We had an amazing stay at Melissa’s cottage! The place is beautiful, calm and easily accessible by car from alberni. Melissa was so friendly, sending us many recommendations of things to do, offered us eggs from her chickens! We had such a pleasant stay and will def recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet gateway!

Very clean, bright and spacious. All the amenities felt new and well maintained. It was quiet and completely separate from the main house, giving me a real sense of privacy. I stayed a little over a month and truly felt like it was my own home :) Carmen and Mike were wonderful hosts, super responsive and full of great local recommendations. I had an amazing time exploring the area! The town itself is beautiful and peaceful, and everyone I met was incredibly friendly. I loved ending the day with a walk on the beach which is just 5 minute drive away. And there’s an amazing lookout point with expansive mountain views less than five minutes away! As someone working remotely, I really appreciated how quiet and well equipped the space was, perfect for productivity with fast and reliable Wi-Fi. I also felt completely safe throughout my stay, even when coming and going at odd hours. Having separate parking was super convenient! Overall, a perfect stay. I'd absolutely come back!!

Karen’s place was peaceful, comfortable, and had everything I needed. It’s just a short 9-minute walk to the local pub for dinner, and the backyard was full of birdsong—so relaxing. As an avid hiker, I appreciated that Karen recommended a nearby trail, and I was also able to find a few others in the area. During my stay, I did a beautiful hike and even went on a unique goat hiking excursion about an hour away. Karen’s hospitality was gracious and kind—she was even up early to see me off before checkout, which meant a lot. I truly appreciated the quiet, the care she puts into hosting, and the overall peaceful atmosphere. I will definitely come back again!

Our stay at The Way Inn was such a treat. Bamfield is such a magical place, and being right on the boardwalk provided constant entertainment for my kids to watch the boats and float planes coming and going, and friendly folks walking by and saying hello. The house has everything you need, with a lovely, well-appointed kitchen, very comfortable beds with crisp linens and a cozy living room. We spent many peaceful hours crafting and board game playing at the gorgeous dining room table with its unbeatable views. Howard and his onsite staff Ange were so friendly and hospitable, we were sad to leave and can't wait to return.
