I would give 10 stars if possible! The place is just amazing, Paulo and Isabelle created a beautiful paradise with a breathtaking view and everything one needs for an unforgettable holiday. I so enjoyed my stay in this stunning stone house built by the host's direct relatives! I was truly charmed by the soft tinkling of goats' bells in the pasture, the adorable village dog known and loved by all, a private porch, a crackling fire on a chilly night. This village and it's people are really special, experimenting with organic farming and regularly offering multi-generational events. I was even invited to a village party that included impromptu music, singing and dancing. Self-taught musicians played accordians, guitars and ukuleles while their neighbors & relatives danced. If I moved to Portugal (I wish I could!) I would want to vacation here for a month every year. It's a perfect spot for a writer's retreat, quiet reflection or uninterrupted time together as a couple. The kitchen is a fully functional kitchen, with all the pots, pans, implements and appliances you could possibly need to prepare and serve a meal for 10 (even an immersion blender!)

Really enjoyed our time at Gabriel's place. Tried to change our travel plans to stay a little longer in this beautiful area but unfortunately were unable to. Thank you for a wonderful memory of Portugal!

Mrs. D. Fátima (whom we unfortunately did not have the opportunity to meet) and Mr. João was extremely cordial and friendly, both at the reception and in the availability shown for any additional needs. As for the space, it is magnificent, with a privileged location on the junction of the Vouga and Teixeira rivers, totally fenced (which allowed the two dogs that accompanied us to also have the opportunity to run incessantly on the lawn and sniff all the corners of the flowerbeds and other spaces). The barbecue area is a fantastic complement, with plenty of space and equipment to support pleasant barbecues. The surroundings offer breathtaking views of the landscape, as well as the enjoyment (careful but absolutely refreshing) of the countless waterfalls! Quinta do João Pedro is a place to know or, in our case, to repeat, without a doubt!

Stunning apartment. We had a lovely time. Perfect location, very comfortable and clean. I also have to mention it is on a very busy street but you would never know because it is very quiet in the apartment when the balcony doors or closed.

I hesitate writing this review because I want this place to stay a secret… but it’s too good not to share. From the moment we walked in, we felt at home. The space is spotless, stylish, and incredibly cozy—like a boutique hotel and a warm hug had a baby. The bed was so comfortable we missed our alarm (zero regrets). The kitchen was impressively stocked—better than mine at home—and every little detail felt intentional and thoughtful. The host was the perfect balance of helpful and hands-off, responding quickly when needed but letting us enjoy the space fully. The location? Peaceful, private, yet close to everything we wanted to do. It’s the kind of place that makes you rethink your life choices and wonder if you could just live here forever. Please don’t book it—I’m already planning my return and want it available. But seriously… if you’re lucky enough to snag a night here, take it. Just leave my dates open.

There should be a rating of “excellent” as “great” doesn’t do this place and its host justice. Jeff is responsive and proactive. He opened the doors for our family to stay & for us to host a family reunion. The place is indescribable. Have you been to Sintra? You will find the same myst and mystique throughout the property. I was in awe of the lights illuminating the way to the most stunning property surrounded by a creek. You’re immersed in a conclave of the 🇵🇹 history. The house if carefully renovated and it had all amenities you could ask for (and more). Everything was indeed curated to supply the most incredible experience. It was mesmerising. 10/10 loved our stay here. The space was beautiful - high ceilings and lots of windows filled the place with natural light. The kitchen was well stocked and the weights in the bonus room were a nice surprise. It was quiet at night and the location made it easy to explore the city. Everything was within a 10 to 15 minute walk. We stayed with our one-year-old and they provided a high chair, hooded towel, and crib for an additional charge.
