The cottage has all the charms of the original seaside bach but its fit-out is perfect for long summer days and nights and in the colder months as a warm and cosy retreat.

Reef Break Studio

A detached sleep-out across the road from the beach at Te Awanga, fully equipped for a comfortable stay. A spacious studio with a queen-sized bed, sofa bed (for two children or one adult), dining table, flatscreen TV, wifi, and continental breakfast. A cot is available. The kitchen contains a microwave, bench-top oven, cooking elements and a fridge. The bathroom has a decent-sized shower with good water pressure and gas-heated hot water. Only 15-20 minutes drive to Napier or Hastings.

Apartment set amongst Apple Orchard + E Bike Hire

" ‘Hamnavoe’ is our name for the apartment and is in Haumoana, 800 metres from the coast, 10 minutes from Hastings, 15 Minutes to Napier. This two bedroom apartment has two large 20 square metre bedrooms upstairs. Views over an apple orchard planted in Rockit Apples. New bathroom with shower, hand basin and toilet. Use of the house pool 25 metres away. Close to the bike trails and coast. Wineries within biking distance." We have two E- bikes. Hire is $75.00 a day and $40.00 a half day.

The Pavilion

So close to the village, yet set in the countryside there are lambs in Spring and apple trees next door. Eggs are laid by our own chooks, bread, muesli and preserves are homemade. We'll suggest places to visit and restaurants if you want to dine out. Cool off in the pool in summer or take an expertly led yoga class! Take a trip to Hastings or Napier or walk the miles of tracks in Te Mata Park. Ocean Beach is just 15 minutes away and the Sunday Farmers Market just 10!

Our place is a unique architectural designed passive solar, straw bale home with recycled native wood and natural clay finish. Enjoy the warmth, peaceful feel and views of the beautiful Maraetotara valley. The 30 sqm studio is located within the main house, has a separate entrance, private deck and parking with EV charger. Cheesemakers Retreat is set within the garden of the hosts home. Guests have their own private area screened from the rest of the property. Studio is self contained. Te Awanga Beach is accessible via a landscaped pathway down the side of our own house (about 30metres). The shingle beach is nicer at low tide. We are small dog friendly. (Charge applies)
