River Hideaway

Knotty pine nearly throughout, whirlpool bathtub, granite countertop, new appliances, washer/dryer. Cookware & dinnerware provided. Outdoor gas grill (& older charcoal) and fire bowl (bring own firewood). WiFi not available & cell service is marginal. There is a queen sz bed downstairs, & a sofa bed (w/sm defect), the loft has a futon that flattens into small double bed, and there are 2 twin beds. No large, loud parties that go on into the night as there are neighbors, including the owners.

Treehouse (LOTR) Stargazer Skycabin

Our LOTR themed treehouse, along with our LOTR Wizard's Cottage, have been described as a "love letter to Tolkien himself." We have been featured on PBS and WJON radio. Joan and I live on the acreage, about 200 ft. from the Wizard's Cottage and very far from the treehouse, which is located on the back part of the acreage. It has a fenced-in portion that makes up the Shire Garden. Down the hill is our nod to Mordor. Feel free to visit and dare to open the "Mor Do(o)r." Diversity is welcome.

“Tiny Timber” Scandi cabin W/ Sauna, plunge tub!

The Maynard Cabin, a Civil War era log cabin

The Maynard Log Cabin was erected by a homesteader after the civil war. We have moved and restored it and made it available for rent. It is off the grid, but it has a complete functioning kitchen, wood stove and sitting room downstairs. There are two antique beds with new mattresses upstairs. There is no electricity but the cabin is furnished with kerosene lanterns. The bathroom facilities consist of wash basins and outhouse. The cabin is surrounded by 40 acres of woods and meadows.

Nature lovers- quiet setting!

A comfortable and skillfully crafted upper level apartment and 10 acres to roam, this loft has an open landing and private bedroom with queen size bed and heated bathroom floors. The back deck opens to a spiral staircase that overlooks the garden. Wooded paths to explore. Local lakes and water park are great places to pass the time as well as Downtown Anoka (antiquing and cafe's). All are only 15 minutes away!

Your family will be close to the activities that make this destination so desirable. The boat landing, public beach, several popular restaurants with outdoor seating, all within walking distance. Rain can’t dampen your stay here! There are games to be played, movies here or at our local theater, bowling, fabulous shopping and a brewery in nearby New London.. One bedroom apartment with private entrance located on 40 acres of rolling hills. Apartment is on second floor. Quiet location with beautiful views of a lake and countryside. Perfect place for a personal or writer's retreat or if you enjoy a quiet night's sleep. The apartment is attached to a single-family home which is our personal residence. Our home was constructed in 2014.
