Rent an entire Edo-period storehouse. Relax in a rural hideaway.

The operator of the guest house has changed as of August 2026.Please note that the services, house rules, etc. are slightly different for repeat guests. We renovated a two-story storehouse built in the Edo period and turned it into a guest house. It's not very large, but it retains the atmosphere of a traditional earthen-walled storehouse, with thick beams and more. There's a kitchen on the first floor with an IH cooking heater.Fully air-conditioned on the 1st and 2nd floors for a comfortable stay.You can experience the sound insulation, the coolness of the summer, and the warmth of winter. There is a sauna facility about 5 minutes away by car, Anekawa Onsen about 15 minutes away, and Kita-Omi-no-Yu about 20 minutes away. There are many sightseeing spots unique to Nagahama, which are often the setting of history. In addition to the area around Lake Biwa, Japan's oldest railway station building, Nagahama Railway Square, Yanmar Museum where children can play, Kurobai Square, and other activities other than history. You can also enjoy gourmet dishes such as Omi beef, duck cuisine, grilled mackerel with somen noodles, udon noodles with tofu, and salads with bread, duck, and small ayu fish.

Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream.
