Holiday rentals with a kayak in Central Huron

Margaret June 2025 Trudy's home is beautifully located on the Ausauble River. Easy water access for available Kayaks. Home was spacious , cozy & clean with all the amenities. The personalized welcome sign in the foyer made us feel right at home. Enjoyed the deck overlooking the river, perfect for morning coffee. Had some great Family time around the fire. Trudy provided detailed Instructions & recommendations for things to do nearby. Thank -you for sharing your amazing space with us. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again. We rode our motorcycles from Ottawa to David's Brights Grove cottage and when we arrived, he had a nice cold one in the fridge for our arrival and fresh farm eggs (we didn't cook unfortunately). The cottage is sooo close to a beautiful blue water beach yet is far enough away, tucked in to the cutest and quietest little neighborhood you've ever seen. The cottage has a lovely, very private patio, all surrounded by plants and flowers and the trees keep it all wonderfully shaded. Also a nice outdoor fireplace and one indoors too. David stopped by on Sunday morning and told us to take our time checking out, chatted about the area with my partner (who grew up in that area 50/60 years ago), and took some pics of our motorcycles. What a fantastic person, we didn't meet Juli but hopefully in the future. Thank you David and Juli. We'll be spreading the word through the biker community to definitely check you out. Cheers. The cottage was very clean and clutter free. Decks in both the front and back allowed us to enjoy the sun all day. The grounds were meticulous...well groomed and cared for. We did not use the gym, but it's a nice addition to the cottage. Robert was very responsive in resolving a minor challenge. Beautiful spot in the city and the birds and wildlife around the pond were such a bonus. Would recommend and would not hesitate to stay again if we past through Kitchener in the future.

This was our second year at Carrie and Dan's cottage and once again my family and I had a fantastic time. The house is perfectly situated on the river with a nice beach and it has all of the amenities needed. Dan communicated regularly and checked in with us to ensure we had everything we needed. This is a beautiful property which anyone would have fun at.

The Crystal Retreat was really a fun vacation spot, and especially interesting as architecture buffs. The house is a custom home built in 1978 with the plans framed and on display. It is a unique and beautiful house with so much to enjoy on the property. We managed to check off everything over the course of four days, but needed at least that much time to get to all the pretty and relaxing spots throughout. From getting cozy with a movie with a tv that spins to face all the various lounging nooks, to diving in the pool, canoeing to the Elora Quarry, vegging out by the fire pit, we did it all and are thankful to Djurdjica for sharing her special home.

Great experience staying at this cottage. It is by far one of the nicest places on the Huron Shores. The view is spectacular through the huge windows. The house was spotless and clean, and very well appointed. Looked like it was out of a model home. Well stocked with games and things to do. Clean kitchen, bathroom, and bedrooms. We had a great and relaxing time. Would definitely recommend this cottage. We will absolutely be booking again.

We had an amazing stay at Mikes air bnb in Grand Bend for my Husbands 30th. The place was wonderful with lots of things to do and a lot of indoor and outdoor space. Mike was more than responsive to us and helped us with any questions we had and made sure everything was working and fixed for us. Him and his wife were super responsive and were able to accommodate us with early check in and late checkout because the place was available the night before and after. This was very kind of them and they did not have to do this. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was wonderful. The most amazing thing about this air bnb is the location , it’s a minute walk from the main strip and had so many extra amenities such as kayaks. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting grand bend. The inside of the place is modern, new and had everything we needed and the outdoor space was equipped with bbqs, outdoor Furniture etc. we would definitely stay again.

An ideal place to gather to be able to spend time with aging parents n the area. Thanks Paul for your responsiveness .

We had a great time at Stonewood. The cottage is large, 4 bedrooms each with an ensuite. The cottage is large with high ceilings and a loft. It is well-heated and the kitchen was nice and well- equipped.

I had a wonderful get away at The Pebbles. The location was great and very close to the beach. Catherine is very responsive and assured I was comfortable. The local recommendations were fantastic! The cottage is cozy with a beautiful view of Lake Huron and it's spectacular sunsets.

This place was the most wonderful escape from the city, cozy and welcoming! Perfect trip for our toddler - safety outlets and even cute games to play inside and outdoor games as well! The perfect little home away from home, the paddle boats and fishing rods were the cherries on top ! Highly recommend

Amanda's place is so cozy and homey, it was the perfect place for a weekend getaway from the city. It's so well stocked both inside and out, the kitchen had everything you needed, and outside had so many activities! Amanda was a super responsive and helpful host, we were so appreciative!

