Staying at Michael's lake house was the perfect retreat for our family. The first thing that stood out: The quiet. The house is on a cove just off the main lake, and it's so peaceful. We started our mornings with coffee on the screened in porch (yay no mosquitoes to worry about with kids!) and then spent the days kayaking, paddleboarding, and lying in the hammock. The lake itself is gorgeous and there's a sandbar that our girls loved! Meals were a breeze. The kitchen had everything we needed and was a lovely space to cook in (not to mention clean!). We grilled a couple of times too, which, for us, is a vacation must. It rained a little bit while we were there, but the house was well stocked with board games and honestly, everything was so beautifully decorated, it was just as relaxing indoors as outside. We'd totally come back here again. Thanks for a wonderful stay! Joel

We had a great weekend in Alton at Liz’s place. Liz was super responsive in the weeks leading up to our trip - and the house exceeded our expectations. Definitely the highlight of our summer.

The house itself was beautifully decorated with thoughtful touches throughout, making it feel cozy and welcoming. It was also very well stocked with everything we needed, which made our stay even more comfortable. A big thank you to our host for her warm hospitality and attention to detail. We truly appreciated the care she put into making our visit so enjoyable. Highly recommend, and we’d love to return in the future!

We had a fantastic week-long stay at Heidi's home. She was an exemplary host from the beginning to the very end -- always responsive, flexible, and very helpful. She knew we were going to be arriving at nighttime, and that there would be construction going on nearby with exit closures. She took time to provide detailed instructions on how to get around those closures which alternated between two exists every night from 7pm-7am. This is their real home, so when you enter, you feel like you have entered your home away from home. Everything in the house is not just clean, but spotless. The beds were comfortable and the surroundings are just gorgeous -- especially the sunroom, which is like something out of a dream. We even saw some wild turkeys at a distance in the backyard! Of all the Airbnbs we have stayed at, this was by far the nicest and the most memorable. Thanks so much, Heidi and Dennis.

We had a great extended long weekend stay at Karen’s!! The place was warm & inviting- perfect for a colder than anticipated Memorial Day Weekend — we took advantage of the pellet stove and were still able to take in awesome lake views from the comfort of the living room. Our young girls had a blast “swimming” in the large jacuzzi bath tub and playing/ sleeping on the bunk beds in one of the bedrooms. We did manage to get out on our boat which was easy to dock at the slip associated with the rental. No fish caught this time around but still fun trying. The location of Karen’s place is awesome- very close/ walking distance to tasty restaurants & public boat launch. We cooked most of our own meals & were grateful for the well stocked kitchen as well as having a grocery store less than 5 min away. Karen was a fantastic host with quick response times from time of booking & then following checkout ensuring that our stay was as seamless as possible. We hope to return in the future! 😊

The house is beautiful and the views are just breathtaking. From inside the house, you get a beautiful view of the lake and then the porch is amazing. You can kayak, use the paddle board or use the canoe. You can also sit by the lake and enjoy the campfire. The surroundings are very beautiful and peaceful. The host is very responsive, solved all our doubts and was flexible with us during check-in and check-out, which we appreciated very much. At check-in, we were greeted by a great bottle of wine and chocolates, which was a great touch. The house also has a ping pong table, books to read and board games. The kitchen was well stocked with the basics. We had an amazing stay, we highly recommend this property :)

My family and I had a serene experience staying here. Although the weather was mostly rainy or cloudy, we loved the lake location and maximized the indoor, outdoor, and nearby activity options. The hosts were so responsive, regardless of the question, and made this a truly delightful visit. This was my parents’ first Airbnb experience and it set the bar higher than I could have imagined! My family and I are already talking about coming back!!

Nice place, clean, comfy bed, very well stocked, had everything i needed for a month. I work from home, over the internet. My only recommendation to Alan and Martha is to fix the wifi which went down multiple times per day and disconnect me from my job and conference calls. The first 3 or so times it happened, i called & texted the 2 phone numbers that Alan provided (in a note on the fridge). I also left a voice mail and knocked on their front door. but i never heard back about my text or voicemail. Eventually I unplugged are re-plugged the antenna/router which fixed the issue most times. Sometimes you have to do it 2 or 3 times, but eventually it does work.

I’ve rented several places, and this was by far the best experience I’ve had. The home was immaculate and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed—and more! The kitchen had all the essentials, plus extras like spices, condiments, and even butter, which we needed. The bathroom was equipped with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, making our stay even more comfortable. The mattress was high quality and very comfortable, and having access to a washer and dryer was a huge bonus. Everything was perfect—highly recommend!

Certainly not a glamorous neighborhood, but quiet and walking distance to some great restaurants (Stages at One Washington was better than every Michelin 3 Star I’ve been to). Very homey apartment with great amenities (particularly appreciated the Apple TV, WiFi and Keurig pods), and Joshua was a really proactive and thoughtful host. Really great!

Great place right on the water!

This was an absolute beautiful stay. The views of the lake with the fall foliage was breathtaking. The home had everything we needed and was perfectly clean. Would definitely come again.

Four adults spent a week in Alton Bay. The deck gets morning sun which was wonderful before the heat of the day settled in. We loved the walk ability of the Bay. Great breakfast next door. Two sit down restaurants and one walk up restaurant within a quarter mile. Grocery store about 10 minutes away. Beautiful Lakeside public park and swimming area right next door. The condo is very spacious and well decorated. The hosts responded immediately to a few missing items. If you are looking for a small town, lakeside, summer vacation. We would recommend Breakaway.
