A special place in the heart of the Brecon Beacons

GabriellaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
A short but wonderful stay at ‘A Special Place’! I think it is a lot better than the photos and it was very comfortable and clean. The bed was huge with great pillows, Sam had some amazing extra’s and the attention to detail adds to the stay! Will definitely stay here again when exploring the West of the Brecon Beacons!

Quiet farm stay in welsh countryside

HannahRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We have a lovely relaxing stay. The cottage is peaceful and has wonderful views. There were lovely homely touches such as fresh eggs and sweet treats left for us from the host. It was a short drive to Lampeter and easy to find. Highly recommend this place :)

Aberdar Country Cottage and Cinema Cabin

MarianaRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We had a fantastic week at Aberdar. The weather was amazing all week, so we spent our time outside enjoying the garden, orchard and stream, and sitting at the various seating areas to avoid the wind if it got too strong. We only made 3 trips away from Aberdar.. a stunning part of Wales and it was hard to put the camera down. A pleasure to drive on the pothole free roads and we hardly saw anyone apart from friendly farmers. Our anxious rescue dog was very happy enjoying the space and he was relaxed all week, as were we. Aberdar has it all.. very clean and homely, very well equipped with everything we needed, useful information file provided for guests, beautiful views and loved hearing the sheep, cows and stream. If you are tall, remember to duck when going through the doorways.. we kept forgetting! This was a very special trip for us and we will be returning!

Woolly Wood Cabins offer a slice of luxury in the heart of the Welsh countryside. The cabin is beautifully designed and fully equipped, from a well-stocked kitchen to a wood-fired hot tub, perfect for relaxing as the sun sets. Myles is an exceptional host, attentive, personable, and thoughtful, ensuring every detail is taken care of while giving you complete privacy. I wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Heart of Wales Retreat, Fireplace & Own Meadow

KatieRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We stayed for a weekend at Michelle’s place and absolutely loved it. Michelle and Rich were so welcoming; Michelle gave us excellent instructions for finding the place and had even lit the fire prior to our arrival. The space is well appointed, charming, and lovingly decorated. We spent two cozy evenings reading and knitting in front of the fire with the dog at our feet. We also slept well in the comfortable bed and loved the electric blanket system. Our dog thoroughly enjoyed romping around in the field adjacent to the property. It was overall a really nice countryside escape in a location still quite convenient to the show ground (10-15 minute drive). We would stay at Michelle’s again!

Award- winning hideaway in the hills

TimRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Staying at Cae’r Beili in April was magical. Meryl was friendly and warm as she introduced us to the beautiful converted barn. The air was full of the sounds of sheep and their lambs with easy viewing from the lovely glass-enclosed sunroom. Looking out across the Carmarthenshire hills is a soothing experience and we enjoyed a long walk through the fields to the waterfall and back. The accommodations worked very well for our family (two children and four adults, one with limited mobility). If you want to experience the heart of rural Wales I highly recommend coming to Cae'r Beili - you may experience a little "hiraeth" after you return home.

Beautiful barn conversion in quiet rural location

JennyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We greatly enjoyed our stay in this beautifully restored ancient stone barn high up on a hill with great views of the surrounding pastures, meadows and hills. The accommodation was spacious and tastefully furnished, with comfortable beds, a huge bathroom and a nicely functional kitchen. The back garden was an oasis of flowers, birds and bees, where you could sit and drink your tea and relax after a long day of exploring the surrounding countryside. Jean-Marie was an excellent, friendly and responsive host who always replied within minutes to our queries. We spent one day trout fishing on the nearby Wye, and another cycling the Elan valley. Rhayader, just a few minutes' drive away, had great restaurants and cafés. For a small, outdoorsy family of three in need of a relaxing break in a serene and beautiful spot, you couldn't do much better.
