The host was the most attentive we have ever had, we appreciate the thoughtful gestures that made us feel welcome. We had to leave early for a family emergency and they were very supportive. We will definitely come back!

If you’re looking for a beautiful, relaxing getaway then this is the place! The cottage itself was so welcoming and cozy. But being surrounded by nature made it even better. It’s exactly what we needed! We made so many memories in such a short amount of time! The hot tub was amazing to relax in! The beds were super comfortable for us! Everything was just perfect! When we come back down I definitely want to come back here! 😊

We had family coming in from out of town and no room at our place, so we put them up in Velvet's beautiful manor. Check in was so easy, and everything was clean and beautiful! The location is incredibly convenient, just off the main road and just a few minutes from the Dollar General and also from Lake Alma. We will definitely be back!

What a great place to stay! Well appointed, private, quiet. House was pristine on arrival. This place feels like it is worth the money! Dean is very responsive, helpful, and provided outstanding communication throughout. We will definitely be back!

Perfect for our needs, as we were attending an event in Wellston, Ohio. Convenient, clean, recently-renovated. Lack of a TV might be a concern for some, but we didn’t miss it as we were busy doing other things. With a robust Internet connection, you can stream anything needed.

Beautiful property. Lovely farmhouse nestled into peaceful rolling fields. We loved just sitting by the campfire overlooking the pond. Very secluded. From the back yard you can't see any neighbors. very peaceful. easy ride to beautiful Hocking Hill State Park. The hosts were very responsive to any questions/concerns. we had a wonderful family vacation.

We loved the quiet and the secluded street. Nice neighborhood that is truly local. Jackson was a great place to visit. We recommend the Spot on Main St. The house was great. Very well kept and very clean. The TV in the bedroom was not connected and did not connect automatically. We used our phone as a hotspot and that worked fine. Highly recommend this for 1-2 people. May be back to visit family nearby.

This was our third time there. Sharon and Charlie are great hosts! They answer quickly and are very helpful with local recommendations. They keep the firefly spotless as well! We will return again and again!

Spacious enough for one or two people. I usually stay far away from anyone, but being behind their house really wasn't an issue. 20 minutes outside Athens. Check out the nearby rural grocery store, which still has a non-electronic gas pump!

I’m a return guest and have absolutely loved every stay at Water’s Edge. Deni’s place is clean, cozy, and welcoming. Close to hiking at local State Parks and nature preserves, a short drive to local shops and restaurants in Athens, and a lovely, peaceful oasis to enjoy if you want to stay in. Deni is a thoughtful and friendly host who I feel privileged to have met and chatted with on several occasions. I will keep coming back as often as I can. Highly recommend!

I would highly recommend this to anyone! This place was phenomenal and quiet and peaceful. Christine and Matt went beyond what anyone would expect. A lot of extra’s that you would not expect, like smores for the fire out back, snacks and drinks, a cheesecake, tooth paste, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. Extremely clean, extra blankets, pillows, robes, many towels, this place is extra clean, quiet. There is a hot tub, and a fire pit for the relaxing evenings. We will return without hesitation. Thank you Matt and Christine you two are the best, and very appreciated more than you know. Thank you again.

We loved our time here! We enjoyed walking the beautiful property, seeing all of the flowers and gardens Natalie is growing, sitting by the pond and visiting the animals. We look forward to coming back again!

Beautiful and stately old home that has been lovingly restored. Loved the fireplace and the sleigh bed. The tub was very quaint. Gardens were lovely. House was in a very nice neighborhood and it was so nice to be able to walk up town and to the park!

What a wonderful retreat! I stayed by myself as a little momma get away and it was perfect. The Zucchini bread is as good as everyone says! The hot tub was wonderful! The hosts were extremely responsive whenever I needed anything and really helpful! There are even games and toys for kids/toddlers if that is what you’re doing. I of course was vacationing FROM the kids toys lol but I love that if we go back there are things for the kids. Be advised that this is a basement apartment so you’ll hear footsteps and sometimes muffled voices just like you would in any house. It didnt bother me at all! The views are spectacular and the property is just so peaceful. 10/10 would recommend for sure!!

Staying in Jackson Ohio at Jenny’s place was absolutely wonderful!! I could not have asked for a more friendly and helpful host. The apartment is so cozy and pleasant and clean. I will absolutely be going back; at my first opportunity!!! I am traveling for work and I enjoyed the fact that her place was a little bit off the highway just 2 miles but it’s so private and quiet. It really was a very wonderful two weeks very relaxing, and beautiful surroundings. If you want to go into town and go to a restaurant or go and order pizza, it is not far away at all. I absolutely loved it!! Would recommend it to anyone!

This cute little apartment is right in the middle of town and in short walking distance of bars and restaurants. It’s inside an old charming home. The AC worked well. The room comfortably slept 2 in separate beds. The shower worked well. The mini kitchen had what we needed to make coffee and keep our drinks/leftovers cool. If the home had other tenants, you’d never know. We never saw or heard them despite seeing other cars in the driveway. The only challenge we encountered was when we checked in. It was evening and the walk to the door was quite dark. Once inside, and I know this is silly, but we couldn’t easily find the light switches in the rooms. Only minor inconveniences and doesn’t change our experience. It’s just a heads up to others. Lastly, Deb was highly communicative, and we had no issues getting what we needed. I heard other reviews mention issues with outside sound. I use a sound machine and never had an issue with that.

I had an amazing time at this house. It was exactly as described—clean, cozy, and very comfortable. The host was super responsive and made the check-in process easy. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway. Thank you Angela ❤️

The apartment was spacious, very clean, and had extra towels and blankets. Angie gave very clear instructions, was friendly, and super responsive on all communication.

The house is in the middle of Athens, Ohio, a significant college town, and its location in proximity to Ohio U is phenomenal. We've stayed here several times and always felt lucky to have such a well-appointed home that is walkable to most of campus and Court Street. Ashley is an excellent host and the house is clean and updated on both levels.

What a great place - super convenient to Ohio University and Uptown Athens. Five of us stayed comfortably, we enjoyed watching TV in the living room and playing games at the dining room table. We were Uptown in less than 5 minutes. We also loved the use of the garage.

We had an amazing stay at Ashleys! We were here to celebrate a graduation and it was the perfect stay. The place was spacious, clean, and very close to uptown. We will definitely be back, we loved it!

The room was spacious and beautifully decorated, with all the amenities I could possibly need for a comfortable stay. The loft was quit and had a restaurant located on sight. I would definitely recommend and will stay again soon.
