Holiday rentals with a kayak in Scarborough

This lake house suites us very well. Location was fantastic (close to Portland) and the home was well stocked with all of the amenities for lake living, including a 2 person kayak & canoe, lifejackets, etc. Will definitely stay here again!

The property was beautiful! The furniture was comfy. We absolutely loved the beds. (so much we are considering buying a new mattress) The lake was great. My daughter loved getting on the lake. (just bring your bug spray!) The air conditioning unit was amazing! We would love to stay here again!

Our group was two small families with kids ages 6 and 8. Everyone had a great time. If you’re looking for a home to get out into nature, this is it. The private dock and lake gave us hours of time to play outside. Kayaks, paddle boards, and fishing off the dock was fun and all part of the house. Kids had a blast and so did the adults. Perfect for family summer vacation. We had a few rainy days but either played board games inside or went into Portland which is only 20-30 minutes away. Visited Mackworth Island in Casco Bay. Must do if you want to have a day excursion. The house well kept and easy to navigate. We spent more time outside on the lake than inside.

This has been by far the nicest place we have stayed. Super clean and nicely decorated. Wonderful communication by the hosts. Perfect weekend getaway.

Really enjoyed our stay here. There were some ants without leaving any food out - but we were in the middle of the woods, so understandable. Didn’t bother us. We loved this place and would absolutely return.

Beautiful lakeside property! Our family loved our weeklong stay complete with paddle boarding, cozy movie nights, and a generous welcome basket that we enjoyed for our s’mores night. Super comfy beds and cozy interior. Kevin was a fantastic host and was super responsive to all of our questions. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with lots to do while you unplug (or choose to stay plugged in) look no further.

Place was clean and safe. Lots of places to spread out. VERY well equipped and decorated for maximal comfort. The only downside was that the walk down to the dock went right in between two different neighboring properties whose (very large!) dogs were not happy about our presence—their owners even less so. They were easy enough to ignore but it didn’t really make for a welcoming outdoor experience. Not Bonnie’s fault, of course, but worth considering if you have pets, are anxious about pets, or are anxious about unfriendly pet owners.

Our family of 6 (4 young kids, 2 adults) had such an amazing stay at the cottage. There was clear/clean, warm water, a long dock, kayaks/adult life jackets, outdoor chairs, and a beautiful cottage interior. All of the beds were cozy, there were tons of extra towels, blankets, and pillows provided. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals at home. The wifi was fast and reliable (which was helpful when the kids needed a movie). The sun sets every night directly over the lake, and was a beautiful end to every day. Central AC was so nice on a couple of extra hot days, and there were extra fans as well. The lake is so calm and quiet, we met a few of the neighbors who were all kind. We recommend bringing a bunch of sand toys for little ones, and they will play out there all day! The neighbors all kept their own storage areas, and I could tell they appreciated that we brought our own toys and were respectful of their spaces. We will be back as soon as we can! Thank you Adam!

Perfect place to get away and relax. We enjoyed fishing in the morning and evening and sight seeing during the day. Quick trips into Portland, Kennebunkport, Freeport, and the Maine Botanical Gardens (highly recommended ). Locally we enjoyed the Maine Wildlife Park and u-pick strawberries. Picked up some wonderful seafood at Bob’s in Windham to cook in the well supplied kitchen. Mary Ellen and Brian have thought of the many little things that make the cottage a hospitable place. They answered our questions promptly leading up to our trip.

They were accommodating, flexible, and very gracious. They had an entire binder of information with details about where to find fans, towels, flashlights, how to work the shower, heat, grill, and about anything else you can think of. It also had emergency services, restaurants, places to have a good time, and good details about checkout expectations. Overall we were extremely happy with the property and our stay, and were honored by the personalization they did for us specifically as it was our Honeymoon and they wrote us a custom note by hand for when we arrived. Highly Recommended - Will Rent Again!

Lori was a wonderful host for our trip up to Maine. My girlfriend and I enjoyed doing yoga in the entrance room when it rained and a nice sunrise kayak trip out on the lake across the street. My in-laws stayed with us too and we all had great laughs together and enjoyed good food all weekend long.

Loved our time here! It’s about a 40 minute drive from Portland and then 5-10 from Brunswick. The neighborhood is quiet and perfect, exactly what we needed to relax! We loved coming back from Portland and grabbing dinner and gelato in Brunswick, such a nice way to unwind from a long day. Highly recommend and would love to stay here again :)

Location, location, amazing location. Backed up against a beautiful marsh, walking distance to goose rocks beach, close to restaurants like Earth at Hidden Pond, and downtown. As advertised, the pictures are the reality. Nice bathroom with tiled shower and heated floors. Well equipped with everything you may need. Kayaks, beach toys, quiet neighbors. Adorable exterior, fire pit, outdoor furniture. There is a lot of value and it’s a well managed rental. Hosts were very responsive and helpful. Felt like a home.

We had a great mini vacation at Marina's place. It was perfect for our family of four - we loved having direct access to the lake with a canoe, kayaks and a paddle board. The cabin has everything you need for a getaway and restaurants are only a 10 minute drive. Highly recommend!

My wife and I wanted to have a lakeside getaway to kick off the summer! The weather was a bit colder than we had hoped, so we ended up enjoying the cottage to its fullest, which was a much needed and relaxing stay with everything we needed right there. It was very cozy and the lakeside view was wonderful, especially in the mornings. The owner was also very responsive to messages, making the experience seamless. We hope to visit again!

We had the absolute best time at MJ’s place, highly recommend !! The house is spatious yet very cozy and quiet, with a nice back porch to sit and enjoy the surrounding woods! Home is also very close to town and to Poryland/coastline, and the cleanest lake to swim in that we’ve ever been to! MJ was very helpful and quick to respond. Stay here! We hope to return sometime soon!!

Really good communication! Very welcoming. Private and quiet area. Immaculate inside. Had access to kayak, outside firepit and pond. Outside furniture to enjoy the pond and property.

The cabin was cozy, the view of the lake was incredible, and Bonnie was a great host!

We had a wonderful weekend here! The house was nice and well-equipped with everything we needed. Had fun floating in the lake and wandering around Bridgton and Norway.

We absolutely loved our stay! Everything about the cabin was exactly what we needed for our extended weekend in Maine for my nephew's wedding. The cabin itself was super roomy and comfortable for the five of us. We were supposed to be seven, and even then it would've been plenty of comfortable, cozy space. We didn't think we'd have much time to hang out at the cabin because of the wedding, but we got to sneak in some beach/lake time on the last day. Alexa is an amazing hostess. From the minute we checked in, she texted to make sure everything was as expected. I had a question about the kayaks, and within moments she replied with an answer. My family and I have been to Bridgton every summer since 2009. This was our first time staying somewhere other than our usual spot. I would totally go back--especially because the cabin is clearly very dog friendly and we have two fur babies. Whether you are looking for a summer by the lake or a winter on the slopes-this place is perfect!

Third visit in three years for a weekend fishing getaway. Great location, beautiful property. Excellent hosts. Looking forward to a return visit.

Stayed with a group of friends for a little friend reunion, and the house was just what we needed. Easy walk to the lake, big functional kitchen, nice backyard. Plenty of linens, spice, condiments, and teas, all the things so often overlooked at airbnbs. Julie’s communication was so thorough and thoughtful. Looking forward to staying again!

Family of 4 enjoyed a long weekend! Lovely separate loft space with 2 bedrooms, bathroom and tv/ couch for the kids inside and plenty for the kids to do outside. Fishing/campfires every night after swimming/ boating all day. JimBobs General store was a favorite for essentials
