It was a beautiful house with excellent facilities and well-thought out and lovely personal touches. The place was spotless and beds were extremely comfortable (I like a firm but not too hard bed) and was an excellent base from which to explore the King Valley wineries over 3 days and conveniently located across from the Whitfield pub. Michelle was a very responsive and kind host! Would definitely love to stay again!

Burrowes Rest is a clean, comfortable and cosy getaway nestled in farmland close to the King River. Darlene has thought of everything to make your stay extra special. We enjoyed settling down with a book or two next to the wood fire as the temperature outside plummeted before retiring to the comfy bed. It may be worth noting that the shower is above the claw toothed bath and maybe a tad difficult for someone with mobility issues to safely get in and out. We would recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.

We had a wonderful peaceful stay at Peta and Dieter’s place. It was very private, beautifully warm and we had everything we needed. The animals, cows, dogs, chickens and peacock added to the lovely atmosphere of being in the country. The mountain views were spectacular and we were so thankful for the generosity of the hosts of suppling us with wood so we could stay really nice and cosy. Thank you.

The property is nestled in stunning Australian bushland, surrounded by incredible wildlife—we saw wombats, kangaroos, and even heard kookaburras singing their iconic laughter-like calls at foggy sunrise and sunset. It added such a magical touch to the experience! The neighboring property has a deer farm, offering a beautiful and unexpected view of deer grazing peacefully—something truly special to wake up to. The house was spotless and beautifully decorated, with thoughtful artistic details like handcrafted baskets that gave it a warm, inviting feel. Rod, the host, was exceptionally kind—he even lit the fireplace an hour before our arrival, so we walked into a cozy, toasty home. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature and comfort!
