Shepherds hut holiday rentals in Afon Mawddach

Stayed here for 2 nights for the bank holiday weekend. The area was beautiful, the Lodge itself was modern and very clean. It made for a perfect get away with the private Hot Tub and cosy fireplace over looking the scenic view. Lodge was very private and secure. They provided firewood and blankets for the nights we were there and hosted a small shop for immediate conveniences such as drinks and snacks. Their information booklet had detailed lists of local shops, restaurants and nearby walks which was amazing, it saved us a lot of effort in a new area trying to find things to explore. We didn't get chance to check out the farm they had with several animals but were lucky enough to have the farm house cats come visit us each morning which we loved!

Great little cabin, cosy especially with the heater and nice to have the microwave/kettle/toaster to make things a bit easier. The facilities at the campsite were good and there was a nice atmosphere with lots of character. Easy access to coastal walking which is why I was there. Mattresses were comfy and it was nice to have the picnic bench out front. The only downside for me is that the hot water requires coins - Pete made this very clear in advance but I sadly lost my wallet with my 20p in so didn't sample the hot showers. Personally I would prefer to pay £1 extra per day on the booking and not have the hassle of coins. Value for money with 4 occupants would be excellent.

We loved every minute of our stay. Just big enough for 2 adults and our dog. We loved being outside in the private garden, watching the sea with a glass of wine. The dog loved it too, it was very safe and secure. 45mins flat walk, into the town of Barmouth, via the useful instructions left by Hayley. We ate at Dylans (15mins walk, turn right on the main road) and Bay View (6mins walk turn left on the main road) would recommend both, we didn't book and got a table but I would think you'd need to book during high season. Fantastic stay and we will definitely book to come back.

The Cowboys hut was a beautifully made hut in an idyllic location. Danna left a lovely welcome hamper on arrival and the hut was clean and tidy. The log fire kept us toasty and we would love to visit again.

Barnutopia was our 1st glamping experience and a wonderful one too. I was skeptical but pleasantly surprised by the wonderful time we had. The yurts were lovely, the site had fully equipped kitchen, clean restrooms and we could setup fire pits every night. We even met some lovely families. The place was gorgeous with beautiful views. Being able to have a coffee outside on the tables was my favorite part. Katrina was such a helpful and lovely host. She even brought out some toys for the little ones. We definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants a relaxed holiday.

Excellent stay! The check-in process was smooth and hassle-free, and Carol & Dom were such lovely people to meet! The place itself was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Would absolutely stay here again. Waking up to the Peacock calls and the birds singing was just a DREAM! The best part was Carol let us feed the alpacas. 100% the highlight of our night away! 100% would recommend to anyone! Thanks again guys!! X

Was a beautiful location and so peaceful was lovely to wake up to the view of the sheep. Was so nice to relax away from the hustle and bustle of life. Little girl loved the sheep she was there with them as much as she could. Already looking when to come back.

We LOVED the hut, it had everything we needed, we enjoyed every minute. The highlights were the spectacular views, the quiet (not even the noise of a fridge, or pipes or generator!) but easy access to some facilities down the hill to where the hosts share a sink, shower room / toilet, mini-fridge and wall socket for phone! Many thanks to these fantastic hosts!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Shepherds Hut. Cerys was a great host and was always on hand to offer any help and assistance if required. The meal she made for our first night was a lovely touch and tasted great. It was good to know there was something waiting for us when we arrived and took the hassle out of the first night. We would definitely recommend this property for a stay - was close enough to local towns for visiting yet far enough away that you can completely unwind in the peaceful surroundings and the views and sunsets at the hut were sublime. We would definitely stay here again!

We had a gorgeous time relaxing and recharging at the gorgeous shepherd’s hut. The pictures don’t do justice to how secluded and peaceful the space is - we felt like we were the only people in the world! Sian and her family were an absolute delight, so friendly and welcoming as well as being flexible. They allowed us to stay all day as they had no one in the day we were leaving, and were very flexible with a lasts minute request. Very informative on the local area but also left us to enjoy it. The place is definitely an outdoor vibe and therefore don’t expect complete polished luxury, but you have everything you need it’s very cute and at one with nature. The experience more than makes up for it. Would definitely recommend for a relaxing and welcoming stay. Thank you!

Spectacular little place to stay if visiting anywhere near Newborough/on isle of Anglesey. Paula & Phil clearly take pride in keeping this place clean and welcoming for guests and it shows! Arriving pretty late in the evening Paula greeted us to show us around etc which was really helpful. Communication before & throughout the stay was impeccable, offering loads of advice on places to go/see, tide times over at Llandwynn island. 10/10 few nights away would highly recommend to anyone looking for a cute little hideaway!

had a fab stay. was set in a beutiful setting and the hut itself was stunning. sitting outside with a morning cuppa, hearing the stream go past just rounded off a perfect stay. will definitely be back and make the most of a longer stay next time thats for sure. Thanks Again. :-D

We absolutely loved our stay here. The views from the hut is what really stood out to us and they are even better in person. We were a 15 minute drive away from Abersoch where we spent a lot of our time thanks to Meleris guidebook, there are some amazing walks and views round there too. The place was super clean and we felt very welcomed. Our dog loved the spacious garden to run around in too. Great trip overall 😊

We let ourselves in through the gate as instructed and parked up, Beth came out to greet us and show us around, The hot tub was still filling so the water is definitely changed between every visit. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking pans and utensils and the views are stunning, We stayed for 1 night only but wished we stayed longer, Will definitely return for a longer stay to take in the beautiful surroundings. What an absolute gem of a place. Beautiful accommodation in the most peaceful surroundings. The hut was immaculate with plenty of facilities. Sitting in the hot tub with the most amazing views has been delightful. An absolute must to visit to recharge the batteries. Highly recommend this lovely hut - We will definitely return.

The hut was an amazing place to stay; cozy, secluded and surrounded by nature. It was incredibly peaceful and made for the most beautiful get-away. It had everything we need and Ned was really helpful. We initially booked for two nights and ended up staying for one more. We are definitely hoping to return!

Myself and my girlfriend have just come back from a lovely few days at Hicks hut. We felt very relaxed due to the peaceful location of the hut. We really enjoyed the welcome from the animals too, and Jane even allowed for us to feed them on our final morning. We would definitely visit again!

This is a beautiful spot, I’ve totally fallen in love with the area. The cabin is really cute and comfortable. I love that the cabin is in its own enclosed paddock which is great for the dog and there is a stream across the road so you can clean the dogs off or cool them down. It’s probably worth mentioning that the farmhouse next door is currently being renovated so there are builders at work 8am - 5pm, but they are very polite and respectful and they tried to keep the noise down and did warn me if they were going to be noisy, but I was out most of the day as as they were gone by 5pm it wasn’t a problem. The owners are very responsive and are very nice. It was a great stay.
