Great private location, a few miles from Whitby and at the doorstep of the North York Moors. Diana was responsive, attentive and an all around perfect host! Would definitely stay again!

The annex at Orchard House is in a tranquil setting. Ever so peaceful and relaxing. Pizzas can be ordered (we did) and they were homemade, very tasty with thin stone baked bases. We had one continental breakfast and one bacon sandwich with coffee for breakfast, all excellent. Marton village is idyllic, picture postcard perfect and a little jewel in the Yorkshire Wolds. Very close to bigger towns and places of interest. For cyclists like us, it gets you onto lots of quiet B roads, amazing landscapes and lots of stop off options for cafes and pubs.

Sarah was very pleasant and helpful. She greeted us when we arrived, and gave us our room key and clear instructions on where we could park for free a minute's walk away, and how to get into Whitby town centre. There were lots of leaflets and information in the entrance area about the local attractions. Our room (6) was on the top floor and was clean and spacious - with a double and a single bed, en-suite shower, plenty of storage space, a sink in the room, mirrors and plenty of sockets. Towels and toiletries were provided. The room was heated well, with a good radiator. The guest house was full at the time of staying as it was Whitby Goth Weekend, but guests were quiet with their movements. A basket was provided for easy key drop off in the morning. We would definitely stay here again without hesitation.

Lovely and clean and very welcoming. It wasn't noisy on a night time, and the beds were really comfy. Everything available what you would need for an overnight stay. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be coming back.

Would give the cottage and Kitty, our host, a million stars if we could! From the beautiful landscape to the cozy cottage, we loved every minute of our stay. Kitty recommended lots of great restaurants and shops in nearby villages which we enjoyed checking out. Their are walking trails right off the property. We spotted all kinds of birds, deer, and loved the horses and cows nearby. The cottage is decorated so lovely and having a fire in the evening was such a comfort. It's very clean and supplied well with kitchen utensils, coffee, etc. We were genuinely sad to leave! We hope to be back soon, if Kitty will have us! Can't recommend a stay here enough, you will have a wonderful time!

Lovely hosts, great communication and fab house which looked exactly like the pictures, clean, spacious and very comfortable! We were 5 adults and 2 4yr olds, ample space for all of us. I’ll definitely be back when I’m next in the area. Thanks so much.

Great stay, thank you. Really well stocked kitchen - we didn’t cook but they had all the basics. Normally we are not sure if there will be olive oil, salt, pepper, dish soap etc. but they had a lot of items. The annexe is spacious and we felt right at home, thank you.

A perfect stay. Place is absolutely immaculate, beautifully decorated and presented. Lovely host. Would recommend and stay again. The photos looked great but it was even nicer once there. Great little kitchen with a helpful range of utensils. Well thought of. Great location to York and beautiful villages and surroundings. Great for exploring the Howardian hills. Very welcoming host and very helpful with the instructions. The room was lovely and comfy, the bathroom spacious, all very well equipped. It is very conveniently situated a ten minute walk to the university and fifteen mins to the city centre, it easily reachable by bus from the train station as well. The house is in a dead end street so no traffic. The facilities were as described and there is even a booklet made by Ashley of recommendations in the city (activities, food,drinks). Would definitely come back when back in York!

Jamal was a very kind person. And this was in a prime location where you can save lot of money no need to book any cabs.If you want to go to any place just walk for 15 min. And don’t worry Jamal will guide you about what to look insights. This was the best place to stay in York. And you will for sure come back again to this place if you stay there. We had a great stay at Georgia's place. The location is ideal - walkable from the train station, walls, river, shambles, Minster. The sitting room is lovely with access to a back patio. Stairs are mildly steep for elderly guests, but there is a handrail. Overall, fantastic and recommend!!

Host is absolutely lovely and so helpful and kind. House location is easy peasy to get to by car, parking available on quiet road, no need to drive into town, unless you really want to. No noise from road. Lovely short walk (15/20 minutes for me) to the centre of town along the river (or the main road, which is not so nice but you do pass shops, restaurants and pubs along the way). Sainsbury's local at the end of the road and down a bit, 5 minute walk if that and if you walk along the river when you pop out on the main road Sainsbury's is on your right literally on your way back to your room. Room is spacious, shower is great, loads of towels, even get dressing gowns and blankets if you want to snuggle, which we didn't as we were blessed with the weather. Again host is the best. Due to a slight issue on leaving, he was so accommodating, he restored my faith in humanity. Highly recommend and I would be happy to stay again.

We booked this for a 3 generation family Wedding in Scarborough. Lots of bedrooms meant we could all stay together rather than being scattered all over. Each bedroom all had a private bathroom which was a bonus. Initially we were concerned about the parking as we were arriving in 5 cars and all the streets are disk zoned, we needn’t have worried, there was plenty of space and our host gave us ample permits. We stayed in April so not sure if it’d be the same in the summer holidays. The lounge and dining areas were good sized for us all. Our host was friendly, helpful and flexible, making our stay great. If I had any criticism, we could have used more cutlery, not a huge problem to us as we were only there a couple of days and tended to eat out. Should we all decend on Scarborough together in the future we would definitely stay there again. I would recommend this house for a large group for sure.

Very close to York train station and small but very well equipped and clean. Great place for a quick stopover less than 5 minutes from the river!
