Holiday rentals with a fire pit in Shenandoah River

We enjoyed staying at Alex’s place. The home is peaceful and within walking distance to the National Park and restaurants. Book this place if you are visiting Harpers Ferry. Alex is amazing and a wonderful host!

My husband and I spent our first night away after our kiddo was born and it was wonderful! Being able to relax with no agenda (or nap schedules) in such a beautiful place was amazing. The school house was so nice and we loved all of the little school house decor throughout the place. Everything was clean and pristine! The hot tub was a wonderful way to unwind! We spent less than 24 hours here but it was worth it. Hope to be back again! Thank you for letting us stay!

This place is AMAZING! So many fun things to do! The hot tub in the cave was mind blowing, we loved it! Our 6yr old enjoyed feeding and petting the bunnies and chickens! Fishing was so much fun! Ken was an amazing host and responded very quickly! !!5 STARS!! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Such a beautiful retreat - close to downtown Berkeley Springs but just far enough away to feel completely secluded. the view from every room and balcony was gorgeous. The house has nearly everything you need right there - we especially appreciated the kitchen having seasonings & all of the pots/pans/dishes you need to cook. Our goal was having a few days to rest and spend time with each other, and that's exactly what we were able to do. The game room was a real treat, and the bowl of conversation starters in the living room was such a fun way to hang out without just having the TV on.

The perfect getaway for our time adventuring in the wild and wonderful. The home was PERFECT. The amenities were top notch, spic and span, and thoughtfully arranged. We had an amazing time and we highly recommend this home to anyone who needs a peaceful and fun getaway. Thank you, Jennifer et al!

This house was absolutely perfect and if you are coming for the Civil War history, this is the place to stay! Not enough focus is on just how close this house is in relation to the Antietam Battlefield and the walking trails. The house was absolutely spotless and well laid out. The hot tub was a perfect way to rest and recover from our miles of hikes. Captain Benders Tavern is only about 3 minutes away in town and has a nice menu and food was delicious! And Harpers Ferry is only about a 25 minute drive. Just a word of advice, if you are planning on hiking, bring tick spray and as soon as you get back to the house, put your clothes in the dryer on high for 10 or 20 minutes and do a good body check. We brought SEVERAL ticks home with us... Yuck!

The cabin is very comfy and a delightful place to stay! We particularly loved the beautiful sun room, which is the perfect place to lounge and relax while enjoying the quiet of the surrounding woods. The kitchen had everything we needed to make all of our meals for the weekend and the beds were very comfortable. Michael did a great job responding to any messages we had for him. Loved our stay in their cabin!

The peaceful river retreat is aptly named - it was truly a peaceful getaway in a beautiful riverfront location. The screened porch overlooking the river was a favorite hangout spot during our stay. We used the kayaks to explore a bit on the water and enjoyed the games and puzzles while it was raining out. Recommend to anyone who enjoys getting outside the city for some quiet time in nature.

This is a great place to stay and tour the DC Metro area - provided you have a car. Most days it would take us 30 minutes to get to and from DC though if we hit rush-hour, it was as long as an hour. The space is tidy and great. My kids love the pool, though it was a little cold for me-they swam there every night. Jennifer is great to communicate if you have any needs she gets stuff done right away. Note that there is only one bathroom, which can be a pain if you have a full house of six people. The washer and dryer are small so it will take you longer if you’re used to a full size. She had all the cooking methods and appliances available. The theater room has Netflix and Amazon prime ready for you to watch a show. There is even a popcorn maker. We did not use the gym, but it was nice - comparable to a small hotel gym. Property is in the owner’s basement, so there is some sound from upstairs as identified in the listing. Host stays out of your way but is there if you need anything.

We had an excellent stay on our journey along the C&O canal. The owners were very responsive and accommodating to our larger group. Everything was pristinely clean and the bathroom/shower was luxurious. Very happy with our stay and big thanks to the homeowners!

