Holiday rentals with a kayak in Waterboro

Every year we pick a place on the lake between Mother's and Father's day to celebrate over a weekend. We love to kayak and visit the local eateries while relaxing in nature. This year we were fortunate enough to find Katherine's home in Acton, ME for Memorial Day weekend. The house was spacious, comfortable, clean, and homey (and right on the lake)! Katherine and Nick were both very responsive and friendly with check-in check-out and we loved the places listed on their travel guide. The house is a short hour drive from Kennebunkport and Portland so we took some day trips during the rainy days and floated around the peaceful inlet of Mousam Lake when sunny. Leaving the inlet takes you to the rest of Mousam Lake where we saw motor boats, jet skis and one person wake boarding! Our old dog, Shaggy, had a blast and the long road leading to the property gave him the ability to run around without bothering any neighbors, who were all very friendly! Definitely worth a return visit!

This home was perfect for our family stay for a local wedding. It was a quiet relaxing place on the water! We enjoyed kayaking and sitting on the swing enjoying the view. The home included everything we needed and was very clean, spacious and comfortable. I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking in this area!

Great place to relax. Short walk to Breathtaking views of the lake. Very peaceful & quiet area. The neighbors Craig and Mary were very pleasant and friendly.

Great house with beautiful lake view and comfortable set up. Everything was clean and in good shape. Steve was responsive with communication and provided all the info we needed. I would recommend staying here.

We would definitely go back for another stay. Carl is a wonderful host and was very responsive and helpful. The house is beautiful and is located in such a tranquil and scenic location. We are a family of 6 along with our black lab and everyone fit comfortably. I highly recommend this place for a family get away.

Vacation condo on a cute lake with comfy beds and easy access to town! The host provided lots of great recommendations too. Perfect for shorter stays - long ones might be harder without a dishwasher or washing machine. Kitchen had all the basic amenities. We enjoyed our stay a ton.

Bonnie's home in Limerick was great, exactly what we were looking for. Beautiful home, great location and clean and welcoming. Everything we needed in the kitchen, comfortable bedrooms and a cozy feel that was perfect for spending Christmas in Maine with our family.

We had a great time at Robert’s place. The home has everything you could want, and there are plenty of things to do in the area. It was a great home base for our weekend! The kids loved the game room!

Smokey pines is the perfect getaway. It's private, secluded yet close to the towns and people we want to visit. It feels homey and comfortable and has all the amenities required. We'll definitely be back!

This home at a lake was exactly as described, adorable, and the perfect relaxing getaway. You can't be more "on the water" without getting wet! Looking out over the lake in the morning with a cup of coffee, listening to the loons...awesome! Great location too as there are some great spots to eat nearby, simple drive to Portsmouth in one direction and Concord in the other. Our host was super informative and responsive, and the home was immaculate when we arrived. 10/10 would stay here again and would recommend!

They were accommodating, flexible, and very gracious. They had an entire binder of information with details about where to find fans, towels, flashlights, how to work the shower, heat, grill, and about anything else you can think of. It also had emergency services, restaurants, places to have a good time, and good details about checkout expectations. Overall we were extremely happy with the property and our stay, and were honored by the personalization they did for us specifically as it was our Honeymoon and they wrote us a custom note by hand for when we arrived. Highly Recommended - Will Rent Again!

Lori was a wonderful host for our trip up to Maine. My girlfriend and I enjoyed doing yoga in the entrance room when it rained and a nice sunrise kayak trip out on the lake across the street. My in-laws stayed with us too and we all had great laughs together and enjoyed good food all weekend long.

I had a nice stay at Alexa's. It's beautiful, quiet and ideal to get some rest while being surronded with nature. The best!

We went for our baby moon. The location… ambience… all of it, created a relaxing and nice way to get away from the kiddos and celebrate adding an our third! We’ll come back with the kiddos next time though because the pond, paddleboards, and kayaks are more than worth it!

Loved our time here! It’s about a 40 minute drive from Portland and then 5-10 from Brunswick. The neighborhood is quiet and perfect, exactly what we needed to relax! We loved coming back from Portland and grabbing dinner and gelato in Brunswick, such a nice way to unwind from a long day. Highly recommend and would love to stay here again :)

We had the absolute best time at MJ’s place, highly recommend !! The house is spatious yet very cozy and quiet, with a nice back porch to sit and enjoy the surrounding woods! Home is also very close to town and to Poryland/coastline, and the cleanest lake to swim in that we’ve ever been to! MJ was very helpful and quick to respond. Stay here! We hope to return sometime soon!!

We had such an incredible stay! The first day was pretty rainy, but the house was so relaxing and comfortable that it didn’t matter - we enjoyed staying in and looking at the gorgeous view of the lake while doing jigsaw puzzles near the fire. When things did clear up, we had a great time playing in the yard snd kayaking. I was surprised at how quiet it was, especially during Memorial Day weekend. The beds were super comfy, kitchen was great, shower and tub were wonderful. Lisa left great instructions and checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. And she was very kind in allowing us a late checkout, which was very helpful with three young kids. I can’t wait to visit again!

What an amazing hosts! When i check in they both came and visited and gave me a grand tour of things of the place. Showed where the lake was to kayak, recommended places to eat, and visited. Michael was quick to respond making sure i was doing great. I would totally go back and rent their place again! Thank you so much!

Came for the Fall colors; left in love with the place! Small but delightful. Cluttered in the most fantastical way. Nestled in paradise. Bonnie is so nice and friendly! Pay attention to the fact that the toilet is not attached to house. Short walk to privet and very clean!

We had a wonderful stay at Ricky’s cabin on Bear Pond! It was peaceful, with beautiful views of the water, and we loved having campfires in the evenings. The cabin was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway in the Maine woods! Ricky was a great host—friendly, responsive, and made sure we felt right at home. We would highly recommend staying here!

Stayed here for the second time with our family of five, including two toddlers and a baby. The house/property is the perfect setup for us! Everything is safe for kids and on one floor. There are things like pack-and-plays, kid dinnerware, kid toys/books, and sand toys provided. The sandy beach is close enough that our monitor reached from the baby’s room during nap time. Our oldest calls it “the little house” and has been talking about it since the last time we stayed here a year ago. It is the perfect little getaway! 🙂

Had an amazing stay here, so wondering could go fishing at the dock, the basement was so fun to play pong and just hang out, loved being able to watch disney+, just overall a wonderful stay and amazing and friendly people.

This was the perfect location for my husband and in laws. It was so peaceful. Thank you for a beautiful place to vacation.
