Medieval Fort, Sud Ardèche stunning loft with pool

Formally a fortified castle “Fort de La Bastide “ was constructed on the site of a Roman military station. The earliest historical mention is 1417 and it's long history includes an invasion in 1584 by Protestants during the period of the Huguenot wars. The fort has maintained many original features including the old stone staircase at the front door leading up to a 4 bedroomed loft apartment . There is full access to the large garden including an 10mx4m in-ground heated swimming pool .

Many hiking trails and the greenway "Via Ardèche" are accessible from the house. The village is 10 minutes on foot by the path. Between Aubenas and Vallon Pont d'Arc, you will be quiet while being close to many activities and entertainment, shops and local services.The swimming pool is closed out of season.
