Great area with nature and bird/wildlife, short distance to fishing in lake or salmon river, berry marsh, hunting, ski terrain scooter ride in winter. It is close to the maritime museum and historical areas.

There is little light pollution in the area, so there are good opportunities to see the northern lights. Tana is a good starting point for visiting idyllic places nearby, such as Bugøynes, Torhop, Ekkerøy and Vadsø. You can also walk down to the sandbanks along the Tana River.
