This is a wonderful hidden gem within the beautiful Flinthills! It is an absolutely peaceful and wonderful little getaway, and the hosts are absolutely amazing! It is minutes away from the Tallgrass Prairie Nature Preserve! It is just a perfect homebase location! Can’t wait to book our stay there again!

Matfield Station is one of our favorite places to stay, anywhere! The bunkhouse apartment is wonderfully designed and furnished, with interesting books on the shelves that relate to the prairie and the Flint Hills area. The acreage around the bunkhouse, with its mowed pathways, provides an immersion into the beauty of the tall grasses and flowers of the region. As always, we had a beautiful and rejuvenating time. Thank you for this very special place.

We had a wonderful stay! Lee Anne’s house was very clean & we felt right at home. She left us homemade cinnamon rolls, eggs, English muffins, milk and other treats. We spent every spare moment we had just sitting & relaxing on the front porch. I would highly recommend Lee Anne’s house.
