Our second trip back! Just the most relaxing place to be, with fantastic sea views. Andrew is a very polite and helpful host. The place has everything you need. Oven, cooktop, grilled plus Weber bbq accompanied by a fully equipped kitchen, modern bathroom and lovely comfy bed. The covered deck is the spot to be! So very relaxing. See you on Trip 3! My partner and I had a wonderful weekend stay. The place was incredibly quiet and private, perfect for a relaxing getaway. We really appreciated the lovely personal touches that made our holiday feel extra special. Everything was clearly prepared with care. Check-in and check-out were seamless, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. We’d absolutely stay here again.

The Shed was cute as a button. Lots of books, games (and toys if you have kids!). It was just my partner and I plus our wee dog. Used the outside bath one night which was fun - the lights out on the deck were so pretty. Beds were comfy although I had to sleep in the top bunk as the bottom bed was a tad too small for both of us. (I like to starfish) 😂 Toilet and shower were outside of the shed (in a separate room just next to the shed). Pity it was pissing down as it wasn’t very pleasant going outside to the bathroom space during the night. However great stay, Donna was lovely and had wine and chocolate for us on arrival which was a great touch!

We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful and peaceful place to stay, we absolutely loved our visit and would have stayed for a week if we could! We were made to feel at home straight away with such kindness, nothing was too much trouble. 100% recommended!

Coming from a busy town, my partner and I wanted a getaway from all the noise and just the busy lifestyle that we have and the chalet was the perfect place for us to stay at and recharge mentally before getting back to reality. The privacy that you get as well as the surrounding of the beautiful nature was a bonus for us too. Definitely would recommend to those that need this kind of getaway or just a peaceful getaway in general. If you get the chance to meet the hosts, Charles and Nikki, they’re very welcoming and lovely people too!

We visited during a bit of a rainstorm, and couldn't have felt more cosy, safe, and warm. Very comfortable and unique getaway. Would recommend to anyone who wants to get off the grid a little bit and live a more simple low-tech (but still comfy) getaway

I have been in New Zealand for a little over a month now and I’ve stayed at quite a few Airbnb’s but I can honestly say that this was hands-down, my favorite one I’ve stayed in so far. Absolutely beautiful views right from the extremely private cabin. This is what I came to New Zealand for:)

We loved staying here, although we were very busy during the days and never met our hosts, their communication was great and the stay was the peaceful rest we needed after hectic days with family. Definatly recommended and hope to return again sometime.

What a special place to spend a few days in the city. It was a corner of peace surrounded by a mini rainforest that Maureen and Stephan had beautiful curated. They had thought about all the little details, with blankets and a heater as we were going into winter, some supplies of tea, coffee etc, a mini laundry and the icing on the cake was the hot tub. Thank you for sharing this beautiful place! Would highly recommend.

Wonderful Experience! We stayed at a lovely Airbnb and fell in love with the place from the first moment. Everything was clean, organized, and tastefully decorated. The host was kind, responsive to any questions, and made sure we had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable, the kitchen was well-equipped, and the overall atmosphere was warm and homey. Highly recommended, and we’d be happy to come back again!

If your looking for a place near the hot water beach this is the best place for 2pax. Plenty of parking, 5 mins walk to the beach. offers some quiet place and off grid experience.

we loved both the accomodation and the surrounds. The cottage was spic and span and tastefully furnished. The beds were very comfy. The wood fire warmed the place up very efficiently. And the hosts were friendly and kind. Thank-you so much for letting us stay.

Very private and quiet place! Perfect for what we were looking for, very cosy! The bath under the stars was the perfect touch after a day out surfing! Thanks guys for also helping us with our old van :) will def be back!!!

We had a great stay at Nicolette’s place, the view was amazing and it was so nice sitting in the hot tub looking at that view! I’d recommend a walk in Atiu Regional Park which is a 5 minute drive away - it has the same stunning views you can see from the property. Nicolette was very responsive and because nobody was checking in the next day kindly let us check out a little bit later We’d definitely stay again

A great getaway with wonderful surroundings, trees, birdsong, a waterway nearby, plus only 5 mins drive to Matakana village. The shipping container accommodation was very cool - warm and very comfortable. Even with the crazy Easter weekend weather we had a great weekend away.

A stunning spot with so many little gems to visit close by. Loved meeting ‘M&M’ and of course gorgeous Buddy. You are beautiful warm and welcoming hosts with a very special little slice of paradise. Thank you for sharing it with us.

We really enjoyed our stay at Vinkal’s place! The accommodation was clean, beautifully maintained, and exactly as described in the listing. Vinkal was an excellent host, warmly welcoming us and giving us a tour of their beautiful garden, which made the experience even more special. We also made use of the BBQ, with all the necessary equipment already provided. The whole stay exceeded our expectations, and we would highly recommend Vinkal’s place to anyone looking for a peaceful and memorable getaway! 10/10

This is a wonderful little cottage to stay at on a peaceful ‘farm’ with great views. It’s warm and cosy with the basics covered. Big unexpected bonus was the water pressure is really strong and the hot water is hot too, maybe not ok everyone’s wish list but it made for a great shower. Host is quick to reply and helpful.

Amazing stay! The place was very clean, furnishings seemed fairly new, and the cottage was cosy. View from the cottage deck was beautiful- in the early morning, mist shrouded the lower terrain and Waikato river before gradually fading away, with the sun rising behind.The night view was wonderful as well with lots of stars. We ordered a homemade pizza from the hosts and it was absolutely superb. They also spoiled us with a sublime chocolate cake and date pudding. Overall it felt like a lot of thought, effort and passion has gone into this bnb, more than almost all (and maybe even all) the bnbs we've stayed at before. We really recommend this place. And do yourself a favour and don't hesitate to order their food!