Mark was a great host and I enjoyed my short respite at his location. Everything felt clean and new and was designed with thought and care. The outward facing garden was lovely to look at in the morning and while heading to bed. Thank you so much Mark for such a comfortable stay.

Great stay! It was an awesome location and there was lots to do within walking distance. Also appreciated the food that was present for us on arrival. There was a small but very nice backyard where we were able to make a fire one night. Host was very informative and responsive. Would definitely stay again.

Excellent host. Very clean place, beautiful property. Laura was amazing. It was like staying with a good friend. We bought some of her eggs and delicious honey. We would definitely stay there again. My wife and I and our fur babies will miss Laura, Jerald, and Dasher.

My husband and I love staying here and come once to twice a year. Butch and Lynn are very responsive and the nest is cozy and clean. We always look forward to our stay!

Highly recommend Ann’s place! We traveled with our toddler, and it was perfect for him. They supplied a pack and play and tons of board books. My only thing to note is that the walkway to the space is not paved so be aware with small children and suitcases.

Absolutely charming place to stay for our weekend visit to Winchester! Host was friendly, location was convenient to old town and to highway. Unit was super cute and wonderfully decorated. Had everything we needed and was a good place to stay with our pup. Would definitely recommend!

We enjoyed our visit to WV. Su’s cabin was the perfect location and allowed us to witness some beautiful sunsets, nightly. The cabin was all Su’s described, quite comfortable for 2 people. Su provided recommendations for restaurants and activities. We went to two of the restaurants, both were delicious. If we’re back in the area, we’d stay at Su’s again.

We had a fantastic stay at the Eagle’s Nest in Cacapon, West Virginia! The house was perfect for a relaxing getaway — the wooded lot and peaceful views made it feel like a true retreat. We especially enjoyed the fire pit in the evenings and the basement game room, which was a hit with our group — the pool table and other games kept everyone entertained. The amenities were excellent, the beds were super comfortable, and everything was clean and well-stocked. We felt right at home. Five stars all around — highly recommended, and we’d love to come back again!

River House – 5 Stars My husband and I stayed in the River House for 4 days. We totally enjoyed ourselves there. It was exactly what we were looking for, peace and quiet while gazing upon nature at its best. The house is very clean, neat and crisp with a touch of warmth everywhere. It has everything you could want for your stay, making it home-sweet-home. The house is nestled between trees and situated right on the bank of the Shenandoah’s running river. Enjoy the lush green forest across the river while drinking your morning coffee in the sunroom. You’ll see that this serene setting brings a daily refuge of birds nesting and hummingbirds feeding to the top deck. The sunroom is so cozy and inviting. It seems as if the house is on stilts sitting over the running river. The River House has two large decks, a patio and boats for your family’s enjoyment. My husband and I had a wonderful stay this past weekend! If I could give more stars I would and I’ll be definitely bringing my children with us next time. Everything that we needed was easily accessible and clearly labeled so we had no issues during our stay. The property was stunning and I loved reading about Jesus while looking around such a great touch. I hope God continues to bless them and provide in all the ways they need. Thank you for the wonderful stay 😊

We loved our 1 night stay! The lake was gorgeous, the lodge was cozy, and the bed was comfy. We played cards in front of the fireplace in the evening time, beautiful fireplace! Got pizza at Tony’s and brought it back for dinner. We can also recommend the Thai restaurant called “Little Peppers” that’s in town. We caught 30 fish in 2.5 hours with a rooster tail lure. Bass, bluegill, and crappie. Biggest one we caught was over a 12” long. Fished between 4:30-6:30pm and then the following morning between 8:30-9:30am. Fish were biting like crazy at all times! We fished from the dock and also from different spots on shore as we walked to all the accessible spots of the lake. Outside showers were awesome! Other wildlife we spotted were: 15 Canadian Geese hanging out on the pond, 3 heron (2 blue/1 white), 2 deer, and a groundhog! The deck, outside seating, and planted foliage and flowers were so beautiful. The view is incredible. The host is super sweet and so helpful ❤️
