Guests enjoy nearly six acres (over 2 hectares) of private park as well as the area's outstanding cultural treasures and proximity to Austria's lake district. The village is embedded in a nature reserve, offering guests endless local walking and biking opportunities. The baroque churches and monasteries in the area are exceptional, and lakes, mountains and beautiful villages like Bad Ischl and Hallstatt are in easy reach.

Schloss Hornegg liegt auf einem Hügel mit weitem Blick ins Land. Die Apartments wurden behutsam renoviert - nichts ist perfekt und glatt, alles hat Patina und viel Atmosphäre. An unserem Spiegelsee haben wir eine Liegewiese am Ufer und einen Badesteg eingerichtet, ein kleines Boot steht bereit. Bei uns gibt es viel Kultur, regionale Köstlichkeiten, Fisch aus der eigenen Zucht und feine Weine. Gut Hornegg ist wie eine kleine Welt in der Welt, in der wir unsere Gäste herzlich willkommen heißen.

Matzen Castle Apartment

Matzen Castle dates back to the 12th century and has a rich historical heritage. Right within the walls are our two apartments of about 75m². These consist of a small anteroom, living room, bedroom, kitchenette and a large bathroom with bathtub, shower and toilet separately. Wifi in the room and flat-screen TV are the touches of modernity that you don't have to do without. The Schlosshof is the place for the rich and lovingly prepared breakfast.

Our newly renovated apartment is located in a historic estate at the foot of the Kapuzinerberg and is just a leisurely walk to the city center. The Rauchenbichlerhof is an imposing listed castle, with its own Baroque garden, which was first mentioned by name in 1120 and in which the former mistress of the French Emperor Napoleon I lived in 1831.
