Beachfront holiday rentals in Weligama

My family and I recently spent a few days at Samudra, and it was an unforgettable experience. The villa’s design is both tasteful and functional and looks even better than in the pictures. The beachfront location is exceptional, offering stunning views and direct private access to a clean, uncrowded beach. There was a surfable break right in front of the house, with the spacious and clean infinity pool provided a perfect alternative. The staff also made our stay truly special - Ruwan, Udara, Sunethra and the lovely night time guard have been working there for many years and it really shows. Ruwan (supported by Sunethra) prepared incredible meals to a high restaurant standard and also helped organise everything from surf lessons to in-villa massages. Sunethra was also very caring in looking after our 9 month old when needed. The combination of the villa’s beautiful design, amenities, prime location, and outstanding staff made it a perfect getaway. Look forward to returning soon!

Wonderful stay with proximity to the super Unawatuna and Galle, by far the best location in the Southern Province. Right on the beach with friendly sea turtles happy to be fed seaweed. The grounds (complete with the occasional monkey, and resident iguana and Indian palm squirrels) and pool are fabulous. The house I would describe as rustic. Outdoor bathrooms were fun and quite liberating once you got used to local wildlife. What really made our stay special was the team. Ranjith who could not do enough for us, Layanl whose cooking was unsurpassed by local restaurants, I didn’t lift a finger for 12 days. We used the same tuk tuk drivers to take us out and about (recommended by Ranjith). Spots I would highly recommend in nearby Unawatuna: The Red Snapper, Kabala Sunset Cafe for a sundowner, Wild & The Sage for bookworms and good food. The Koggala boat trip for monkey-feeding and Cinnamon Island was fun, ask the captain to pass on the last stop (herbal garden) as it’s a tourist trap.

Wow.....We stayed for our winter break for two months and it was fantastic. The villa, although a little quirky was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, the outside areas were fantastic, really good pool and beutifully kept gardens, with direct access to the beach and nearby restaurants. Gievs was always on hand to give us local information and to resolve any problems that occurred. Having problems reaching the beach due to the sand retracting with the tide he organised wooden steps to make our access easier within day....fantastic. The biggest joy of our stay was the house manager...Sadika who was always on hand to keep the villa pristinely clean and serve the best gin and tonics in Sri Lanka. his mother would come and cook our meals if we wished and honestly, her food was outstanding, beating most restaurant standards in the area. Pavi, Bathi and their family and friends are the loveliest of people, always ready to help or offer advice when needed. Our apartment was situated on the 2nd floor and was lovely, bedroom and bathroom bare very large as is the kitchen diner, if there was anything you needed Pavi got it sorted asap, the grounds are immaculate and have a plethora of wildlife wandering the grounds, the use of the swimming pool was a great addition. Polhena itself is situated in a great spot for travelling out from and has a wonderful little beach(it does get busy at weekends). Shops are in walking distance as is the main town of Matara or a short fun tuk tuk ride. Colombo and other places are easily accessible via buses or train, both a fun way to travel. We will be back.

We had a Honey moon and New Year in Akain villa. The villa is situated very close to the ocean. We prefer to see sunsets at the beach. The owners are very kind and friendly people. They help us, brought everything what we need. In the eve of New Year Candy and Lakmina organized unforgettable beach party with national food and fireworks for their guests! There is 20 minutes to the fish market by foot. Every Saturday there is the market not far from the villa. We have wonderful time in this house.

We were 2 families (8 people). We booked the entire villa and had the most amazing time at Santi beach house. The property is right in front of the beach, has a private swimming pool, lots and lots of common spaces like living area and balconies. You can hear the waves breaking while lying on the bed and you can just dip your feet in the pool and watch the beach and ocean in front of you. There were 4 staff who were extremely courteous and made ensure that they were around whenever you needed anything from them and we felt very safe and well taken care of through our stay. There is a restaurant next door (5 steps from the villa beach gate) named Fujisan. Amazing food with all kinds of cuisine and was super convenient for us. The sandy beach is again like 5 steps from the property. The beach was friendly with mild waves and a gradual slope. That worked very well for the kids.

Absolutely amazing 😍 One of the best rentals in my life. Ideal for a big family or 2-3 couples, and the price is more than reasonable. Definitely exceeded my expectations. The apartment allows you to dive into the world of luxury ✨ Sparkling clean and has everything you need. I wish Anuradha to be full booked the whole year, because this place is worth it 🔥🔥🔥

It was great being back after 4 years & to see the same warm faces that looked after us back then! Fabulous place, great hosts & excellent food! What we especially love is the secluded location that is right at the beautiful beach, yet gives you privacy & the opportunity to entirely relax with the family!! Had a great stay at this beautifully furnished, duplex condominium. The apartment has ample space, is extremely comfortable and ideally suited for a large family or group. It is also equipped with all the amenities you would expect from any 5* hotel. The host, Minoli was also extremely helpful and very pleasant to deal with. All in all, one of the best condominium properties in the area!

This is not a luxury property but a wonderful typical Sri Lankan property. Close to a small beach with diving and snorkeling centres. Also Mirissa is only a short tuk tuk ride away with its larger beach and many restaurants. The host, Ranga, and his family did everything to make our stay wonderful. Thank you

The place is very good. We came with friends and family for few nights and enjoyed every single time. The house staff are very attentive and prepare great meals besides help us with everything we need. The location is also fine and private. There is some pressure for using their TukTuk or taxi friends which could be soften, but overall our experience was fantastic!

We spent a week at Breeze Villa with our 3 year old daughter. The location of Anomas Villa is amazing - directly located at the beach. You can literally wake up and walk straight into the beautiful sea. In the morning, swimming is very safe for children. However, this location comes with the downside that there are no shops, cafes or good restaurants in walking distance. As TukTuks are easily accessible all the time, this was no problem for us because Unawatuna was just a 5-10 min TukTuk ride away. The villa itself is very big with 4 bedrooms (all with AC, 3 with mosquito nets) and 2 living rooms. The terrace is stunning. One should be aware that you pay for the location and the size - the equipment and overall condition of the villa is ok. Chaminda is a great host, responded to all our needs immediately and was very attentive. His family even prepared a Sri Lankan meal for us on our last day. Overall, we had an amazing time at Breeze Villa and can highly recommend the villa to people who want to spend their holidays in a unique location!

The White House Lodge was amazing. Janaka and his family made us instantly feel welcome and at home. The apartment is quite spacious and you'll be provided with everything you need. the terrace is very beautiful as well. Everything in Madiha is in walkable distance. Janaka helped us with tuktuks and car rides as well.

We were a family group of seven, and the house was perfect for us. It was close to the beach and restaurants, yet still quiet and peaceful. Ashkar was great—very responsive, kind, and flexible. He provided us with everything we needed.

Great little house great neighbours. Was a bit damp smelling inside as it had been closed up during rainy season but Thierry had new pillows and sheets delivered which was great. Once we opened the place up for a day it was fine. It’s a small tropical house so had its things these houses have in regards to insects and smells !! All in all we loved it. Kitchen was ok. Beds comfy. Space was great for our little family and I hope to return and meet Thierry one day. I’d go again for sure.

Celine’s house was great for us. 6 persons (4 adults and 2 children 3 and 4 years old). + house exactly the same as on photos. + location is great. + almost private claim beach was good. + Christian and Indra are really great hosts.
