Fabulous Coastal Paths & Woodland Walks

SarahRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Lovely peaceful stay in beautiful grounds. Lots of walks on the private grounds including walk to their private beach. Very tranquil and special place. We did a few day trips including Ayr PortPatrick some local areas for nice restaurants. My son loves football and we went to see local town Stranraer play on his birthday and they won. We saw lots of deer and nature everywhere. Children loved the zip wire and there was a games room which we didn’t manage to get to. Kate and Angus couldn’t have been more helpful, lots of great recommendations and wonderful welcome hamper which was delicious and appreciated. Beautiful place and private grounds bigger than expected. We were sad to leave and miss the lovely scenery. Thanks so much for a memorable trip.

Auchengashell, stunning sea views

MartinRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
The house and grounds are spectacular- with amazing views across the Irish Sea to Cumbria and the Isle of Man. Amazing array of wildlife within the grounds- red squirrels, hares, roe deer, red kites all frequently sighted. The house is so comfortable and very tastefully decorated with very high quality fixtures and fittings. The surrounding area is very beautiful and so quiet and peaceful. One of the very best AirB&Bs we have stayed in, highly recommended.

Charming Galloway cottage - beaches & walks nearby

JonRating, 5 stars5 days ago
I can't recommend Burnside Cottage highly enough. The cottage itself is one of the best we've stayed in - comfortable, spacious, well appointed, super clean, with lovely simple decor. And the location is beautiful, perfect for exploring the Machars and Mull of Galloway. Also, it's just over a mile from the coast at Port William, which is an easy walk. Charles was the perfect host, communicating clearly and promptly, and always helpful and friendly. If we're ever back in the area, we would definitely book again.

Little Rock | Seaside Cottage

What an amazing experience. Communication was fast, accurate and informative. The space was equipped to a very high standard with all you could ever need. The beds were amazing, comfortable with crisp white bedsing. 2 bathrooms were well designed. The garden is gorgeous and the local area has, possibly, some of the best views ive ever seen. Woke up refreshed to birdsong every morning. The welcome pack was generous and appreciated We'll be back!

High Lodge, Galloway House Estate

We had an absolute blast at the cottage. It is a special place. It is small but somehow just spacious enough to make our stay very comfortable. The kitchen has all you might ever need and the AGA is magical! The cows outside are very friendly and the walk to the beach is beautiful and convenient. We fell in love with Scotland also thanks to our experience in the cottage. Thank you very much!

My dog and I had a lovely relaxing time at the cottage. It was perfect for the 2 of us. It was quite remote ( but I like that ) in my opinion so you would need a car. The High ceilings make the cottage seem bigger and the paintings done by a local artist are lovely on the walls. The cottage had everything we needed, the heating was very responsive so in no time you are cosy, I didn't use the log burner but it was great and Betsey left lots of logs. The bath was lovely with lashings of hot water. Loved it, thank you Betsey and lovely to meet you and your beautiful dog.

Thistle Cottage Wigtown, Dumfries & Galloway

LizzieRating, 5 stars1 day ago
We spent a wonderful week at Thistle Cottage. The house is really comfortable and so well-equipped. Caron and Mark couldn’t have made us feel more welcome. We managed to explore quite a bit of the local area and would really recommend Port Patrick, Mull of Galloway, Isle of Whithorn, Garlieston, Galloway House arboretum, RSPB Wood of Cree and Galloway Forest. Our grandchildren particularly loved Monreith Bay and Carrick Bay. Can’t recommend Thistle Cottage highly enough - thank you Mark and Caron for so many wonderful memories.
