“It was an excellent experience. Everything in its entirety was wonderful, from the day of arrival to the day we left (we didn't want to leave). María who is the person we made contact with via airbnb is a woman very given to people with great kindness and I try to accommodate everything perfectly for our arrival and departure, on the other hand María Teresa who was our hostess, welcomed us with arepa e 'egg and chocolate in the morning we arrived, oh and best of all: with a huge smile. At all times we felt at home, they always tried to give us the best attention and taste in everything, the food that Maria Teresa prepares is incredible, the house is impeccable and with a particular and beautiful style (out of the ordinary), the atmosphere and The harmony of the house is perfect, the common areas of the condominium are also very clean and the people who work there are a love and given to those who come from tourists. It was really the best decision since every member of my family (who by the way we were 12) and I were fully pleased and yearning to return. Thank you María and María Teresa for making our stay in Tolú an experience not to forget!”

“Our family had a wonderful time in this house! The photos do not do it justice, It’s surrounded by trees and flowers, very open, breezy and with an amazing sea view. But what made everything special was the groundskeeper Eni, she and her family live next door, are willing to help in any way they can and she is a fantastic cook!! We would go back anytime!”

“Sebastián, the host, was very responsive. We changed our mind several times regarding the number of occupants and he was very understanding. Consuelo cooked for us and helped us with the day to day run of the cabin. All her cooking was absolutely delicious. I am stating this at the outset so I do not overload this review with a string of superlatives, although they would be well-deserved. We arrived at 8 pm on Saturday January 4. Consuelo had left rice with shrimp and vegetables already prepared after having finished work at 3pm. She also provided the ingredients for breakfast for the next day before we arrived; Arepa de huevo with coffee and milk. We had arranged all of this through Sebastián previously. We settled the menu for the week with her the next day. On Sunday she cooked fried fish, and on subsequent days she cooked sancocho de pescado, langostinos en su salsa, Cola de langosta, róbalo asado (about two feet in length whole fish baked in the oven), and róbalo a la parmesana. She complemented these delicacies with patacón, arroz on coco, ensalada, and any of a number of fruit juices; maracuyá, mango, tomate de árbol, zapote, piña, guarapo. We bought all the ingredients in town, which is about a mile away. The store across the road is also useful to buy last minute items. We opted for this style of cooking because we wanted to taste local cuisine. However, Consuelo cooks based on a broad repertoire, as you would expect from someone that has worked in a hotel as a cook. The cabin is very well situated within the resort. It has an unimpeded view of the sea, which can be accessed by walking a mere 300 ft from the front of the cabin. The pool is less than 50 ft away. Both the pool and the sea were clean and safe. It was possible to venture out into the sea 200 ft, without the sea reaching your shoulders. The sea was mostly calm although it tended to be a little rough in the evenings. The pool was about 50 ft long, clean in the mornings and the depth of the pool was uniform at 1.4m. The resort itself was meticulously cleaned and cared for by a hard-working and caring staff. The resort itself is quite nice. However, the town of Tolú is poor and run down. Any signs of a possible former glory are now definitely gone. We were told to be careful when venturing out of the resort, and poverty is in clear display. However, we never felt unsafe or persistently accosted at the beach or in the town. Although Tolú is a poor town it is a hard working town, and this appears to hold for the whole region from Montería. Walking on the beach is not possible for very long without coming across rubbish. There is a section of about half mile that is reasonable for walking. The cabin is well appointed and nicely decorated. Other family members stayed at a different cabin. Our cabin #12 was definitely better. We found this resort to be good value and uncomplicated. Just what we needed for a relaxing family vacation. We would definitely do this again.”
