Absolutely perfect stay! The house was cozy, clean, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The hot tub was the highlight—so peaceful and private, surrounded by nature. We loved unwinding there after a day of exploring. Communication with the host was super easy, and check-in was a breeze. If you’re looking for a quiet escape with a touch of luxury, this is the spot. Already dreaming of our next trip back!

The house was amazing as well as the surrounding area. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking in the luray area. Close to everything luray has to offer . The house was spotless and fully stocked with everything we needed for our stay. we will most definitely be back

This house is a gem! The location allows for privacy and great hikes while still being close enough to Luray and Sperryville for restaurants and activities. I’d absolutely return. The house was clean and as advertised. The hosts were very responsive! The creek on the property was such a lovely feature. The only note I’d like to make is the area must have had a lot of rain right before our visit. To access the house, you drive over a very small concrete bridge over the creek. When we arrived the water was over the bridge, and probably 5 or so inches at its deepest. We had a sedan and weren’t comfortable driving over. Jerry quickly gave us alternate directions, so all in all in worked out and provided some excitement :). But if there’s been a lot of rain and you have a low car, be aware!

Thank you so much to Darrel! We absolutely loved our stay here and would 100% come back. Everything was perfect and we enjoyed our time immensely. The river is beautiful and the location is so quiet and private. We were able to see the bald eagle and catch fish, etc. Highly recommend if you want a weekend in nature and just time to relax and unwind!

This was our third visit and we have loved being there every time. We travel from Florida to Pennsylvania in the spring and fall and this is the only place we stay two overnights because it’s such a lovely place to be. Chris is as nice and welcoming as anyone could possibly be. Everything you need is there. The pool and hot tub are amazing. The gardens and bird life are like nowhere else. The Graves Mill Trail, about 25 minutes away is a beautiful place to hike. And Chris introduced us last year to old house Vineyards where you can have amazing brick oven pizza on Mondays. We will return again and again!

We had an amazing girls' weekend! The house was cozy, spotless and perfect for our group. Dolly & Brendan were super responsive and gave us terrific recommendations for local restaurants and wineries - everything we tried was a hit. We loved being able to sit outside and unwind by the firepit. Would definitely stay here again!

we loved the forethought they had for the needs of their guests. and a lot of times it was the 'little things' that had the greatest impact...the 'unnecessary' touches which made things so comfortable (ample hooks/cubbies/drawers, hot tub towels, plug-in nightlight/flashlights in every room, binoculars, great games, and more!). probably the best part of the experience was knowing they trusted & respected you as guests. there was almost a case of toilet paper & paper towels in the pantry, a full bottle of laundry detergent, tub of dishwasher pods, full pack of sponges, full bottles (NOT attached to a wall!) of shampoo/conditioner/body wash, etc. - and they weren't afraid you were going to take it all home w you! there was NO angst. just a wonderful experience. our final favorite part is that we were able to purchase the great "mountain mama" coffee mugs we enjoyed using during our stay. a great souvenir to have for such a memorable trip...

Amazing, immaculate property, peaceful setting, thoughtful hosts! The mountain cottage exceeded our expectations. The home looks exactly like the photos and has all of the amenities. No surprises, no builders grade junky stuff - granite countertops, new appliances, upgraded cabinetry with soft close drawers, large tiled shower with built in bench seat, lighted closets, working blinds, no step access into and through out the home. You walk in to find a welcome basket of water and snacks with a card from hosts. There are books for appliances if needed and a book that provides needed information and options for dining and recreation. Feels private! We had beautiful bird song in the mornings, saw a deer at the end of the driveway and many deer on the roads to the cottage. There is a fishing pond within a half mile and the North fork of the Shenandoah is close by. We enjoyed the peace, nature, cruising Skyline Drive and time with our family. Great house in a fantastic location! Kids enjoyed the rope swing and book selection at the house. We loved the beautiful setting but still being close to all the wineries/breweries and restaurants that we love.

Cozy, adorable little cottage close to downtown! It has everything you need for a short or long stay, and plenty of room for a doggo. Amazing shower and cozy bed! Only ‘complaint,’ which is not even one, is that it got chilly inside at night and the heater was a bit difficult to use to raise the heat. Overall a wonderful weekend stay!

We loved our stay at the willow tree! The place was extremely well stocked and the bed was so comfortable. Everything was clean and Susan thought of every detail to make the stay comfortable! It definitely felt like she thought very hard about any items a guest would need and provided them. We will definitely come back if we are in the area again!

What a great place for our family to stay during W&L Graduation week! The location is beautiful and just a few minutes from downtown Lexington! We loved being right next to the tasting room to just walk over and grab a few of bottles of wine! I loved that my dogs were able to be a part of our mini-vacay. The gated back area was so convenient and perfect for our pups. I would recommend getting there during the daylight. The gravel road to the guest house is dark. Overall an amazing stay!

Nestled amongst the rolling hills of Virginia farmland and wineries, Merry View Cottage is a gem offering bucolic vistas from both inside the home and the front porch. Julie’s hideaway was thoughtfully appointed and well-stocked with numerous amenities. Snacks, water, kitchen basics (even a picnic basket!), barbecue and fire pit supplies (complete with s’more fixings) made this home a sweet refuge after touring historical sites in Charlottesville and nearby. The house was clean, nicely decorated (as pictured), with comfortable bedding with an ample supply of fresh linens. Though we didn’t have the pleasure of meeting our hosts in person, they were responsive to all of our questions and made excellent recommendations regarding nearby markets, restaurants, and trails. Julie and her husband are wonderful hosts and our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer!

Corinne's place is a beautiful cabin in the woods. It is way back in the woods, but her instructions were clear. Probably best to arrive for the first time in the light. Overall, a great place to stay in the high demand Charlottesville area. Thanks!

We absolutely loved our stay at the cozy cottage! Upon arrival, we were greeted with a sweet personal note that made us feel right at home. The location is stunning, and we wish we could have explored the trails, but the weather and our other commitments kept us busy. We can’t wait to come back and enjoy everything this beautiful place has to offer!

This is our second time staying at Tranquil cottage. It's a beautiful, clean, and comfortable place to stay close to Charlottesville and feels like home. We love the peaceful atmosphere and all the animal friends. And Cynthia is a great host. We'll definitely be back again.

Even though we had a short stay at Soper House we loved being in the country with the surrounding beauty. I look forward to going back some time!! I would highly recommend staying there. It was comfy and cozy! We appreciated things like coffee and filters, that I usually bring to an Airbnb… but I forgot this time. Easy check in and check out. Ann was super to work with. This historic 1840 cottage is a well appointed rustic cape cod house perfect for an outdoorsman, a homey country get away for a family or a couples retreat. It is situated in the woods and walking distance to the C&O canal towpath. You are also centrally located to many historic parks, hiking, attractions, activities and small towns. The owner, Rorke, was very responsive and helpful. The home is warming and inviting with lots of amenities (see the listing) so you don’t need to bring or buy any of the usual items. We thoroughly enjoyed our short time there and the ability to explore from Hagerstown to Charles town and most especially all the small towns in between like Shepherdstown, Crystal Grottos, and Boonsboro where we found the carnival and enjoyed a country band.

Brenda was such a helpful and generous hostess. The fact that she opens up her alpaca farm for not only you to stay but also for you to share the fun of hanging out with the alpacas, dogs, and kitties was just the best. The house was great, the location stunning, and it was a great proximity to WV and some of the very iconic hikes around the Roanoke area. We are really going to miss the place!
