Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Abitibi-Témiscamingue

We are in awe with how amazing this place is. The river is a joyous sight to enjoy, the house is comfy, the hosts welcoming, and the drive up was full of grand views. There are trails, games indoors and outdoors, the best stocked kitchen I've ever seen from an Air B&B, and an amazingly relaxing softtub. Wanda and Greg were immediately inviting and let us know in advance what to expect on how to get there and the fun things to do while at Valhalla and in Mattawan. If I could recommend anything to someone coming here it would be to bring a good pair of waterproof shoes and a day pack to explore the mountain paths. They were a great treat and we would walk them again in a heartbeat. There are so many things to rave about at this cozy home I can't list them all here but we will be happy to return and enjoy even more of what Valhalla has to offer.

What a great place to stay for a few days. Excellent location. Very quiet street. Close to the lake & walking trails. Fenced in yard for our pup which was a bonus. Tons of parking. Extremely clean & well kept. Front deck was gorgeous in the sun. Will definitely return for another stay.

We loved our stay at Karlee's beautifully decorated and maintained house! It had everything we needed, with extra touches like snacks, baked goods, wine and water in the fridge and a handwritten note. Karlee was prompt to respond to all communications and we felt very well taken care of! We highly recommend her place.

Joan's place was a great place for us to unwind after the hectic day of our daughter's Nipissing Graduation. We stayed 2 nights in early June, the view of the lake was incredible and sitting on the patio listening to the waves lapping at the shore was just what the doctor ordered. The only problem we had was the fridge wasn't working, Joan had a bar fridge in before we even got there and it was lots big enough for us. Joan was super apologetic and even offered room in her fridge upstairs if we needed it. A trip out to The Trading post is always recommended if you like ice cream, cones are massive! We would definitely stay here again, Joan was fantastic to deal with!

Granite Lake Chalet was a beautiful spot for our family vacation. Host Pat was friendly and responsive, and her husband even helped us catch the NBA finals on TV. The kitchen was well-stocked for cooking for our party of 7. Bathrooms were clean with ample towels and toiletries. The upstairs primary suite was roomy, with a large closet our 9-year-old used as a sleeping nook. The queen bedroom downstairs bedroom was tight due to bulky furniture; the 2nd bedroom with the bunk and double was much smaller than expected and would be much better suited for just kids. The screened-in patio was a cozy highlight, with lights, blankets, and candles for bug-free lounging. We also loved “Em’s Hideaway,” a quiet reading nook. Sturdy steps led to a magical, well-lit dock—best we’ve seen in Ontario. Great for fishing and relaxing. We launched our boat nearby, though the steep dirt ramp may require 4WD if it’s muddy. Caught mostly smallmouth bass and a couple pike. A great stay overall!

Small house on the edge of a peaceful lake where every morning the light is different! You can't escape contemplation but you can also paddle, fish, swim and then warm up in a hot tub. In short, you can't get bored... Finally, interacting with Colette was a real pleasure! We will keep beautiful memories of these few enchanting days...

Ernest and Gisele were lovely hosts. Gisele gave us a tour when we arrived showing us where to find various supplies and safety equipment and the location of switches, etc. The kitchen was very well supplied with everything we needed. The apartment was spotless and the bed was made up with cozy flannel bedsheets which was perfect for this time of year. All notes and recommendations for local dining were in both French and English which was helpful for us. It was a great place for us to stop for the night on our way home.

This was our third time staying here and as always the accommodations were clean and the pool and hot tub were a hit! Great location, walking distance to downtown restaurants and activities.

4 of us stayed here for a week and it was more than we could’ve ever wanted! The apartment was beautiful and spacious with an amazing view of the lake. The outdoor seating areas were perfect for enjoying the weather and lake. Everything you could need for cooking was there and made making meals super easy. Overall we had a wonderful and would love to visit again!

Incredible host with a comfortable and tranquil home in an exceptional location. We were just passing through North Bay so we didn’t get to enjoy all of his recommendations, but between all of the highlights he suggested and this great property, I can definitely see coming back for a proper visit.

Beautiful accommodation for single people or couples. Modernly renovated home. A place to recommend to anyone.

The basement apartment is a short walk from downtown and the lakefront. Entrance off-main street offers some privacy. We enjoyed a quiet and restful stay.

Jamie was a very good host and was able to respond quickly to any questions I had. The Airbnb itself was easy to find and in a good area with great accommodations. It was very clean and definitely a good deal, especially with how close it is to Mont Ste Marie.

Sylvain was very responsive and was receptive to a shorter than usual stay for his comfy place. An excellent host, he ensured that the propane gas fireplace had the pilot light lit, so it was easy to ignite upon arrive and get the place toasty warm within an hour or so of our arrival. Thank you, Sylvain! His partner Caroline was also very helpful with clear entry instructions for our past 8PM arrival... Merci pour tout, Caroline et Sylvain!

Perfect place for a weekend at Mont Sainte Marie, right on the hill!

This was a perfect chalet for a weekend away. The location was great and they had everything we needed. We would definitely rent it again

been at Mike's quite often, to the point it feels like home every time now. best place we found to disconnect from our daily lives while still being close to civilization if need be. can not recommend enough
