Holiday rentals with lake access in Watauga County

Jennifer and David came through for our family in a major pinch. After receiving a call that a cabin we previously booked was inaccessible due to a sink hole, I made a same day reservation for 6 nights with Jennifer and David. I literally sat in a Costco cafeteria and cried tears of relief when they accepted our reservation. They rearranged their cleaning schedule and sent their cleaners over to the cabin immediately so we could check in. We are so appreciative of their responsiveness. The cabin was perfect for our family. We had 10 people and there was plenty of sleeping space for everyone and the 3 bathrooms made it easy for everyone to get ready. The wrap around porch was a nice place to sit and enjoy your coffee and our nights were spent by the fire pit. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely come back to this cabin again!!

We love staying here. It’s a perfect place for families and easy to walk to slope.

The best place to stay! Had a nice time. Cabin very clean, Carol remembered everything. All you had to do was purchase your food. This cabin is definitely the place to stay when visiting Boone!

We love staying at Seven Devils every time we visit Boone and this Cabin was great made us feel right at home. A minute away from a cute little pond to fish and the grill was also a fave. All beds were comfy&couches as soon as you sit you’re just ready to nap. Would definitely recommend staying here !

Steve and Karyn were great hosts! The cabin was spacious, clean, and beds were comfortable. The area is beautiful with plenty to do around town. We really enjoyed our time!

There were 5 of us staying here for a couple nights to go to beech mountain and it was exactly what we needed! Very clean and cozy house 10 minutes from the slopes. Randall was a great host I definitely recommend! *there is a VERY steep driveway so if it’s snowing be aware that you’ll be parking down on the street and walking up the driveway, I’d also recommend 4 wheel drive! But we expected this and it wasn’t too bad as long as you are able to climb up and down. Not very handicap accessible

What a beautiful lake front cabin. Very beautiful and tranquil! The host was super kind and very responsive! We will most certainly look to stay here again! Thanks for the great weekend!

We absolutely loved our stay at Lakeview cabin!!! It was so comfortable and cozy! It was also very private and the location is beautiful with a great view of the lake. It was the perfect size for our party of 10 and had a lot of really nice amenities, we especially loved the hot tub and the firepit area. We will definitely be back!

A great location with almost immediate access to skiing and hiking trails! We didn’t use the amenities while there but did see many families enjoying them. A 15 minute ride to Boone and all that area offers was a plus. This was a quiet, corner location with a soothing view of a pond on the grounds out all of the windows. A good sized space to wind down after a full day of adventures!

The home was clean and really well organized. The layout of the beds and the rooms worked great for the number of people that were listed. Overall Chris was a great host and made our stay for skiing very cozy. We even had snow come in on the day we were checking out and the roads in the facility and the town roads were kept up really well. I’m not guaranteeing that you won’t get stuck in a 2wd vehicle, but the roads were kept up and I felt confident.

We enjoyed our stay! The space was very clean and the location was wonderful. The view from the deck was beautiful. Another plus is that we were able to pull our pontoon on the shore and leave it for the weekend. Kayla was a phenomenal host - very friendly, welcoming, helpful and responsive! Would recommend!

Great place for a visit to Sugar Mountain! I took my son and we had a blast. This place is really close to the mountain and everything g in Banner Elk! The place was very clean and had everything g we needed! I highly recommend!

John is “the” host! We had a great time in his property. The property has everything you need to have a great time. You can fish, swim in the pond, play pool, etc. John takes really good care of you, cannot ask for a better host!

We had a great stay!! Everything was just as described! Perfect distance to sugar and beech for skiing! We hope to be back soon!

Maria’s mountain house was lovely and suited us perfectly for a mountain getaway weekend. She was very responsive and provided clear communication leading up to check in and we were even able to check in a bit early. The space was very homey and extremely peaceful. There is access to a lot of hiking and outdoor spots nearby. The community also has access to tennis and pickleball courts for a small fee. There is a cute coffee truck a short drive away and nice streets for walking the dog!

We had such a great stay! We came up to visit Grayson Highlands and enjoyed the private solace of this home. We really appreciated how clean and well maintained the home was, and how many small creature comforts were considered, including a well stocked kitchen, a fireplace (bring firewood!), and a home set up well to make the most of the beautiful surroundings. The place is very remote, so be sure to stock up on food, coffee, firewood, etc. before you arrive! Aaron was a great host, and went out of his way to fix an issue before our arrival. Oh, and the view from the very top of the driveway is worth the hike, especially when the AM fog is still settled in the valley. :-)

Beautiful house in the woods! The sun room is amazing, especially when it rained and at night (put all the windows up), every bed was very comfortable, well stocked and needed nothing, my kids want to stay here next time, all the amenities at the community area are perfect! Jeremy is very responsive and helpful! Just a perfect, peaceful, fun getaway! Highly recommend!

It's a really charming, comfortable, clean, and quiet place. It has the best kitchen equipment of any place I've stayed: a large set of dish- and glassware, pots and pans, plush towels, comfortable bed. The host communicated well and quickly. I would definitely return.
