on the beach to town is about 10-15 minutes. This is on the third floor which allowed a breeze in the early morning and evening when the glass doors were open. There is a parking space for each apartment.

Great place to stay, close to everything you need.. Apartment was well stocked and comfortable!! Extremely helpful with letting me check-in early and checkout late. Would definitely stay again!!

Beautiful new house about a 1 minute walk to the main break at Colorado's. Very happy with the stay. Would absolutely stay here again. Air conditioning worked great. The space was clean and comfortable. Great place!

The place is just like the photos, comfortable, clean and with everything you need . Although it is not in front of the beach it makes up for it with the open and green space around , very cozy. The pool area is perfect. Would definitely be back

We’ve stayed at many houses in Hacienda Iguana and this house was by far our favorite. It’s got an amazing layout and gorgeous furniture + comfortable beds. But I’ll always remember the spectacular wrap around screened in porches on both levels. We stayed with our 4 month old and it was so beautiful to give him his midnight bottle in an Adirondack rocking chair on the screened in patio off the main bedroom…precious ‘new mom moments’ under the moon, stars, with the sound of the ocean (you can hear the waves at Panga Drops surf break). The property is located directly across the dirt road from the most secluded part of the beach. We had gorgeous evening walks at low tide sunset and came home to cook dinners in the well appointed kitchen. We had coffee by the crystal clear pool in the mornings and really enjoyed being walkable to Rancho Santanas Taqueria + the cute restaurants in Iguana. Bonus: we decided to elope! Hacienda Iguana is a great destination for surf vacationers. World-class waves are within walking distance. Air conditioners that could make ice cubes. A great reprieve from the tropical jungle heat. Local shops and restaurants with friendly staff. Anything you need you can rent or buy. Private and quiet. Monkeys in the trees. Iguanas crossing the roads. Thunderstorms create an amazing light show at night. 18-hole golf course on location if the waves die down. Victor and his helpers are great communicators and can offer suggestions for first-time visitors. As with most developing nations, there can be unexpected power outages. Fortunately, the place has backup power that can last for hours.

I loved that place. Stayed there for 2 weeks and was supposed to stay only for 1. Definetly a nice place to stay if you want privacy ! Daniel is awesome as well ! Loved him !

We loved the service, friendly staff and everything was very clean, the house was equipped with everything and super comfortable.

I felt very comfortable in the Salitre. I was even allowed to put my belongings in the fridge before checking in. The house is spacious, well furnished and has everything you need. It is only a 2-minute walk to the beach. I thought it was great that I was able to bring my small dog easily. The managers take care of them warmly. Overall, I felt very comfortable in the house. I'd love to come back to Salitre...

The accommodations, the beach, the view, the surf—everything is fantastic. If I brag about it too much, I might not be able to get back in because I’ll definitely be booking again soon!

I loved my stay the place is great. The balcony gives a beautiful view of the ocean and the sunset is breathtaking. The spot is perfect for surfing and enjoying the beach and pool to the fullest. To get to the village it is best to rent a small bicycle, motorbike or golf kart! For sure, I'll be back next year!

Really lovely place to stay. Located in a beautiful spot and the apartment was exactly as described. All really clean and comfortable. A very short walk to the beach where there is a nice bar and restaurant. There is also a little pool just outside the apartment block which was really handy for little ones. Roberta was very helpful and quick to answer any question. We’d definitely stay here again!

Paul’s place was so lovely & spacious for us, we absolutely loved the open kitchen/lounge and balcony views. Everything very clean! Beds were SO comfortable, we had great nights sleeping there. The pool was also lovely & we were the only ones using it. It’s about 10-15 mins walk to town and easy to get cheap taxi’s back. Theres a small shop nearby for essentials. The only tiny downside was the WiFi was quite intermittent at times with all 4 of us using it, but this is to be expected in Nicaragua & we weren’t that bothered! Lovely stay and would love to stay again in the future!

Great location on Rancho. Very spacious. Clean. Kitchen moderately stocked- cooked breakfast there every morning looking at the waves! Loved being near the pool but still being able to see the water. Balcony was great. Would 100% come back!

Uri was a huge help, great manager. Always got us what we needed then and there. Juan Pablo was great as well, always answered any questions immediately and made our stay super easy. Nice kitchen and everything you need for a long term stay. Walking distance to the beach, both grocery stores and Dog Town. Already planning our next trip back!

The only complaint we had about this lovely place was the bed was terribly uncomfortable. We love soft and more cushy beds. We used the cushions off the couch to help, so it was very convenient that those were mobile.
