The Loft at the Butler Place is a beautiful, quiet retreat set in the rural suburb of Sussex, just 30 minutes west of Milwaukee. The home is the 1846 homestead of the William Butler family, making the home older than the State of Wisconsin! The 2019 remodel of the Loft is in sophisticated farmhouse style and pays tribute to the history of the home in its furnishings, up cycled pieces, and beautiful setting. Our fully inclusive suite is very spacious with its own kitchen, private bath and laundry room, fully renovated in 2025! You will be staying in the historic parlor of our 1869 building, offering all the modern amenities in a historic setting. The decor is contemporary and comfortable, with two Queen sized beds, an additional fold out couch, desk&table to spread out comfortably. Located in downtown, across from Fincantieri Bay Ship, a minute walk away from bars and restaurants.

This apartment was added to the back of our detached garage about 5 years ago. Low or no VOC products were used throughout construction. Brand new appliances installed with an oven big enough to cook the biggest turkey I’ve ever dreamed of. Spectacular ridge top views and beautiful starry nights. Hiking and cross country ski trails on the property of about 75 acres. Pick hazelnuts in the fall, collect and boil your own maple sap in the spring and pick blueberries in the summer.
