Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Coniston Water

Lovely house, great views, within 30 mins drive to all main south lakes sights. Communication and check in all very easy and clear. We had a great stay :)

Great accommodation in a quiet location with good access to the Eastern and Northern Fells. Super-clean and comfortable with everything that we needed for a self catering holiday in the Lake District. The hosts were lovely. Always available if required but very ‘light-touch’; the perfect balance. Couldn’t be better.

I can’t recommend Will and Giles’ place enough. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer. The information sent prior to arrival was brilliant, the cottage was much bigger than we expected and it’s in an amazing location right by Coniston. The place was spotless and had some lovely touches. We will be back!

This was our first visit to Alison’s cottage and certainly won’t be our last. It’s a lovely cosy place for 2 people in the heart of Bowness, just off the Main Street which helps the property to feel private and quiet. It was spotless and It had all the amenities as described with the kitchen having everything you need for a break away from home. The bed was really comfortable and the bathroom was lovely. There’s also an added bonus of a downstairs loo. The property was easy to find and the allocated car park space, which was very close to the cottage, was very valuable in a town with limited parking. Alison’s communication was excellent and she even catered to our dietary needs with some lovely treats. I would highly recommend a break at this cottage if you are staying in the area.

We had a lovely stay. The space was thoughtfully laid out with lots of added extras. Rachael was very responsive and helpful with our questions. Would definitely recommend.

A lovely cottage, in a great location. Had everything we needed and more. Easy instructions to get to location and for check in and check out. Visited Ingleton waterfalls trail, only half hour drive from cottage and well worth visiting, beautiful! Would definitely stay at the cottage again.

We stayed at Brad and Sue’s place in Coniston in June. Great location - lots of restaurants and cafes in walking distance and several small shops for essentials. We were 5 adults and a dog and found the accommodation really comfortable with everything we needed for our week. Helpful tips for local pubs, cafes and restaurants from Brad and Sue. We had a lovely stay; the location is wonderful, surrounded by farmland with baby lambs overlooking the seating area! The apartment is very well specced and looked after, with a small garden house further up the hill opposite and an amazing river a short walk across the fields where we went for a swim. The photos do not do the property justice, it is a gem. Would definitely come back to use as a quiet base to explore the lakes from again.

This was one of those places that you would wish to keep a secret. The views are breathtaking, the area is quiet, perfect for a retreat for people willing to charge their batteries from their busy lives. It's a bit off the beaten track, so you need a car or a taxi from the train station to get there, but you can rest from the busy touristic towns of the Lake District. Jeanette was a very discreet and lovely host. She furbished the place with great care. Thank you Jeanette for hosting us, your place was a dream come true!

We loved the flat, it was perfect location, with pubs, shops and attractions within walking distance. The flat was lovely and clean and Liam was a great host, quick to respond to messages and gave out easy instructions. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful place in the countryside! Super clean, has everything you might need… and more (like an homemade cake we found in the kitchen waiting for us ❤️) The hosts are super friendly, responsive and helpful, the location is superb if you like quiet and off-the-beaten-track places!

This bijpu bedsit is perfect for a single person. Peaceful and private, and with everything I needed. The bed was really comfortable, and the whole place was immaculately clean. I was really happy to see environmental measures in place. The location is perfect - spot on for accessing this part of the Lakes, with so many beautiful spots within easy driving distance. Kath's communications were clear and friendly and fast. I would recommend this accommodation and its owners without hesitation.

Great location with easy access to most local attractions. The place was lovely and cosy, perfect for a relaxing stay. Andrew was very responsive and helpful. He kindly accommodated our early check-in even though we requested it on the day. I'd love to stay here again when I return to Bowness.

The mill is stunning - beautifully restored and tastefully decorated with everything needed. A real home from home. Beds were comfortable and bathroom spotless. Walk into Kendal took around 20 mins with some good pubs and shops in the town. My daughters and I throughly enjoyed our stay… Some noise from children in lower apartment early in the mornings was the only slight negative… Highly recommend the mill.

Great location with it being a short walk from the lake itself. The host was great at sending local recommendations and keeping in touch when required. Definitely worth the money and it was a lovely stay!😊
