Beachfront holiday rentals in Virginia

I had a brief but very enjoyable stay here. It's an excellent change of scenery without going far away. Ronald was a thoughtful host and good to chat with. He gave me the tour and suggestions about nearby spots to check out. This is definitely not a "quick in, quick out, instant book" kind of place, but chances are if you're looking at boat rentals that's not what you're after anyway, and I will say if you're looking for a peaceful, laid-back setting, it's here. Notes for others who might be considering this spot: 1. Nothing is exactly close by, which is kind of the point. Expect most destinations (grocery, bar, etc) to be 20+ minutes away. 2. If you're tall, watch your head! But you get used to it quickly. All in all, if you're looking for a boat experience, I recommend this one.

We had an amazing time. The house was perfect for us. We really enjoyed the pool and short walk to the beach. We could hear the ocean from the master suite. The upstairs deck had view of the water. Everything about our stay was perfect. The area was nice and was quiet and peaceful. We will definitely go back and stay longer next year. Thank you!!!

Amazing experience. This was the very best Airbnb I have ever stayed. Felt at home. Absolutely above and beyond my dreams Anything and everything you would need from your home, they have. I didn't need to go out and purchase 1 item. The kitchen was completely stocked with all pots, pans, and more. The kindest host. Thank you for the most amazing and 1st Grandkids vacation. Took my adult siblings and parents to Taryn’s property & everyone has already asked “can we go back next year?” The seclusion, water views, and acreage to explore was incredible. We were excited to take our dogs who loved running through the marsh out to the beach. Yes, there’s a lot of flies and ticks due to the marshy area, but we brought plenty of bug spray and checked the dogs each evening for ticks. Definitely recommend catching a sunset on the beach. No frills, no fuss..lots of fun & no-phone-service family bonding time.

We had such a nice visit! Ryan was very responsive to questions and requests. The house is very cute and perfect for a family with kids. Lots of toys and games and outdoor equipment - and a fun tree swing! The little sandy area was just right for our three kids (ages 1, 4 and 7). We ate all our meals outside on the deck overlooking the water. The neighbors were very friendly. Everything was great!

this is a lovely place. The host?, Glenn, was so very helpful and friendly. He lives above the guest house. Everything is very peaceful and pretty. The river and firepit are just across the street. We enjoyed our time Although the river was too high for us to use the kayaks

Our stay was fantastic! The location couldn't be better, just a stone's throw from the beach. The property itself was clean and well-stocked with everything we needed. Mary was prompt and helpful in addressing the one minor issue that came up. We highly recommend this spot for a worry-free beach getaway!

We had a truly wonderful stay at this Airbnb! The house was nice, cozy, and felt like a home away from home, which made it easy to relax from the moment we arrived. The view was absolutely breathtaking—we found ourselves simply gazing out and soaking it all in. A highlight of our trip was the time we spent fishing on the beach; it was peaceful, fun, and made for some unforgettable memories. What made our stay even better was the warm and welcoming family next door. They were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to help us with the few questions we had. It was a small gesture that made a big difference. This place was everything we hoped for and more. We'd absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a serene, comfortable spot to unwind and enjoy nature.

The only issue we had was our code for the building and parking did not work at first! Pam was very quick to resolve! There are no elevators in parking garage, I would take my stuff in at the entrance and then park! Dolphin run staff was not much help! We had a second car that we were supposed to get a parking permit for. They just told us to park and not worry about signs that clearly stated towed with no permit. Our car did NOT get towed!

Great location, the unit was massive. Pools were clean, beach access is easy. The outdoor cooking areas are top notch. Beds could have been more comfortable, but they weren’t terrible.

This house is a gem! It’s our second time staying here and my family loves it! We have two adult daughters, a son-in-law and two granddaughters, we love the pool, pool house with pool table and the screened in porch! All of us have our own levels of bedrooms and bathrooms. The place is clean, has the little touches of home and Lois is a dream to work with. It’s on the pricier side but you get what you pay for! We hope to return next summer! I hate writing such a good review because it will only be harder to book in the future!

Absolutely beautiful stay! The cabin has the cutest theme and the proximity to the water was great and a gorgeous view. Abby and family was so kind, responsive, and great hosts. Would highly recommend this getaway!

We had a lovely stay at Crystal’s while in town for a graduation. Crystal was proactive with directions, recommendations, and instructions, and she responded quickly to questions. The place was nicely decorated, and well-stocked with kitchen gadgets, beach chairs, games, and other necessities. This is a nice place for a getaway.

We really enjoyed our weekend getaway. The house had ample space for our group of 8. The kitchen was well-appointed with all the necessities to cook a good meal. We really enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and hanging out on the big couch in the living room. If it wasn't so cold we would have loved spending time on the large back deck or sitting down by the lake.

The apartment was just as pictured. It was neat and clean upon arrival. The location was great and there was so much to do.

My absolute favorite airbnb ever ! This was the 3rd time I've stayed here, and if I could afford it, I'd go monthly. The location is perfect, right on the water, small private beach, lots of privacy and soooo incredibly relaxing. The house is very well laid out, super clean and comfortable. Keri provides more than most hosts, from the kitchen and bathrooms, to beach gear, movies, books, games, and the kayaks ! I love love love this house and location so very much. It feels like "my" home away from home and I'll continue to go back as much as possible. THANK YOU again Keri, for another amazing getaway !

This place was just amazing. The views of James River, and even the Jamestown settlement across the river (using binoculars) was just mind-blowing! Kevin and Jamie left a wide variety of amenities that were extremely thoughtful and useful, to include hygiene products, charging cords (which was a life saver because for literally the first time ever, I forgot my phone and iPad cords), coffee, and even a margarita kit! The cottage is so cozy, and was very clean. I’m definitely going to book here again.

Oyster Haven was exactly what I hoped for! The home was clean and beautiful. The location is private and peaceful. This was the perfect spot to enjoy the beach, but avoid the crowds. My kids spent hours at the private beach everyday we stayed! The screened in porch was a life saver against the bugs, and my in-laws spent hours bird watching. It was such a peaceful and relaxing location, and the house was fully stocked. Could not be happier!

This was our fourth time staying at this amazing place, and it never disappoints! The pictures really don’t do it justice the home is even more beautiful in person. The backyard is so peaceful and well kept, perfect for relaxing while the kids play. What really makes this place special is the stunning lake view, which you can enjoy right from the living room, kitchen, and bedrooms. It’s the perfect weekend getaway for our family cozy and incredibly relaxing. We always feel right at home here and can’t wait to come back again. Highly recommend!

Eastview is beautiful, the home and the surroundings. There’s plenty of room if you are traveling with a large group.

Henry and Lisa are great hosts. He is good at responding and he writes very detailed responses. The home is large and roomy, with a great view of Claytor Lake and has a private beach with fire pit and dock with a water slide. We happened to be there during a water festival and the nightime boats and fireworks you can watch from the house and yard. We really enjoyed our stay.

Loved this quaint tiny house. It was quiet and scenic and a 15 minute drive to Colonial Beach waterfront and restaurants. Lorie is fabulous host, communicative and friendly. We had a great time!