We had a fantastic experience at Coralie's Airbnb! The place was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully decorated. We especially loved the cozy living space and well-equipped kitchen, which made it feel like a home away from home. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and convenient stay. We'll definitely be back!

We had a wonderful time here! As soon as we entered the house, it smelt clean. The owners clearly work hard to make sure it is top notch for their guests. The beds were also very comfortable. The views are stunning! The access to the beach is approx 100 stairs therefore not accessible but we were able to manage it. My only suggestion is an umbrella for the top deck as the sun gets really hot and there is no shade. 100% recommend staying here. I’d love to book it again.

We spent our family reunion here at Zac’s place for the Easter long weekend and had an amazing time. Our stay was better than expected with everything you can think of. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub, bonfire, theatre room downstairs and the kids loved having the entire upstairs to themselves. The Alexa speaker all around the house was an added bonus. We cannot thank Zac & his family enough for the accommodation. We would love to come back & create more memories with our family in the near future.

Emilie was a great host, very accommodating and responsive. The cottage is rustic and very cute. The location is very peaceful on the river and a very short walk to the beach. Everything was tidy upon arrival. There were enough dishes and glassware for a family. The outdoor shower was warm and fun for the kids after they played in the sand. We enjoyed taking the kayak out as well on the river. Would recommend as a nice getaway spot for a family of four and would stay with Emilie again!

Aleks and her family were such great hosts! The space was everything we could have asked for. I booked the cottage for the weekend to celebrate my birthday with family and friends and it was perfect! A nice, private spot right on the water. The perfect spot to grab your coffee or tea and sip in silence while you enjoy the beautiful views and calming sounds of Lake Huron. It has all the amenities that you could need for a cottage weekend – barbecue, fire pit, outdoor picnic table, lounge chairs, a kayak and paddle board – honestly it was the best way to spend a weekend. The beach is definitely rocky, so as they mention, bring water shoes. The driveway is steep, so a bit daunting and intimidating, but we had zero issues getting in and out; just drive slow, and take your time. Aleks is SUPER responsive and one of the kindest hosts I’ve ever connected with. Thank you to your family for sharing your space with us! The best little Lake Huron getaway.

The place was Beautiful and clean Could use a compost Bin , the beach was clear and clean looking , the fire wood was dry it would light great and owners were great and was very friendly and helpful the bathrooms were clean and the shower had hot water that was great we will be returning lots on are own and with family, friends to set back and relax we Highly recommend.

We had a great time at Brian's place! The amenities were excellent and the lake was gorgeous, especially at sunrise and sunset. If you walk out a bit at night you can also get a great view of the stars. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and we really appreciated being able to buy propane and wood at the shop. The bathroom was also really clean and it was nice that there was hot water.

This cabin rental is beautiful. The river is so peaceful sounding and you have everything you need to relax and enjoy a quick little get away. We stayed as guests for a wedding near by and it accommodated me as a single well in the smaller cabin and my friend and her baby in the larger cabin. This was an excellent find! Scott was communicative and professional and everything was easy.

Susan was very helpful and responsive - we had a fabulous time and would definitely recommend her accommodations! It was a great weekend getaway.

The cabin had a great mixture of modern looks with some original rustic finishes. Williams Lake is my favourite Lake in Ontario. The waters are warm, clear and boat traffic isn’t overwhelming. The neighbours are close but are friendly and respectful. Maude is a great host, she was very friendly and responsive.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Hawthorn cottages and Brian as a host. I rented a one bedroom cabin for the weekend, and it was perfect. I was looking for a rest in relaxation and I found it. You have all of your basic amenities in the cozy, rustic dwellings. Simple and efficient. Great value for the experience. There is a shared bathroom facility, separate men’s and ladies’ washroom and a shower. It’s truly a little slice of paradise. So peaceful and every cabin is mere steps from the lake. Gorgeous scenery. I went as a solo female traveler and felt cozy and comfortable the entire time. It was perfect. Brian checked in from time to time to make sure everything was going well. Everyone there was so friendly and lovely. I look forward to returning.

It was a Beautiful stay at Hawthorn Cottages! Brian was a fantastic host who was attentive, available, and helpful with whatever we needed. The room was spotless, and the bathroom and shower were well-maintained, even considering they were shared facilities (which we had expected).
