Really cosy place, awesome decor and a huge bed. Would love to visit in winter to make use of the fireplaces (the weather was too good this weekend!) Hot tub was great and pizza oven fantastic. Thanks for having us!

Comfortable home in beautiful surroundings. Really responsive and friendly host. En-suite bathrooms to each bedroom and the beds were super comfy. Great parking and charger for electric car - lovely walks nearby along the river and the horse in the field behind had just given birth to a foal so our daughter was mesmerised. Oh I forgot the hot tub - that was great too!

Amazing stay at Gatehouse Barn. It is a really lovely, homely, welcoming place to stay. Plenty of sleeping options downstairs and up and a cosy living space. Also loads of seating areas outside which were perfect to enjoy the sun. The area is really quiet and peaceful and the location of the barn is extra secluded and private. As a final bonus, the attached spa area was a real treat after long walks (loads of which can start literally from the front door).

We stayed at this lovely cottage for just one night and had such a wonderful, relaxing time. The place was spotlessly clean, spacious, and had a warm, homely feel from the moment we arrived. The hot tub and garden area were fantastic touches—perfect for unwinding—though sadly the heavy rain meant we couldn’t enjoy them as much as we would’ve liked. That said, the weather didn’t dampen our mood or take away from what was a truly peaceful stay at this little gem. In fact, it was lovely listening to the rain and watching it out of the window with a glass of wine in hand! We’ll definitely be back—hopefully under sunnier skies! Thank you for a lovely experience.

Perfect getaway from us and handy for visiting family. The hot tub was a welcome daily ritual and the garden is very peaceful. Everything needed was provided in the house, would just add that the garden furniture is Ok for eating, but not comfortable for long sitting and reading, luckily we had our folding chairs in the car so not a problem, but worth bearing in mind.

We stayed at Bruce and Anita’s beautiful cottage and from start to finish their communication was excellent.. on arrival Anita had baked some beautiful whole meal bread and had bought us a lovely chocolate cake , and we were welcomed by lovely music on the Alexa .. Archie our Airedale terrier also loved the treats they left for him . The cottage was enchanting , pristine a beautiful enclosed garden for Archie and had everything we needed for our 3 day stay .. the views were breathtaking and it was so peaceful , quiet and the village and river were within walking distance. Hubby is a keen birdwatcher and enjoyed the conversation with Anita about all the birds within the location and was impressed they had 7 swift bird boxes .. Anita , Bruce and their beautiful dogs ( 3 rough collies) cottage comes highly recommended and we hope to revisit soon x Thankyou

Great place to stay with the family and dogs! Incredible walks in the surrounding area, and great place for games nights in the evening! Jeff was incredible helpful and responsive when we messaged him! Would highly recommended for a peaceful stay away!

The cottage was beautiful, very clean and had everything you need to feel like home from home. The area is very easy to get to but feels like you are deep in the countryside. Will definitely return on my next trip to UK. 10/10

If you are looking for a week off-grid then we would definitely recommend the Hemmel, it was everything we needed and more. Our favourite bits were the views, the peacefulness, and the red squirrels running across the stone wall in the garden! We can’t wait to come back again and explore more of Northumberland. Kate was an excellent host who was extremely helpful and very friendly. We based our plans off her comprehensive local guide folder and filled the rest of the time with the wide variety or board games, books, and DVDs!

I cannot say enough good things about this gorgeous cottage. It is the cleanest Airbnb we’ve ever stayed in and smelled incredible. Diane has thought of everything you could need including a very handy umbrella. She responded so quickly answering all of our questions. The location is great for exploring all the nearby sites. Maple Cottage was a delightful place to be for a much needed week of peace & tranquility. It was the perfect base for exploring the beautiful surrounding countryside & felt like a proper home from home. The beds were super comfy & the upstairs living space is the perfect place to chill out after a day out. With high ceilings & lots of light coming in it was spacious & airy while still having that cosy & homely feeling. The kitchen was super well equipped with modern & easy to use appliances & even had a slow cooker. There were thoughtful touches everywhere & Gladys was the perfect host. Fresh milk in the fridge, tea bags & a packet of biscuits goes a long way when you first arrive & it was very clear that Gladys has put a lot of love & care into Maple Cottage to make it feel like a proper home from home. We had a fabulous time & would recommend Bowlees Visitor Centre as the perfect base for short picturesque walks by the river to see some stunning countryside.

We came here straight from our wedding with our two girls for our family moon and couldn’t have asked for anything more. From the moment we arrived with the little arrival touches to Susan setting out toys appropriate for our girls ages and the baby equipment we needed. We have never felt more welcomed especially with young children. After 3 days here I feel more relaxed than I do if I’ve been away longer and the kids have never slept so well thanks to the brook at the back of the house. Waking up and feeding the lambs on our literal doorstep was a highlight for us and the girls. Thank you so much for making us feel so welcome and the memories made in your home xxx

We had an exceptional stay at Sally and Tim’s Airbnb. They had thought of everything to make our stay as comfortable and luxurious as possible. The house was better than most hotels; it was completely spotless, all amenities were of high quality, and most importantly of all, Sally and Tim had gone above and beyond to add personal touches to make us feel welcome. There was a beautiful array of locally sourced foods when we arrived, as well as a handwritten note and fresh peonies. I would not hesitate to recommend The Old Workshop, and we would love to return.

Probably the best Airbnb we have stayed in to date. Extremely well equipped cottage in beautiful surroundings. Very helpful owners. An ideal spot for exploring all that Northumberland has to offer. Thanks for having us!

Our stay could not have been better. Although ephemeral to our visit the only thing that could have made our stay easier would have been the presence of a dishwasher. Of course this does not in any way detract from a property which has been set up perfectly by Victoria, for the enjoyment of her visitors. The sort of place you would have no hesitation in recommending to anyone interested in visiting this fascinating area on the Cumbrian/Northumberland border.

Beautiful accommodation in the lush countryside an easy 15 minute drive into Alnwick. Helen (host) was very welcoming and the goodies waiting for us in the kitchen on our arrival was very much appreciated. Would definitely stay again if we were in the Alnwick area. Thanks Helen!

Great location, very peaceful and quiet. surrounded by beautiful rural views, overlooking a very old bridge and river, great walks and friendly locals. Very well placed for getting around by car, the A1 easily accessible. A bus stop across the road too. Lovely pub a few doors away and a trendy coffee shop and bar over the bridge. The cottage was really lovely, clean comfortable and homely with a well equipped kitchen. The beds were extremely comfy with quality white Egyptian cotton bedding, window shutters and blinds in the main bedroom so it was still nice and dark in the morning... slept like a log! The shower over the bath was powerful and the bathroom nice and clean with a powerful fan. ( no window but not stuffy. We had a great stay and didn't want to leave. absolutely perfect!

The barn ist very beautiful furnished and full of great ideas how to relax including everything you need for that. Everything is prepared to feel welcomed and gorgeous. We had a great time even sitting outside and Jenny and Chris were very helpful! We hope to come back and can highly recommend the cosy barn.

We had a fantastic week in the Lakes staying at the bothy. John and Julia are warm, friendly and thoughtful hosts and the space was perfect (and more spacious than the photos suggest). The bothy was well appointed with everything we needed and the beautiful cottage garden was an added bonus - secure for our dog and a peaceful haven to enjoy the morning/evening sunshine. Highly recommend
