My favourite time here is summer for amazing walks/cycling up mountains to enjoy majestic views. Misty Mountain Hut supports local staff by paying $40/hr for cleaning.

One double room and one room with 2 singles (that can push together), plus a couch bed in the living room and a travel cot. From mid-May to Oct book 'Shannon Cottage (winter)' instead.

All bedrooms are off the main living area which encourages plenty of family time. 20 meter walk to shuttle pick up in National Park. The famous Tongariro Crossing, Ring of Fire (March 2020), 42 Traverse are some of the regions major events. National Park has access to awesome mountain bike tracks and some of the most beautiful scenic walking treks in New Zealand. Cafes and pubs all within 5mins walk.
