This is a wonderful property to fully experience the George Town historic centre. Not only is it a transitional house from the olden days, the host took great care to decorate it with period pieces, including the cabinet of fine traditional China, paintings on the walls, etc. It really felt like being transported back in time. The location was also fantastic, walkable to all the popular spots and many great restaurants and eateries. Ke was a fantastic host, who was super responsive and accommodating. Our flight landed earlier and she allowed us to leave our luggage at the reception area before our check-in time. Ke also provided lots of recommendations, including advice for activities as I was travelling with my elderly parents. Would definitely recommend this property for anyone looking for an authentic experience.

We had a great experience staying at Winnie’s place. The location is fantastic right in the heart of the city with easy access to restaurants and tourist spots. It’s a perfect place for families looking for a peaceful yet central stay. The room, although compact, was clean, cozy, and felt like a small Japanese-style home — very charming and well-maintained. Winnie was a kind and helpful host; she even provided drinking water and made sure we were comfortable throughout. The only minor challenges were the stairs — since the place is on the 3rd floor and there’s no elevator, carrying heavy luggage can be a bit tiring — and there was a temporary water issue one day, but Winnie resolved it quickly and efficiently. Overall, a pleasant stay with warm hospitality. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a comfortable and conveniently located place to stay!

Excellent in every way. Where do I start… the location cannot be beat. Armenian street is THE George Town street to see, and it’s walking distance to many amazing restaurants, hawkers centers, boutique shops, street artworks, and other attractions like the esplanade and large shopping malls. The home itself has a very peaceful feel, oozing with oldtown charm, tastefully furnished, and very spacious. The beds are comfortable, the aircon is excellent, the hot/cold filtered water machine is super convenient, and the washer/dryer works well. Things to note: The bathroom ceiling is quite low- if you’re over 5’10” you’ll be stooped over, but they provide a shower seat. There is an atrium in the middle of the home that is open to the floor below and the shop on the ground floor. This is no issue, but something to be aware of if you have toddlers like us that are, at times, difficult to keep calm and quiet.

Great location. Host was attentive we had an issue with the stove and toaster and he took care of it replaced the toaster and gave us an electric wok to heat our food. Enjoyed our stay will be back, liked the location and close proximity to shops and restaurants. Malaysians are very friendly and hospitable.

Karyen is an outstanding host, and her place is in an unbeatable location! Our favorite coffee shop, Be Angles, and Powehouse Fitness gym are in the complex, along with the supermarket, the best chicken rice shop, and many other stores. Additionally, the beach and numerous hawker centers are within walking distance, offering a variety of dining and leisure options. The apartment itself was spotless, comfortable, and well-equipped, making our stay exceptionally pleasant. Karyen's attentive hospitality and the prime location made this the best place we've ever stayed. Highly recommend! Thank you for having us!

We enjoyed our stay at Straitsquay. The Suite was clean and the bed very comfortable. We went swimming every day in one of the 3 Pools in the Complex. The Supermarket is very near and lots of international restaurants downstairs. Our Host - Johnson was very reliable, helpful and kind.

Overall experience was amazing. Would definitely recommend this place to everyone.

We stayed at this property for approximately two weeks and had an overall very positive experience. There was a brief Wi‑Fi issue early in our stay, but the host responded calmly and resolved it promptly, which we truly appreciated. The unit was clean, well‑maintained, and accurately reflected in the listing. Communication with the host was seamless, and they were attentive throughout our stay. The location was a strategic advantage – just a short drive away from Batu Ferringhi’s beaches and George Town’s vibrant cultural districts. Overall, it was a comfortable, convenient, and well‑priced choice. We would certainly recommend it.

I had four weeks at Daniel and Grace's place. It was so beautiful looking out at the water and the location for groceries, food etc was spot on. The hosts are both very proactive and very friendly. The bed was super comfy (and I'm a bad sleeper), so I found that really good. I was often the only one in the pool, and it was so refreshing as I found the heat hard to handle. Would stay again if visiting Penang in future.

We had a fantastic stay - after a long day of travelling it was a delight to enter into this beautiful home. The views are incredible (we caught an early sunrise) and the thoughtful touches such as the local snacks were really appreciated. Very easy to get a Grab into different areas of Georgetown.

Nice place, great view. Lots good food nearby, and a few little night markets with good food (one by the nearby Lotus). A bit far from Georgetown but a 20min Grab will get you there. If you want to stay a little out of the hustle and bustle this is a great choice. Also low traffic and open areas to run (good place to prep for Penang Bridge Marathon) if that's something you are looking for.

Nice booking and indoor amenities (like living room entertainment, cutlery, plates etc.) for a larger group, has a nice view of the ocean and interesting shopping areas/grocer nearby for convenience. The host was responsive and attentive to questions we had during check-in and the stay. We enjoyed the stay 🌷
