Medieval Fort, Sud Ardèche stunning loft with pool

Formally a fortified castle “Fort de La Bastide “ was constructed on the site of a Roman military station. The earliest historical mention is 1417 and it's long history includes an invasion in 1584 by Protestants during the period of the Huguenot wars. The fort has maintained many original features including the old stone staircase at the front door leading up to a 4 bedroomed loft apartment . There is full access to the large garden including an 10mx4m in-ground heated swimming pool .

It has all the little things to feel at home while respecting ecological values

Fully equipped integrated kitchen (ceramic hob, fridge with freezer, electric oven, etc.). A bedroom equipped with a 160 x 200 bed + baby cot (baby kit). Living room area with sofa bed 140 x 190. Small cozy cottage on the ground floor of our main house, with separate entrance, small private garden and pond where our Asian fish swim peacefully. This 22 m2 studio consists of a bay window giving access to the kitchen with everything you need, a bathroom with toilet, shower and sink, as well as a bedroom/living room area. Ideally located to discover all the tourist attractions of Ardèche. As residents on site, we like to welcome our guests ourselves.

In a beautiful setting in the forest, this small 20 m² studio is located a few minutes from Aubenas, its market and its very good restaurants. You can discover many classified villages, such as Vallon Pont d'Arc, famous for its "arc bridge" and its very recent reconstruction of the Chauvet Cave. Unlimited access to canoeing, kayaking, swimming, climbing and hiking. You have a small shaded terrace, a small piece of garden and a parking space.

The accommodation is quiet, in a hamlet. The village of Labeaume and the river are accessible by car in 5 minutes. The Chauvet Cave is about 18 km from the house. Many activities are available in the region for outdoor and/or thrill-seeking enthusiasts: hiking, canoeing in the Gorges de l'Ardèche or Chassezac, mountain biking, road biking, caving, canyoning, climbing, tree climbing,... You can also enjoy many markets in the area.
