Hawkhow Cottage, Glenridding

Hawkhow Cottage compromises four bedrooms and sleeps seven comfortably or eight cosily. Upstairs you will find three bedrooms (one King, one double and one twin) and a bathroom. Downstairs there is an additional bedroom (small double), a shower room and a traditional Aga-warmed kitchen. The glass and oak-framed extension provides a large living room with log burning stove and a galleried dining area. The property will be prepared ready for your arrival with freshly laundered bed linen and bath towels supplied for your stay. We have provided a selection of games, puzzles and toys to keep you entertained inside (and the optional use of a TV and Xbox One) as well as books, maps and guides to help you plan your activities outside. There is ample parking on-site. Guests also have shared use of the main house’s extensive gardens and grounds, including the sauna. Please note that the garden is steep with drop-offs in places, it has a number of steps and paths that can be extremely slippery, as well as running water courses, ponds and bridges. As well as having Ullswater on your doorstep for sailing, kayaking and wild swimming, there are a number of fabulous walks and bicycle rides that can be started from the cottage without ever needing to get into your car. Keen walkers can even start the climb to Helvellyn by walking up the garden to join recognised footpaths. Glenridding is a beautiful 15 minute walk along the Lake and provides a number of cafes, pubs and shops as well as access to the famous Ullswater Steamers. A slightly longer walk along the Lake in the opposite direction will take you past Glencoyne Bay, the inspiration for William Wordsworth’s ‘Daffodils’ poem, to the popular Aira Force waterfall and trails maintained by the National Trust.

Beautiful Blencathra Skies (ground floor)

A fantastic 2 bedroom ground floor house, with world class views. Main bedroom is a comfortable King sized bed, with second bedroom having two single beds with ample space to move about in. Log burner in living room for cosy nights in. Al fresco dining picnic tables front & back. Keswick is 4 miles away (taking railway track on foot, crisscrossing over the river Greta). Doorstep walking. SMART TV, Games, DVDs and books for those rainy days. Escape and enjoy the views. Note - residents upstairs.

Built in c.1870 as part of How Farm, The Barn is a very comfortable self-contained space which sleeps two adults and two children. It has a small garden, unique open living space incorporating the kitchen and lounge, lobby, shower room and large bedroom. The Barn is in a countryside location yet gives easy access to all the North West Lakes and the lesser known but very scenic West Coast.
